Morning!

Kay - hope your DH is recovering.

Gruff - fingers crossed for your DH. MAD Academy is fun - we had a taster session at Bumps&Babes in June.

Bumps - sounds like you had s great holiday. Well done O with the crawling

Had a good evening except for stream of texts from DH! I left at 7.40 and DH managed ok with playing the changing O into sleepsuit then giving him his bottle. Once that was all done though at about 9.10, DH kept texting me and asking me to come home
In the end I phoned about 9.30 and decided they were ok as I couldn't hear O. DH said "that's because I'm standing up. As soon as I sit down, he doesn't like it." I suggested he stayed standing for a bit... DH asked if I'd be home for about 10pm. I left the girls and got home about 10 past to find O asleep! DH said "He fell asleep 10 mins ago."
I think DH found it all a bit stressful but actually coped ok. He probably feels quite proud now Good thing too as I'm out next Thursday night too at a work meeting....

Sorry for rambling, just needed to IYKWIM!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 17/09/2009 08:00

Morning all - Ses, your DH sounds funny! You wait, he'll be telling the story from a completely different angle very soon, about how great he was and how he managed just fine without you

Kay - glad to hear your DH is OK

Bumps - lovely to hear from you, glad you had a good week, especially DD. Can't believe DS is crawling already!

Gruff - what is MAD Academy?

Moos - hows the MS these days? Have I not been reading properly, has it faded away now?

Am a bit jealous of this weekends meet up, wish I could be there, but really not possible! I can barely drive at the moment. Mum has suggested that I ask my aunt to come and stay for a few days, might ring her later and see if she fancies a bit of a working holiday! She's a mean cook and would probably have my house organised in no time!

Just posted this on my Oct AN thread:

I think last night was officially the WORST nights sleep I've ever had. I had contractions for about an hour and a half, which were definitely stronger than the normal BHs, and more painful - sort of spreading round to my lower back and giving what I imagine is the classic 'period pain' type feeling. They eventually subsided some time after 1 so I slept for a bit, but then DS woke me up coughing, so I went and gave him some medicine, then I couldn't stop weeing, couldn't get comfortable, couldn't sleep etc and if i did get comfortable, i'd only have to get up and go and wee again...

Consultant appointment this afternoon, so hopefully we'll be making a plan. I'm sure I can't do this for another three weeks (till due date) nevermind a possible further two weeks on top of that.

Am absolutely shattered, and starving, so must get something to eat and then crawl back to bed in an attempt to get some sleep - although how i prevent myself from turning completely nocturnal I have no idea. Something tells me that after DS being a really easy baby, this one is going to be a whole different ball game .

Sparklytwinkletoes · 17/09/2009 08:02

Oh, and what's with the feeling very very hungry, yet not fancying anything to eat? I've been eating like a bird these last couple of days - which I'm sure can't be normal for 37+3?

Sparklytwinkletoes · 17/09/2009 09:26

Where are you all? I can't sleep, have had my huge bowl of shreddies and have just had to stuff another brioche in .

bodenaddict · 17/09/2009 09:34

hi sparkly - good luck with appmnt

dd1 started school this morning

Diege · 17/09/2009 09:51

Morning! Aww STT I feel your pain! I think we've all been there to varying degrees, but just try to rest while you can and remember that in no time at all your LO will be with you (and then you'll look back at it all with rose tinted specatcles
SES, I think I would have been a bit , even if that had been my dh..just at the texting business when you were on a precious night out.I am quite hard line with my dh though, so he knows what to expect.. Hopefully it will get easier with time and practice!
BODEN, hope A has a good first day at school - bet she'll be chatting happily about it when you pick her up
Hi BUMPS! Ds crawling along does sound cute - lol at his carpet burns
Need to brave the PO today after putting it off yesterday...still, the mortgage document MUST get off today, esp with the postal strike. Speak later!

essenceofSES · 17/09/2009 10:10

I was a bit and tbh as it really got in the way of most of the evening. But I went esay on him as I actually think he spent most of the evening scared that he had sole responsibility and might do something wrong. I won't go so easy on him again!
Also, STT, you're right - this morning I heard DH saying to DS "Daddy did really well looking after you last night, didn't he? You had a nice sleep on Daddy"!!

Boden - I agree, I expect DD1 is having a great time

STT - that does sound like a rotten night. Hope you're appointment goes well.

essenceofSES · 17/09/2009 10:45

Ok, now I'm
DH has just phoned and said "Did one of the dogs wee on the dining room floor overnight?" I said, "I don't know I haven't been in there yet." "Oh, well they might have done. Sorry I didn't get time to do anything about it."
There was a huge smelly puddle in the back corner so I've just had the mop out!

Friend coming over in 15 mins so I'm awaiting pg news! Hope I'm not imagining the vibe I've been getting!!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 17/09/2009 10:54

Thanks guys - was beginning to wonder where you'd all gone!

(Although, have no idea how you find the time to post either )

Have just phoned my aunt and asked if she'd like to come and stay for a bit - a very poor attempt by me to actually say "and cook, clean, tidy, decorate, chauffeur etc" as I'm really struggling but with no good reason... she's just waiting for her partner to come home to talk about when is good for her, so hopefully that's a yes.

Only thing is, we'll have to get our skates on and buy a bed for her!!! Have decided to put the cot in the nursery away for a bit and buy a supercheap single bed, then visiting rellies (aunt, mum, SIL all due to visit in next 8 weeks or so to help out before / during / after birth etc) will have somewhere to sleep.

Thought DH would be totally against it, but to be honest, I think he's actually relieved that some of the burden will be taken off him. I know I whinge about him sometimes, but he really does work very hard and is under a lot of pressure at work, but always comes home on time, or calls if he's going to be late, and still takes DS off me the minute he walks through the door and cooks dinner coz his DW is too bone idle knackered. Then when he's put DS to bed, he gets on with the DIY etc and in the middle of the night, when DW is keeping him awake, he goes off and gets me food and drink...

I'm pathetic really, aren't I, in a nutshell...

Really must try and pull myself together (or go into labour, one or the other!)

Sparklytwinkletoes · 17/09/2009 10:58

(All a bit tongue in cheek - don't tell me off for being hard on myself - I could be harder and actually do something)

Diege · 17/09/2009 11:19

STT you are being FAR too hard on yourself . Seriously, you need to give yourself some credit for all that you ARE doing, and not what you're not!
SES, hmm I would be a tad too at the wee puddle...on a happier note let's hope there's good news from your friend!
Have posted briefly on fb wagon thread about my new (slightly later) arrival time at York station, re: what time we're meeting.
Really MUST leave for PO now!!...

Sparklytwinkletoes · 17/09/2009 12:10

Hurrah! After 8 weeks (8 weeks!) my HiP Grant has finally been awarded!

Should just about get it before I give birth

Now, what to spend it on....

Sparklytwinkletoes · 17/09/2009 12:11

Anyone got any recommendations for half decent quality (its only for short term occasional use) single beds.

Divan or not?

Where from?

Are they all pretty much the same when you're looking at spending a MAX of £120?!

Diege · 17/09/2009 12:25

8 weeks is pretty quick STT!! Got mine about 4 weeks after J born (ie, middle July) after applying in March . Spend it on yourself (ie. not the bed),maybe some nice clothes that will make you feel good about yourself after the birth ? (thinking cashmere sweater, comfy but stytlish trousers...) or blow it on a spa day now while you have the time?? Re: bed, Argos has some pretty good deals on, always stuck with them when buying beds.

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 17/09/2009 12:30

LOL Diege, I read that last line as "Really MUST leave for a poo now" Had to read it twice! I was thinking I know there aren't many things that are a bit taboo on the ol' wagon, but sheesh woman, where's your class gone?!

STT, Diege is right (not about the poo though - just to make it clear!) stop beating yourself up, you are growing a human being, and have been doing non-stop for goodness knows how long without a break, without even an hour off, aswell as obviously taking care of DS1 and to some extent DH, and the house and working etc. etc. etc. T'is bloody hard work.

Kooky, lovely to hear you're all settling in so well

Kayz, hope DH is OK now? Very scary for you both.

Tink, I bet she is having a whale of a time! My friends little boy started reception last week, she'd been worried about it for weeks, nearly drove herself round the bend on his first day, and when he came out at the end of the day he came running up, big grin on his face, showing her his stickers he'd earnt and a lovely little 'welcome to school' card thing his teacher had given them all. I think it is 100 times harder on the parents than the kids!

Well, we went to see the house last night, it's gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous, exactly what we're looking for, all the rooms we want, nice gardens, the village is lovely, the schools are great and have spaces which is fantastic, but, the owners (he's from Canada, she spent a few years there, which is how they met) are both taking career breaks, going back to Canada for a minimum of 12 months, but if for any reason it doesn't work out, they'll be coming back, so we are weighing up the posibility of moving there and getting DS1 settled in his new school, after the first 6 months, start looking for another longer term house, which shouldn't be too much of a problem with where it is, but, it's a risk, if nothing becomes available, it could well mean having to move his schools again and I'm not sure if it's worth the risk or not.

Counteract that with there is not another single house on the rental market in Lancashire that is even worth ringing about, and that we have till the end of October to move out of here, if we let this house we saw last night go out of the window, I'm not sure we would be able to move out in time for the buyers.

Ahhhhhhhh decisions decisions.

I hate decisions.

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 17/09/2009 12:39

Sorry x posted!

Deffo clothes STT!

Diege · 17/09/2009 12:40

Then let me make the decision for you LIGHTENING . GO FOR IT!!!! As you say, you've weighed up all the options and I'd say on balance this house is right for you. As Phil and Kirsty say, you will always have to compromise somewhere, and chances are the owners will fall in love with Canada and not come back anyway. IF they do, then you will have adequate notice to find somewhere in the catchment area, but even if you move outside ds will still keep his place (as would other ds's being siblings), and you'll be driving by then so dropping off will be a doddle...So all you need to do now is sign the lease and let us see some piccies. Sorted . Back from my PO(O) you'll be pleased to hear..A quick in and out!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 17/09/2009 12:53

Afternoon.... DH is off today, tomorrow, the weekend and monday!!! How good is that!! gonna pop out and get our last weeks worth of food in a bit, but wanted to pop in and say hi...

Still no AF here- i'd normally be finishing my period around now.... had the teeniest spot of browny blood yesterday (after a poke about to see what my cervix felt like- not that i know the difference between a PG cervix or a nearly AF cervix) but nothing since- got all excited that AF was coming so haven't done another test as yet.... i bought a test yesterday so if nothing by tonight i'll be doing one with FMU tomorrow i think.

well i'll pop in again tomorrow just to check nothings changed for York on Sat, and will also check FB wagon too to be safe. And if no changes then i'll be back on the wagon as normal from weds i think as have my friend coming over from doncaster on tuesday too.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 17/09/2009 13:14

Good that A enjoyed her first day BODEN, but what a short day!! Do they do half days then build up to full ones??> After all the anticipation of some free (er) time the least I would expect would be a good 9 till 3
