Well I had a sweep in the end. Apparently cervix isn't completely ripe but isn't unfavourable either, sort of between I think. It wasn't that painful really, I am now very very crampy and sore. They are coming out on Sat to do another one if no labour by then.

Grouch is the word. Bought some chocolate muffins on the way home though so might eat all of them one now.

SPB if that theory is true this one will be born tomorrow, lets hope so!

TigerFeet · 16/09/2009 14:06

@ cleaners, although having dd at school and dh at work all day has done wonders for the cleanliness and tidiness of my house!

Fingers crossed you won't need a repeat perfomance on Saturday bigbang.

TrixieVix · 16/09/2009 14:17

Arggggghhhhhh GROUCH GROUCH GROUCH

Minshu · 16/09/2009 14:33

Oh TrixieVix - these things all add up, bound to have that kind of effect given our condition - having these pre-menstrual-type emotional swings can be a sign, too, apparently. A couple walked past me earlier with a tiny baby in a carrier, which made me fill up (the lady had a suspiciously tiny waist, which I'm sure is sufficient justification for my tears).

Loving the grouchy pics.

Happy Birthday, MumsyLady!!

Hope the sweeps have done something, bigbang and snowfalls!

Also of those with cleaners - the cat has stepped up the fur creation and distribution business again.

Been stuck in town this morning waiting for car to be ready after MOT, and eaten more than my fair share of treat items in an assortment of cafes, in between looking at handbags and shoes I'll never buy. Was quite nice until my fingers started to swell up.

Gonnabamumma · 16/09/2009 16:01

Tigerfeet - nearly did my pelvic floor a damage - pmsl. Yes might need to step up the housework somewhat, although what is wrong with raising a child in a dustbin?

Just took the pooch out for a long walk to see if I could shake the baby loose - not a chance, so baking scones it is

StealthPolarBear · 16/09/2009 16:07

I've just hoovered the bath out

Minshu · 16/09/2009 16:11

Sounds like a health and safety issue, Stealth (have you given up on the Lady prefix?).

StealthPolarBear · 16/09/2009 16:19

yes, well the lady was to inspire me to go into labour early, worked so well

StealthPolarBear · 16/09/2009 16:25

am resorting to begging the baby to come out

Minshu · 16/09/2009 16:30

They're not very obedient, are they? tut-tut

StealthPolarBear · 16/09/2009 16:31

hi quick note,

our little girl was born yesterday in a super fast labour at home in the bathtub. all is brilliant at the moment, even though i could do with a long long sleep.

Minshu · 16/09/2009 16:41

Remember, it can't and won't go on forever!!!! When I get past my EDD I'm going to try tempting my LO with shoes (step mother bought some gorgeous purple ones for her). If she's anything like me, that'll get her going.

I seem to have a bottom in where my left lung should be And a fist in my bladder

Gonnabamumma · 16/09/2009 16:42

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhh - I AM SO BORED, baby come out this instant! Sorry all got a bit much for a minute

Minshu · 16/09/2009 16:43

mummyhill · 16/09/2009 17:17

congratulations Audrey.

Thusnelda · 16/09/2009 17:17

Congratulations Lobyd, JRocks, LJ29, Blinder, LizLemon and Audrey!

I've not been posting other than updating the stats thread occasionally. Just ran out of steam once I managed to catch up..

Peachygirl congratulations! I hope Zoe is feeding better by now and that you'll have some time to reconcile your other daughter with the idea of having to share her parents...

bigbang, no wonder you're fed up after how many days of practice labour? I hope it's happening soon!
And for all the others in the Grouch Club too!

My due date isn't til Sunday and I don't get the impression that anything is imminent at all. This little one isn't even engaged yet though head is down and central so I'm told not to worry about it.
I like the idea of nesting by proxy and as luck will have it my mother has arrived yet again - plenty to do around the house to keep her busy... And I'll send her to the bookshop on Saturday cause I've finally given myself some maternity leave! I was thoroughly fed up with it all by the end of last week.

bigbang · 16/09/2009 18:04

Congratulations audrey!

Good to hear from you thusnelda

Well I am thoroughly miserable now. I am in agony and seriously wish I hadn't had that blasted sweep. I keep bursting into tears with the pain. Not cx, just horrendous constant cramps, feel like someone is twisting a knife in my cervix and can barely walk. Have taken some paracetamol but has done nothing. Dp refused to come home and be with me as if its not labour he needs to work I know he is busy but a bit of moral support wouldn't go a miss. Ds keeps saying 'crying all done mummy', feel very guilty. No bloody show or anything so feel like the sweep was totally pointless and has done nothing but cause pain that isn't even doing anything.

Sorry, totally miserable post

StealthPolarBear · 16/09/2009 18:39

oh dear bigbang. How much longer does your DH have to work? When does your DS go to bed?
