Morning everyone, Sorry to hear some of you are feeling sick. I had a random few days feeling and being sick around 3 weeks ago.

I haven't been posted for a couple of weeks. I've been feeling so tired. I finish up work in a few days time. I'm glad to be finishing up sooner (well sooner than I thought, I'm self emp). With having ds to run around after and dh goes away a lot for business, I could do with the spare time to rest and prepare for the new baby.

Tamlin You really made me giggle about the cocoa butter and ds. My ds who is nearly 4 is showing lots of interest in body parts, especially mine . He likes to have a good look down my top and grab my ever expanding bottom! I'm just waiting for him to pull my top up in public and flash my belly to everyone . He is the cutest though and holds doors open for me and showing a very protective side towards his mum, it's lovely .

Those of you who didn't find out the sex of their baby, have you got an instinct on what you're having? We haven't found out and I've started to refer to the baby as a 'he' and can only think of boys names. I really need to start thinking of girls names!

ErikaMaye · 17/08/2009 11:18

Lemontop Congrats What was the scan like?? I really faniced the idea of one, but DP has refused as he thinks they're "creepy"!!

Sorry to hear that some of you are still being sick I've been feeling a bit off, but haven't actually been sick. Hope you all feel better soon.

Laugs I've started writing

scarlotti · 17/08/2009 11:19

Morning all

Tamli my DS is fascinated with his willy too, although hasn't started on my creams as yet!
hobnob thanks for the spd tips and sorry to hear your DH leaves you carless at times, difficult to get out and about.

My spd is still slight at the moment but I seem to get twinges at the oddest times. Am wondering if part of it is psychsomatic though - had only had a twinge or two before I asked the mw about it, and since she's confirmed it they've increased by about 100%! Am I just imagining things?

Really would like to think about finishing work sooner too, going to look at the finances today and see if there's any way I can shave off a week or two as am feeling quite sorry for myself and want some rest

Last week was a lovely break without the DC's and I was grateful to my Mum for having them, but to drop them off and collect them was a 5 hour round trip each weekend. We stayed over at a friends on Sat to break it up and I had the worst night's sleep ever, so was so exhausted yesterday I could have cried!

It's lovely having them home again though

katster37 · 17/08/2009 11:37

Scarotti sorry to hear you are suffering with SPD. I can't say anything useful except it must be awful, especially with other children around and limited time to rest...

Lemontop eeeek for 4D scan!! Do you mind me asking where you got it done? I would love to, but need to convince DH.

Becky hope you're having a lovely day with friends.

I am awaiting the MW. She is not going to e happy - I have a list of 11 Qs to ask her!! And the cat is always very badly behaved when she's round - last time he properly curled up inside her bad and the time before wouldn't leave her alone. I tried shutting him in the bedroom but he can open the door himself Very demanding boy...

It was my birthday on Saturday but because we were at a wedding all day (3 hours away) I feel like I didn't really have one! I only realised last night that I hadn't opened any cards and DH ran into the bedroom to get my present that he'd obviously forgotten about too Am I being pathetic to feel hard done by?! Also yesterday was meant to be my day of fun, and all we did was go to B and Q and tidy/clean/sort! Grrr. Oh well...

katster37 · 17/08/2009 11:38

PS yep also feel ghastly every morning, til about lunch really. Being sick about twice a week I would guess. Lovely! Also - when are you 'officially' in the third trimester? Is it at 26 or 28 weeks?

lemontop · 17/08/2009 11:51

Had 4D scan at Babybond. We went to the one in Norbury but they have them all over the place. It's not cheap but we got some cash in wedding gifts so decided to treat ourselves. Cos of bleeding etc I'd gone to both previous scans fraught that something was wrong so it was nice to go to this one and relax. It's really a 3D scan. The 4D bit is time cos you get a DVD recording of baby.

I'm having trouble sleeping at night. Had to sleep in spare room last night as baby's head is right up by my ribs and couldn't get comfy.

I really seem to have lost my appetite this trimester which could be due to killer heartburn. If I don't eat I get weirdly emotional too so am trying to eat regularly. Also feeling big now. Going back to work and public transport next week is not going to be fun!

scarlotti · 17/08/2009 12:36

I seem to have lost my appetite too so glad to hear it's not just me. Used to be ravenous in the morning, now I can forget to go for lunch if I'm busy at work. Madness. Although at least it's slowed down the weight gain so am not complaining too much.

Waiting for a piece of work to come through at work and wish it would hurry up. Until then I've just bitty bits to do and it just makes me sit here wishing I could leave already!! Need to get my brain occupied to get me through the next 9 weeks!

ErikaMaye · 17/08/2009 13:12

Happy birthday for Saturday, Katster! We'll throw you an online party

Hope those of you suffering with SPD feel better soon, really sympathise with you. Know its not the same in the slightest, but my ME has started to really flare up, my joints are so painful.

I'm off to Eastbourne for cake with mum... Wish I hadn't suggested it now, as just had a shower and am now exauhsted. Might have to take my wheelchair...

helips · 17/08/2009 13:29

Happy birthday Katster did dh get you anything nice?

BBL have fun visiting your friends, hope the journey doesn't wear you out too much.

Tamlin love the story about your ds, made me lol! little boys are so funny!

Scarlotti sorry to hear about your spd, you must feel so uncomfortable, did your midwife suggest anything that might help?

Sorry, can't remember who asked about those of us who were having a surprise whether we had a feeling about what we were having. I think I might be having another boy, but wonder if I think that because I have one already so can imagine what it will be like. However, still really stuck on boys names so would be easier in that respect if it was a girl!

I have bought my first outfit for the baby and it is soooo cute! It is a little cream babygrow with a giraffe on the front, ds helped me choose it in Waitrose this morning! I keep looking at it and can't believe a little person will fit in it soon!

I had a lovely weekend, had my spa day on friday which was lovely and then me and dh went up to London and left ds with nanny and grandad. We went to the theatre and then had dinner and an early night, I reckon I had about 20 hours sleep this weekend, heavenly! Also, sorry if tmi but finally let dh have his wicked way, first time since being pregnant poor thing! That should keep him going for a few more months

skorpion · 17/08/2009 13:38

Hello All. I hope you're having a nice day. Sorry for thosee who suffer with sickness and spd.

Had such a lovely long weekend. We went to Fairport Cropredy Convention, third year running. It's such a nice festival, we're hoping to go next year, too, as babies and children are very welcome. The weather was brilliant - completely oposite of last year's horrendous wash-out. Saw some great performances, ate way too much food.
And then yesterday had a great time cooking lunch for ten, chilling in the garden and generally being merry. Why can't all the summer have been like this?

scarlotti I can certainly sympathise on the work front. My office job is frustratingly light on the work actually needed to be done. I have the added annoyance that I could be spending all that precious time working in my own business and not spend evenings and weekends catching up! That's why I'm hoping to start maternity well before due date.

sleeplessinthecity · 17/08/2009 14:59

So ladies, have we officially left the blooming stage or what..??? was I ever there??

What is happening? we're all hormonal and a tad stressed..sorry about that. SPD is doing me in at the mo..hormonally up and down and DD being a non sharing nightmare child..have had guests the past3 weeks and am so fed up of washing the linen..had my sis in law and her husband and little girl over for a long weekend..They just left and am shattered..DD hated every minute and is now peacefully playing with her toys..

sorry some of you are sick..i just feel wrecked..Thanks for the SPD tips..it just gets worse and worse..especially in 32 deg everyday..

DH already planning skiing trips for next year..nice to see they have their priorities sorted eh? likelihood of me going anywhere by myself for the next year...NIL...

you ladies with more than 1 DC..how do you do it!?

sleeplessinthecity · 17/08/2009 15:00

OH and Happy Birthday Katster...you should make another day a special one for you...

scarlotti · 17/08/2009 15:38

Belated happy birthday kaster

helips mw said if it got any worse then she'd refer me for physio. I don't see her again now though for 6 weeks so I might just phone and leave a message to say yes please. Am now thinking better to be armed with exercises etc. in case it gets worse.
Must be something to do with being all relaxed too, as DH got lucky twice last week as the dc's were away. Think that's me done now though

sleepless think the dc's struggle after a while when there's lots of guests. Know DS gets to a point where he just wants some peace and quiet to play what he wants, when he wants. Hope your spd eases - mine is minimal but that's painful enough at times so I do sympathise.

skorpion · 17/08/2009 16:05

Meant to say: happy b'day katster, hope you managed to celebrate properly.

Also - welcome mrsbean - the more the merrier I say.

I wondered if anyone else has this? I noticed after a long-ish walk that my tummy muscles below the bump started hurting. It's like a stitch. It's happened more than once and sometimes I wake up in the morning with the ache already there. Would you know what this might be? Would wearing a bump band help? Is this just strained muscles or ligaments with the extra weight to support?

tigger32 · 17/08/2009 17:12

Hello, wow lots to catch up again,

lemontop how exciting about your 4d scan

fruitpastels I have a feeling I'm having another boy, I have 2 stepsons and dh and I have 2 boys together so after 4 boys I'm pretty sure no.5 will be a boy too! Not sure I'd know what to do with a girl.

Sorry for all of you being sick again
kaster Happy birthday for last Saturday, try and book yourself a new birthday date for next weekend and demand lots of treats and attention

Its my 7th Wedding Anniversary today so I'm cooking dh a nice meal, (when we finally get the ds's to bed).
I've also started doing a pregnancy yoga video that I found from my pregnancy with ds1, it is really relaxing and seems to be helping my back a bit.

sleepless sorry you are feeling so worn down, any chance you can have a couple of quiet days to catch up? I have to say that I am really starting to worry about how I am going to cope with 3 children!

tigger32 · 17/08/2009 17:15

Oh scorpion I meant to say, I get this alot and had it with ds2 also, it is apparently down to everything inside stretching, I have thought about a bump band, not sure if it would help or not.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 17/08/2009 18:55

Happy birthday Katster!

Fruitpastels · 17/08/2009 19:16

Skorpion My tummy aches, especially when I've done too much. It normally feels better when I've slept or rested.

Sorry for those with SPD. It sounds painful and miserable.

I've got sciatica and it's been pretty painful. I've had physio which has helped but just making small changes i.e. no hoovering DH has that job now. I've also started walking loads and even though it's painful to begin with it does ease it.

I'm wondering if my thoughts of this baby being a boy is because I have DS. I keep dreaming of a mini DS being born. I don't think I'm allowing myself to think it's a girl, as I would love to have one of each. But having 2 boys would be just as wonderful. I hope I don't get the urge to try for a 3rd baby if this one is a boy

Happy Birthday Katster!

sleeplessinthecity · 17/08/2009 19:28

Thanks folks..messages make the day easier to get through. How did our grandmothers manage pregnancies..mine was prob pregnant for 10 years!..its not much fun..are we doing too much or too little??

fruitpastels sciatica is painful..did it happen with DS1? Skorpion my tummy aches too if I walk too much or am driving too much..I've been back and forth to the Airport more times than I wish this month..only 4 more times to go!

Happy Anniversary tigger!!! 7 years..how amazing..congratulations.

scarlotti · 17/08/2009 19:49

skorpion keep an eye on that as it could be the start of spd. Does the twinge feel as though it's in your bone as opposed to muscle? You'll understand what I mean if it does! If so, then see your mw as that's spd and follow hobnob's advice earlier in the thread.

fruit sorry to hear about the sciatica, hope you're not in too much pain.

tigger my dh comes from a family of boys too - his dad is one of 4 and he is one of 3 so it was inevitable that we'd have 2 boys really. BIL and SIL his side have a girl but they got pg through ivf so all the swimmers had an equal chance in the petrie dish!

sleepless hope your guest run ends soon

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 17/08/2009 19:59

tigger Dh comes from boys too...4 of them, but his mother was 1 of 3 girls and 1 boy and his dad was an only child, so our DD was not too unexpected!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 17/08/2009 20:01

Oh and my mum was the only girl out of 4 other boys, and my dad was 4 boys 1 girl too! So I guess this means all ours are going to be boys now

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 17/08/2009 20:19

has anyone had any leakage?

I stood up to find I was erm, well a bit wet But I had not pissed myself as Dh so delicately put it , it was not incontinence I am sure, there was no sensation and I have had a little more since, not lots, but enough to make me go

I have also felt a bit off colour, v tight belly, headache, just a feeling of not feeling 'well' (DH says thats this pg all over!)

Reckon I should call the midwife for some reassurance? Anyone else had it?

wook · 17/08/2009 20:25

pavlov I had this failry late on in my first pg- I did ring midwife and ended up inb delivery suite being checked out- thought maybe waters had broken. They hadn't, it was just ...er.. excess moisture?! but it was a good opportunity to see the delivery suite and hear the heartbeat etc. I reckon, if in doubt, always phone midwife.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 17/08/2009 20:28

It did make me go re broken waters as this was how my waters broke with DD, just like a little bit of leaking but getting more constant.

This is not so much, but I have had a bit of back pain (not contractions, actually a bit higher up, more discomfort I guess) and now have v v v slight period type ache.

I think i will take some paracetamol, have an early night and see how i feel in the morning. i seem much more of a panicker this pg for some reason
