Scarlotti hope you get the referral soon ? mine came through within two days, though MW did fax it, and the appointment isn?t until 22nd? I?m a shortie as well, at about 5?3, so baby is pushing up under my ribs too.

Becky hope the Christening went well

Pavlov glad to hear your DD settled into nursery already.

mum27 I?d second the suggestion of brave!!

Broodzilla sounds like you?re having a fab time with your MIL Hope she leaves you in peace soon, if not resort to your DHs suggestion, might well work My DPs mother keeps deciding I have different health conditions because she used to be a nurse And yes, ray of sunshine definitely appreciated!!

Venus Welcome We?re a friendly bunch if you can keep up with all the chat!!! I?m a first timer too

Helips glad you had a good time Hope your DS enjoys nursery.

Have let DP out of the dog house ?for-- now, and actually had a very pleasant day, though dosed up on pain killers. He has actually regained some of his sex drive, so went along with it ? bless him, he?s very careful with me because of my ME anyway, though it did hurt a little ? and OH MY GOODNESS I have never been so embarrassed; my boob leaked during sex Absolutely mortified. Luckily it didn?t phase DP in the slightest? But UGH. I?m so embarrassed. Especially after how he?s been recently, was very nice to be so close to him again even just for a few minutes (got too painful) but my hips are killing me now. Ah well. They were hurting anyway!!

Though he?s not QUITE off the hook yet? Gonna be stressed and worried about him the whole time he?s away. Has promised he?ll text me once a day

My support pillow should be here from Mothercare tomorrow ? yey!!! I can?t WAIT, going to make sleeping plausible again!!

By the way, if anyone is needing a new cardigan or coat, Peacocks have some brilliant ones in that only do up to under the boob, so are perfect as maternity ones, without having to pay double the price for the ?maternity? label I bought a lovely one Saturday ? think it was £15? ? its snugly warm and really comfortable. Am pleased

30 weeks tomorrow. Blimey its going quick. Am such a crazy combination of excitement and terror.

Hi scarlotti brave is just another word for mad and there are definitely days I'm sure I'm there .

Yes the almighty hunger, I had a roast the other night followed by a choc self sauce pudding...it was soooo good until I went to bed, then due to the good old pregnancy constipation I was so full I felt sick and couldn't lie down till 2.30 in the morning, guess thats what I get for being a pig . I guess it's also a good thing I have diabetes as this stops me eating like that all the time or I'd be the size of a house by November

beepbeep · 07/09/2009 07:29

Morning!!

Welcome to the newbies.

Kyte - your last birth sounds pretty horrendous - i really hope things are better for you this time. At least with a CS they are more controlled.

Good to hear about the eating - happening here too - just had a huge slice of apple upside down cake whilst getting DCs their breakfast!

Went to the forest fair yesterday and spent all our life savings on the fairground rides for DD! Was good fun and DH managed to find the wychwood's brewery bar so all was well.

Back to me and the DCs today, unfortunately we've got to wait in for a bloody DHL delivery - anytime between 9 and 5.30 - joy! so we have some soup to make, lots of washing to do and try to stop the kids driving me insane.

Never been sick durng labour - tho can imaginehow the gas and air would do that to some people. So far I have never found the pain that bad so have only used about 5 mins og G&A each time which is maybe why i haven't reacted to it (fingers crossed it goes the same way this time).

Trikken · 07/09/2009 07:34

beepbeep I hope they come at 9 on the ot so you dont have to wait in all day!

beepbeep · 07/09/2009 07:49

Thanks Trikken -so do I!!

Decided to revise my last post -wasn't that I found the pain 'that bad' cause it was bloomin horrendous, but that it wasn't unbearable!

morning all

How is everyone doing?

Am still feeling quite rubbish this end - think it's down to lack of sleep and then discomfort during the day. Seem to be waking up during the night now with pains in my thighs and arms, almost as if the weight of me is too much for my limbs to bear all night long - anyone else got anything like this? I seem to just ache all over.

Feeling a bit sorry for myself as a result and taking it out on dh a bit. Someone come on and tell me to snap out of it please!

beepbeep · 07/09/2009 09:19

Scarlotti - I know how you feel, am having one of those days too and could just take myself back to bed, Dcs pick up on it and DD is playing up a bit, just being a bit of a monkey and DS has another tooth coming through so is whinging for England, sometimes I think we just need days to feel sorry for ourselves!! How about going out for a walk or suggesting going out for a drink with your DH tonight? I sometimes find if I do something like that or have something to look forward to it sort of snaps me out of it for a while.

Just made some Romani soup - smells quite nice but looks vile!!! Have aload of DH's shirts to iron and still not put any washing on, will motivate myslef soon!

Koumak · 07/09/2009 09:25

Good morning all,
I came back from 2 week holidays last week and it has taken me a whole week to catch up! God am I happy I managed to be back before the new thread starts or I wouldn?t be able to find you .... unless in most active as usual...
Will try to post again a bit later in the day. Can you tell I am in the office?

wook · 07/09/2009 09:39

Scarlotti you are definitely not the only one feeling out of sorts, or whose DH is getting a bit of a hard time. I feel very out of sorts, not myself at all- or not a positive version of myself anyway!

Kyte welcome- poor you on your previous labour, it sounds horrendous. The loss of control over it must have been distressing if you had planned a home birth. Loss of control over events is what I am hoping to avoid this time, so I am with you on bossy birth plans! I just hope to know the size of the baby before I start this time, that will let me know what to expect a bit more maybe!

I don't know whether to be or but waved ds off on his first day at school about half an hour ago. Felt VERY emotional- end of one era, start of another! The teacher and TA were lovely with him and he seemed to settle very quickly so fingers crossed!

wook · 07/09/2009 09:41

Ooh yes, sick in labour- I was sick after the injection to deliver the placenta.

Never thought that the moment I was covered in sick, blood and poo (well, meconium anyway) would be one of the happiest of my life!!!

skorpion · 07/09/2009 09:43

Morning all, welcome newbies!

beepbeep what's Romani soup?

Had a nice weekend, in-laws round for Sunday lunch, lovely day. Unfortunately I had to do some tidying beforehand and completely did my back in. The very lowest part of it gives me hell. What on earth am I going to do for the next 12 weeks? The mat leave before the birth is my time to sort everything out. I can't possibly end up immobile after a couple hours' physical work! Mind you... would get me out of housework, dh was very sympathetic

mumsiebumsie · 07/09/2009 09:49

Scarlotti wish I could tell you to snap out of it but all I can actually do is sympathise - as I am really aching too. My right side (the side I usually sleep on) is so sore and painful. I feel like I weigh 200 pounds (probably because I do ) and it's almost like my weight is too much for my hips. So I toss and turn all night and wake up really irritable and achey.

Rather than give me a hug goodbye DH has taken to shouting "I'm off" from the front door giving me no opportunity to respond. Feel bad though as I'm grumpy and he's getting the fall out from it.

More postive note - hello newbies!

beepbeep · 07/09/2009 09:54

Skorpion - it's spices, pepper & tomato with onions, garlic and paprika - looks nice on the recipe, but I haven't 'wizzed' mine yet so huge lumps of tomato and pepper!

Just got off phne to DH - I realised over the w/e that he will be working all the weekends I am on mat leave before my due date (only 2), but i find them really tough going whilst pregnant and looking after the 2 little ones (means fri - tues on my own with them) so so much for geting some rest! I might extend my time at work, it's more relaxing!! Anyway have asked him if there would be any chance of him swapping the sat & sun from one of them (think it's a bit much to expect work to allow both weekends swapped)! He also has to look at working from a closer station nearer the birth, my labours tend to be quite quick and although both have been at night, if this one was during the day and it wasn't any quicker than DS's, then we wouldn't have time to get the kids off to his parents, him home and to the hospital - the MW has talked about having a home birthing kit at home just in case and also about calling an ambulance - bit scary!!

ErikaMaye · 07/09/2009 10:36

Kyte welcome! Your last birth sounds absolutely terrible, hope this one is a lot better for you.

Beepbeep hope they turn up ASAP! And that your DH can switch some of his times around.

Scarlotti lots of sympathy from this end Really hope you feel better soon. x

Koumak ohh did you enjoy your holiday?

Wook aww. I think its okay to be both, must be very odd.

Skorpion glad to hear you had such a nice weekend

Mumsiebumsie hope you find a way to get some comfortable sleep soon.

Everyone has gone back to work and school today - its SO nice!! I love my family, but having been ill for 20 months now, I'm used to be by myself at home, and having everyone around for six weeks has been my idea of Hell I'm used to just seeing them in the evenings!!!

Very grouchy today here too. No particular reason, just feeling grumpy. Might have to murder the dog if he doesn't stop barking at the Direct Line advert Thing is, he KNOWS its the TV! He stands there and barks at the TV. Bloody animal...

On a positive note, Mum was grinning for hours last night after she got a punch in the face from my belly She does make me laugh. She's a five year old stuck in a 46 year olds body sometimes, I swear!!! "Hello Nelson, its Mops here... Umm... I bought you a sandpit! And I made you a buggy park! And now I'm going to sing to you... Ummm... Hey hey we're the monkeys..!"

Had a terrible nightmare last night about tearing really badly, and everyone just stood there and laughed at me, including the baby, while I bled I am not going to miss the vivid dreams after baby is born!!

Is anyone else having nose bleeds? I heard they're quite common, just that mine are getting worse and its really starting to annoy me. (Well, most things are annoying me today, to be fair...)

Hope you're all well. x

mumsiebumsie · 07/09/2009 10:53

Erika I'm getting nose bleeds. One today and the other last week. Was going to ask Midwife about it tomorrow. Didn't realise they were a pregnancy sympton. Do you know if it's a sign of high blood pressure or just another part of the various ills we have to put up with!

Was just worried as haven't had a nose bleed since I was about 11 years old!

scarlotti · 07/09/2009 11:05

Ah, thanks ladies, nice to know I'm not alone. Feeling a little brighter now I'm up and showered

Nose bleeds are common, it's something to do with the blood vessels in your nose being more dilated and so easier to burst. Yet another joy eh? Sorry to hear you're both suffering erika and mumsie Mumsie my dh takes the head in the sand option too with me in the morning. Am sure it's self preservation on his part but it does leave me feeling a bit on my own with it all. He can't win though

beepbeep hope your dh gets to swap his weekends.

ErikaMaye · 07/09/2009 11:05

Mumsie Don't think its a sign of high blood pressure, as mine has been pretty near perfect all the way through pregnancy. Its mentioned in all the books I've read, so wouldn't worry unless they're really heavy. Mine only tend to last a few minutes, its just bothersome!

mumsiebumsie · 07/09/2009 11:13

Thanks Erika and Scarlotti - they're very light but was just shocked to see the blood. Will still mention it tomorrow at midwife appointment but not worried now .
