Hi all

OMG crumpette i don't even know these people and and want to punch them, good on you for keeping your cool i would have been sacked by now.

i also have days when i don't have much movement but like i've posted before my placenta is at the front so mw said i won't feel much until it gets bigger.

liny i've been missed of the list and my illiterate computer brain doesn't know how to add my self.
Due 16th Jan (DS 16yrs, DD 11yrs DD 7yrs DD 6yrs) No 5 is a suprise

hooray - itchy boob seem to be getting better. and 11 weeks to go to mat leave - not that i'm counting (much)

about pets, my daughters rabbit was attacked by the other two rabbits whilst giving birth - baby died and she had big cut - took her to vets to have it stitched but she died whilst under anaethestic - got a bill for £129 and no rabbit, have also got to replace rabbit and new hutch to separate them, also have two cats, 1 had miscarraige and had to be spayed bill £156 - no insurance so bummer. but i do love em. sometimes more than kids lol.

hope everyone is doing well

I get a bit of pain when I have to walk a long way, and this is my third. (I'm 23 weeks now)
The thing that's more of a pain is DS2 who throws major wobblys because I won't carry him to & from nursery. Yesterday he screamed for the full 10 minute walk. argh!!

Baby kicked DH yesterday. I was quite excited, but he seemed not too bothered

crumpette · 23/09/2009 09:23

thanks anniemac the people, er, making waves around me obviously see me as a. disposable because I am pregnant and b. a bit of a threat anyway. They aren't doings TCs at all and the 2 concerned don't even have LLBs or any relevant training. I really want to finish the TC and qualify and then reassess everything. Have written ''nuclear'' email which lists the current problems referred to by b*tch colleague and also lists my grievances of everything (that I can remember) since I went back, salary, nastiness, etc.
DP thinks I should send it to protect my job and position, but it really is nuclear and will I'm sure be followed by lots of meetings ets, and I don't really want that stress. ooh don't know what to do

mama I don't have spd but have heard that those support belt things are really helpful, they support the ligaments and lower back or something like that.. ok I don't really know but try not to worry and try not to do lifting etc which will put more strain on you

crumpette · 23/09/2009 09:25

anniemac think I will accost practice manager today and ask about my position, I have asked in numerous emails for clarification and never had a response which is worrying. Thanks again for letting me vent everyone

bethoo · 23/09/2009 09:43

iateallthecreameggsyummy i am 25 and a half weeks almost now, since i have been living off a diet of chips, take outs, chocolate and full at coke for the past month add on top no excercise apart from walking i am fearing the worst so once i hit the third trimester (next week) i am back ot healthy living! my thighs wobble even when not moving which says it all ladies! so i have officially til sunday to binge/over eat/ let myself go!!! any suggestions for very sinful food? oh and a big mac meal is an essential part of my healthy eating regime (pregnancy excuse as i lllllooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvveeeeeeee big macs!

quirkychick · 23/09/2009 10:36

Oh crumpette good luck with your practice manager. I'm so sorry you are having a nightmare at work at the moment. Is it worth, as previously suggested, to post on employment issues to get other MNers advice?

bethoo I too am only walking, dd to pre-school and back. It knackers tires me out and the thought of much else is beyond me.

I definitely have hearburn/bloating/terrible wind . Not at all comfortable. I know it's all only going to get worse as I get bigger... pregnancy is so glamorous.

somewhathorrified · 23/09/2009 10:44

crumpette I'm not sure the dictataphone is a good idea! There are issues to do with privacy, unless you say get permission to record them first. You could find yourself getting sacked for misconduct. If you want to stay then I'd suggest going to see the HR manager, explain the situation and see if you can come to some agreement, e.g would it be possible for you to work from home etc. It's situations like these when trade unions are a great help. The CAB might be able to help tho.

bethoo I don't think I've eated anything healthy since I got pregnant. I figure what makes me happy is good for me....mmm mint choccy penguins!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 23/09/2009 11:19

Can anyone tell me what the myth is regarding heartbeats? I seem to recall that if its between a and b it's a girl and if its between c and d for example, its a boy.

Anyone?

devotion · 23/09/2009 11:39

Hello CantThinkofFunnyName,

A myth it is.

When pregnant with my second child I asked the midwife at one of my checks about this. She said that boys tend to have slower heart beats to girls.

When she listened to the heart beat she said it was near the slow end at 140bpm and that suggested a boy. My friend who was also pregnant had a much higher heart rate - we both had girls... although my little girl is quite a tomboy

I am interested to ask this again, all this guessing is fun.

I reckon I am having a girl because this is my third, third babies tend to be bigger and boys tend to be bigger and my bump is not that big.

All the mums on here who do not know the sex of their babies should all guess by the old myths and see which were right.

x

Thanks devotion. Well I have my 25 wk mw appt tomorrow so will check the heart rate - but last count was around 140bpm, which fits with my gut feeling of having a boy. My first was a boy and TMI alert - I had awful constipation with him - and I have it again!! I put on 4 st with him and have put on 2st already with this one, plus we agreed on a boys name immediately yet are still struggling to make a decision on a girls name. My second, we decided on a girls name immediately but couldn't agree on a boys, and my gut feeling all the way through was that she was a girl.

Getting a little excited now wondering what flavour its going to be!

timmette · 23/09/2009 11:57

crumpette what a terrible time you are having - would you not consider getting proper legal advice on where you stand - I really think it might be worthwhile. I know there are a few legal people on mumsnet who might be able to help.
bethoo also not doing the healthy eating thing and also only walking ds to school and back I have decided to be healthy from Sat when I do the next food shop.

Mama2b5 · 23/09/2009 12:13

Thanks Crumpette, sockmonkey im reading about it but am refusing to accept it quite yet will use wisdom but am going to try taking it much easier( which means more work for the rest of the kids and hubby while feet up)
devotion must remember that when i go for scan -i so want a boy!
My friend went for her scan at 17 weeks and has found out shes having a boy am so happy for her, but know the pressure is on me more so want to know friday seems so far away and he also may be camera shy! was a little bit green because while i have to have 2 scans to find out she found out in just 1 and shes not as far along as me!
my eating habit is so strange i like something 1 minute and hate it the next!
This whole work thing is nuts but agree with comment go see if you can work from home the stress aint good for you or baby!
Im also not on the list - do i add myself on?

sockmonkey · 23/09/2009 16:54

I have been really lusting after coal again. I ate it with my last two, but they were summer babies & I had access to BBQ stuff. I don't know where to get any from this time. I was awake last night for ages just remembering how good it tasted.
Why can't I crave ice cubes or something easy to get hold of!!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 23/09/2009 17:25

sockmonkey - my mum craved coal with me and my brothers and sisters - urgh. Must be hell for you.

From my side - TENA lady is my new best friend!

Mama2b5 · 23/09/2009 19:22

HELLO - still confused - how do i get on this list!!!!!!!!!!

Also - CTOFN - im with you tena lady is the best, when im full my bladder just lets go also when i sneeze, cough or laugh!

crumpette I can't imagine how you're staying sane with such horrible work colleagues, I agree with all the other posters re. dictaphone, also save all those horrible emails so you can build a case (and write comments down if easier with names and dates etc.). I can understand women putting career before children through personal preference: the majority of acdemics I work with are male, and female colleagues either have no children, grown-up children, or - like me - have more of a supporting/management role than academic role. No one makes snide comments about my choices though - I'm v happy to say. If you can bear it and stay sane, then I can see why you would want to stay to receive the pay you're due. Alternatively, perhaps you could speak to your GP about the stress you're under - you may be eligible to be signed off for weeks due to a stressful work environment - which could take you up to mat leave?

mama if you copy the list and add your details, then add to a post, that will be the 'latest' list. Re. SPD, don't worry about it starting too early - my pelvis started to 'click' apart at 16 weeks! After pain at 20 weeks I asked for referral for physio. I posted on the advice I'd had before seeing the physio a few posts back (under my log-in), the physio gave me a belt and similar advice again, mainly keep your legs together where possible, particularly if you've just been sleeping/sitting and ligaments will have relaxed. If you haven't already seen a physio, ask your GP for referral as they check that it's just straight-forward SPD, and will also keep your records if you need to see them as have v. bad pain at end of preg and after your due date (giving birth can make it worse, but usually makes it much better).

Hi Crumpette,
Sounds horrible at work. From my point of view and its up to you whether you find this helpful but here goes: I guess theres two issues. The one about whether your firm has demoted you because you are pregnant needs careful judgement about hw far you should/need to play along. Its all very well to say they shouldnt but they may well have covered their asses for legal purposes and you might need them unless you are willing to go somewhere else for your training. So make a decision on whether or not you will play ball on that front and if you play ball will signal that os they knw theres no trouble brewing there and perhaps they can be a bit lenient about you needing extra time etc for ante natal appts. I hvae to admit that I have some sympathy for your employers, if you have difficult cases you may not want ot give these to a colleague who may suddenly have to dash off to hospital..you could make your longer term career concerns known to someone sympathic. The salary cut is mean but really you need to decide whether you want to burn your bridges there (potentially) or not. If not you need to make that clear and you need to stick to that.

The bullying issue. Doesnt need judgement so much as your enemies are your peers rather than your employers so inform management. But be carefulS, show them emails etc and ask initially for advice about how you should handle this plus agree a timeframe in which you will try to handle your bitchy colleagues as they suggest. Once that has elapsed and if no progress go back to management and ask them to intervene. they do have a duty of care towards you as their trainee I suspect. But start slow, get them on your side.

If you go in too hard they may decide you are the problem and it could be difficult to swing things into your favour after that.

Good luck.
