Diege has just rung. We are going to meet on Friday now. Which is fab as Thursday is pay day and dh is off on Friday so can help me with the bus.

essenceofSES · 10/08/2009 11:00

Morning!

IDOB - sorry your NCT course was disappointing. One of the main benefits for us was meeting other people about to go through the same thing. Sounds like you got that though.

Kay - shame you've had to change your plans but maybe the weather willl be better on Fri too?!

Bumps - that's hilarious about your DP's pooy face

DS has his second lot of jabs this afternoon but first we have a trip to the park for another exercise session. I don't really want to go but I know I should. I'm just so unfit compared with the others and feel like I lag behind, especially with the running.

idreamofbeanie · 10/08/2009 11:16

Morning Ses, I hope you enjoy your session in the park. It's hard if you think you're not as fit - I was always the slowest one at rugby training - but just keep telling yourself you are probably benefitting more as you have to work harder. Not sure if it's true but made me feel better .

The other couples on our NCT course were lovely and meeting other mums-to-be was the main reason I went so I'm not too bothered about the course. Just had an e-mail from one lady asking if I want to go to Bumps and Babes with her which is lovely .

I have so much to do this morning, I want to catch up on all my paperwork but I'm just not at all motivated so lurking on here instead .

tinkisback · 10/08/2009 12:53

idreamofbeanie - great snack for after labour - take some maltesers in little plastic pots i enjoyed mine after i had given birth

dress wise will probably go with 3 button dresses or 2 button ones and one courd dress
think i will be getting tights from them 2 even though they are very exspensive!!
have browsed other websites seem to just do patterned tites or plain but the wrong colour

glad nct went well we did nct first time around and i still meet up with one of the ladies that i met there

enjoy park ses

Kayzr · 10/08/2009 14:34

IDOB, I took Kendal Mint cake to have during and after labour with DS1. Which was good as the hospital gave me nothing at all. Lucozade is really good for while you are in labour. That way if you can't bring yourself to eat(I couldn't with DS2) it will give you energy.

idreamofbeanie · 10/08/2009 14:38

Thanks for the suggestions Kay and Tink. As long as we stay at home I'll have plenty of snack options but suppose I had better make sure we have some bits that can be chucked in the hospital bag just in case. I'll pass those on to DP for his list as who knows what I'll end up with otherwise. He actually asked me yesterday if I thought it would be better to use the motorbike if we have to go to hospital so we don't get stuck in traffic and .

Kayzr · 10/08/2009 14:45

LOL!! That is quite funny. If you need to go to hospital the mw will ring an ambulance so you won't need to worry about transport.

idreamofbeanie · 10/08/2009 14:55

I know but bless him he is just trying to be prepared for any problems (e.g. no midwife available to attend homebirth or me changing my mind). Some of the stuff he is coming out with is a bit crazy but I know he just wants to make sure he can look after me (and the baby) during labour so I'm trying not to laugh too much .

Kayzr · 10/08/2009 15:07

That is very good. DH only came round to the idea of a homebirth when I was 38 weeks. Now like me he would never want me to have another hospital birth.

DS2's hair is starting to go like DS1's. It's getting more wavey.

tinkisback · 10/08/2009 16:08

forgot about lucoazde i had the tablets and found polos good

Sparklytwinkletoes · 10/08/2009 21:27

Hi everyone! Sorry for being AWOL for so long, I've been madly busy, mostly with DS as we're still trying to get his new bedroom finished off! Although, we got the bed in for friends to stay in over the weekend, and its still there so he went in for the first time last night and slept through without waking! Hurrah! Lets see if it can duplicated...two uninterrupted nights would be nice

Although, having said that, at 32 weeks, I'm now really struggling quite badly with insomnia, normally getting to sleep is my problem, but last night, I fell asleep OK, but woke at 5 and couldn't get back, despite being tired.... eventually I went and crawled into bed with DS (its a double) and fell straight to sleep... And yes, the words rod and back have occurred to me!

I finally found some nice curtains, just what I was looking for, nautical (red, white and blue) but without any direct references to boats in, so its really flexible. I bought a plain black out blind, which we fitted for my friends at the weekend - still need to get them shortened and am hoping to recruit MIL to do it help out

Only a few weeks to go to my consultant appt when she was talking about doing a stretch & sweep... we're so not ready for baby yet though!

Am really struggling to sit comfortably. I have a ball, but I can't sit on it and use my laptop. I can't sit on my sofa because the seats slope back as well as the back - a real reclining, lazy persons sofa...which is not great for fetal positioning..

When my bump is stretching, I go on all fours, but think I must be really feeble, because I can't seem to hold it for very long before my arms get tired - queue using birthing ball... but them when I lean over it, my norks get squashed and they're quite sensitive!

I can't win... grump grump grump...

Moosy I have sent you an email and here is the link I was talking about. The support should be in the same place as the one here but the your one should come a little higher as it has the 3 straps. The top one would come to the same place as the ladies knickers on this link... here

Morning everyone we have a busy day here so wont be on much today..

Sparklytwinkletoes · 11/08/2009 10:07

Tink, just looking at the number of links you've posted tires me out - nevermind reviewing them all for you. I'm sure they'll be lovely, you have good taste. Has anyone mentioned you may have a shopping addiction?

Is third trimester supposed to be this exhausting? I slept loads over the weekend and have had DS home with me yesterday and today (he was very stroppy trying yesterday so extra tiring, I guess). Today, i've managed to doze on and off in bed whilst he watched tv (in our bedroom on our telly) and now he's turfed me out of bed.... but fortunately he wants to watch toy story - fine with me! Will have to go to the park with him later though, he needs some exercise!

like to keep you busy

oh yes well away i was born 2 shop

cheers fro looking

yes very normal for last trimester to be tiring and sounds like u r busy 2 with room etc. put you feet up that is an order

idreamofbeanie · 11/08/2009 10:39

Hi Sparkly, I'm exhausted and I don't have a LO to run around after. You sound as though you have been very busy too so I'm not surprised you are feeling it. I am also struggling to get a good nights sleep, it takes me ages to fall asleep then I wake up because I need ANOTHER trip to the loo or I have heartburn or my hip aches so I need to rearrange pillows and turn over or I'm too hot despite all windows open, fan on and no covers. Grump, grump, grump. I'm only 33 weeks and already getting a bit sick of this pregnancy lark - it's almost making labour look good .

Tink - go on, send off your shopping order . I'm going to send my DD to you when she complains I only ever buy her jeans, T-shirts and rugby tops .

I had a couple of e-mails yesterday from the girls we met on the NCT course arranging to meet up for a Bumps and Babes morning then to meet for dinner in a couple of weeks. I'm really glad that even though the course was very short we met some really nice people.

tinkisback · 11/08/2009 11:22

beanie not ordering bits till 15th of sept

Moosy · 11/08/2009 11:32

Thank you for the email LB, I think I've worked it out now! It's typical, but ever since you sent it to me I haven't been hurting so much, however I have just pushed the DDs to the village and back so I'm bound to start aching lots later and will probably be very glad for it

Tink, DD2 had the 3rd pair of shoes that you linked to, they were very nice

STT, yes it's perfectly normal to be exhausted all the time, especially when it's hot like today.

IDOB, I second whoever suggested lucozade tablets, they were great when I had DD1 (very long labour) as I wasn't allowed to eat anything but they kept me going.

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 11/08/2009 12:00

Morning, another quickie while DS1 breathes down my neck!

Got a man coming to fix our hoover, am quite impressed, it's a Dyson, had it about 6 years, about 2 weeks ago it packed up (started making a popping noise and then burning smell came out of it), asked on here about a good cheap hoover to keep us going till we'd moved and could afford a proper one again, someone linked to a site about Dyson's, and it turns out if your Dyson packs up after the 5 year warrenty expires, you're to ring Dyson, they will come out to your house, replace any parts that need replacing, and provide a 12 month warrenty on those parts, and all for £63 Am really pleased because I know lot's of people don't like Dyson's, but this hoover has done us well, the first time we actually cleaned out any of the filters, which are supposed to be cleaned out every 6 months, was yesterday! It's on 3 or 4 times a day, it's picked up more than it said it should (plaster dust, bit's of rubble, bit's of lego, a pen, a car, glitter, kids ) it's fallen down the stairs more than once, and it fell off the back of DH's van once, and it's always gone on bless it!

Anyway, have bloke coming out, as soon as he's been and gone am going to take kids to park, might even trundle on into town and treat them a bit.

Have gorgeous house to go look at on Saturday, anyone want to see? Loads of links for it, but they are all for the same house:

This is it for sale, click brochure for more details!

This is it for rent, click brochure for even more details!

And this is who has built it The proper floor plans are there.

Am a little bit excited about this one, can you tell?!! I might well have linked to it before, but it's still available, and if it stays available till the end of the month, I am going to be in it quicker than Lightning McQueen can say Kerchow or whatever he bloody well says

So much for a quickie!!, Promise I will catch up properly with everyone when DH sort's the bug thingymebob out xxx

Sparklytwinkletoes · 11/08/2009 12:17

Lightning - we've just bought cars for DS - anything for a break from toy story and ice age! We've bought a fair few dvd's actually, but not given them to him yet. I'll eek them out as bribery as and when required - will probably give him one when we go to see the relly's next week, should give me some peace for the journey.

Houses look good, although I couldn't make either of the right move links work.

Am going to go to mothercare this afternoon to look at their pyjamas. I have a voucher so it makes sense to get them from there if its the right thing - I want a three part set, a breastfeeding cami type top, pj bottoms and a cardi / jacket type robe thing to cover up with.

I've also ordered some trousers from blooming marvellous as am now spending most of my day in my nightie as I have no trousers to wear! The only pair that stays up is in the wash, not tumble dry'able so waiting for them to dry!

I think I'm going to start sorting out the baby's clothes this week after all - have thought that I have a couple of options, either, (once washed and dried etc) I can put them in the cot now DS isn't using it anymore (as have no drawers yet) or I could fold and put away into a hold all.. I guess that might be better for keeping dust free etc? What do you reckon.

32 weeks now - is it time to pack bag yet? It seems early, but then I think I left it till about 39 weeks last time, which I feel could be a little late!

DS and I have 'made' a crumble (emptied a few tins of fruit filling and added some very tired blueberries into a dish and sprinkled over some ready to use topping ), its just come out of the oven and smells delicious! Wish I had some whipped cream to go with it...

Sorry - dashing on briefly in between visitors. Had my brother + his finacee staying Sat, friends from Oz last 2 nights, have a break tonight and then one of my best girlies tomorrow night, then MIL for Thurs and Fri night. Think that's busy enough at 37 weeks??! It's the washing that gets me the most!!

STT - I am premanently knackered too... DD has just about dropped her daytime sleep now so we have an hour of CBeebies so I can doze for a bit. I haven't packed a bag yet, but planning to do so after guest-influx. Didn't have one last time and got caught short when I had to go in after DD was born. NOT wearing DH's baggy joggers again and would like a nice outfit ready for new baby!

Will be back to catch up properly later hopefully. x
