Moosy · 03/08/2009 17:52

Have been to the Hell that is Brewsters this afternoon, poor DD2 had her hair pulled, smacked in the face, a scratched face and a split lip. What a lovely place it is!

DH has just gone out for Chinese though so it's not all bad

tinkisback · 03/08/2009 18:55

oh moosy sorry to hear you didnt have fun

enjoy your chinese sounds less hell

GYo · 03/08/2009 20:14

Oh no moosy, sounds like a weird day what with the alternative artwork and the scrapes at the softplay thing. Hope the chinese is doing its job

Im still having phantom pregnancy symptoms - so weird but they are definately phantom but its really bizarre.

So far had movements felt during the night and those weird knitting needles up fanjo pains... (I remember those being a hot topic last summer ) and heartburn again after cereal in the morning. Maybe I'm having flashbacks to this time last year when I was about 8wks preg!

GYo, I get it alot, i've done 6 pg tests in the last 3 months. But all have been bfn so not sure what is causing it.

Moosy sorry for your bad day.

DS2 has returned to his bad sleeping. He just won't go to sleep and muggins here is the one who sits next to his cot for 45 minutes while DH watches the tv.

bumpsnowjustplump · 03/08/2009 20:49

Evening all. Back from a lovely day out with dcs and my cousin and his family. Had picnic in the park, played ball games, and then went for a long walk around the lake... It was lovely and Jessica has flaked out now......

DS has hardly fed at all. I offered it to him every hour and he would latch on but 2 mins later he would come off, be sick and then lose interest.... Not sure what is wrong but he is chewing non stop so hope to see a tooth tomorrow!!!!

I am taking my mum to Leeds castle for lunch tomorrow, and then picking up my car.... I am so excited and will then be showing it off to anyone who takes notice he he he he.... So i may not be on tomorrow at all

Starshinetiger · 04/08/2009 05:29

Morning all! DH is firmly in doghouse. After several nights of DD waking maximum 2 hourly for feeds (albeit she was just feeding and then going back down again), she finally went 3.5 hours to her first feed tonight and then another over 3 hours to her next feed - hurrah. Only she woke again at 4.40am - grrr. Sat down to feed her, but could hear intermittent beeping. Eventually figured that it might be monitor off hook downstairs and out of battery. Think she might have dropped back off though, but then DS laughed several times in his sleep - but cute too!). Dumped DD with DH and came downstairs to investigate - yep, he left monitor on table next to where he was sat in lounge - I left it there when I went to bed before him. He also left louunge door to stairs open, just to make sure we could all hear it beeping!! Am not a happy bunny, as I sit here with DD in bouncer next to me, wide awake. Did try putting her back in cot, but she's not interested, so have given in and come downstairs. Good blardy job he's off work today to take his fair share.

So, off my grump box now - Bumps, glad for good day, but sorry for DS' low feeding, hope he still slept well tonight.

May as well do syndicate while I'm here!

Forgotten all I red yesterday now and DD is demanding attention

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 04/08/2009 08:59

Good morning

Oh my goodness me, can't believe I've missed a birth ! HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to LBox and Mr. Lbox and family, well done you!! Sound's like he took his time about it, am sure it's being a boy you know, they don't get much better in the time keeping stakes! Lovely name as well Did your parents make it on time?

Am so sorry, have tried reading through everything, but even the bit that I read has flown right out of my head.

And also sorry for abandoning the wagon for a while, have just had so much going on, and it's not over yet. Am juggling the three amigos whilst cleaning house from top to bottom getting it ready to put on the market, am instructing the estate agents today to get on with the HIP pack, they are just going to have to wait for the photo's though, with all the sodding rain the gardens are in desparate need of a mow and the bushes need trimming back again, am hoping we'll have at least a dry couple of days if not warm, just dry will do so we can get them done.

Also have my theory test on Saturday (Kayz, how's the driving going?) have done a few of the practice ones and passed them all, so not too bothered, but would be just my luck for the first one I fail to be the real thing! And the driving lessons came to a halt, cancelled my last lesson because of the swine flu hitting us all, and have only just managed to get a new regular slot on a Tuesday evening starting next week, but am quite willing to book every irregular slot he has in the evenings for the next few weeks to make up for it!

Elsewhere, DS3 has come out of the "I am such a chilled baby who will just sit here and watch the other mugs run around after me" stage and is on a "constant attention seeking I will cry and scream and sound like your strangling me until you pick me up and/or feed me" In fact think that is the key, as long as he has a bottle/spoon/veg stick hanging out of his mouth, he's happy!

We bought him one of those activity centre thingy's, DS1 had one and loved it, Mikey is quite impressed for about 10 minutes!

DH has his snip on the 19th And it's his bday tomorrow, have got really crappy pressie for him, gonna play it really cool like "sorry darling, we've just got so much going on, I've not had time to sort anything proper" kind of thing, surprise him with bottle of wine etc. in the evening to 'make up for shitty pressie', but I've arranged a baby sitter for Saturday night, am going to to take him out for a meal and go on for a drink after Will be the first time we've been out together at night since wayyyyyyy before I was pregnant with DS2 so am looking forward to that

Oh and we've come up with a great way to make some extra money, in a 'get rich quick scheme' sort of way It's not illegal, it's not cheating, it's not robbing anyone or a bank, but it is so far working, we spent about an hour doing it last night, and we made about 20 quid, so obviously it takes some time, but if we do it for a couple of hours a night, and a bit more at the weekend, we'd be on to some fairly serious money, and it's tax free - legitimately! Am going to keep at it for a couple of weeks, see if it will actually work out and then for anyone that is interested I'll email you the details, don't really want to let anyone into it until we're fairly sure it would keep working, if we end up losing, or if anyone follows us and they end up losing, we'll feel like right dicks. LOL I feel all naughty Don't know why, because it isn't. But it feel's like it is! LOL

Anyway, think I have probably won the medal for the longest rambliest(is that a word? It should be!) post for the day so I will erm... get me coat!

Oh, one quick moan.... they started digging up our road, with one of those propper jumpy digger things at 7.21am this morning, I was up anyway but would have been very very very annoyed if I'd have been asleep! 7.21! Fuckers!

Right, am gone! xxx

Kayzr · 04/08/2009 09:09

Driving is going quite well. Should be going out tonight but forecast torrential rain. But I have a 2 hour lesson on Thursday which I am looking forward too. I am tempted to have 2 lessons a week so I learn extra quick.

I would be very interested in making extra money if it works! Could maybe afford a better car then!

sorky · 04/08/2009 10:13

Harumph! I'm not having any luck in finding a cleaner, can anyone help? Any tips?
I wonder if goodhousekeeping has any suggestions....

Good luck with the theory test and lessons Nat, hope your Dh manages the snip post-op period better than mine

sorry about the sleeplessness Star, I hope she finds a decent pattern soon

Starshinetiger · 04/08/2009 10:34

Morning Sorky/Kayz/Lightning (Lightning - think that's the first name change you've had since the wagon began?!)

All sounding good Lightning, which is fab, am so pleased for you.

Sorky - sorry no joy on cleaner. Could you try one of the firms in yellow pages? My only experience when I was first back at work after DS ended with me finding an excuse to stop her coming as she wasn't cleaning to my standards - those standards which have dropped dramatically now I'm at home alone with DS and DD!! I think I'd probably go with a company next time for more reassurance/comeback.

Well, glad I got up with DD, as she really wasn't sleepy, but then she got sleepy again at about 6, so fed her back to sleep by 6.15am then she woke again at 6.40!! DH redeemed himself by getting up with her and DS and I stayed in bed til 8.10am so not all bad - he has now taken DS out to holiday activities and DD is asleep for her nap, so all positive

So, anyone got any advice/tips for me? Last night was better than the previous few until she fully woke up at 4.40am, so think maybe she's been going through a 20 week growth spurt? Anyway, she's now been down for a nap since 9.15am (fed to sleep), which is unheard of (maybe due to being awake in early hours). Thing is she woke up about 20 mins into nap - I peered in on her before my shower and her legs were in the air in her sleeping bag, but couldn't see her face. Thought - bugger it, I'm going for a quick shower - when I came out, all quiet, but she is lying on her front and I can hear her breathing - maybe I should put her down on her front? When she wakes in night, she always rolls to her front - does anyone else put their LO to sleep on their front? Also anyone else's LO feed to sleep? I know at 20 weeks she probably shouldn't and if she wasn't going 3 hours at night (and has been known to go 5.5 on the odd occasional night), so I figured she is still waking up hungry. Any tips on progressing away from feeding to sleep, or do I not worry about this until she weaning? With DS, I stressed myself out about getting him not to go to sleep while feeding and I figured this contributed to my giving up bfing at 18 weeks, so am reluctant to go too far down this path with DD. I know I'm rambling, but any advice/tips welcome!

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 04/08/2009 11:09

Oh yes, I forgot the name change Is in light of DS2's current obsession with Cars, we always have the telly on just in the background usually, this film has been on 5/6/7 times a day for the last 4 weeks, no one watching it, except for the odd five minutes here and there, so I thought, time for a name change, (have never changed my name since I started MNing, well except for the addages NJisPregnant etc. etc.) and obviously the first thing that sprung to mind is how much I'd quite enjoy writing him off! So ta-daaaaa

Sorry Star, I've no real advice, my BFC used to say if he was falling asleep before taking enough food, to tickle his feet, then once he's had a good feed, let him sleep. Have to say, I really can't see any point in waking a baby up, just so they can settle themselves to sleep, DS2 was great, if he was tired and hungry he'd eat till he'd had enough and then go to sleep, or if he was just tired, he'd just go to sleep, so it didn't make any difference in that respect to us.

Kayz sound's like the driving is coming along nicely

Sorky, was he terrible? And was he actually terrible? Am imagining man 'flu x 1000000000000.

sorky · 04/08/2009 11:46

Dd2 fed to sleep and a friend recommended a book called "no cry sleep solution" it's brilliant and worked a treat for us, but it is not a quick fix, took about 2 weeks to see real improvement for night sleeps.
I guess the quick fix is to let her cry but that wasn't an option for us.

Yes NJ man-flu x100000000 is about right, though he put on a brave face , the bruising came out yesterday so it doesn't look pretty tbh, but hey-ho

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 04/08/2009 12:04

Is it supposed to look pretty, ever?

Am thinking when I get very desparate with him I can roll out the "I've given birth with no drugs to three of your children.... blah blah blah" Think if I hit him with it too soon, it'll wear off before the bruising does.

Annnnd, they've told him to have sex many times to clear the tubes etc. so if it is that painful that he couldn't possibly get off his own arse to make a brew, then it would be far too painful for any 'ow's ya farver' business

And of course there is the old "stop whinging and feeling sorry for yerself man, else I'll give you more than a tiny operation"

Will that cover me? I've no sympathy. At all.

Erm.... where's Diege? Not sure why talking about men being chopped up is making me think of her!

GYo · 04/08/2009 12:13

Hello all and welcome back lightening.

Quick question- DD has a slight temp since her jabs yesterday. its showing around 38. Should I give her calpol or see how she goes? She is more sleepy than usual.

sorky · 04/08/2009 12:15

Well if I'm honest I'm not miss sympathetic to any medical problems really because it's my job and all sympathy runs out when I get home. Add to that the fact that he makes a dreadful patient and it wasn't going to be long before I snapped

I have so far used the following phrases in frustration-

I have birthed 4 children ffs, you've had surgery akin to root canal, whIch incidentally I had last week.

Quit the poorlie-sick-voice it's your nuts, not your throat.

My god your 92yo granny gets out of a chair with less fuss!

and finally,

If you continue to hobble like Steptoe, after walking normally yesterday, I cannot be held responsible for where my foot may land

that should see you okay I reckon Nat

oh and he has to clear the tubes with more than 36 sessions in 3 months hehehe

GYo · 04/08/2009 12:19

Star- sorry for bad night and annoying DH. Hope he is taking a share today.

Not really got any advice for the waking thing. I've heard good things about the No cry sleep book too.

Sorky- ouch for the bruising

Diege is on hols!

Hi everyone else

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 04/08/2009 12:25

GYo, yes I'd give a little calpol at 38, but then I am a bit overcautious with high temps because of DS2. Poor little things, at least she is happy to sleep through it, she'll not even know what's going on.

LMAO Sorky. Can't believe he did the poorly voice, think there will be some choice words flying around here if he tries that on me!When DH got home from the appointment to set it all up and everything, the first thing he said was they use the same thing to numb it as what they do at the dentist, I said "what did you expect? An epidural? Spinal block? GA?" Bless him, he looked quite worried

Love him to bits but refuse to fanny arse around him. The more I give, the more he'll take, and I've enough with the kids, let alone him and his hurty member

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 04/08/2009 12:26

Aha thanks GYo

sorky · 04/08/2009 12:32

If you are worried then give her some calpol and let her sleep GYo, her little body will do the rest

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 04/08/2009 12:36

Just so you know GYo, our GP told us temp over 38 give calpol, liquids, undress and if needs be use cool flannel, if it doesn't come under control then see GP. If it keeps rising and goes over 39 at any point see GP. Over 40 emergency appt. (as in there and then) or A&E. BUT, and it's a big but, I'm not too sure if that was because of DS2's fitting or if that's the normal rule of thumb? I stick to it like glue for all of them now though.

Kayzr · 04/08/2009 12:36

A few of the DH's of the dec girls are having their ops soon. They are all moaning already about having to go through it.

Diege is in Whitby. I am going to see her next Monday. Can't wait to meet her dcs!

tinkisback · 04/08/2009 12:37

hi nat - was getting worried - sorry to hear that you were all ill we have been ill here 2

any thoughts ladies :-

when child is @ school how many clothes do they need?!

dd1 starts school in sept!

looking @ getting her winter clothes next month from boden :-

2 pairs of heart trousers
2 big button dresses
2 tops to go under dresses
pack of 2 tites
4 logo tops
1 jumper
2 pack of long johns

does this sound like enough clothes as she will only be wearing @ the wknd

sorky · 04/08/2009 12:38

Just do make sure he has bedrest for 2 days tho NJ, quite important, in the first 24 hours Dh had 2 dizzy episodes when he stood up, one a couple of hours after coming home and he passed out, eek.

No exercise or heavy lifting for a week, including sex, the tube clearing averages every other day I think.
I asked Dh last night if he fancied sex (partly a joke) and the colour drained from him, he said at that moment he couldn't imagine ever having sex again...ever
he's so melodramatic it's untrue

sorky · 04/08/2009 12:40

Can't help there Tink I'm afraid as mine don't do school
