Josie Definately with you on the mucus - totally normal. If it is really itchy though, get some canestan as thrush is also very common due to hormonal changes.

Meita love the picture thing! How sweet.

My sense of smell is sooooo strong, it is ridiculous. And feeling really emotional - I watched the Michael Jackson memorial and was blubbing most of the way through.

On a positive note, I have discovered that a hot ham sandwich made with nice hot toast with butter (not marg - yuk!) is my 'thing'. And that drinking LOADS helps the morning sickness. Although getting it down and staying means loads of small drinks all day long. When pregnant before I always had to drink 4 litres a day or would get headaches. Can't believe I forgot that - call it baby brain. Glad I have remembered now though.

RetroMum1 · 08/07/2009 12:48

Afternoon All

Well I needn't have done a test yesterday as today in the middle of Sainsubrys with DD in a trolley the morning sickness hit me!.

DD was shouting eat, eat, eat at me while I was trying to through the bananas out of the bag to throw up in it!.

I am still having some dark brown blood on wiping but I'm trying to be hopeful and reassured by the sickness. I did have this with both previous pregnancies, one turned out to be a MC and the other was DD.

Meita sorry to hear about the awful flight. I'm with you on being really hot all the time and the thought of being trapped on a grounded plane! Poor you.

Has anyone else become an insomniac? I think I had a couple of days of this with DD but not this long.

Also is everybody else already having to get up to go to the loo in the middle of the night? I did with both previous pregnancies but not this one so I'm slightly concerend that this could be a sign of a weak pregnancy?

Hope your all managing to get some rest

369thegoosedrankwine · 08/07/2009 19:32

chubbymummy thanks for the kind words.

I still have MS and all symptoms so fingers crossed but I am aware that my body could be kidding me....we'll see. I also had bleeding with DS1 but that was at 11 weeks and I had already had a scan.

Anyway....on a positive note on the MS I have bought those travel bands that go on my wrists. I have worn them since lunchtime and I swear my MS has eased. I still feel sick ALL DAY but not the put my head in my hands and want to weep kind of nausea that I've had up to now. They are advertised as for travel / morning sickness so I have assumed that they're safe.

Potporri I am your opposite. Hot buttered toast makes me boak. I am eating ice soothe my MS.

369thegoosedrankwine · 08/07/2009 19:40

Retro I think we have both got similar concerns at the moment. Fingers crossed for you too.

Tigresswoods · 08/07/2009 20:33

Does anyone else feel a bit horny? MS has not hit me yet and feeling a bit horny. Normal or just me?

Hi all- had my dating scan today so can finally come out of the lurking closet (plus havew told last AN thread...) One of the lucky ones who doesn't get sickness, but did get chronic SPD last time round so don't hate me just yet....but do feel horny Tigress, so it's not just you. (Felt horny for the entire pregnancy last time too FWIW, even when I couldn't do anything about it because of the SPD.

Doctorskidaddle · 08/07/2009 21:14

tigress - I was horny until the MS kicked in - and I remember I was when pg with DD as well (not DS though - could it be a girl thing??). Now sex is the absolute last thing I could stomach.

Retromum - funny you should mention about going to the loo in the middle of the night - I was just thinking about that - I also had to when pg with DD and DS but not this time - I imagine it's got something to do with being stretched and so bladder has more room to move aside and not be so squashed by the womb (can you tell I'm not a medical doctor?!)

369 - I am going to buy one of those wristbands tomorrow on your recommendation! I have to do something - the MS is becoming unbearable

Meita - poor you, sounds horrid

fingers crossed for 369 and retromum

Doctorskidaddle · 08/07/2009 21:18

Hi P&P and congrats - do you have a DD or a DS? Just thinking about my horny when pg with a girl theory...

childofthe80s · 08/07/2009 21:21

Hi,

Fingers crossed for everyone with worries. Am sending positive pregnany vibes to you all!

Things are ok here. Very tired and think I may have gone up a bra size over night(hoping that I am just being overtly self-conscious and no-one else has noticed!) I am also waking up very early. How strange that seems to be a common symptom on the thread! I think in my case, my brain probably just feels like it has a lot to process.

Not sure I'm with you on the symptoms there Tigresswoods but that sounds like quite a positive one?!

Good luck all.

Dalrymps · 08/07/2009 21:56

Hi all, just popping in, I feel absolutely exhausted tonight. Also had my first wave of nausea this morning breifly, actually was happy cause have been worried about lack of symptoms!

I have had a little hornyness now and again, even had a raunchy dream about dh the other night

Sorry haven;t replied to you individually, am too tired but will do soon, honest zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Meita · 09/07/2009 08:10

Good morning!

telling loo-at-night Not yet... I'm hoping it will stay this way!

retroMum I don't know about "weak" and "strong" pregnancies... I think pregnant is pregnant is pregnant... of course it might not work out, resulting in "pregnant" going back to "not pregnant" but a weak pregnancy, that would be a bit like saying "I'm a little pregnant"... no?
I hope you are doing alright! Don't worry too much - probably it's just a case of every pregnany being different.

369 fingers crossed for you!

pureandpearls welcome!

childofthe80s brain processing stuff... indeed! :-)

hornyness Well the good thing is that lots of sex during pregnancy is excellent for avoiding pre-eclampsia. So don't hold yourselves back!

telling Telling people has its advantages... Others help you look out for stuff like what you should and shouldn't eat etc. and share their experiences!

I had a lovely talk with my mum yesterday. She's thrilled by the news and has immediately told everyone. Hmpf - I don't know what I should think about that. But the good side is, she told me all about how pg was for her - e.g. she only had MS for about three days each time round (she had three DC) - I hope that is heritable! Also how she did lots of stuff "wrong" as she was a careless teenage mum - probably even had pg-diabetes that wasn't diagnosed because she didn't go to check-ups... but everything turned out fine in the end anyway. Over all, I feel much less worried now and finally feel that I, too, will survive this experience.

all those who have been silent I hope you are doing well!!!

Take care and have a nice day,
Meita

becky7000 · 09/07/2009 08:25

Had a bit of a wobble last night. Just so worried about coping with everything. I feel like I don't have the energy to do a lot but the basics at home (and I really mean basics, like dirty nappies and wipe mess up). The house is starting to look a state and I hate doing the meals as I feel so sick. I know it will get easier soon in 2nd trimester so should just get on with it but that seems like a long time away.

Sorry, moan over! Just had to get it off my chest and nobody knows I am pg here yet. I don't have family near by so don't want to tell them and worry them as they can't do anything to help.I do know how lucky I am so feel bad for moaning.

I hope you are all feeling a lot better than me and have a good day.

RetroMum1 · 09/07/2009 08:45

Morning girls.

How are we all this morning?

Becky7000 don't worry about lack of energy to do anything yesterday DD was put in front of the TV so I could have a sleep as I was so tired

When I was pregnant with DD1 I said she wouldn't even watch tv until she was 3 now look at me!.

I am going to ring my health visitor this AM and see if it is too early to take myself to Kings for a scan as I am sure that once I have seen a heartbeat I was relax and not worry about the bleeding. However I think it is too early.

Mother in-law is coming today and DH will be at work for the next 2 days. Not looking forward to this as she doesn't come to help and thinks this is her hotel with asking me to make her cups of tea, dinner, breakfast!. So no chance of a sleep for me today.

On a good note have booking in appointment at the doctors tomorrow.

Hope your all feeling refreshed from the sleep.

xxx

Dophus · 09/07/2009 08:49

I was horny throughout both of my previous pgs - both boys. horny again.

Other thatn that this pg is differnt - ms hitting at differnt times of the day (mid morning and mid afternoon rather than early morning).

I guess it's early days.

EmLouT · 09/07/2009 09:28

Hello everyone,

you are very organised starting a March thread already - I'm really glad someone started one.
Found out last week that I am pregnant - this will be my second (my DS is 20 months). Baby due on March 5th - going for an early scan next week - don't think it will sink in until I see that little heart beating.

Morning ladies

Just a quick message to say to bon voyage to TLC - hope you have a good trip (and glad the suitcase has wheels!).

And to hear of everyone suffering from MS - still only feeling waves of nausea in the early morning and late evening so feeling quite lucky [fingers crossed emoticon] - though starting to get very nervous about the scan on Tuesday (keep having horrible dreams about nothing being there ). So am trying to stay away from MN so I can't freak myself out too much about miscarriages...

Hope everyone's doing well.

scooby26 · 09/07/2009 10:39

Hi all,woz v v tired at teatime yesterday but nothing else.not wishin 2 b ill but a litle bit of ms wud make it seem real at mo! Wish i cud get an early scan-cant wait 7 wks! Glad ur all coping x

becky7000 · 09/07/2009 11:14

Thanks retromum. You have made me feel better about the number of hours of CBeebies that DS1 and DD have been watching. I even put DS2 in bouncer in front of TV but he didn't seem too impressed!

JeMeSouviens · 09/07/2009 13:52

Well, only 1 of my boobs is looking big so far, is that normal?!

I got a BFP yesterday and EDD is about 10 March. I have one DS who has just turned 2. Only DH and I know in RL.

I'm a little bit nervous this time as we may be moving to a very dodgy, very small town in the middle of nowhere with "limited equipment" at the hospital (17hr drive to the nearest city!), complete with bears and moose (we live in Canada at the moment).

Well, I hope you are all doing well, and look forward to your updates.

LEMONADEGIRL · 09/07/2009 14:46

Hi Ladies, can I join to. Got a BFP on Monday with an EDD 11th March.

This will be my second and definatley more scared this time and worried about coping and lack of sleep again. DS was a terrible sleeper and only started going through the night just after 2years. Am moving house in the next two weeks as well.

Symptom wise lots of cramps and my boobs seem huge mixed in with a bit of nausea. Eating a lot of mints which seem to help.
Have added my name to the list too.
