Welcome Emlout and jemesouviens and Congratulations on your BFP!!

Jemesoviens - am picturing you out in some Northen Exposure like setting (am I showing my age ).

Scooby26 - sorry to hear you are tired but its a good sign as it means your body is busy doing important things.

Caitni - good luck with your scan. And remember that dreams don't mean anything (last night I dreamt I played pool on a very tall table against the baby from Family Guy! What the hell!!!)

Retromum - hope you are well and the HV was helpful. Good luck with your MIL.

Becky7000 - don't be too hard on yourself. Your body (and your hormones) are changing so you are going to feel a bit tired etc.
The housework is not priority at the moment (well not with me anyway!) - its more imporatant that you stay well and rested.

Meita - it sounds like you had a lovely chat with your mother. Am telling my family tomorrow and hoping that will make it feel more real.

Hello to all others that I haven't mentioned

Had a weird lot of sharp cramps yesterday afternoon but they seemed to have stopped now so am hoping was nothing (googled it and came up with round ligament something or other?). General cramping seems to be easing - now just feel a wee bit sore down there like its been knocked around a bit - nothing too painful though. Took another hpt test this am and another strong positive. Still have very sore boobs (though they haven't grown yet - DH keeps checking!) which keep waking me up in the night as can't roll over on to my sides but other than that - no symptoms. (oh does unnecessary crying count?). I kind of want the symptoms so I know that somethings happening though (I know, I know, be careful what you wish for). Anyway, enough waffle from me...hope you are all well.

Thanks Josie! Actually if we end up where they've told us to go, in the northern reaches of BC, it will be something like Northern Exposure I'd imagine.

Evening ladies, joining in the symptom spotting! Boobs got sore yesterday - very sudden - fine one second, oooowwww the next, v weird! Also had forgotten weird cramping/ stretching sensation in the, ahem, groinal area if I get up too quickly! Had it last time too - just me??? Nauseous but not sick yet - and looking forward to the weekend when I'm telling my parents - at least they'll know why I've been yawning so much - think they just think I'm a lazy cow!

Lemonade - I'm with you on feeling more scared this time round - dd was sleeper from hell - surely can't have another one the same?! Is life that cruel?!

ilovegreenbeans · 09/07/2009 20:33

I'm Canadian too- but I'm from Ontario, and now I live in London!

JeMeSouviens · 09/07/2009 20:56

Hi ilovegreenbeans,

Just to confuse everyone, I'm a kiwi living in Canada, previously lived in the grim north of England where DS was born.

We took a day trip to Ottawa recently, what a lovely little city.

becky7000 · 09/07/2009 21:15

Lemonade and Minicooper don't worry, my DS1 was poor sleeper and eater but other DCs have been a lot better. Maybe just luck of the draw. Keep your fingers crossed!

Poppyjen · 09/07/2009 21:47

Hi Ladies,

may I join you? 3 positive HPTs (7th, 8th and 9th July..) have finally convinced me this is actually happening

EDD is 20th March, so I'll add myself to the bottom of the list...

Thanks!

Dalrymps · 09/07/2009 22:49

Evening ladies

Wow so many posts, I can't keep up!

meita - nice to chat with your mum about her experience of pg

Becky - Don't worry, I only have one ds and can't find the energy to do the housework most days! You're doing fantastically well, you're bound to be more tired than usual at the moment what with being pg. We're all here whenever you need a moan

Retro - Hope you get your scan and see all is ok. Hope your MIL isn't too demanding, last thing you need! Maybe you could fake a migrane and get her to bring you cups of tea?

Dophus - I seem to be getting my ms mid morning and mid afternoon too. Think it's linked to when I start to get a little hungry again after breakfast/lunch.

EmLouT - Welcome and congratulations! Weird coincidence but I also have a ds who is 20 months and my due date is also 5th March, spooky!

Caitni - Fingers crossed for the scan, i'm sure everything will be fine. Try not to worry about the dreams, I dream some really crazy things and none of them are ever true.

scooby - Try not to worry about lack of symptoms. I've hardly had any symptoms but know of quite a few people who have been the same and had perfectly healthy pregnancies.

JeMeSouviens - Wow at your northern exposure life! Eek at 'limited equipment'! Which part of the grim north did you live in? I'm in Bwerwick upon Tweed, not quite so grim

Lemonadegirl - Welcome and congratulations! I'm also worried about how i'll cope with a bad sleeper, ds is a prefect sleeper, i've been very lucky and don't cope well with lack of sleep. I'm more worried about a bad eater actually, ds is a pretty bad eater and has weight gain issues, a constant worry!

Josie22 - I had some sharp pains last pg, was just stretching type pains I think, quite common.

minicooper - Ooh exciting that you're going to tell your parents soon, bet you can't wait for their reaction!

poppyjen - Welcome and congratulations! . I know what you mean about it not feeling real, I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and still hardly believe it!

Well, i've told some people, could help it! Told my sil as we've both been ttc for the same amount of time and have been suppoting each other so she was bound to ask sooner or later. She was very excited for me and hopes to be pg soon herself . Also told one of my bros and his wife tonight , they'd had a bad day and we wanted to cheer them up , it worked, they were over the moon!

I've sworn both of them to secrecy though, don't want loads of people knowing incase anything goes wrong, don't want to have to go round everyone and 'untell' them.

Had nausea for most of today which I was actually happy about as I actually felt pg for once! Also have been really tired, slept from 10.30pm to 7am last night, had a nap form 9.20 till 11 this morning (when ds had his) and am now really tired again YAWN!

369thegoosedrankwine · 10/07/2009 08:02

Morning ladies,

Just to update you re; scan, they won't scan me now until a week on Monday when I will be 8 weeks and they will know definitely what is happening. I just have to wait and see, but I understand why the doctor wants to wait. I still lots of symptoms though, so I am taking this as a good thing.

The good / bad thing is that I travel to Canada on the Wednesday and then onto my brother's wedding in America the week after, so I should know what is happening before I go. I'm away for 3 weeks in all. (Interesting to see a few Canadians on this thread ).

DrS have the travel bands worked for you at all?

Dalrymps I have also turned into the amazing sleeping woman.

Dalrymps · 10/07/2009 09:06

Morning 369, Sorry you have to wait even longer to your scan but as you say at least they'll be able to tell exactly whats happening when you do have it.

Along with my amazing sleeping I have woken at 3.45 the past two nights for a wee, annoyingly last night I couldn't get back to sleep for what seemed like ages!

chubbymummy · 10/07/2009 12:33

Hi Ladies.
Well it looks like I was right to be worried! Had a very slight bleed yesterday so went for an early scan this morning and the baby is only measuring at 4weeks 3days instead of 6weeks 4days. I have to go back for another scan next Friday to see if there is any progress but since I know I haven't got my dates wrong I fully expect to be told that the pregnancy ended at 4weeks 3days. I've been signed off work for 2 weeks(need to ring my boss this afternoon to let her know) which means with the summer holidays coming up I won't be returning until September. Once the midwife confirms I've miscarried I'll have to decide what to do next, medical management or operation (not exactly how I'd planned to spend my first week of the holidays!). After miscarrying last year I half expected it again this time but I'm still absoloutly gutted, can't believe I'm going through this again. This next week of waiting is going to be awful, I'd rather just know one way or another instead of being stuck in limbo.

Dalrymps · 10/07/2009 12:40

Oh chubbymummy i'm so so sorry to hear that . I hope the next week goes quickly and you get some clarification at the next scan. I really don't know what to say, I'm not surprised you're gutted, noone wants this to happen... I supposed there's a little hope and the next scan will confirm which way things will go. We're all here whenever you want to talk about it ((hugs))

scooby26 · 10/07/2009 12:41

Sorry 2 hear that chubbymummy. All is not lost yet.put ur feet up and rest.my sis has had 3 boys and with each woz put back with edd despite knowin her dates. Cross us legs, fingers n toes. Thinkin of u x

Doctorskidaddle · 10/07/2009 13:24

chubbymummy - so sorry. I really hope that it is not what you think - no-one can know when the egg was fertilised as it may well not happen the day you have sex but I understand why you are not hopeful . Be kind to yourself and I really really hope it turns out to be OK after all

369 - thanks for asking! I never got the wristbands in the end but my MS does seem to be a little less bad than it was (perhaps helped by the cream bun I have just devoured - I NEVER eat things like that!). Fingers crossed for your scan - horrible to have to wait longer but at least you will know for sure

dalrymps - how lovely that everyone was so excited by your news. The reaction was definitely much more muted for my no.2 compared to no.1 (am expecting little more than a grunt when we tell the about no.3!)

Hello and congrats to poppyjen and other newbies

Meita · 10/07/2009 13:31

oh chubbymummy, ((((hug)))) I am so sorry to hear that!

Please do exactly what the doctors told you - nothing at all! Lie flat and be nursed. Maybe the next scan will be more positive. You never know. I wish you all the luck in the world!

369thegoosedrankwine · 10/07/2009 14:02

chubbymummy - really sorry to hear your news. Take care and rest lots.

PotPourri · 10/07/2009 15:04

Oh chubby mmmy. soooo sorry for you. Big hugs

Horsiemummy · 10/07/2009 16:29

try to stay positive like the girls say, all is not lost yet. i really feel for you in this horrid situation.

keep your chin up. thinking of you.

XXX

Josie22 · 10/07/2009 16:55

Chubbymummy I really am so sorry to hear your news. Try and take it easy over the next week. Will be thinking of you.

Minicooper · 10/07/2009 19:28

Oh, Chubbymummy, so sorry to hear your news. I agree, the waiting is almost worse than the actuality. Do rest as much as you can and look after yourself.

LEMONADEGIRL · 10/07/2009 19:50

Evening ladies, thank you for the welcome

Becky2000 - thanks, it is something I dread going another 2 years with broken sleep - your comment has made me feel hopeful

Chubbymummy - sorry for your news, will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Had episodes of nausea, which have eaten my way through with carbs. Had to go food shopping this morning and the smell of the bakery and cakes made feel quite ill. It was really busy and felt like yelling at everyone to get out of my way so I could get in and out into fresh air. Another symptom this time is bit of a bad temper.

I still want a glass of wine in the evening though, I really miss it but just don't want to risk it until have got first scan out of way. DH was sipping wine at tea whilst I was on water - so unfair

Hope everyone has a good weekend

childofthe80s · 10/07/2009 21:21

Chubbymummy: So sorry to hear that. Try to take care of yourself and to get some rest over the next week. Fingers very firmly crossed for you here.

Sariska · 10/07/2009 21:34

Hello all. Can I join? Think I'm expecting my second on 9th March so have added myself towards the middle of the list. First is only 15 months and is not yet a reliable through-the-night sleeper so am a bit daunted by what lies ahead if #2 sticks. Found out I was pg whilst on holiday with extended family and am sure they all guessed once they saw me merely toying with a wine glass....

Can't believe how big the thread is already. Will read it and try to gen up but, until then, just want to say to Chubbymummy that I hope you are OK.

Evening all

Chubbymummy I'm sorry to hear your news but make sure you rest and keep some hope you don't know for certain yet.

Hi to all the newbies and welcome.

Well I had my booking in appointment this AM with the doctor who was terrible. She told me I was only a little bit pregnant!!! And that most people wouldn't even realise they were pregnant yet even though my period would now be 6 days late!. To which I replied that any woman desperately trying for a baby would know they were pregnant if the were 6 days late and had symptoms.

Anyway they said no scan until 5 weeks which I was glad to hear but politely informed her that that was tomorrow so she should book it in. Long and short of it is she has let the hospital know who will apparently contact me with a date and I think I am going to self refer myself to Kings. Very cross at horrible spinster doctor

Anyway mother-in-law here so I best go and we aren't telling her yet.

Hope you all have a good weekend and get plenty of rest.
