Sorry also to hear your news chubbymummy

Shyla I am also pregnant after having 3 MC's so I know exactly how you feel I am shitting myself as well! I have got a follow up scan week on Tuesday as I had one Tuesday just gone because I was having some pain in my left side so I was worrying in case it was ectopic (as I had one before my last MC) but everything was in the right place but baby was too tiny to see so hopefully there will be a little HB when I go again.

Can I ask have you been told to take baby aspirin with this one?

shyla01 · 24/07/2009 22:06

hi welshlovely

how many weeks are you? i was very tempted to go to a&e yest as i had quite a bad pain in my right side for about an hour. had a bath and it completely disappeared! very glad i didnt go.

sure it wont be the last time i over-react!

have you had any tests into why you mc'd?
i have been on the waiting list since march but havent had any of the tests yet.

have discussed the aspirin with a consultant when i was going through the last mc and she thought it would probably be worth a try. have been taking it since getting bfp last week. are you on it too?

good luck with your nxt scan hope all is well.

Finally got round to adding myself to the list. For anyone who hasn't read previous posts, despite having 4th DC got my EDD wrong as was on the pill before got pg and no AF between DC3 and pg ( that's my excuses anyway)! Had scan yesterday and got EDD, which is Feb but by permission of everyone here I am sticking around because I know you guys now and don't want to start again in new thread!

scooby26 · 24/07/2009 22:21

Best wishes to you for next week Chubby. Really sorry to hear your news xx

designerbaby · 24/07/2009 22:47

Oh Chubby. So very sorry. That's really sad, and really crap. Had really hoped it would all turn out ok. Thinking of you - hope next week isn't too painful.

designerbaby · 24/07/2009 22:55

BTW, have found a way to ease tummy pain - thought I'd post it for those also similarly afflicted. It's not very ladylike, but it is effective:

Bend over and touch floor so you are in upside down v shape with arse in the air. Release will follow, although you might want to make sure you're alone when it does.

There's a due April 2010 thread! We're getting there girlies!

Cheepz · 25/07/2009 06:58

wish my ds would grasp the concept of lie ins and weekends. another 545am start to the day means he and i are now couch potatos in front of cbeebies, me with coffee and laptop, him with milk and monkey...

i think they make cbeebies from 6 -8 am as annoying as possible just for people like me!

have had sore throat and headachy symptoms all week, nasty sore throat but nothing else - think its a cold bug going round but its keeps seeming to go away then coming back a day later, wish i could just shake it

no grim side effects yet, although can feel the hormones

Scootergrrrl · 25/07/2009 07:56

Morning everyone - can I join in? Positive test last week and this will be my third DC. Already have a girl, five, and a boy, three, both of whom like to get up at 6am at weekends too. I feel your pain Cheepz .
I think I fit in somewhere around the middle of March but didn't write down when my last AF was so am waiting for the first scan to confirm.

I've been up since about 5.30 too and CBeebies has been on! In fact CBeebies has been a feature of the house recently! I know it's been on too long when the programmes start repeating themselves!

Cheepz · 25/07/2009 08:39

my dh not a big fan of tv, so objects to my depositing ds in front of tv and dozing on couch - have pointed out if he wants to get up at 6am 6 days a week and do puzzles and playdoh and blocks he is more than welcome, its easy to do it once a week - he does sundays, but walk a week in my shoes! - we both work, but somehow I get to get up and get ds dressed and out along with myself every day!

don't really begrudge it though, knew what i was getting into when i married him and never expected he would change

Scootergrrrl · 25/07/2009 08:43

Two children playing Hungry Hippos at 6.30am - now there's a treat I hope I don't have every day. CBeebies is Brahm's Lullaby compared to that!

Arcadie · 25/07/2009 08:58

We've had the entirety of Finding Nemo here while I read my novel on the couch lovingly prepare a nutritious breakfast.

Scootergrrrl · 25/07/2009 09:50

I thought I was being super-mummy by making them American pancakes and giving them a little pot of maple syrup to dip them in. I went into the kitchen to make a cup of tea and came back to find them both drinking the syrup out of the little pots.... pancakes remaining untouched.

Our DVD player will also be getting some serious use today, especially if the rain - and my extreme tiredness! - continues.

welshlovely · 25/07/2009 09:59

Hi Shyla I am 6+3 luckily I only had to wait a couple of weeks to be referred to see a specialist after my last MC I had blood tests done but nothing showed up apartt from a question mark over my thyroid which I am due to go for a follow up blood test soon.

The consultant told me to give baby aspirin a try with my next pregnancy - she told me to start taking it as soon as we were TTC but I read a lot on the internet that it can cause implantation problems so I decided to start taking it when I got a + test.

I hope that we will both be on here for the longhaul anyway take care

Doctorskidaddle · 25/07/2009 11:17

chubby - so so sorry such awful news after having to wait all this time and keep hoping. Please do stick around and we will look forward to hearing good news from you soon x

shyla - hi and welcome - I remember you (briefly) from the ttc threads (I was only there for a couple of weeks luckily for me so I'm sure you don't remember me!).

hi scootergrrrrl and congrats LOL at the pancakes and maple syrup. I have learned never to leave the DC alone with anything dippable after a few unfortunate incidents with hummous...

caitni - re hypobirthing my friend said you have to practice all the breathing exercises a lot for it to work so I think that is what takes the time rather than the actual course/reading. I read a book by Sheila Kitzinger called the Experience of Birth or something like that last time - very hippy dippy 70's earthmother kind of thing but it had a few simple breathing exercises which DH and I practised for the last few weeks of my pg and i have to say it was amazingly effective - I had as good a birth as I think you can with DS (no pain relief, no tearing, short 2nd stage, feeling calm throughout)and that was following a pretty harrowing birth with DD (ventouse, 3 hours pushing, post-partum haemorrage, blood transfusion) so I would really really reccommend that book if you don't want to go the whole hod with hypnobirthing.

Well I don't want to jinx it but I THINK my MS has begun to subside - my God what a relief! I am 9.5 weeks now (I think) so for all those suffering it may not be too long now. Still want to vomit at the thought of coffee and meat though (just as well really as I am veggie!)

arcadie - have been thinking of you - must be awful waiting but hope your brother's wedding and stuff manages to distract you a little. How are you feeling today?

Arcadie · 25/07/2009 12:46

Hey Skid Just checked out your FB photos DD looks AMAZING in your profile pic!

Thank you for thinking of me. I have pretty much convinced myself that it's over and am just waiting for scan or obvious symptoms either way to convince me. Feeling pretty Can't Be Arsed about almost everything at the moment. (Not like me) But MN keeps me going ... and of course my beautiful children too!

Glad your MS is on the wane.

Doctorskidaddle · 25/07/2009 12:55

thanks arcadie - my dad brought her a sari, bindi and bangles back from India and she can't get enough of them!

Sorry you're feeling so negative about it - do remember retromum's experience though. I suppose thinking it's over at least means you can try not to let it haunt you so much. I'm sure it doesn't mean very much, but I feel very hopeful for you - I don't know I just feel like it's going to be OK. Hope you manage to enjoy your weekend x

Arcadie · 25/07/2009 13:10

Cheers Skid Feeling better already. I love you guys.... [in manner of drunken end of party]

Dalrymps · 25/07/2009 21:50

Hey all,

DB - Loving the 'wind release' trick. I have to say I can't do it at the mo though as my ms has been joined/slightly replaced by acid indigestion so bending over is not good!

I am just fed up today, although my ms has calmed a bit I get it when hungry so then I eat and feel great for 10 mins and then we're in to the indigestion! FGS!

Have had it good as dh has been off work this week and has been really looking after me. Looks like from monday I will be handing the care of ds over to cbeebies if I still feel like this!

Cheepz · 26/07/2009 11:01

sunday lie in - bliss

now big pile of laundry, dishes, bed changing chores ... boo hiss

at least ds and dh can play in the garden!!

Dalrymps · 26/07/2009 12:02

Ah nice, no lie in for me for once, felt well enough to get up with ds so let dh have a rest. I tried to have a nap when I put ds down for his morning nap but couldn't sleep .

Just had some crumpets and managed to eat them without feeling too sick

Pingpong · 26/07/2009 13:42

Sorry to hear your news chubby GL for next time.

I've had a rough week. DD started vomiting on Monday, was brighter on Tuesday but sick again all day Wednesday. By evening she couldn't even keep water down so phoned NHS direct who advised me to take her to A&E - no wet nappies for hours either. Anyway they kept us in overnight as a precaution and started her on dioralyte to get her rehydrated. At 3am I started with D&V as well. They soon wanted shot of us from the hospital after that!
I just feel so weak, started feeling a bit better yesterday but more D today but my headache has finally lifted. DD is being really clingy as well, she is napping now but there's not much peace chez Smac.

Hope those having scans this week see happy little growing beans and congrats to the newbies on the list.

PS - I could never even contemplate a HomeBirth I'm too much of a chicken! My SIL has had 2 good homebirths but there is just no way I could do it.
After emcs I was kept in for 3 days and was given quite a lot of help - shown how to bathe the baby, BF support etc. I think every hospital is different and even every shift is different. My friend in the same hospital 3 days later felt she didn't get much support.

Cheepz · 26/07/2009 17:53

Yikes

Just found have some brown spotting ... only at 5+2 so will have to wait and see, last pregnancy didn't have any early spotting or bleeding at all in pregnancy, no cramps or other symptoms but is a little disconcerting

Will call dr tomorrow to see whether they can give me a check up and give me an early scan.
