I can't find a March 2010 thread so thought I'd start with.

This is my first and i think my EDD is 2 March 2010.

Come and join me!

Scooby I can understand why you're freaked out about nightshifts, but I think the stressing you're doing is not good for you or little bean either!

You said in your last post that if a good heartbeat is seen at 8-9 weeks the risk drops to 2%... where did you get that info from? I'd really like to see it to calm my nerves! I am 8+2 and saw a heartbeat on a scan at 7+6. We're thinking about telling people soon, and if I knew the risk was as low as 2% I'd be much happier about telling people

By the way ladies, I am SOOOOO SLLEEPPYY all the time, I can hardly stay awake, and when I do nap for a while I wake up and don't feel refreshed Is that normal for 8 weeks pg? I feel like crap! Don't want to do anything socially, and work is just such an inconvenience from sleeping! Please tell me I'm not the only one!

TLC- I'm not sure how to do links but if you go to The Miscarriage Association website and go to ultrasound scans it says that if you see a heartbeat at 6 weeks you have 78% chance of healthy pregnancy, at 8 weeks it is 98% and at 10 weeks it is 99.4%. Hope this helps

scooby26 · 24/07/2009 12:12

TakingLovingChances- same website that Becky quotes

I'm not stressed about it - I just need to do someting cos I can't face another set of nights and this seems the logical option- as you see risks would be down to 2% so wondering of the £90 would be worth it!!!

TakeLovingChances · 24/07/2009 12:41

Thanks Becky and Scooby - I think I looked at that website weeks ago when I was first pregnant, but at that stage my mind was racing, so I didn't notice those good stats. Thanks, I will go now to look them up.

Tigresswoods · 24/07/2009 12:51

Hi takinglovingchances me too! I just want to sleeeeeep.

DH says shall we go for one drink with friends after golf. My response, "Can't I just go home and sleep?"

Very tough. Also 8 weeks and now have twitchy eye which I am sure means I am tired.

sigh

Arcadie · 24/07/2009 13:14

TLC - Sleeeeeeeeep! I'm with you on that . In fact it's how I found I was pg with DD - just dropped off whilst sitting playing with DS!

Scooby Becky7000 - I'm loving those stats. Now I just need to get me a heartbeat at the 8+5 weeks scan and I'm good to go!

DB I had dodgy tummy problems with my previous pgnancies - I think it was something to do with iron levels. Maybe ask mw or HV or GP??

Caitni · 24/07/2009 13:35

God, totally agree about the tiredness (have actually napped in the toilets at work when it's been impossible to keep my eyes open). MS is also getting a bit worse, just when I thought I might sneak through without suffering from it. Roll on 12 weeks

Those miscarriage stats are reassuring though do make me want to have another scan (saw a HB at 7 weeks) though I've vowed to wait for my NHS one at 13 weeks...feels like aaaaaages away.

DB sorry to hear about the tum problems and arcadie's suggestions seem good. With me, my tum pains relate to trapped wind (so glam!) so have been trying to keep the fibre intake up...

designerbaby · 24/07/2009 15:34

Whoo-hoo! Scan date! 14th August. Which by my reckoning is EXACTLY 12 weeks! Remarkable. And booking appointment on the 18th (isn't that the wrong way 'round?).

That's 3 weeks away... which almost seems close, especially as will be on holiday next week so it effectively doesn't count.

Almost allowing myself to be excited - if football tummy will allow.

If it is just wind - which it may well be (urgh) wouldn't a high-fibre diet actually make it worse? ??

I'm also knackered. Don't know how much of it is due to PG and how much due to having a DD who is teething badly and up at all hours and how much due to a sore tummy which is stopping me from sleeping. All in all I need this holiday. Hopefully DH will allow me some naps and take DD to the beach.

Dophus · 24/07/2009 15:44

Somewhat reassuring that it is not only me ridiculousy exhausted. I remember being tired previously but this is ridiculous. I come home from work and DP finds me asleep on the sofa with the boys. He is having to do all the cooking and housework - I can ahrdly make it through my work day. I'm pathetic.

I remember asking my doctor at 5 weeks whether I could continue runnign 9 miles a day! Tee hee I can hardly make it off the bloody sofa.

I gave in today and put on maternity clothes. I'm sure it's mostly wind but my clothese don't fit althoguh I've only put on 2 lbs. I was warned my collegues were sepculating os I came clean yesterday. It is a relief not to be trying to hide my gut and let it all hang out.

shyla01 · 24/07/2009 16:42

hello ladies, can i join you please?

i'm due march 25th so that makes me about 5 weeks.

i already have 2 dc and have had 3 mc in the last year or so, am shitting myself slightly scared this time around!

scooby26 · 24/07/2009 16:51

Is it wrong 2 sleep at 4.45??

BlueyDragon · 24/07/2009 16:57

Afternoon all - goodness me, clearly a swine flu epidemic and advice not to get pregnant isn't putting everyone off as there are loads more on the list.

How does everyone manage to get early scans? I've just been to see the doctor for the first official appointment, mentioned that my symptoms had died down over the past couple of days and got nothing more than a "come back in a week if you don't feel pregnant". Not in an unsympathetic way, perfectly matter of fact, but you know how it goes, you worry anyway. And no scan until 12 weeks - AGES!

And I know that everyone who's feeling terrible would love to be in my position - it's never right, is it?

Nuff whingeing, better do some work and stop worrying. And it's Friday, hurrah!

BlueyDragon · 24/07/2009 16:58

Scooby, it's not wrong to sleep at 4.45. Hopefully you're not having to resort to the sleeping in the toilets at work trick.

Cheepz · 24/07/2009 18:44

have also been feeling the tiredness and had forgotten about the hunger pangs - no ms yet (too early maybe) but still feel starving hungry most of the time

am determined though not to pile on so much baby weight this time as its been a bitch to lose it all and have only just got back in shape after ds (2 yrs)

still managed to snaffle a huge slice of chocolate fudge cake this afternoon - with cream of course (calcium essential as we are growing arm and leg buds this week)

Arcadie · 24/07/2009 18:53

Welcome Shyla Sending lots of positive vibes your way and hoping you have a very sticky bean baby. Keep posting - it's very cathartic and hopefully not at all boring for everyone else to read about your fears. heck they've all heard enough about mine!

Poppyjen · 24/07/2009 19:40

Disaster.....yesterday I discovered I no longer like chocolate, and today its KrispyKreme Donuts

What a crazy and upside down world I am now living in....

And to top this enforced healthy eating (grrr) someone asked me if I was pregnant today based on what I look like, surely it's too early for all that business??

Ok, so I am bloated (soooo pleased not to be the only one ), and I suppose recently I was very very slim (for my wedding 2 months ago) and so is a little prominent but still.

I wonder whether if you are petite things become more obvious sooner, does anyone have any experience of this? (FYI I am 5'1, and just pre-wedding was 50 kilos and size 6....never to be seen again I fear sigh emoticon). Logistically speaking I guess there is nowhere for everything to go other than out front??

Poppyjen · 24/07/2009 19:43

weird accidental insertion of a link, oops.....sorry ladies.

shyla01 · 24/07/2009 20:03

thanks arcadie

really need somewhere to vent. have only told two people in rl so mn is a real lifesaver sometimes.

i love hearing about all the scans that some of you have had. i am hoping to have one around 9 weeks.

desperate to have one now but my local epu will only scan if showing sign of mc

gp has agreed to push for one at 9 wks as 2 previous mmc. both have been around 8 wk mark, so getting to 9 wks will be a big deal for me!

fingers crossed! x

Well ladies, I'm oficially off the list.
The scan today showed no heartbeat and no growth since last week. I'm booked in for an ERPC on Monday. Just wanted to wish everyone good luck and hope you all stay on this thread until the end. I'll probably still lurk a bit for a while, I'd like to know that everyone gets good results at their scans and I'm also not quite ready go back to joining ttc threads to be honest.

I've removed myself from the list but there may be some newcomers who haven't been added yet, I'll leave that for someone else to do if you don't mind.

Dalrymps · 24/07/2009 21:03

Chubbymummy - So sorry to hear that . I really hoped everything would be ok. Please do stick around. Hoping that when you feel ready you get pg quickly and stay pg. Take care x

Poppyjen · 24/07/2009 21:07

Chubbymummy I'm so sorry to hear that - look after yourself.

ilovegreenbeans · 24/07/2009 21:15

sorry to hear your news chubby.

I cannot even think about coffee, tea, chocolate, fruit juice or some vegetables without wanting to hurl. I don't remember it being this early or this horrid with dd, but I suppose at least the first time around if you feel rotten you can just chill a bit.
Not anymore!

shyla01 · 24/07/2009 21:19

chubbymummy i havent spoken to you on before but really wanted to say how sorry i am. look after yourself x
