I had brown spotting with DC1, DC3 and this time round. It is probably all fine, but I know it's hard not to worry.

Cheepz · 26/07/2009 19:46

hmm when does it stop being spotting and start being bleeding, is still brown / pink although getting darker and spots on liner but more when wipe after pee (tmi sorry) and is there consistently now every time i go.... seems like early period bleeding, which doesn't seem like it would be good

no cramps but a bit of back ache - might be from being hunched over laptop googling like mad - attempts

will go to dr tomorrow - do they typically do an exam under these circumstances? or just refer to the early pregnancy people?

Arcadie · 26/07/2009 20:07

Cheepz - so sorry about all the worries. My advice is to go to the docs or at least phone and ask to speak to mw. MY suspicion is that they won't have you in for a scan until you're 6 weeks anyway because they can't really tell very much even on an internal until then.

Cheepz · 26/07/2009 20:11

Thanks Arcadie - I was thinking that it was probably too early for a scan to help ... I bled alot during the last birth because I apparently have a vascular cervix, bleed after every smear and internal exam (now i know thats tmi) so can only hope it might relate to changes in the cervix.

I will go tomorrow anyway, get some advice and see if they can book me for a scan at 6 weeks, assuming its not obvious that have had an mc by that stage - that will be the ned of next week.

Don't dare go to the loo at the moment, don't want to know if it has got worse....

pureeandpearls · 26/07/2009 20:19

Cheepz- stay calm, be positive and sending hugs.

I appear to be buggered as had early onset SPD last time round and have already start feeling pelvic pain. It's going to be a loooooong 7 months.

becky7000 · 26/07/2009 21:10

I got an early scan with DC3 at 6 weeks as I had light bleeding for a week. A friend of mine had heavy bleeding from 10-18 weeks with her DC2 and all was fine. Once you see a heartbeat it can be very reassuring but until then try not to think the worse. I know fron starting with spotting, my bleeding got worse before it got better and then stopped each time and I checked all the time. I don't think you can help it.

Cheepz · 26/07/2009 21:17

Last post of the night but its not looking good, bleeding is now dark red and heavy and there has been substance to it so I am thinking the worst.

Will check in tomorrow once have seen / spoken to doctor

Am thinking its not going to be March for me ...

becky7000 · 26/07/2009 21:25

Thinking of you cheepz. Take care of yourself.

MumofAdela · 26/07/2009 22:22

Hi everyone. May I join you ? Been lurking for a couple of weeks and put off joining incase it's tempting fate. Am due March 11th, but had MC end of Jan this year ( at about 9 weeks ) so feeling very stressed and worried the same will happen again. I'm 45 so this is this pregnancy ( and the last ) seem like a miracle. I have one dd already, who's 9, from a previous relationship. My OH is excited about this pregnancy ( he has teenage children from his previous relationship ) but also is worried incase we have a repeat of wht happened at the start of the year, so I think this will be our last attempt.

So I'm a constant knicker checker and spend most of the day worrying about every little cramp etc. Feeling very very tired this time round and also a bit nauseaous, on and off, and lots of acidy indegestion.

Anyway, hope to get to know you all over the coming weeks and hopefully all the way to March.

DKWIW.... hullo?

Cheepz: Oh man. So so so sorry about what you're going through. Everyone on here will have stories of previous pgs and friends pgs where there's been lots of bleeding and still a healthy happy baby. Really really hope that's the case for you. Keep posting and we'll keep hoping the best for you.

Arcadie · 26/07/2009 23:13

And MumofAdela Hi and welcome! Join the knicker checking brigade. (IS there anyone before 12 weeks who doesn't check their knickers all the time?

Well not all the time.... sometimes I cook dinner and iron.

RetroMum1 · 27/07/2009 07:48

Morning Everyone

Sorry I haven't posted for a while we have been at the in-laws all weekend for a wedding. Tey hjave kindly kept DD and the dog and are bringing them back on Wednesday so I can get a good rest and some quality time eith DH!.

Chubby I am so so sorry to hear your news I was really hoping everything would be ok, good luck for today Im thinking of you. If it's any help I had 2 ERPC's with y MC and they were ok not really painful, I found it was more emotionally painful than anything but it did help me to move on and start again. Please hang around and make sure you let us know when you are next pregnant, I'm lloking forward to hearing that news.

Cheepz don't worry too much I had given up hope as I had so much bleeding and it all seemed to be OK so just stay hopeful and speak to the doctors today, I think the others are right though they wouldn't scan me until 6 weeks and even then my days were out so it put me in a panic. I don't know if this is just a rumour but I read a thread on here once saying that if you are bleeding you should try and drink plenty of water as it seems to stop the bleeding, I did this and I certainly worked for me.

I am also taking baby Aspirin to prevent MC and too help become pregnant, I have also self prescribed it but I told my doctor and the one at Kings and they both told me to carry on taking it until the end of the first trimester. Apparently it is such a small amount it can't do any harm and I fell pregnant the first month of trying after taking it. There is an idea now that the majority of MC with unknown reason is because the woman has slightly sticky blood and during the difficult first days when the beanie isn't that strong, ebough blood can't get through to it so baby aspirin is thought to stop this and help concieve for the same reasons.

Anyway i hope everyone else is alright and MS isn't too bad. I am still loosing brown clots of blood so I am going to call EPDU today to check that as long as the clots are brown they ok.

Cheepz · 27/07/2009 09:01

Arcadie, Retro et al thanks for words of support. Still bleeding this morning dark red and quite heavy - like a period basically.

Have been trying to get a doctors appointment all morning - went to surgey but their systems went down, then did the calling a million times only to get engaged tone before finally getting into a phone queue and then got through and the earliest appointment they have is at 430pm! its shit isn't it, when i was there this morning the 2 women were sat there gassing to each other and one of the people who was being checked in even when the computers were working

do they not know that people are there because they don't feel well and have had to get up extra early because of the crap system and when you are standing there thinking you are having an mc, holding your baby who you need to get to nursery before 830 to get breakfast and then go to work and fake like you are fine and happy and had a great weekend seeing people being inefficient in and already inefficient process is about the icing on your rage cake .... whew rant over

am feeling abit better this morning, still not holding out much hope of this not being a miscarriage, and keep randomly bursting into tears, but shock has worn off and am feeling less dejected

will let you all know what the doctors says and what the outcome is,

hope everyone else is feeling ok alls going well for you all xxx

Dophus · 27/07/2009 09:06

Cheepz - your local hospital will have an early pregnancy unit if it is a reasonable size. You can normally self-refer - why don't you give them a ring?

Good luck.

Cheepz · 27/07/2009 09:10

thanks Dophus - might give that a go as I know they have one

Pingpong · 27/07/2009 09:12

Sorry you're bleeding Cheepz.
Our EPU lets you self refer - worth a quick phone call.
GL

Arcadie · 27/07/2009 09:17

Cheepz - I am at your GP's surgery. ours is the same - you can be standing in front on the dragon receptionist to ask for an emergency appointment as she's answering the phone to someone and giving them the appt. Seems crazy. Your day sounds a bit bleak. I hope you have some lovely colleagues and some good news.

Scootergrrrl · 27/07/2009 09:38

Will be thinking of you today Cheepz.

Cheepz · 27/07/2009 10:24

thanks all - off to epu now - they said since am bleeding heavily and feeling lightheaded i should get myself up there now

Walnut8 · 27/07/2009 10:37

Cheepz I really hope everything is okay for you. Will be thinking of you today. And chubby, I'm so sorry about your news.

I have been getting waves of nausea on and off for the past week and through the night. It doesn't bother me so much but I feel terrible that I keep waking up DH who has to get up really early for work. Think he was shitty with me this morning. Sometimes i think he thinks I'm just putting it on - like I want sympathy/attention! I think stress of trying to find a new apartment to rent before our old lease expires is making it all worse (seems so much harder when you are trying to find a place you can imagine being pregnant/living with a new-born in). Still i feel terrible complaining about anything with others on this thread going through what they are going through.

LouBudd · 27/07/2009 11:05

So sorry Cheepz. Hope you get a sympathetic ear from your doctor. A lot can be a bit funny when it is really early and won't even see you. Would be nice if they could see it for the woman's point of view.

I will get round to adding myself to the list. Been feeling to ill to do anything. I won't moan though. It's nothing compared to some of the things people have had to go through on this thread. I am 9 weeks today and feeling a bit better than last week but am using lots of tactics to distract myself from being drawn into the bathroom. Have found with this pregnancy and my other 2, the best way to beat sickness is to eat constantly, as hard as it is.

Hugs to you all, especially those having a hard time.

TakeLovingChances · 27/07/2009 11:09

Walnut8 don't worry about moaning; this thread is for all our experiences, good and bad.

Cheepz and Chubby - my thoughts are with you both.

So, yeah, my experience is an interesting one too.... DH and I have been telling a few people in RL now.... it's frankly amazing how different people can have such a wide variety of responses! My aunt gave me good advice to not get stressed out about what other people say/don't say, just let it flow over your head, otherwise we'd always be getting annoyed!

The long and short of it is, that some RL people were very very happy, others were less than impressed.

I think this might be an interesting time in finding out who our real friends are. Bring it on.

Dophus · 27/07/2009 11:22

SO those of you with DCs already - how similar is your pg so far?

I have 2 boys and my MS is far worse this time but at different times of day. I had the early waking with nausea with the boys and then it would gradually taper off during the day. This time it hits at about 8 and comes and goes all day. I am far far more tired this time as well (but that may be age and looking ater 2 boys whilst working full time!)

I'm hoping it means it's a girl!

Dophus · 27/07/2009 11:24

Also meant to ask is anyone else in maternity clothes? I'm only bloody 8 weeks and look 5 months! I'e had to tell everyone as there is no possibility of hiding it!

I'm really not exagerating!
