Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Designer- I am really bloated too. In fac tso much so that sometimes I think I must look about 5 months pregnant, although nobody has said anything to me (maybe too polite!). I have got bigger earlier with each pregnancy. With DC1 I didn't really show until about 24 weeks but others, you could tell I was definately pregnant at around 16 weeks.

Dalrymps · 19/07/2009 22:54

Hi ladies,

Morning sickness has taken me prisoner and won't set me free . Have had it all day recently, eating and drinking lots of water helps a bit but i'm just sick of it. Went for sunday lunch with the ils today and I had to eat a banana in the car on the way there then had to sit still for a few minutes before I could actually get out of the car. Felt better after i'd eaten though...

We were going to go to the metro centre tomorrow and take mil along and get Ds some more clothes and pop to ikea. I've decided not to go cause it's an hour and a half away and I think i'd just feel sick all day long. So i've told dh to go with mil and i'm going to stay at home and feel sorry for myself.

scooby - Hope the nihts haven't tired you out too much!

Caitni - Did the irn bru work?

Minicooper - How's it going?

Becky7000 - I'm not exactly 'parent of the year' with my ms at the moment. Doing the minimum to get through the day, lets hope the next few weeks pass quickly and we're all feeling better soon.

369thegoosefrankwine - at you having swine flu, you must have felt awful! Hope you're feeling a lot better now. Lol at you 'throwing yourself in to eating', i'm having to do the same, I am the carb queen!

Designerbaby - Good news on 2nd viewing, and the others. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. We had a buyer pull out on our first place and the outcome was that we got two people fighting over it and got more than the original offer . LMAO at 'real pea souper'. You have my sympathies on the ms, like you, I know people get it worse but i'm just so fed up with it!

Poppyjen - Sorry the nurse spoke to you like a 12 year old but glad you got your scan. Good luck for the scan tomorrow.

Tigress - Fantastic news on the scan! LOL at 'dildo cam' and you worrying about your lady garden, sure they've seen a lot worse

DrSkid - Thats great your friend is pg at the same time as you, you can do all the baby activities together! Just waiting for my sil to fall pg so I have a 'baby buddy'.

Marmite - Welcome and congratualtions on your BFP

Kay1980 - Welcome and congratualtions on your BFP

Sariska - Hope you don't get the bug! Hope your ds is feeling a lot better now...

Vixie123 - Welcome and congratulations on your BFP

Arcadie - I worried I wasn't really pg before my ms started and did another test, of course was a v strong bfp too. I think I must have done 6 or 7 tests this time , I am convinced now LOL

Chubby - Sorry the scan didn't go so well. Must be awful being in limbo and having to wait. Hoping that a miracle happens for you. Take care of yourself and try to rest.

pureeandpearls - Why do those pg tests cost so much??? I bet they cost about 2p to make!

To those of you talking about stomach muscles I haven't seen my in action for a long time! I had a small bump with ds but I've still looked about 5 months pg ever since! I made a few half hearted attempts at sit ups since but am too lazy to keep it up! Whats the point now anyway, it's just gonna get stretched all over again!

marmitemad · 20/07/2009 10:43

Morning ladies,

Thanks for the warm welcome, am very annoyed that I forgot to bring my marmite jar into work this morning.

Chubbymummy - Sorry to hear about your confusing news, hoping that you are resting and things work out well for you.

Well I ended up telling my little sis on sat morning during the Barnardos big toddle but I haven?t confessed this to dh yet. Found it very hard to see friends and other family, felt like I was wearing a big sign round my neck .

My belly is feeling very strange, with lots of bloating/discomfort and pg insomnia has also kicked in, with hardly any sleep the last 2 nights, am going to turn into a zombie soon.

Can?t remember who was in Farnborough, Hants but I am fairly local as well and am planning to go to Frimley Park this time hopefully.

Oh and I have done 3 tests this time, 1st BFN was a cheap tesco one @ 25days, 2nd BFN or very, very faint BFP (tesco) @ 30 days and finally a definite BFP with CB @ 34 days. I am planning to do another this Friday before ringing the docs to book in.

Ooh cake time here (at work), will pop back later

Cheepz · 20/07/2009 10:45

Morning - Just found out am in your club 0 due date i think is around 25th march, this will be number two as have 2 yr old ds, confirmed yesterday just before read in the paper about how women should defer getting pregnant until after latest peak of swine flu has passed - thanks for theat, but horse has bolted!

congrats to all on here, is so good to be able to share as other than DH and my folks I haven't told a soul. will most likely try and keep it under wraps for as long as can keep tummy under wraps although they say second time you bust out much earlier

so far no symptoms so and was convinced we hadn't managed it this month - but two BFPs later I have convinced myself it is real!

Hello, can I play too?

I'm due on 10th March with no.2

Feeling very sick and tired and looking forward to scans and getting to the end of the first 12 weeks

Keep trying not to get carried away as it's early days but I guess morning sickness is a good sign?

Congrats everyone on your BFP's!!!

PotPourri · 20/07/2009 11:33

Hi everyone. Sorry not been on for ages. Been soooo sick wtih this MS. And feeling so sorry for myself most of the time. I have terrible headaches and can't stand the kids shouting. It's like a drill being put in my head! Boo hoo. My belly has started to get big over the weekend, so much so that I am putting away my nice nonmaternity clothes now and wearing by bigger size postnatal clothes - as I made that mistake a couple of times before and had no clothes after the baby, once I got rid of the baby blubber. Not sure how much longer I can keep it a secret.

Minicooper - just to say, don't worry about feelign guilty or betraying dc1 with dc2. I felt exactly the same, and when dc2 arrived, it was amazing, quite simply more love just appeared. Adn the same wtih dc3. And when they all kiss and cuddle each other, I could quite literally burst with love and affection.

Designer - hope the house situation is getting better. I have also started the weird dreams. It's surreal!! So vivid and almost as if it really happened - except that it is total nonsense!

Arcadia - I just ran a marathon earlier this year, but have not done much since due to the morning sickness. But if it floats your boat, go for it. Just beware that your ligaments soften so you need to watch your knees and hips etc. Get some new trainers if yours are getting a bit worn, and stick to grass or tracks rather than tarmac - and definately avoid steep cambers on the road.

Josie - on not drinking. I find saying you are on antibiotics is the best bet. Tigresswoods, the ear infection one is amoxicillin

Becky - I am with you on the angry parenting style. It makes me feel awful, but then I feel terrible to start with which is why I have such a short fuse. I am trying really hard not to lose it with the kids and am doing big hugs and praise where I can - maybe that is a bit confusing for them actually. I hope not. Anyway, just need to sit it out til this morning sickness passes - it does get better when it is just tiredness and being fat getting in the way! On the pelvic floor - exercise! It's the only answer!

369 - Wow - a pregnant swine flu victim! So glad you came out of it. Am trying not to stress too much about it myself. The avoiding crowds thing the government have said is kind of impossible for anyone who ever had to work in a city (London) though.

Chuby - so sorry for your confusing news. I know nothing about anything, but I would have thought that growing is a good sign. Rest rest rest and lots of good vibes coming from here for you.

PotPourri · 20/07/2009 11:37

becky, can't see you on the list...

Dophus · 20/07/2009 11:42

Just popping in to say hello.

Feeling too ill to do much. Pretty much constant nausea and extreme tireness. Much worse than my previous two.

Just ... another... month. Got ... to .... make ....it.

Marmite - I will also be sproggin at Frimley

Tigresswoods · 20/07/2009 12:32

Hi Marmitemad it was me in F'boro Hants. Have been to Frimley Park this week just gone for Early Pregnancy Scan. it is where I will probably give birth although at the moment I am considering a home birth. Secretly I am hoping someone will give me a good reason why I wouldn't want a home birth as it just seems like too good an idea at the moment.

But then this is no1 and I could be bing totally idealistic?!

"DH, make me some toast, bring me some tea..."

You see, it makes sense!

stickybean · 20/07/2009 12:36

Hi Everyone,

I've not read the whole thread but just popping in to say hi.
I'm due on 7th March i think. This is my second baby

Hope everyone is feeling well.

Stickybean

Cheepz · 20/07/2009 12:48

tigresswoods - wouldn't want to burst your bubble so keep the home birth dream alive

although it will be more like 'bring me some f*cking pain relief and ramp up the tens machine RIGHT NOW'

... actually this will me my no2 and despite the previous birth experience I will be considering a home birth this time around, last time was in hospital for a water birth but bleeding was too heavy by the time i was 6 cms and they wouldn't let me get in so it was at hospital in one of their family rooms au natural as it was too late for pain relief , in truth, by the end I wouldn't have given a toss where I was as long as it was over

Minicooper · 20/07/2009 12:51

Ah, thanks Potpourri - that's what I wanted to hear! Well, I've just gone against all government swine flu advice and spent the morning in a very busy, crowded park. Hmmm suspect the chance of getting swine flu is lower than chance of me going completely stark raving mad being stuck inside with a toddler while suffering from ms!

Chubby - sorry things are still ambiguous - hope you have better news this week - sounds like there is still some hope.x

becky7000 · 20/07/2009 13:04

I haven't added myself to the list yet as I'm not sure of a due date. I never had AF between DC3 and BFP and I was taking the pill so my very rough guess is early March but could be 2 weeks either side as I may have ignored signs for a while but could have been imagination! I've got my scan on Thursday so will let you know then!

In the mean time I guess I am:

Becky7000 EDD "No idea-I should know pregnancy signs by now!" #4

marmitemad · 20/07/2009 13:22

Tigresswoods - right after dds birth (at Royal Berks in Reading) I was adamant I would be having a home water birth 2nd time round (much to dhs dismay) but in the last 18 months both my sis in laws have had differing complications which has made me feel it would be better to be in a hospital where help is immediately available if needed. I also have other health complications so will probably be under consultant care, I would however love to use the birthing pool after being told I wasn't allowed last time "in case I couldn't get out"

Dophus - hope you are managing to rest and start feeling better soon

Dophus · 20/07/2009 13:46

Tigress - also toyed with the idea of a home birth first time round. However as breech not allowed. Both times have ended in emergencies and I would hate to have been transferred.

I wouldn't even consider it now. The thought of being transferred in the middle of labour horrifies me.

Arcadie · 20/07/2009 14:55

Wow - this thread has shifted up a notch today!!!

Phoned midwife for a chat about the bleed this am just to see what the official York PCT line was on early bleeds. Upshot is that I have an early scan at EPADS on Wednesday. Must not start bricking it.....

Cheepz · 20/07/2009 15:16

fingers crosseed for you Arcadie

I have just come home from the office with a sore throat .... colleague who I spent all morning with on Friday is off with the big SF now and am feeling rather concerned

however could just be that the media driven anxiety is causing me to feel bad and the sore throat is nothing more than a pregnancy symptom

very hard not to overeact!

Dophus · 20/07/2009 15:54

Cheepz - I did that on Thursday - convinvced myself I had SF.

I am not a hyperchondriac and never given to media hysteria. For some bizarre hormone-induced irrationality has hit me.

hey ho.

I just want it over and done so I can stop bloody worrying about it!

Cheepz · 20/07/2009 15:57

dolphus

right with you there, although also worried about my ds (2) that i might give it to him and that my dh is rubbish at coping when i am sick!

now have dicky tummy - but that could easily be anxiety induced!

becky7000 · 20/07/2009 16:00

On the subject of Home Births, I had a very straight forward labour with DC1 and was told I would be a good "candidate" for a home birth second time round. However, I chose to have DC2 and DC3 in hospital (despite very straight forward births again)and (as long as I make it) I would like DC4 in hospital.

This is just my personal choice because I would be worried about how clean the house was when the midwives were here, having fresh milk etc (silly I know but I think any additional stress in labour isn't good).

However, I have got a lot of friends who have had home births and really enjoyed the experience. I think if you think that you would feel less stressed in your own home and are prepared for plans to change if they
need to and you do not live a really long way from the nearest hospital should you need more help then go for it.

scooby26 · 20/07/2009 16:38

Hi all,

Welcome to the newbies and glad all the old hats are doing well (ish) coping (ish) with MS and stresses of early pregnancy. Been on a first aid course resuscitating good ol Annie today. Think I saved her but wanted to fall asleep on her by the end!

Home births- if I get that far (which I hope we do but until we see a scan its still hard to believe) I can't ever imagine circumstances when I would think a home birth would be right for me. I know I would be worried about what if I/baby needed help and I'd panick at it being 15mins away. My DH is also super sensible and him stressing about the same would compound it even more and would not make for a stress free birth. Good luck to anyone who decides it is for them.

I hope everyone who has scans this week gets good news - especially chubbymummy- keep those feet up and rested!

monkeysmaketheworldgoround · 20/07/2009 19:25

hello ladies! sorry to say i shall be bowing out from this thread. been bleeding since yesterday morning. had scan this morning and they confirmed mc. feeling ok ish i think. want the whole mc to end quickly then we can ttc again. this time wasn't meant to be for us.

becky7000 · 20/07/2009 20:17

MMTWGR- I'm so sorry to read about your mc. Good luck for the future. Hopefully will see you on a future thread soon.
