Chubby -hope all went well x

Doctorskidaddle · 17/07/2009 21:23

chubby - thinking of you too

tigress - good news! I had vague lady garden concens for labour but then just couldn't be bothered doing anything about it plus I thought with all the blood, poo and baby coming out, how recently I had trimmed would be the last concern of the MW!

Great news caitni

good luck for Monday poppyjen - I'm sure all will be well

db - I had MS with DD and no MS with DS so don't think it's gender-dependent (although I must confess I have been convincing myself that this one's a girl because I have MS again...)

oh my goodness 369 poor you. Hope you are over the worst of it now.

Just found out my friend is pg today so we will be on mat leave together - hurrah! It's so nice to have your baby at the same time as someone you know - it's never happened to me before so am really pleased

Hi everyone else

369thegoosedrankwine · 18/07/2009 09:40

Hi everyone,

Felt that I skim read all posts the other day in my ill state.

Tigress lovely news. Really pleased for you. LOL at the ladygarden issue I would feel exactly the same.

DB We had our last buyer pull out of our house purchase the day before exchange of contracts - 7 days before Christmas 2005. It was awful and I know that in the grand scheme of things it doens't matter, but it is v.stressful.

DrS good news about your friend. 'Tis lovely to have someone to moan aboutshare the joys of pregnancy with.

Poppyjen good luck for Monday. Fingers crossed for both of us.

I am still suffering MS but I think I am actually used to feel queasy all the time. The only thing that helps is eating so I have thrown myself into it and I cannot stop eating yoghurts, strawberries and crisps. Vegetables and salad make me feel ill just looking at them though.

marmitemad · 18/07/2009 10:00

Hello girls,

Can I join you all?

a late BFP from me as my cycle seems to be very long (33 days), am still very much in as this was our first month of trying although I secretly knew as my boobs have been killing me for nearly 2 weeks now but no other symptoms yet.

we already have a beautiful but very challenging 2.5 dd (who fortunately still naps at lunchtime so am really hoping that carries on for a while )

No idea how long I am going to keep this quiet as have a very perceptive group of ante-natal friends from first time round and haven't yet managed to re-discover my stomach muscles (pilates at work is interesting ) but hey ho to get to my mums surprise 60th birthday meal on 8th aug would be fabulous

hoping there are some more latecomers after me, was very frustrating last time watching all the babies come in and being left behind (dd was 10 days late after beign due on valentines day)

anyway will stop waffling now and go off to catch up on you all.....

designerbaby · 18/07/2009 12:31

HI marmite - lovely to have you join us - I'm sure that there'll be a few more come alond later in the months and that you won't bleft behind this time - the same happened to me last time, as DD was due on the 27th October but decided not to turn up until the 10th November by which time the whole thread had given up and moved on!

So welcome and congratulations!

It's tough keeping it quiet isn't it - especially as, like you, my stomach muscles never recovered for going overdue with my 9lbs 8oz DD (I'm 5ft1"), plus some general first trimester bloating, so I already look about 5 months gone!

I'm also overjoyed to find someone else who eats marmite out of the jar (except i do this all the time, not just when I'm pg!). I can tel my DH I'm not the only one who has this disgusting habit! .

Oh and some good news from Designerbaby Villas - we have a second viewing on Monday from one of the viewings we had yesterday! And this buyer had an offer accepted on his place 2 months ago, and that sale is at the point of exchange so is very keen to move fast. So here's hoping that all is not lost. Two more viewings this pm as well.

I have my stubborn face on and am not giving up on this one just yet...

Tigress, I hadn't seen my ladygarden from about 6 months pregnant with my DD - so couldn't really have done anything about it anyway. The amount of meconium my DD passed during labour though, meant that trimming was the least of worries - my midwife described it as a real 'pea souper'... TMI? probably... maybe I don't know you all well anough for that kind of info yet!

Chubby? Feeling very anxious for you. Please let us know how things are when you're able?

Love to everyone else,

db

no, scooby, just lucky...

DD was up at 5.30am (again...)

Arcadie · 18/07/2009 15:58

DB no such thing as TMI on Mumsnet IMO

designerbaby · 18/07/2009 16:11

Oh, goodness! That's a relief! Still I won't go into all the gruesome details of my first birth experience - to protect the sensibilites of all first-timer on this thread - it wouldn't be fair!

pureeandpearls · 18/07/2009 19:47

Welcome Marmite.

DB- agree no such thing as TMI esp if you are a child-bearing veteran Sympathies with early waking- my daughter was up at 5.45, which seems to be her preferred time slot. Fortunately convinced DH to give me a lie-in as I drove 8 hours back from France on Thursday and am still knackered from five days of single-parenting.

Scooby- take it where you can get it!

FWIW I have done a reasonably good job of shirking the baby weight (I had very bad SPD last time round and needed quite a lot of phsio.) I am lighter now than I was before I conceived DD (showed at 8 weeks). But I am already showing. Have decided to blame genetics.

Thinking of chubby xx

kay1980 · 18/07/2009 21:59

Hello ladies, I am very tentively going to join this group I am 5+1 I have got an 8 year old DD but I have had 3 MC's since then the last one being about 3 months ago. I hope that I will be on here for the next 8 months or so

Eating marmite out of the jar, DB? Ooh, yes, I do this too. I love love love it. It would be my desert island luxury, no question!

So, welcome marmitemad - and, of course, also to Kay1980. I hope it is fourth time lucky for you

My ms has rather taken a back seat ever since about midnight on Thursday night when DS decided to treat us to a bout of projectile vomiting that only subsided after we had used every cot sheet and baby sleeping bag in the house. [Sariska makes a mental note that four cot sheets is in no way sufficient.] He seems a lot better now but I had to take Friday as a holiday to look after him and we canceled a party we were supposed to be having today. DH and I are now wondering when we can count ourselves safe from the bug.

Chubby - hope you are OK.

Arcadie · 18/07/2009 23:58

Welcome kay1980 and Marmite looking forward to having you along for the ride.

Feeling very for Chubby and pessimisticly assuming that no news is bad news. Hope I am just being a pessimist.

Hi Ladies

I found out I was pregnant last Saturday, now that I have recovered from the shock I am very excited. 'Touch wood' I am not suffering too badly with the MS and hope this will continue. Although waking up between 4 to 5 am is starting to take its toll....

Vixie just how many other children do you have!? ( and welcome)

Did another test today because had worried myself into "can't be pregnant" mentality. VVBFP. Good.

Arcadie · 19/07/2009 16:12

Just wondered - what's the highest number of tests you've done in one pregnancy. A friend of mine must have been up to 5 packets ( ie 10 tests!)

chubbymummy · 19/07/2009 16:59

Hi Ladies. Sorry it's taken me so long to post and thanks for all your concerns.
The scan didn't go very well. The baby had grown (10 days worth in 7 days) but there is still no heartbeat. The midwife said that after clearly viewing a yolk sac the week before she should have been able to get a clear heartbeat by now and thinks that the pregnancy is probably over and the growth has been falsly caused by my hormones (has anyone ever heard of this before???????). She was very honest and told me that it is extremely unlikely that the pregnancy will progress. I have to now spend another week in limbo and go back for yet another scan this Friday. I'm more confused than ever and my head is a complete mess. I understand what the midwife is saying but logic tells me that growth can only be a good thing and I can't help but cling onto the hope that I will see a heartbeat on Friday (although since I'll be nearly 9 weeks by then I'm sure if I was going to see one I would have done by now).
I had another bleed on Friday night too , typically it was the first time (other than to go to the hospital) that I'd left the house since all this started. I was at a wedding and ended up coming home early, not that I was in a party mood anyway. The bleeding didn't last long and there hasn't been any since but I don't think I'll be going anywhere for the next week or so incase it happens again.

becky7000 · 19/07/2009 18:19

Clubbymummy- I'm really sorry things aren't going well for you. Make sure you have plenty of rest and are kind to yourself.

Poppyjen · 19/07/2009 19:03

Chubbymummy, really sorry things aren't more positive, as Becky7000 says, please be kind to yourself (and make everyone else look after you too )

Arcadie - I've now done 10 HPTs...4 x First Response, 2 x Clearblue Digital and 4 x Tesco - just for the fun of seeing the line get darker each time. In my defense, I bought the tesco ones before I knew I was pregnant (but couldn't wait so bought First Response too ) so I thought I would just use them up...

I am not having any MS at the moment (touch wood) which whilst I am thankful for, does make me feel not very pregnant, hence the tests. Yep. Still pregnant.
Hopefully tomorrow's scan will make everything feel a bit more real

Oh Chubbymummy - that's bloody horrible for you - no good news, but still no definite bad news ? it's almost worse. REally thinking of you. Like Beck and Poppy said - please be very kind to yourself...

I now seem to have morning sickness starting at around 3-4pm every day and going on until I go to sleep. No actually puking (so far) just constant nausea. It's really getting me down - even though I know it's not half as bad as some people get it. It's just I had none with DD, so was kind of expecting not to have any this time either.

Bluergh.

I'm also really achy and bloated - and hoping this is nothing to worry about... It's normal, right? Again, I just don't remember it from the last time around.

Might just go to bed. At least if I'm asleep, I can't a) feel sick or b) feel stressed about house stuff. I ought really to clear up the house and make sure it's a show-home for our second viewing tomorrow though... really hope they make an offer... but it's a long-shot.

pureeandpearls · 19/07/2009 20:15

Chubbymummy- so very sorry that it wasn't better news. Make sure everyone is taking good care of you. (((hugs)))

Arcadie- FWIW I did twelve with my DD. Only did 6 this time (including one of those digital-tell-you-how-pregnant-you-are ones. Seriously- would you spend that kind of money on one of those if you aren't certain you are pregnant?)

Arcadie · 19/07/2009 20:31

Chubby but like you say - hopeful that growth would be a good thing. How would the baby grow if there was no heartbeat? Why would your body keep pumping the hormones in if they weren't necessary. I know ABSOLUTELY nothing about the biology of it all but really hope pregnancy will progress. Feel shocking for you that you have another week to wait....

P&P How much are the "You're 6 weeks pregnant" ones?

Arcadie · 19/07/2009 20:32

and Poppyjen at your 10 HPTs!!! There's hope for me yet.

chubbymummy · 19/07/2009 20:45

Arcadie - apparently it's something to do with hormones and fluid in the sac helping the baby to grow until the placenta forms and takes over. My pregnancy hormones haven't reduced (they didn't when I had my last mmc either, they only went down after the ERPC) so they are continuing to do their job -including causing morning sickness and tiredness.
