OOH im off to have a look for some myself! Im a shortie too (5'3), buying maternity jeans/trousers a real pain!. Ive just ordered a 'belly belt' which extends your normal trousers/skirts/jeans so you can get more wear out of them.

SarahL2 · 04/07/2009 17:55

These are the ones. I got the short leg in sulphur which is the stone washed effect. They're about an inch too long on me which is just how I like them

My weight keeps bouncing, some days I've put on 3lbs, other days 8, then it'll go up an down again. Hospital don't know when they can fit me in for scan, but will definitely be after 22 weeks, so went for private scan today...it's a boy!!!!

4thtimelucky · 05/07/2009 10:13

Been a while but I am still here! 18+3 today! Have my 20 week scan on 27th July - the combined test at week 12 came up with a 1:63 risk so the very nice consultant we saw after that result is doing the scan. Scared but also excited - I think/hope after this scan I will start really believing it! Definitely showing the last week or so and tummy flutterings started about 10 days ago, funny one yesterday looking at baby clothes in asda, so perhaps it's a girl?! But DP & I been referring to it as he for weeks and have only come up with boys names so it's bound to be a girl - my mum will be made up with that!

Scorps · 05/07/2009 15:29

ooh exciting gender finding! Just under 5 weeks to wait for us.

Millie - i am still under 9 stone, don't worry.

Kingsroadie · 05/07/2009 17:43

Am seriously jealous of those of you who haven't put much weight on. First preg, am 5ft6' and weighed 8st5 pre-preg. Now at 18+4 am 9st! That's a gain of 9 lbs. And I didn't really put an on before 13 weeks, possibly a lb or two. So essentially have put on 2 lbs per week in past 5 weeks, which seems like a hell of a lot to me! Btw am eating no more at all than pre-preg (promise am not delluding myself either) so I just don't get it. I mean I suppose most of it could be extra blod, boobs, fluid and a tiny bit of baby uterus and placenta. Want do you all think?! I think my hips have got slightly bigger but that only accounts for a lb or two and am still in size 8 clothes and mat clothes.

Sorry to moan to you all (I know I am so lucky to be pregnant and have no probs etc and be so healthy)- just finding it a bit hard as I never worried about my weight before and am even eating probably more healthily for the baby (ie cutting back on chocolate, sweets and crisps) which obv isn't making any difference apart from not filling the baby with E numbers I suppose! Anyone else feel like this?!

Devongirl · 05/07/2009 19:04

I had low blood pressure at MW checkup on Thursday and didn't think too much of it but have been really giddy, nauseous, double vision, hot, cold etc etc all weekend and it's horrible. I was feeling really good up to this week as well so am really pissed off.

I think the only treatment is to drink more water, and include more salt in my diet so DH has gone out to get me some crisps so that's nice.

Anyone else had this?

SarahL2 · 05/07/2009 19:57

I've been geeting very light headed occasionally, definitely nauseous a lot of the time and been very hot now and again, ooh and I keep getting either really mild head aches or strange, short-lived, but really painful stabbing pains in the back of my head.

Got my midwife check-up on Thursday so will mention all this to her then.

I am feeling well other than that though so not too worried

LaDiDaDi · 05/07/2009 20:02

Checking in again after my hols.

I've been in a bikini though I think I look horrid and like I have no waist but not yet obv. pregnant iyswim.

15+1 here and it still seems like such a long way to go although I know that I shouldn't moan.

Scorps · 05/07/2009 20:16

Devongirl - i have had that, its only just stopped. Eat little and often, carry a snack in your handbag, etc. it will pass

Ladida - im 15+2 and time is draggggging

However, have bought the baby some cloth nappies as offer was so cheap. i got 15 tots bots nappies (3x each of colours) and 5 wraps and 10 fleecy liners (washable too) for £82.50, and 2 itti bitti's, one purple and one tiger print for £25, so just over £100 for all its nappies til 6 months (ish). Very chuffed.

Have also decided to buy a P&T sport (and cocoon, footmuff etc) for baby and dd. fabby. Will get that at 30 ish weeks though, i don't want to store it out of the house you see but cannot bear it being around for so long without using

SarahL2 · 05/07/2009 20:21

I'm going to get a P&T Sport too with all the accsessories - let me know if you find anywhere cheap Scorps

OP posts:
Scorps · 05/07/2009 20:36

Well im getting p&t sport in black & charcoal, doubles kit, cocoon, footmuff and raincover for £500.

If you only need a single, have a look on amazon or ebay.

SarahL2 · 05/07/2009 20:41

I need a double. DS will be 2.9 when baby arrives.

Where are you getting yours from?

OP posts:
Scorps · 05/07/2009 20:45

Local baby shop. Ebay do very good deals, if you won't get much use (i see your ds is already 2) i really would look at ebay second hand ones, most are immaculate.

The dash is very similar too.

Scorps · 05/07/2009 20:48

here

the footmuff is an extra £50, i want one for dd as she will only be 119 months and i want her to be snug (i dont drive and walk everywhere, in the rain lol)

Scorps · 05/07/2009 20:48

19 months, lol

Moosy · 05/07/2009 21:12

Kingsroadie, I think it's normal not to put on any weight to speak of in the first trimester, then something like 80% of your weight gain done in the 2nd trimester so you sound about right, don't worry!

Devongirl, at my MW check last week my BP was 82/42 so I know exactly how you feel! I get dizzy every time I stand up and have been feeling sick again Drinking more and eating more salt doesn't seem to be making much difference yet but the cooler weather is certainly helping lots. If you feel really bad lie on your left side with your legs elevated, that gets the most blood to your brain!

I have a P&T e3 (bought about 3 months before the sport came out ) and it's been brilliant but is looking a little worn now after 2.5 years use. I'd love to get a Dash but just can't justify the expense. I got ours from a local shop but I think kiddicare was the cheapest at the time.

ViktoriaMac · 06/07/2009 01:22

My bp is always pretty low, but at the weekend I had a serious feeling that I was going to throw up and pass out at the same time. Then my ears blocked and the room went dark. Very scary. Luckily it happened at my scan so the sonographer knew what was happening! Does salt help? Must try it!

SarahL2 · 06/07/2009 07:21

Thanks Scorps. I'll probably get away without a footmuff for my active DS but will no doubt need one for new baby once s/he gets past the newborn stage. Could always get that later though...

I've got my appointment with the "Birth Afterthoughts" people at the hospital today to discuss why DS's birth turned into such a nightmare and I am really nervous. Either I'm going to find out that they made a whole load of mistakes and I'm going to be even more scared of giving birth there again or I'm going to find out that my body's just not up to it and I'm going to be mad and disappointed at myself.

Not sure I relish the idea of going through it all again either, even just in words

Here's hoping I feel better for being more informed afterwards....

OP posts:
Devongirl · 06/07/2009 12:29

Sorry for the rest of you also suffering from low BP - doctor said this morning its dehydration caused by a stomach bug I had, and to drink loads of water virtually constantly all day which I am trying to do, and small carbohydratey snacks (cakes obviously?) He listened to heart beat and that was fine so I'm not too worried now, I can take anything as long as LO is alright.

Good luck Sarah, it's horrible going through it all but might be cathartic? I had to go through it with my DS's birth with the senior midwife here, and it was very hard to put it into words, and very emotional, but it definitely helped me xxx

SarahL2 · 06/07/2009 12:31

Thanks Devongirl - am actually beginning to feel quite tearful about it all.

Will be glad when it's over

Just looked up the person I'm going to see - she's the Matron of MK hospital!

Scorps · 06/07/2009 13:42

Sarah - can you have a home birth this time? You may feel more relaxed at home.

I got cloth nappies for dd today, she looks so cute in them! Picking up the baby's on Saturday (got them early, they were half price!).

Moosy · 06/07/2009 13:48

Where did you get the cheap nappies Scorps?

Stigaloid · 06/07/2009 13:52

Moosy - we have the same BP - i find it really tiring. I am also really fed up of being backed up and living on Fibrogel! Gah!

SarahL2 - i am also freaking out about birth - big hugs to you. We got our P&T sport from a local lady selling hers second hand - came with absolutely all accessories for £200 - ebay is also good. DS1 loves riding in it already - prefers it to old buggy so selling that soon to make back some of the money.

anyone's 20 week scan soon? Mines first week of august.

DS1 is 2 years old today
