I know, me too really but I'm resigned to it after last time. It might just be that 3 years ago when I was pregnant the first time it was a hot summer so my hayfever was worse, as it is this year, and the two summers in between were pretty lousy, but it is quite a coincidence.

Hey ho, it's all worth it in the end, although it's quite annoying and embarrassing at the moment - using my son's muslin at playgroup was very attractive I'm sure.

Pinkjenny · 26/06/2009 15:37

I've never suffered with hayfever, so still hoping it's a cold

Devongirl · 26/06/2009 16:03

Aw poor you - first time I've ever said this to anyone but I hope you've got a cold too!

(but hope it's very mild and goes away quickly)

I'm sure your nausea will go soon too xxx

legscrossed · 26/06/2009 16:53

Summermagic, I was so convinced that period was coming I had a good old drink thinking game over for that month. Sore boobs, loads of zits , shocking mood and period grinding pain day after day.
For the uninformed (myself) that was conception. Only realised after BFP and coming on here for reassurance. Thought it may not be 'a stayer' due to period/miscarriage type pain. Even warned DP not to get too excited, but now 18 weeks.
Good luck n all that

legscrossed · 26/06/2009 16:55

Apologies conception should have been implantation

SarahL2 · 26/06/2009 17:05

Not good for those of us that have been feeling extra sick in the heat...heatwave

Oh joy. I felt awful yesterday when it was muggy, I think it affected my blood pressure (it's a bit low), I felt really faint all day until the thunder storm cleared the air over night.

Devongirl, I have those red dots all over my chest already, I don't know what they are but I get them every time. I had them all over my arms and face last time too. They disappeared soon after the birth though.

My 20 week scan is on the 22nd July, we'll be finding out the sex if we can.

The DDs keep talking about the baby in my tummy, DD1 is annoyed that she has to wait for 'soooo loooong' for it to come out and wants me to call it Cinderella. DD2 keeps stroking my tummy and saying 'I like your baby' which is really very nice!

Baisey · 26/06/2009 20:22

20 week scan is on 28th July.
My DS cant wait, he was proudly pushing the new pram around announcing to everyone in the room it was for the "bebby" Twas very cute.

Is anyone else getting pains in their hips when they walk? I only have to walk a short distance and I get awful pains towards the back and down my legs, didnt have it first time round, but I didnt have anything first time round so im not sure if its "normal" or not? It gets so bad that I literally have to stop moving and sit down if I can, which isnt good when you are only 16 weeks!!!

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/06/2009 20:32

Just popping in to mark my place - back from hols today and lots of washing and other dull things to do

Glad scan went well PJ (and others)

Will be back on soon and I swear I can feel flutters as well

biscuitsmustbedunkedintea · 26/06/2009 21:44

Baisey - the pains you've got when walking could be SPD. May be worth speaking to your midwife.

Got the nicest response to telling a work colleague I'm pregnant. Straight after congratulating me he asked if I was still getting morning sickness. When I replied yes he caught hold of my wrist and pressed a point on it. Apparently it's the acupressure point to help morning sickness (Colleague a trained masseur and acupressure whatsit. Think that may come in handy!) Such a thoughtful chap, been trying it out this morning, seemed to lessen the sick feeling.

DH and I have agreed on a name should it be another girl - Hurrah! Last time it took us far longer. Boy names are proving more problematic as DH a Scout Leader so most names provoke a response in him

LaDiDaDi · 27/06/2009 08:50

My 20 week scan is on 12th August.

I want a proper bump not just looking a bit fatter round the middle! Really struggled to buy some new jeans yesterday as mine are starting to get really uncomfortable by the end of the day but everything I tried on was far too big and not necessarily where a bump will grow iyswim. I've bought some and a belt to hold them up .

SarahL2 · 27/06/2009 09:45

My 20 week scan is on the 11th August. Looking forward to seeing baby again.

Is it just me or do maternity jeans fit really badly?
last time I bought some great ones from H&M but my local one has stopped doing maternity clothes now grrr.

BexieID · 27/06/2009 22:34

I'm having another scan at 24 weeks as it's easier to determine babies size with my BMI being 47 . I also have a GTT at 28 weeks. I have also been given the option to have an elective section at 39 weeks due to me having a 3rd degree tear with Tom and the possibility of being made incontinent. I hate making decisions!

ViktoriaMac · 27/06/2009 23:36

Ohhh, am so jealous, I have moved house in the last couple of weeks and have registered with new doctor but do not yet have a date for my 20 scan. Booo.

cairnterrier · 28/06/2009 08:41

Does anyone else seem to get spikes of hormones? I've been feeling better from the nausea/sickness point of view for the last 2 weeks then lo and behold yesterday the nausea and faintness were back - DH had to rescue me from the supermarket cos I nearly fainted in there!

Overnight the boob fairy has been back in business and today they're back to being tender and painful again.

The only thing that I can think of is that my body for some reason has released a lot of hormones at the same time. Has anyone else found this?

LittleMonkeysMummy · 28/06/2009 09:08

Oh Cairn, I can sympathise. Have been feeling sooo ill lately. I was never this ill with DD. Am so looking forward to Tuesday at 4.30 when I'm on holiday for 6 whole weeks (the joys of being a teacher )

20 week scan is on the 14th of Aug but unfortunately DH will be away offshore again (was the same with DD - he made it to the 1st by arriving at the airport about 20mins before the scan)

Anyone else become a complete insomniac? Soooo shattered and I was never a brilliant sleeper before

legscrossed · 28/06/2009 20:10

with u on the insomnia, Does anyone know from prev experience any physio exercises to strengthen pelvis. Am doing pelvic floor but been getting random pubic bone aches and am worried about this spd thing.
Midwife says go to physio sessions but they are at such awkward and seldom times wont manage this till almost 7 months preg!
Am PT so cannot get time off as have enough free time anyway. Hoping its only ligaments straining

ViktoriaMac · 28/06/2009 21:39

Yep, also totally can not sleep at night and shattered all day.

cairnterrier · 29/06/2009 11:09

Current sleeping patterns for me are 8pm to 4am then wide awake from there on - why????

Baisey · 29/06/2009 13:05

biscuits... yeah I thought maybe SPD, but thankfully it seems to have eased off a bit.

The heat isnt helping with my sleeping, plus my DS toilet trained himself last week and now he is night training himself, so im keeping an ear out for him just incase. I say "himself" because he wont let me help, he MUST do it by himself, I swear he's that independent he'll be moving out this time next year!

Is anyone else struggling with the heat?

Devongirl · 29/06/2009 15:34

This is completely off our topics on here but I don't want to start a new thread for it so I'm going to ask you guys - do any of your DCs have permanently runny noses and if so have you or anyone you know tried swapping cows milk for goats milk? We are going to try it I think as my boy is so snotty poor little thing. Any thoughts? Ideas? Advice? Ta

ps heat is not very nice, but I feel guilty moaning about it as it'll be raining and cold soon enough x

Milliemuffin · 29/06/2009 21:43

Devongirl - I was getting worried about my DS (he's 2) having a cold for almost 2 weeks but my mum said it's probably just that he's too young to blow his nose properly and that combined with the hot weather, she basically said not to worry.

As for the sleeping my DS usually gets up around 7-7.30 but on Sunday when DP was sleeping downstairs cos he was snoring and DS decided to lie in til 8.45 guess who was wide awake from 7am! My perfect chance for a lie-in but it wasn't to be.

I'm trying to think what christmas presents I can buy in advance but I really dont know where to start! Anyone else started theirs?

My belly is aching tonight, like a period ache, trying not to think about it but can't help it...

LittleMonkeysMummy · 30/06/2009 12:07

My DD has a nose tat could run a marathon at the moment Took her to the docs and she's got hayfever (just like her mum - she's all my best bits)

Not that hayfever has stopped her. She's turning into quite the wee escapologist I was woken up at 3 this morning wih her pulling the duvet off of the bed - still trying to figure out how she managed to get out of her cot. Am seriously thinking about setting up CCTV in her room
