I would like CCTV in my son's room too - he takes about an hour to settle down in the evening while he plays all sorts of games with his teddy bear, it's very funny to listen to but at the moment he's waking up shattered in the morning cos he's up too late!

He has had a runny nose for about 8 months, and although some of that could be a cold, and some could be hayfever as we both suffer from it, it can't all be. We're giving it 7 days of no cow's milk to see how we get on and if it makes any difference at all, so we'll see...

SarahL2 · 30/06/2009 16:08

Has anyone elses pelvic floor given up the ghost already?

It was always a little dodgy after DS and I used to wee a little when trampolining but now I'm peeing almost every time I sneeze and as I have hayfever (which I can't take anything for) I'm sneezing quite a bit!

It's so annoying and embarassing

OP posts:
Devongirl · 30/06/2009 17:23

Are you doing your exercises? Have you damaged your PF before or just weakened it with DS?

On my yoga video it tells you to picture your exercises as if you are picking up a tissue from the floor which is quite a graphic way of visualising it I think. It also says do 4 of them every hour to strengthen it.

Giving birth is really quite a thankless thing when you think about what you end up like afterwards! I had a CS with DS so pelvic floor ok but I still have a really ugly scar and a lovely bit on my tummy that hangs over the scar very attractively! Grrrr.

SarahL2 · 30/06/2009 18:08

I had a section too Devongirl (and I also have that lovely apron of skin that wouldn't go no matter how much weight I lost )

I was told that I had a very strong PF by one of the midwives who checked me while I was in labour with DS but at the same time, I also had the most painful stretch and sweep I've ever heard of (made me scream and left me in agony for hours afterwards till it was numbed by the epidural) so it's left me wondering whether the consultant damaged me in some way.

Wouldn't suprise me. Would just be another point on the list of cock-ups that was my last delivery

erm i put my name down on other thread, please can you add me to your "club" i am due dec 26th. thanks very much!!!hello everyone!!!

Devongirl · 01/07/2009 13:00

Hello madremia09, welcome to our thread.

Sarah, that sounds horrible, poor you. Well done for going for it again! Are you going to a different hospital/unit this time?

Still keep trying with the exercises every hour tho, it might make a difference x

SarahL2 · 01/07/2009 13:16

It wasn't fun that's for sure. If I weren't so desperate to gave DS a sibling (I am one of 4 and cannot imagine being an only child) I don't think I would have done this again. This will be our last baby though.

Same hospital unfortuneately. It's about 5 minutes from our house and the next closest would be about 30-40 minutes. I am going to be a complete b*tch this time though - there is no way anyone is doing anything to me that I don't want this time!!

Tried the exercises last time I went to the loo - to make sure I was getting the right muscles - and will try to remember to do them every hour. So tired today though, I'm suprised I have remembered to feed DS!! We did well though, 3 portions of fruit each - cherries, strawberries and bananas - trying to make up for the junk I've been eating to stave off the sickness for the past 14 weeks!!

Sarah - I've been going for it with the fruit and veg too - it is so ironic that in those first literally formative months, all most women I know have wanted to eat is utter rubbish and have gone off salad and fruit! I normally love my veggies but the thought of broccoli was enough to tip me over the edge!

I am totally with you about not being pushed around - I already feel sorry for the medical staff where I'm going because DH and me are going to make sure people listen to us this time!

x

SarahL2 · 01/07/2009 14:47

I was obsessed with fruit when I was expcting DS and ate loads - he is now a complete fruit-a-holic too and can eat massive amounts if allowed.

All this baby is going to want is Dominos!!

OP posts:
Devongirl · 01/07/2009 21:13

Mmmm Dominos. We don't have one near here and I miss them!

SarahL2 · 01/07/2009 21:23

How's everyone coping with the heat? My bump seems to be really hot! I'm finding tops really uncomfortable to wear unless I've pulled them up and tucked them into my bra to uncover my tummy.

I'd love to wear a bikini top but am too worried about what the neighbours would think (our garden is quite overlooked) - silly right!

Bump is quite high but the saggy skin from when DS dropped, along with the extra weight (about half a stone) I carry has meant that it looks much bigger and still droops over my trousers a bit. Plus, it's covered in stretch marks!! Not very pretty and not something I want to display to the world

OP posts:
Baisey · 02/07/2009 18:50

Sarah my bump is the same, quite high with that nice attractive overhang!! The "bebby" (new name for the baby courtesy of DS) is very active now and doesnt stop moving!!
The heat is a nightmare ive been trying to pack for my holiday to Scotland, but dont seem to be getting anywhere, thankfully my mum came round today as its her day off and did loads of ironing for me!!
I have also been walking around (the house) letting it all hang out, I dug my old union jack bikini style top out from when I was a teenager and didnt mind showing skin and have been wearing that lol (most attractive...)

SarahL2 · 02/07/2009 20:43

Thankyou Baisey. I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one without a neat, smooth bump. Feel better now

Still didn't dare break out the bikini today - maybe tomorrow...

Hope you have a lovely time in Scotland. Hopefully, it'll be a bit cooler for you.

OP posts:
anniebigpants · 02/07/2009 22:18

Go on Sarah, get your bikini on tomorrow, dont be ashamed of your stretchmarks, show them with pride, after all they are your 'mummy medals'

1petshortofazoo · 02/07/2009 22:26

went to next today to get some maternity clothes but when I got there I discovered they dont do them in our store any more!!
So i'm now hunting online but every site I go on either dont have any stock or are too expensive....

Any help??

ViktoriaMac · 02/07/2009 23:56

1pet - I'm loving ASOS at the moment.

Had to book in AGAIN today, as I have just moved house and they said it would be more reliable just to do booking in again. Not sure when my 20 week scan will be though, as I'm obviously at the very back of the queue now.

We're forecasted rain tonight, can't bloody wait.

Hope everyone is well.

Baisey · 03/07/2009 08:11

Rain... glorious rain. Might go dancing naked in it...
Its going to be stuck in my head now.

SarahL2 · 03/07/2009 08:15

I was laid in bed this morning listening to it raining with a huge smile on my face. It's still warm but so much fresher now

OP posts:
Baisey · 03/07/2009 09:46

Its great me and DS are going to go out and splash in the puddles.
Who cares that I need to finish packing...
Packing Schmacking.

SarahL2 · 03/07/2009 14:28

Me and DS just had a great time at our local soft play place. They've created this massive garden outside with a huge sandpit with toys and little go-kart things to ride and even boats to sail!!

Got DS all set up with a little lifejacket and went round and round the little pool thing - he thought it was great!

What a difference a bit of rain makes! Yesterday it was so hot I felt sick just being outside for a few minutes!! So good to have some fun with him for a change

OP posts:
BlueChampagne · 03/07/2009 20:40

Onepetshort - have you looked on ebay?

DC2 due here 10th December

Milliemuffin · 04/07/2009 11:46

Has anyone else (around 15wks) not put on any weight in the last month or so? I haven't had any morning sickness and I'm eating loads but I was 8st 9 in the middle of may and I'm still exactly 8st 9, surely I should have put some weight on??

anniebigpants · 04/07/2009 16:40

I havent put much weight on either and coming up 19 weeks. I was overweight to start with so im certainly not complaining though! Have put on 4lb so far.

SarahL2 · 04/07/2009 17:13

I've put on 4lbs since I feel pregnant. Quite pleased with that - I put on about 3 stone with DS!!!

Have also found the Holy Grail!!

A pair of dark blue, short leg (I'm 5'1"), bootcut, maternity jeans which do not have one of those stupid, elasticated jersey bands round the top which make me too hot and create an indent round my tummy where they dig into the , softer flesh Not to mention not having that stupid button on the elastic which digs in and hurts.

These ones are low rise and have elasticated panels in the front pockets to make way for my bump. Best of all - they were £22!!! I'm not even going to have to take them up which is unheard of for me with jeans!

Sooo pleased

From Next.
