Wow! how much does NJ's DS3 look like her (going by her profile pic!!)

Sorry not done full catch up just sneaked look at pics.

Anyone else on bloody hot warm night shift?

Kayzr · 02/07/2009 07:12

Morning,

GYo, I totally agree!! He really looks like NJ! I was awake at 3 too. I should have come to say hi!!

IDOB, The boat on the river sounds lovely!! I couldn't do anything like that as DH can't swim and I would be scared of him falling in.

It is too bloody hot here!! Need to clean out the rabbit today. I don't know how she copes in this heat!!

Hope you are all well.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 02/07/2009 07:59

Lol at you all saying DS3 looks like NJ, that's exactly what I said about both DS2 & 3 and NJ was surprised, couldn't see it but says she can see their dad in them really strongly!!!

Aren't his blue eyes beautiful!

Right, ridiculous Father Christmas story before I get distracted:

DS was pulling all the books off the shelf rearranging his bedroom when he came across a book that has a puzzle inside it on each page, the story is 'the ugly duckling'. He said he wanted to do the puzzles so we abandoned the mess and went downstairs. We sat down together and he very patiently went through them all, putting them back together - he loves puzzles. When we got to the end of the book, he turned it over to look at the back, on the back, they have those 'adverts' for more books in the series... the stories were pinocchio, seven dwarfs and another one (can't remember). The conversation then goes like this:

DS - I want this one, and this one and this one
Me - Really, well you'll have to be a good boy
DS - I'm good, I want these
Me - Well, we can't get them right now, perhaps we'll have to ask Father Christmas
DS - OK, Father Christmas

there's a brief interlude whilst DS goes to get his mobile phone

Kayzr · 02/07/2009 08:00

STT, that is so funny and very cute!

Diege · 02/07/2009 08:43

Morning! Struggled to get on yesterday, just one of those days! We're all suffering in the heat - dds awake till well past 10, and dd1's hayfever really bad. Think I'll have to take her to gps as over the counter stuff doesn;t seem to be working. Only tried piriton though - is there anything stronger SES?
Jacob seems to be sleeping all the time at the moment (days that is) - presume it's because of the heat? Anyone else's baby extrsa sleepy at the moment? Don't know why I'm complaining! Off to get birth registered this morning, and to get some warm weather 0-3 months things. Sorry for not mentioning anyone - will scroll back down now and tryn and catch up x

juleshatesalltheheat · 02/07/2009 08:55

moosy - glad appmnt went well shame abnout low bp mine is low has been for a while i guess better than high bp

kay - depends how broody u feel!!
when deciding to try for bracken was going to wait felt so broody wanted a baby now so started trying.

i am hating the heat will be glad when it has cooled down and it is horrid for the kids 2

beanie - good luck with cake boat sounds like a good ide and champagne

lol @ father xmas gr8

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 02/07/2009 08:56

Morning!

STT - that's a great story

Diege - nothing as such stronger than piriton but different people find different antihistamines work better for them. You could try Clarityn or Zirtek solution but no guarantee. Other options would be to talk to GP about adding in eye drops as well if her eyes are bad. My final tip is to put vaseline on the end of her nose to catch the pollen before it enters her nose. HTH.

juleshatesalltheheat · 02/07/2009 09:03

hi diege x-posts

sorry to hear they are suffering

idreamofbeanie · 02/07/2009 09:19

STT - that Father Xmas story is very funny. Your DS sounds adorable. Lovely pic by the way.

Diege - sorry you are all suffering in the heat. I'd quite like to curl up and sleep all day too - just not a hot weather person.

Morning Jules, Kayz and Ses.

Well my cake looks pretty good - just need to add a ganache topping today before setting off. I'm ridiculously proud of myself . Hope he likes it!

bumpsnowjustplump · 02/07/2009 09:38

Well today has been a joke so far and it is only half nine .

Still no insurance certificate so dp has taken my car again. We have no food in the house so I asked him to unload the car seats so that I can go shopping once the certificate comes.

Guess what no car seats also no P&T which is in the boot... DP has also just called and my car has broken down!!! So Jessica and I have made cakes for breakfast (cherry and coconut muffins) and going to have rice and olives for lunch (sounds nice doesn't it.... not)!! If the car doesnt get sorted by the AA then dp is stuck over 50 miles away with no train route home, and I still cant go shopping as I have no car seats, buggy or car..... I will have to take kids on bus to get tax later so will have to put ds in sling and hope dd behaves herself holding my hand.... gulp!!!!!

Nice to have cakes for breakfast though he he he... Really hope car is ok because we can afford a new one

Sparklytwinkletoes · 02/07/2009 09:39

IDOB - very impressed at your early morning cake baking, ganache topping sounds delicious!

DH got the chocolate bar out of the cupboard last night, I don't like it cold from the fridge, but its melted so much, you couldn't snap it off, you had to bend and stretch to get the chunks to break! (Cadburys dairy milk)

Diege - I'm extra sleepy in this heat, does that help? . Feel sorry for your DD with hayfever, I'm suffering too. My pharmacist said "vaseline on end of nose, shut windows and doors, stay inside" - i just looked at him! He laughed and said he was sorry, that there was a herbal (homeopathic) remedy I could try in pregnancy and he's ordered it in for me, I just need to go back and pick it up at some point. New Era, New Age, something like that...

DS is very lovely at the moment, I just can't get over how much his language has come along in the last three months or so, from two / three word sentences to full on conversations. He tells stories to... probably helped a little by me asking him every day what he's been doing, and asking leading questions to give him ideas of what to talk about... but even still.

He certainly has his moments though, normally when he's hungry or tired so not unreasonable really.

This morning, he said, "I go to nursery, mummy watch telly, then mummy come get me".

[Hmm] seems DH has been telling DS stories! I did say, "well, mummy has got some jobs to do first, but yes, I'll come and get you soon"

Had a bit of a chat about the row with DH, he finds it very hard to sorry or admit he's wrong, but did manage to put it down to the heat and tiredness. Probably some truth in that.

bumpsnowjustplump · 02/07/2009 09:42

can not afford it

Sparklytwinkletoes · 02/07/2009 09:42

Oh bumpy, sorry, x-posted there, that sounds like a bit of a pants start to the day...but cherry and coconut muffins for breakfast sound great!

about car and your pesky DP for forgetting to take the seats out and disappearing with the buggy!

Maybe you can bribe DD to walk nicely in return for a treat when you get back home, if she's good? If I lived near you (which I don't think I do) I'd come get you and take you shopping!

Hope your car is OK too, perhaps its just the heat?

lastboxoftampons · 02/07/2009 10:34

Bump Sounds like a crap day. Hopefully you can stay inside and stay cool with the DCs today. I'm sure your DH will manage to get the car sorted. AA are usually pretty good, arent' they?

Impressed with all the baking taht's going on around here! I love to bake, but not sure I could manage in this heat! I keep meaning to start cooking to freeze meals for after the birth, but I can't even manage to cook dinner every night (DH had to do to it last night!)

STT - what a lovely story, your DS sounds adorable!!! Hopefully you've now got a reason for him to behave for the next 6 months!

Sorky - thanks so much about panting motion. Interesting that it's linked to neurological development!

IDOB - cake sounds impressive and with champagne, MMMMMMMM! I'm sure your DH will love it! And the boat ride sounds fab - definitely a good thing to do before the baby arrives! Enjoy!

Kay, I think STT sounds like she knows what she's talking about!

So I checked my email this morning only to find that my friend who is due 3 days AFTER me, had her baby yesterday! Alright breathe, no panicking here!

lastboxoftampons · 02/07/2009 10:36

Oops, wanted to say hi GYO, Tink, Ses, and everyone else

idreamofbeanie · 02/07/2009 10:58

Hi LBOT, deep breaths! I'm sure you have loads of time yet, honest . I did my baking late last night once it was cool so I wouldn't overheat and I'm so lazy I've already told mum (who is a cook) and dad (who is a chef) that the best pregnancy/birth present they could give me is a freezer full of meals I can just reheat . Bless them, as they can throw a meal together in 5 mins without thinking about it they can't see why it's a great gift but they've promised to make lots of delicious food for me .

Bump - what a rubbish morning! Hope the AA manage to get it moving then you can send DH to do the shopping on his way home. Although if he is anything like my DP you'll be lucky to get more than bread, beer and chocolate!

lastboxoftampons · 02/07/2009 11:31

IDOB LOL about your parents. What a great gift! and it's their JOB! My parents will be visiting for two and half weeks just after my due date and my mother already told me she'd cook for me!

Diege · 02/07/2009 11:31

Thanks for hayfever adivice SES - think I'll see what the GP says, as she's really suffering and having to miss activities because of it.
Agree LBOT, I am also in awe of all this hime baking! LB, you mean you made cakes from scratch at such short notice??
Back from registering Jacob's birth, always something I enjoy doing. We're off out for lunch now, and then need to pick up bits and bobs from the village. Would rather stay in in the heat - really hoping it gets cooler tomorrow as have dd2's sports day/school fair. A nightmare combo at the best of times, and I'll also be there on my own with all 4!! Eek!!

Kayzr · 02/07/2009 11:36

IT IS TOO HOT!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!

juleshatesalltheheat · 02/07/2009 12:47

x

Diege · 02/07/2009 14:08

BROWNIE!!! Will e-mail you on FB - good to hear from you
KAYZ, agree, this is the hottest day by far! Dare I do a rain dance??
TINKS, yes I use pampers, have always found them the most reliable disposables.
Right, his majesty has deemed me worthy of waking up and is demanding a feed..have noticed that my breast milk has gone really watery at the moment - any ideas?- hope it's not dwindling again.
LB, had missed your earlier post - what a nightmare Hope you get things resolved asap xx

juleshatesalltheheat · 02/07/2009 14:25

hi

diege - not sure about bm

which pampers do you use?

yes get on with that rain dance!!

NatalieJane · 02/07/2009 14:30

Hello

All this baking? Have none of you realised that it is hot? Must be bloody mad, tesco shop last night consisted of cold food we can eat cold with the least amount of prep possible! Am refusing to put the oven on until it's not as hot on the outside of the oven as it is on the inside!

Diege, BM always thins down when your bady is hotter than usual, it's something to do with it being more watery therefore more refreshing for the baby. Very clever stuff your boobs hey?!!

STT, I can't see the pic, where did you put it? MN profile says you don't have a MN profile, and I think I looked in the right place on FB but still can't see it! Your DS is just gorgeous, I can imagine him sitting there with you while you rang FC

DH said it reached 32 degrees yesterday and today is deffo hotter.

Have had two valuations, at exactly the same price so I guess we have our asking price sorted! Actually, we won't be exactly rolling in it if it sells for, or near, to the asking price, but it's better than I thought!

Am absolutely sweltering, I like it hot, but this is getting a bit OTT now, am just in a puddle the whole time, and it's not my lacking pelvic floor causing it!

Have just had the most frustrating fucking phone call I think I've ever had, this bloody company keeps ringing us about trying to get us a loan - a loan we've never asked for, always on different numbers so can't just block the number, 4 times they've rang today, so I ask to speak to the callers supervisor, spend 10 minutes arguing with him over whether I need to speak to a supervisor or not, then he eventually agree's to put me through to a supervisor, then the cock head put's the fucking phone down on me, so sorry for vile language but if they ring again today I think I will be saying it to them. Am so cross I'm shaking, and I can't even ring DH and moan at him about it because he's on a two man job grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
