Ses, that place is fab!! There is now a chinese supermarket in York too.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 23/06/2009 19:28

It is one of my favourite places to go in York! They give really good service and I love watching them make up the packs.
I also love Cafe Concerto by the Minster although it is quite expensive and there's often a queue.

DS has gone in his bouncy chair again!! Another 10 mins so far...! He seems engrossed by the tennis. He's properly found his fist as well and keeps trying to shove it in his mouth.

sorky · 24/06/2009 03:23

I'm up. She's just fed both sides for the first the night so I'm hoping she will go longer than 2 hours. On the plus side, she has just slept from 8pm until 3am which is bloody fantastic!!
Off to do a catchup and get a glass of water, this heat is awful.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 24/06/2009 03:32

Hi Sorky! I'm up feeding too.
Hope she sleeps just as well for you for the rest of the night.
I'm sitting here sucking throat sweets - bloody hayfever!

sorky · 24/06/2009 03:47

Morning Ses
how lovely the curry sounds, I had madras for tea, my first curry since I fell pg, it was scrummy.

I'm sneezing and snuffling here, can I use piriton?

GYo · 24/06/2009 04:13

Hello
you guys still there? DD had mega sleepathon and only just got me up....

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 24/06/2009 07:07

Sorky - a definite no to Piriton whilst BFing I'm afraid. I'm going to get myself some loratadine (Clarityn) and a beconase nasal spray later. I'm sitting here with some hot ribena at the moment to help my throat!

GYo - yay for mega sleepathon!

Diege · 24/06/2009 09:04

Wow, all those night posts! . I was with you all in spirit as, having lulled us into a false sense of security by only waking once in night for past 3 nights, he was awake crying midnight till 4ish. Brought up a feed too (had forgotten how scary that is in middle of night!)maybe (or maybe not) conected to dd2's sickness thing . In the end I tucked him in bed next to me - every time I opened my eyes he's be staring at me and stroking my face - really lovely had it not been 4am . Funny that despite GA section etc and not seeing him born, feel I have bonded far quicker with J than the others; maybe because he's my last?
Have been signed off my mw now; J has put an ounce on, so they're happy!
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine, despite the pollen count.

sorky · 24/06/2009 09:41

she went back to sleep in the crib from 4-7am without any more feeding

I need to go get her up in a second.

We're reading the HP books, when we find the first one, today. Just too hot to be running about.

Kayzr · 24/06/2009 10:04

Morning,

Sorky, glad you had a good night!

GYo, You too!! I hope it long continues!!

I am bloody exhausted. I have no idea why as I slept all night and got over 8 hours. Might go back to GP about it.

Hope you are all well.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 24/06/2009 10:23

YAY! Owen has just been weighed and has gained 7oz in the 6 days since his last weigh in and is back to his birth weight of 8lb 9oz

Sorky - good going with the sleeping DD2. HP books? Is that Harry Potter?

Kay - I sometimes find I feel more tired if my sleep is too short or longer than usual - can't win. If the tiredness is persistent though or getting you down, definitely go back to GP.

Kayzr · 24/06/2009 10:25

Yay Ses, that is brilliant!!

I am like this everyday and have been for about 3 months. But when I saw the GP before she just laughed and told me that it was normal when you have a baby. Even though he sleeps all night.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 24/06/2009 10:29

I'd go back and try and see a different Dr if I were you then. I don't "get" our official "family GP" and so have started seeing one of the others.

GYo · 24/06/2009 10:37

Hurray Ses

So glad things have turned around. Will you carry on getting him weighed regularly now?

Morning Kay- agree with Ses, see another doc. Could you still be anaemic (if I am right in remembering you were after the birth?)

DD having nap in cot for 3rd day running

So pleased, seems to be all about getting up there early enough before she is so tired she fights it.

julesisindahouse · 24/06/2009 10:51

morning

glad people got more sleep

ses - great news

kay - would definetly see a different dr

have just been to music with mummy with bracken it was good

dd1 is @ nursery till 3pm

getting bracken weighed @ 2pm

hasnt been weighed for 3 weeks

cant believe she is in 6- 9 month clothes now. dd1 was in 6-9 month clothes @ 15 months!! bracken is much chubbier and chunky

Moosy · 24/06/2009 11:08

Ooooh don't you just love the smell of Febreeze in the morning?! DD2 is doing better today, she woke me up this calling me to help her - she'd done a poo in the potty in the bedroom! Since then she's done 3 wees in the potty, 1 on the floor right by the toilet, just didn't quite get there on time, and one poo on the carpet Still I feel like we're winning though, and she's still keen

Sorky, I bow down humbly to your superior knowledge, DD1 hates the minki yoyo I got for her and doesn't get on with it at all, so I'm ordering a pair of ME bedwetter pants for her.

Glad people had better sleeps last night, Kayz I often feel worse when I have a good night's sleep after several bad ones, I think it's called sleep debt or something, perhaps it'll just take a few days to catch up?

Well done to your DS Ses, that's some serious weight gain

Diege, that sounds lovely and snuggly (shame about the sickness, hope it was a one off), I can't wait to have a tiny little baby again! Although DD2 is incredibly squeezable!

Moosy · 24/06/2009 11:15

LBOT, I've added a photo of the imp to the FB wagon!

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 24/06/2009 11:15

HV coming back in a week to weigh him again. Sure it's no needed but I got the feeling she was going to continue untilhis 8 week check. I don't really care now tbh as I'm not so worried.

Jules - music with mummy sounds good

GYo - v good with cot sleeping! HV suggested we try DS in his cot as he just won't settle in his moses basket. As soon as he has a stretch, he wakes himself up. Despite his weight issues he is a v long baby and doesn't have a lot of room.

I've just had some flowers and chocolates delivered They are from DH for our anniversary

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 24/06/2009 11:17

Hi Moos! Definitely sounds like a good morning with potty training

Starshinetiger · 24/06/2009 11:38

Moos, yay for potty training - sounds like great going for DD2
Ses - how lovely of your DH , sounds like with your curry too, you will have a lovely day the two of you!
Sorky - yay for good sleep
Kayz - sorry for feeling so tired, would go back to GP too.
Diege - sorry for night waking, but does sound so gorgeous with J!
GYO - yay for good sleep and naps in cot (I have yet to get DD to sleep without bfing to sleep - currently reading "The No Cry Sleep Solution"!!)

Well, DD had her second lot of jabs yesterday, then had good afternoon sleep in her car seat, then would not go to bed until she finally fed to sleep at 9.45pm, but then woke me at 1pm (unfortunately wet, so had to be all changed) went back after feed, woke me at 5.45, then after feeding and lengthy winding and more feeding, went back at 6.55am - woke at 10.10am this morning !!! Unheard of, but she is absolutely beaming this morning bless her! Quite glad we have a quiet easy day today to reward her! After pre-admission clinic on Mon where we had to trug into London and she had to be scanned (she hates it ) and then jabs yesterday, she's probably wondering what's going on.

BTW, have started a thread for suggestions on how to get her to take a bottle - despite taking 1oz last week, she has resolutely refused since - if anyone has any tips!
here
Hope you're all having sunny days!

lastboxoftampons · 24/06/2009 11:38

Ses, amazing on Owen's weight gain! Well done!!! But about the HV - what does she think you're putting weights in his nappy!?!??! And how lovely of your DH! Have a wonderful anniversary!!!

Aw, Moos, how ADORABLE is your DD??? She's just as I pictured her! And that's definitely a photo to keep for blackmail

RE: my going out on ML earlier than I intended...I'm not sure what to do. I was told last night that the person they hired as my mat cover has bailed on us We were supposed to have a few days of handover next week and the one after, but I don't think they'll get someone in on time now. I feel better today, so I'm going to try to perservere and maybe if I'm really not feeling well try to work from home a bit. I've got my MW appointment tomorrow at 12:30, so working from home in the morning and will come in after, which my boss was fine about.

Glad for the good sleeps last night! I wonder what it is? Something in the air? I think last night was the first night I really disturbed DH by tossing and turning Funny how you seem to hit a wall in PG and it all starts falling apart!

Diege - so happy to hear that you're bonding so well with J, especially after all you've been through. How lovely to wake up to see his little face

Hi Sorky, Kay, Tink, GYO

sorky · 24/06/2009 13:07

Oi Diege! Dd2 had a gf stylee morning nap AND went down IN HER COT!!!!! at 12.30pm

Star we are using the Elizabeth Pantley book too, with some success after a week, so do perservere with it.
She will now go to sleep on her own, in the cot without a quick suckle during the day, but still likes to go to sleep attached on a night.
Last night though (day7) she fed and went to sleep in her little rocky-chair thingy at 8pm and transferred to her crib at 11pm without waking for a feed so I let her go without and she woke at 3am. I fed her, burped her and gave some of the other side before putting her back in the crib kinda half asleep. It's def progress from being firmly attached like a limpet for most of the day and night and only going to sleep attached to the boob.

Wish I had advice on the bottle front, but I don't, in fact we face the same problem here, which is why we are using the NCSSolution. Got a month or so to crack it for when I go back to work

Moos, ME bedwetters are very good, but very bulky, but she won't leak! Well done Impy-moos on the potty training. We're slowly moving towards no nappy on when we're out!

Ses that's fantastic news about Owen. Bet you're glad you didn't give in now . How lovely of Dh!
Mine sent me some underwear on Saturday morning from Myla it's beautiful and he picked it himself , but more shocking than that (because he never buys me anything as a surprise), he bought it for NO REASON

LBOT, I would go off earlier than planned, take it easy

Hello everyone else

GruffaloSoldier · 24/06/2009 14:08

Hello all!

Another gorgeous day!I cant't help but be when the sun is out!

My birthday tomorrow too so very excited as always. Its also means tomorrow is 6 months since last Christmas and 6 months to go til the next one always used to be soemthing I thought about as a kid!(best day to have a birthday too ;) )

DH has been out this morning birthday shopping and even more of a result was that he took GC with him so I have potted about at home on my own and it was lovely

Ses - congrats on DS's weight gain - and well done!!!!

Diege - your description of DS in bed with you made me go all gooey inside reminds me of how much I love snuggling up to GC in the early hours. Magic!

Funny that you guys are talking about 'sleep' as I got two books out the library yesterday about it. A practical parenting on and NCT. The former talks about 5 different methods that can be used. I am using the reassurance method apparently its ok so far

Kayz - sorry to hear you are still suffering. I would def get a second opinion. A couple of years ago I was getting migraines everyday and the Drs did not take me seriously. Eventually I found 1 that did and he tried everything but couldn't really get to the problem. Eventually I went private (BUPA) and it sorted me out but just keep trying - eventually someone will listen.

Star/Sorky - not sure about bottle - what bottles are you using, have you experimented with teats?

Jules - glad you enjoyed your outing with Bracken

Gyo - was lovely to see you and SG yestrday.Glad napping is going well!

Moosy - little Imp pic is very cute!

julesisindahouse · 24/06/2009 14:37
