diege - glad u r feeling better
glas - great news
kayz - oh dear

sorky · 20/06/2009 15:56

glad your wrist has healed kayz, shame about the dress.

Diege I would love to wish you a non-sleepy baby, but I can't bring myself to do it. So I'm wishing the next best thing, may your Ds only sleep in a sling and you co-sleep until he's 13! hehehe x
I know what you mean about not crying in front of HV, I felt unable to do it with ds1, somehow felt as if I'd officially failed.

bumpsnowjustplump · 20/06/2009 20:57

Evening all. Been a funny day here. On the plus side DD has been dry for two days and one night... No accidents at all... i am so proud of her...

On the down side she is ill and so is ds. not really bad but her rash has got worse and she says it is really itchy. i took her to boots today to check it wasn't CP (I wouldn't have a clue what it looks like) and they confirmed it isn't but gave us some cream for it..

DS has only taken one feed all day and another this evening. He has a slight temp but in general is very happy so I dont know what to make of it. I guess we will see how they both are tomorrow and go from there.

I had to go to bed early last night because I felt really ill. I though I had flu, I ached all over and had a really high temp.. I woke up this morning and my right boob was bright red and hot and hurt like hell.... I have been massaging it all day and fed ds from it both times he fed... I feel better tonight but boob is still very painful....

Hope you are all well.. Sorky shame on you wishing that on diege...

sorky · 20/06/2009 21:21

hehe
Bumpy sounds like a blocked duct, do you know how to shift it?
Are you about to chat? Gotta go and do a scrabble catchup.
Must be something lurking about as Ds2 n dd2 are both hot n snuffly n miserable last night and today.

bumpsnowjustplump · 20/06/2009 21:27

Im always free for a chat... DP is on the ps3 so I will see you over on fb...

Diege · 20/06/2009 21:47

Tee hee nice try SORKY As nice as the 'attachment parenting' was for an hour or two, my bleedin' arm was aching waking for him to wake up . Sling is actually v.good though (exchanged for size 2 and now of course thinking I should have gone for smaller as his weight causes it to dip down quite a bit!).
LB, boob sounds painful! Hopefully continued feeding will take care of things; last thing you need at the moment though xx
Feeling ok - nothing like screaming kids to make distract from worries! Ventured out today for first time since the birth to a school fete, but wasn't really ready for the walk. Scar and muscles really sore - anyone know from experience how long it'll take to feel 'normal' again?
Right, heading up soon. Speak tomorrow!

bumpsnowjustplump · 20/06/2009 21:53

Diege take it easy women, put your feet up!!

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 21/06/2009 03:59

Had a really good day yesterday. DS was back to being really settled with 2-3 hr sleep at 1pm, 5pm & 9pm.
Meal for my brother's 30th was lovely even though DH was behaving like a mischevious little boy most of the time trying to wind my mum up. A highlight though was my dad (who has a history of self esteem issues and allowing my mum to control him) asked to hold DS. It was a lovely moment and I was v pleased DS didn't start crying.
My brother did express amazement at my maternity package (minimum there is allowable by law) and that tax payers are providing for me for 9 months. He made me feel a bit like I was being a scrounger from the state. I wonder if he'll think any differently in a few years when he's a new dad (we're expecting an engagement announcement by Christmas).

Talking of which, I have a really good friend who moved over here from America about 6yrs ago and moved to Canada 2yrs ago. Her boyfriend gave up his job and rented out his flat to move out there to be with her a year ago and they've just got engaged. Even more exciting is that they're going to get married when they are over here visiting at the end of August. All a bit mad as they fly in on 24th and get married on 28th!! I think I'm going to be helping with a bit of organisation... All v exciting anyway

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 21/06/2009 04:11

Bumpy - sorry for sick DCs and sore boob. Does sound like an inflamed duct and the massaging should continue to help.

Diege - do take it easy. I (already) can't remember how quickly I felt able to do stuff. I know our first outing was to Tesco on the Wednesday after DS was born on the Sat but I remember feeling exhausted as a result. I think what helped me was a few short walks each day and not staying still too long but at the same time not over doing things and not lifting too much - as a guide I was told nothing heavier than DS. 6 weeks later, I barely notice I've had a CS but it has been gradual.
LOL at Nadal being on paternity leave!!

Glask - Phew!

Right, sorry if I've missed anything but DS is asleep again so i'm sure I should be too!

Kayzr · 21/06/2009 07:41

Morning all, sorry I haven't been on for ages it's been a busy few days! The wedding on Thursday was lovely and the food was even better! I had a great big steak, and it was easily the biggest meal I've had in months, delish! We're back home again now too, it's so nice to be back in our bed again, my back's been really painful for a couple of days so I'm hoping a few more nights in a comfy bed will fix it.

Diege, take it easy! Aren't you supposed to be resting properly for a week or two after a CS? How's the feeding going now?

Bump, sorry for poorly LOs but well done to DD! Impressed that she's done a dry night too, DD1 still hasn't mastered that and she's 3.9! Hope the boob clears itself soon.

Ses, glad DS is settling down again, long may it last.

Glask - phew!

Kayzr · 21/06/2009 12:05

i have the perfect cure!! Watch Mamma Mia!!! Colin Firth and Pierce Bronsen are just gorgeous!!!!

Diege · 21/06/2009 12:11

Morning! Hard going here, but we're getting through. Jacob asleep and dds getting over the fact that the tv has just been switched off
Did I catch that you were having a naming cereminy for Brackedn today TINKS?? If so, hope it goes well!
SES, sounds exciting about your forthcoming visitors. at your brother's comments about tax payers - I mean you are one yourself! Always gets me cross that one - even if people aren't earning a wage to contribute, they're providing future labour etc (does sound a bit 'soviet').
MOOS, good to hear from you and hope you get some relief from bad back.
Morning GYO, KAYZ - crisps and real coke sound good, hangover or not!

NatalieJane · 21/06/2009 13:09

Helloooooooooooo

Tink, good luck for today, hope it goes well

Diege, you still need to be taking it easy woman! Have never had a CS (or any op. for that matter) but bearing in mind that your insides were on the outside a few days ago, it all needs time to heal all the way through before you do anything more than sitting, feeding, watching the tennis and the odd short walk when the weather's up to it!

Kayz, deffo go with the coke, and it helps if you're not too drunk to remember to drink a load of it before bed, it stops that 'bottom of a bird cage' feeling in your mouth when you wake up.

Well, Friday night went well, Saturday morning not so well!! Nah, it was OK, I don't usually suffer with a hang over as such, just a bit dazed and out of it (what's new?!!) and I get grumpily tired! We put the deposit down on a car, I've spent all weekend doing the boys room, DH is taking a load more boxes to the storage place now, I am supposed to be starting on our room, but I needed a break. Have been going constantly since 8 o'clock this morning, Friend is on hols, so I am nipping in to feed her cat and dog, so I was there at 8, and as soon as I got back I was back in their room, it is very nearly done now though, all the shit toys and what nots are boxed up, just a few little things still hanging about.

I am going to go and do our room, I think once our room is done then that's pretty much as far as we can go until we start the packing for the move. So then it's the big clean..... just gets better and better

STT, when you get back, give me ideas for lunch please, everything I think of has shell fish in Never realised how much fish we actually eat! It will depend on the weather I suppose, but I could do a chicken salad or something? Or I've got a chicken and beach smoked bacon pasta bake? Picnic for the boys? Help please!!

Diege · 21/06/2009 15:15

Hello NAT! Wow, sounds like you have a plan there, and are putting it into action! The thought of getting up and out for 8am to see to someone's pets sounds draining enough to me!
Trying to rest up here. Got a bit upset with dh before as he and his mum schemed arranged for her to come round but hadn't asked me about it (what a lovely surprise! ). After a few tears dh cancelled, but I don't think he 'gets it' - ie, that I just need a bit of space and that one person's 'help' feels like unwarranted interference (rightly or wrongly) at this point in time! Still feel a bit guilty but hey better this than the alternative!
Hope everyone is well - will try to get a nap now I think xx

bumpsnowjustplump · 21/06/2009 21:25

DD has now done three days and two nights with no accidents. Do you think we have cracked it???? I am so proud of her...

Diege MIL arriving is enough to make anyone cry... Glad dh cancelled it, funny enough dp always suggests getting his mum over to help when I have a bad day!!

Ses glad that ds is more settled and sounds like the wedding plans will be good for you.....

Just eaten dairy free chocolate cake and it was yummy but feel really sick now!!!

bumpsnowjustplump · 22/06/2009 07:29

crap night here. DS has been up all night. I dont knw what is wrong with him. He is not sleeping during the day!!!! He is also not feeding well and being really sick again. I havejust given him a small bit of calpol because he has a bit of a temp!!! I think he is teething!!!! I really need sleep!!!!

NatalieJane · 22/06/2009 08:41

Awww LB, not much fun at the moment for you is it? I don't really have any advice, will wait for the others to give you their pearls of wisdom, but carry on venting here, it's always better to get it out, rather than bottling it up.

Diege, agree, MIL's just don't cut it, especially when caught on the hop. Hope you managed some sleep last night.

Am about to see DS1 off to school, go down and feed the cat and dog, come back, and start the big clean. We've managed to get everything packed up, car is full of bin bags (and it's not a little car - Zafira, seats down, and it's jam packed!) ready to be dropped off at the tip tonight, there are a few boxes still hanging around to go to the storage, but we just ran out of time yesterday to take them over to the storage place. But, now the fun starts! Polish at the ready, duster in the other hand, window cleaner hanging off my belt, window cloth over my shoulder, hoover is awaiting, should be done upstairs by the end of today.... and then I get to do it all again tomorrow downstairs, wonderful (Am secretly looking forward to it, you know when you get in the mood? DH says my in the mood is slightly mis-placed, but hey, if he thinks I'm going to let him make a mess of my lovely will be freshly washed bedding, he's another thing erm.... coming - no pun intended! )

If I am back before lunch, kick me up the bum please xxx

GYo · 22/06/2009 09:24

but it's your birthday Nat!!! you cant clean

Hello everyone
Hope you all had lovely weekends.

Diege - glad to hear you're feeling better. PMSL over Nadal's paternity leave! Also LOL about your GF baby. I'm going to hide behind you when Sorky comes after me!

Ses - how lovely about your dad asking to hold DS - is Owen his first GC?

Bump - well done to your DD! But so sorry about your DS I really don't know what to suggest. Is he being sick again? Hoping it gets better for you.

Very of your hangovers, Kay and Nat Well, maybe not so much of the hangover, but the bit before

Glask - v. happy for your - result! Remember when we all would've said just the opposite!?!?

Hi GYO, Moosy, IDOB, STT, Sorky, Tink etc!

Hope all your DPs had a lovely father's day! Gave mine a card from the baby and I think he was really touched. We have our fourth NCT class tonight! Can't believe we're half way through!!!! Started going through baby clothes last night to decide what I needed to wash beforehand and for some reason I'm really hesitating! I don't know why, I should just get on with it. But I guess the thought of having all this stuff ready for an actual baby is slightly daunting! My parents have booked their flights to come visit as well. OMG, I'm going to have a baby in a month!
