Hello all! Thought I would start this off as our existing thread is full!

OP posts:

Mowmi many congrats, hope everyone elses' tests go well too.

jardin after periods of feeling sick and dry retching I often had the runs. I thought my body assumed I must have a bug to get rid of and that it had to push it out one way or the other (sorry if TMI). Like Biccy things have calmed down recently for me. I have periods where I feel so normal I forget I'm pregnant.

I'm thinking it must be a boy, as at this stage with DD I was starting acupuncture and had been on pills for weeks after constant sickness.

lilacpink · 15/07/2009 21:51

Biccy very good - ha ha ha - that woman has never had a baby! What bad advertising. I struggled to even brush my hair after having DD, let alone think of styling it.

sunshinejanuary · 15/07/2009 22:17

So glad to hear your news Mowmi

maygirl · 15/07/2009 22:31

Glad all ok Mowmi.

I'm twelve weeks now and have dating scan Friday.

Bra-wise, smaller ladies, M+S t-shirt bras come in non-wired option with slight padding, and have nice slim straps. Not v pretty though. I'm not uncomfortable this time so still wearing wired, making sure they fit well. Last pregnancy was in sports bras by 5 weeks as really sore and they didn't do maternity bras in my small size ! Boobs must know they can function this time and not changing too much!

Going to treat myself to HOTMilk bra when DC arrives and I have a decent cleavage!

Good luck to others still to have scans, the end of Jan EDD mums!

Mowmi I am so pleased. Hope you can relax now!

DS1 thinks I should call this one "Flame King" I'm thinking I may not consult him in the future. LOL

My boobs have not changed at all as far as I can tell. Although before I had DS1 I was a 34B, and after the 2 boys I'm now 34DD so maybe I've done all the growing I'm going to.

On the subject of bras and bewbies - don't want to scare anyone - but I went to a 32JJ after my second, having BF and they refused to go back down. They looked pretty weird on a 9st frame so I ended up under the knife and had a breast reduction 3 years ago. Best thing I ever did.... and of course thought I'd finished my childbearing. It was my biggest fear this time - growing huge again. Thankfully thus far have only increased across the back and marginally in the cup. They stopped being sore around 8-9 weeks and now just feel like they are getting heavier.

As for the rest of pg symptoms - I think I've had everything that's going so far. I had my first scan at 7 weeks because we seriously thought I might be carrying multiples - or further on. So - nausea and complete and utter exhaustion continues (now at 15 weeks and due 7/1/09) and can only be described as a permanent hangover plus flu type virus ie you just feel wretched and groan on the sofa a lot; Spots - humph - I never have spots, now can't get rid of them; Had SPD after birth of 2nd - think that's on its way back again; dry/itchy eyes; of course hayfever that I can take nothing for; cravings for weird stuff and just food in general; plus to top it all, because I feel to awful have turned into an absolute bitch from hell!!!!

I blame the hormones of course but wonder how long it will be before DH decides that "who's the daddy" quote might be a bit misplaced after all.....

Now off out to visit friends and hopefully not throw up in the car today!!

Have a good one all.

sazlocks · 16/07/2009 09:11

great news Mowmi - really pleased for you and hope the other scan is just a formality.

somewhathorrified · 16/07/2009 10:04

Lynne bless, that sounds horrendous. My heart really does go out to you. I've had 1 bout of hormonal outburst, which luckily I recognised within mins and had time to apologise to DH, before I said something too bad. But that shocked the hell out of me.

Does anyone know where you can pick up cheap maternity clothes from (shops not on-line)? I'm reluctant to spend loads of money on clothes I only wear for a couple of months, when I say cheap I'm thinking Primark cheap.

bethoo · 16/07/2009 10:40

great news Mowmi xx

my boobs ahve not changed at all so still in my pretty (?) underwire.

of course i look like that lady blow drying her hair....not. talk about making one feel like shit! andi doubt i will look like that after my third!!!

but i must gloat i am still wearing my size 8 clothes though i am cheating as they are low waisted and big for size .

feelign normal though am still absolutely shattered on an evening!

bethoo · 16/07/2009 10:45

somewhathorrified- i tended to buy clothes like tops tha wree on sale in normal shops that wre a size bigger and did not mind stretching. i still have a lovely top from Warehouse size 10 that i will wear in this pregnatcy. but H&M are reasonable though i accidetnly shoplifted a pair of maternity leggings from there last year! so very cheap but New Look are excellent esp if there is a sale on as i got some lovely jeans for under £20 and also DP sales! i just hit the sales as i too see no point in buying expensive clothes that will only wear a short period, though of course had o known i would have had 2 kids straight after i may have splashed out a bit more!! lol

FlightofFancy · 16/07/2009 13:14

Thanks maygirl for tip off on M&S t-shirt bras - I'm not big in to frills and lace so those sound perfect. Am hitting the shops this weekend to try and make the most of the sales for a few tunic style tops and wrappy cardis. Am OK in bigger size trousers at the moment, though anything fitted is too tight at the waist by mid-afternoon. Buying a size up does give that nice clown effect round the crotch though! Might have to see whether I'm being ridiculous and try on some maternity ones... gulp!

quirkychick · 16/07/2009 13:32

Congratulation mowmi what a relief for you!

Am still being sick in the mornings but the last 2 days I have discovered my appetite, for sausage rolls and pork pies will have to cap that one on the head if I don't want to end up like an elephant!

I am definitely much bigger (2nd pg) but maternity clothes are still too big. I have some bigger stuff from last time and have bought some white stuff sale tunic/kaftans and a boden sale tunic as a treat. I will live in them until I am too big and ready for maternity stuff.

Will have to get some new bras too, last time's maternity bras are either too big or the earlier ones are too small. I can only fit in 1 underwired one still. Will go and browse the seraphine sale. I think mamas&papas have a sale too.

somewhathorrified · 16/07/2009 14:43

bethoo didn't quite mean shoplifting cheap . I think I may need to go to a bigger town to find somethings. I went in local(ish)New look, but they don't sell maternity. Went all over my nearest town and found no maternity stuff at all. I guess a trip to Northampton (20 miles away) is in order, they have all the shops you mentioned.

sunshinejanuary · 16/07/2009 17:36

Evening all,

I haven't gone up a bra size but my nipps are still really painful. I hope they don't get too much bigger, i already can't see my feet!

Quirky Chick - i understand the carvings, weirdly a week or so ago i could not stop thinking about scotch eggs! They are a bit wrong!

sazlocks · 16/07/2009 20:11

Evening all - had our nuchal scan this afternoon and all fine. Risk is about 1 in 7300 ish which is about the only similarity between me and a teenager !
Apart from that the bean had everything it should have had, everything in the right place and I am the proud owner of some lovely pics.
DH, DS and I went out for a slap up italian to celebrate ad I have rather attractively spent the last hour dozing on the sofa !!
hope all well with everyone else.

lilacpink · 16/07/2009 20:34

Congrats Sazlocks, I'm also impressed you were able to eat in an Italian restaurant, but then again that's because black pepper and cream still make me feel queesy (funnily enough cheese is one of my cravings tho!).

Clothing-wise I'm wearing about 50:50, but the 50% non-mat are my bigger size 12-14 clothes. I'm going to be a Bridesmaid in a few weeks, I tried the dress on about 3 weeks ago and had room to undo the zip by quite a way - and top v adjustable and overlaps skirt - (so fingers really tightly crossed and I'll pick it up soon).

After having a bit of bump denial, I really love it now, anyone else enjoying the feel of their bump?

sazlocks · 16/07/2009 20:40

cheers lilac - had a big, fat calzone pizza so not a drop of cream or grind of pepper in sight !
