evening all
blueberry, best of luck for tomorrow, can't wait for more baby news!
june, loving your neighbours I take it there are no other trees within a 10 mile radius that could be causing them problems, surely it can't all be down to your tree?! Tree's been there longer than they have, tell them to get lost Sounds like they are over obssessing to me
effie, sending positive thoughts your way for Rupert and hoping for good news soon
ineed, fingers all still crossed for you and eagerly awaiting news.
tee, got your date for next week thursday, not long now!
I remember that song well, Angelo, thought it was great! Showing my age a little?
You're all going to hate me now but being pregnant seems so long ago now, can't say I'm missing all the aches and pains at all! I'm hoping I've put some pics on my profile, finally took a bump pic myself in case anyone wonders why it's a rubbish pic
Edward is doing really well, 1 week old tomorrow (and waiting for some more friends ), he was weighed yesterday and has only lost 2oz which is pretty good, so it would seem feeding is going ok He also had his heel prick test too, he wasn't quite so impressed with that one! He's been really good, not spending much time awake yet but I'm absolutely loving all the cuddles and all the wonderful faces he pulls. The other kids have been great, really affectionate and protective over him, for now anyway, until he starts pinching their toys
Don't read if sqeamish! The birth started off ok, the doctor broke my waters, not very comfortable as the midwife had to push down on Edwards bum to avoid cord prolapse as he was so far up still. Spent the next hour leaking water like it was going out of fashion [very eeewwww emoticon] as I walked round the room to try to get him moving. Took a couple of hours for the contractions to start but when they did, they came very close together. I used the gas and air and all seemed to be going to plan until about an hour later when I started to get pain across my old cs scar line. Apparently that's ok so long as the pain goes between contractions and isn't more painful than the contraction itself. Unfortunately it didn't stay that way for long and the pain on the scar just got worse and then was just constant at which point all hell broke loose and i don't really remember much from that point on apart from signing a consent form, god knows what I signed, couldn't bear to open my eyes at that stage!
Next thing I remember was waking up in recovery about 21.30 to this big yellow blob circling in front of my face, it was Edward, I just couldn't see straight My scar had ruptured from my previous section (that tiny % has to be someone I suppose!) but they found my bladder had adhered to the back of the scar so that had split too. Some of my bowel and other bits had stuck to the scar too, but thankfully everything else stayed in one piece and was sorted by the surgeon. I also managed to loose an awful lot of blood, just to top that lot off nicely, so my blood count was very low but it didn't drop over the first couple of days so thankfully no blood tranfusion, just loads of iron tablets. And, I got lovely blue wee for the first 2 days, the kids found that hysterical, all good fun! Finally made it out of bed on Saturday afternoon and had the best shower ever, I'd forgotten how much better and more human a shower can make you feel when you've given birth
I'm just glad I was out cold and missed all the fun, it can't have been good for dh to sit through, he must have found it quite traumatic, bless him. When I came round, he'd already told them his name was Edward, a name that wasn't near to the top of his list, but was top of mine, funny though, we're all used to it now, suits him
It's so lovely being home with Edward and being back with dh and the other children. They're all looking after me and giving me time to recover, I'm barely lifting a finger
Better go feed my little man
Hoping for more baby news soon and sending good labour vibes to everyone
waves to all
