hi all

just checking in and can see we are ALL still hanging on! Our little ones must be very cosy in there for none of us to be so early!! I still dont feel like its going to happen any time soon although I'm due NEXT week (2nd)
Is anyone else's baby in posterior postion (back to back) i saw the midwife on firday and mine is which explains the almost constant backache! I've spent most of the weekend on all fours trying to move her but nothing as yet as far as I can tell.

Choccie & MrsMc - sorry to hear you arent getting much help from your dh's (although Choccie sounds like you have made progress!) hope they buck their ideas up really really soon for you both!

Laura - lets hope the football is exciting enough to bring on labour AFTER the game! would be great if it did!

Tee - sorry to hear about the heartburn, its nasty isnt it. wonder if the old wifes tale of your baby having lots of hair will be true? lol about the bloating, dont think we need to worry about that!!

Daisy - hope you are having a much more relaxing day today and getting some much needed rest. I cant believe how tired i feel at the minute, even going up the stairs I need to sit down at the top!!

Ineed - I'm with you on the 'whole not knowing' torture! last time i had a planned csection and it was all over by this point. the thought it could go on for another 3 weeks or could happen at any second is driving me potty! the cramps must be a sign that something is getting ready though surely??!

Bigcar - hope you are feeling better today and not so emotional, damn hormones!!

Ermintrude - shame you couldnt enjoy the cocktails! wont be long now though!
Hi June, littlesarah, bigcar, dreamy and all other June mums.

get lots of rest!!

Naat · 24/05/2009 14:21

Hi Juners!

Quick post, sorry!

Glad to hear choccie and mrsmc that there's been some progress. Fingers crossed it's not a one off, as choccie said

Sorry to hear some of you have suffered the nasty effects of heartburn, tiredness and SPD

Over here, last night was a looooong night. We went to see this friend play and came home at around 12am (tired emoticon) but on top of that mum was flying at the same time and my dad was online a bit worried as he hadn't heard from her, oh my, I managed to get 3hs sleep only.

At the same time (of course, Murphy's law) DH's mum dropped a huge bombshell leaving a msg at home saying she "happens to be coming to Europe on 3rd June" and would love to come (suuuuure, just happened to book a trip to Europe at this time). Out of the blue, knowing that my mum is already here and the history with her is so black I cannot even begin to explain it, ladies. Anyway, as I don't want to die before giving birth, I decided to take the highway and DH and I will tell her she can come for the day (Sat 6th, as she said) but with some clear conditions (not changing plans out of the blue and suddenly staying 10 days, etc). It sounds really harsh but she's a very very very nasty woman who knows no boundaries at all and has no limits when she gets something in her head. It's so sad, as DH's dad and his wife and my parents planned their trips more than 6 months in advance so as not to stress us and not to come at the same time etc and she really thinks doing this is ok. I'm sad and angry but I'm really praying and hoping LO isn't born until the 7th, so as not to have to deal with her right after giving birth.

Anyway... a big nap on its way right now for Naat. My mum arrived this morning and the sun was shining like mad! So happy we could welcome her with this weather

Sorry for the me post I hope you're all having a lovely day, Juners!!! Enjoy the sunshine!!

Oh, and my new due date guess is any day after the 7th, as I said

(((waves)))

Oh my Naat, the situation with DH's mother sounds awful. I hope that if you both keep the line she won't be able to cross it.

It is a surprise that all of you early June ladies are hanging on but surely we're bound to get our first baby on the thread SOON.

Such a beautiful day here, spent most of it in the garden apart from a necessary trip to Sainsbury's - went with DH who did all the carrying and putting away, which was a great help. choccie glad your DH seems to have taken stock of your warning. It's so important for LOs to have daddy time, for him as much as for you and the DC themselves.

silkcushion · 24/05/2009 19:34

I think I've left it too late to post and now can't remember any of what I've just read. Other than to notice that I've said I'm 34 and I'm not - I'm 33 - I don't even know my own age

DHs - not ever met one yet (my own or others) who ever consider their wife and dcs when planning their day. Dh is quite good but never ever considers dd's needs. I was cooking sunday lunch for us and mil (another evil old bag I'm afraid). DH was asked to watch dd for 15 minutes when I spotted her on her own in the garden eating mud!!!

Where was Dh? watching the flipping cricket!!! apparently he'd only popped it on for a minute to check the score that's why he was reclining on the sofa whilst our baby was up to all sorts outside eh?

Really understand what people mean now about being heavily pg during hot weather - feel very sweaty and swollen - have now had to take rings off (done well so far).

Hope the sunshine has made you all fell a bit brighter and happier despite useless dhs/tearful hormonal outbursts/swollen extremities/raging heartburn/sheer exhaustion

Like the guessing game and notice everyone's an optimist so far (not very realistic though). I expect I'll go overdue!

blueberrysorbet · 24/05/2009 19:48

am booked for cs 4 june, so no guessing for me, unless the little scamp comes early i didn;t go into labour with ds1, so have no idea .. asked consultant how i would know and he laughed and said " you will be in pain, call my mobile at once!"

have been looking at list and see i have a dd 8? is there something i don;t know i have a ds of 2 years.

naat, feel for you, have managed to put my mum off visiting me straight after birth- we had people last time and it was a disaster, this time just us. i didn;t want anyone at the hospital last time, and they just turned up -i was v ill- drove 2 hours and the first thing i was told was " you aren't holding the baby properly, why haven;t they shown you" yeah, you try holding a 5kg new born 2o hrs after major surgery. remind me again why we live so far apart???

won't even mention mil/fil crimes against new mums well i will one day...

have arranged ds to spend morning with a friend. dh and ds will stay overnight at hospital with me until i go home. feels really weird having elective cs, like panic buying before christmas.

chocciedooby · 24/05/2009 20:00

What a fabulous day weather wise!Really hot and sunny here.Hope it was the same for all of you too.

DH has me in a state of slight shock. After taking kids out for 3 hours this morning he came home so they could have lunch and then took them off again at 3pm to his parents for an hour or so. I had my feet up in the sunshine

We then cooked a lovely BBQ and ate it in the garden with the boys. It's amazing how happy the children are after spending time with daddy and seeing mummy much happier as well.

Now we will be back to the grind stone of the working week and dh coming home late but I can easily live with that if I know he is going to help out at the weekends like he has today.

I have also decided to travel to the UK in July. Just baba and I off to my annual family reunion. It was going to be too expensive and complicated for us all to go and it never even dawned on me until today that we didn't all have to go. So now I just have to book flights and am really going to look forward to taking baby home to be with my family I would love to bring the boys as well but not without dh. Too much hard work!

Best get kids to bed now. They've had a busy day!

Evening ladies!!

What a magical day in London today and yesterday. DH and I went off to an agricultural show today and had one of the best days out we have had in ages. Admittedly I did sit down a lot and eat lots of fruit salad and ice blocks, but it was fantastic - horse jumping, sheep dog trials, cattle showing etc etc. Loved it! Although prob now have sun stroke...

I have been thinking about you lovely Juners, though, esp as it sounds like some of us are going through quite a lot and there isn't enough care or attention being paid by some DH/DPs out there.

MrsMcJnr and Choccie have esp been thinking of you and am so sorry your other halves haven't been as supportive and loving as you need and deserve . Choccie I hope your DH has taken note and that this sterling effort today continues. MrsMcJnr, also hope your DH is steadily improving for you. These relationships are so complicated and sensitive and can be easily damaged, so I really hope your DHs listen and act!!

Naat - God, I hope your MIL doesn't cause you any upset - definitely NOT what you need! . My mum (not my easiest relationship...) breezily announced her plans to arrive early July and I told her no. Not easy for me, but why aren't these people asking what suits us and our babies?? [snarling emoticon]

Off my high horse now!

Love the guessing game!! I am hoping early, but think she will be late, so will update the list and repost later.

Something tells me I have overlooked lots of posts , so instead I wave hello to all you other lovely Juners and hope you have had great days!

bunnymother · 24/05/2009 20:30

Oops, crossed a few posts!

Choccie - how fantastic to hear about your great day and your travel plans - will be a lovely trip for you!

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 24/05/2009 21:18

Good God, I just can not keep up,

Love the idea of the guessing game will add to this list in a mo, ( DH has put a lot of thought into his guess )

Tee- I'm dreaming of of big fat dripping Brie, and a V large glass of red (although that will not be with DH as he no longer drinks)

Choccie and MrsM- Hope things improve for both of you, fingers crossed.

Naat- stand your ground with MIL definitely not what you want, especially first time round there are enough emotions raging anyway without dealing with an inconsiderate MIL.
I can't remeber who it was didn't want to deliver on their birthday but I'm the same, 12 days late would put me in that position

I can not for the life of me remember anymore atm

Had a lovely couple of days here, had "spicy" food last night (well Fajitas!!!) with no effect, so went for a walk to the local garden centre this afternoon, to try and move things along.

DH had the DD's this morning and I had a nice wander at my traditional sunday morning car bott . But when I got back dd2 had been coughing so hard she had been sick, she is desperately tired as she has been up since about 5am she came into us about 0530 and talked (and sang) until dh took her downstirs at 6am. She struggl;ing to sleep this evening and keeps waking up coughing, just trying nurofen and calpol as don't want to supres her cough to much as she needs to clear the gunk..... think it might be a difficult night.

I think the baby will be one week "late".
It's funny how everybody keeps telling me that she will be early (but what do they know? .

naat What a nightmare Don't feel like you have to work around her, people who are not considerate enough to check whether they are welcome (and when) are not entitled to be offended if you don't have time for them.
Sil has told me that mil and her sister are planning to come and visit once the baby is here. ??Yeah?? Well they are not welcome actually.
I really could have done with their moral support during the pregnancy, they know my family is abroad and I no longer have my mum around, even just a phone call to see how I am doing would have been nice but I got nothing. Mil and I used to be close and get on really well before she started this divorce and stopped talking to us.
Actually Mil did give someone something for me: a random second hand book she got from a pub about pregnancy. It had the pub name on it, and the price (50p), and it was filthy. I really didn't know how to take it, it was just bizarre.
As it turns out I had already bought the book for myself from amazon. I think she either shouldn't have bothered or she should have made a proper effort.

Lovely weather today and we met up with some of the people from the NCT class who could make it this afternoon, very nice group of people.

And tomorrow is another day of leisure, yay!
We're going to a thai pub with some friends. (incidentally the pub where mils book came from)
I only ever had thai food once before and didn't like it, I'm really not a spicy food person so I hope they have other things too.

Take care Juners and have a lovely day tomorrow!

Naat · 24/05/2009 23:03

Hi ladies!

First of all, thanks to all for your supportive comments re.MIL. I'm just really praying for things not to get nasty, I really really really don't want this around LO's birth (long story, but our wedding was completely ruined by her actions/attitude before and after and DH and I ended up in counselling 32 days after d-day , just to give you some background)

Anyway...

choccie I'm so glad to read about your day today. It's great that DH felt a bit shaken and decided to spend a lovely day with DC. Oh, and you spent some alone time under the sunshine!

bunny sounds like a great day you had!!! Fruit salad, yum!!!

llynn nice lie in!! And so great you got to spend time with DD in the garden under the sun

blue I'm glad things are clearer re. you cs. It's so important to feel reassured and calm about it all.

Hi ermin! Those green fingers of yours! Glad your DH has been on the helpful group Mine has been so supportive with all this MIL bomb that I cannot complain. He's constantly reassuring me about us being what's important here and that he'll do everything and anything in his power for me to be calm and not stress too much about this...

Silk oh, men and sports... where do we begin? It's like the world has been muted for them...

Hope everyone got a lovely weather today. We had sun sun and only sun the whole day!!! I couldn't believe it, really. We went to York in the afternoon; my mum loved it

Hope you have a great rest tonight without any heartburn or too many trips to the loo

Hello all. So pleased to see that people got to enjoy some sunshine yesterday. I spent another day pottering in the garden (though took it much easier this time!)

We've got people over for a BBQ lunch today (I hope the weather holds as it says it might rain at some point this afternoon). I've felt crampy all night though, so wishful thinking that I might have to cancel because something is happening (more than likely not, but it doesn't hurt to wish).

Naat - Sorry to hear about your toxic MIL. Mine is great, but my best friend's is horrendous. Horrible, nasty, selfish lady. She's had no END of problems with her and now they only go 'through the motions' with her, if you know what I mean. I really sympathise.

June - Your MIL doesn't sound much better. What is it about MILs that makes some think they have to conform to stereotype? I hope that I'm a better MIL in the future. Sounds like you had a lovely day. Enjoy your day out today too.

Laura - I watched 'Britain's Got Talent' too (don't tell anyone!) and I was appalled that the poor little girl was left to walk off the stage on her own in tears - she was 10! If I was her mum, you would not have stopped me running on that stage and hugging her. Poor little mite.....

Doris - I hope your DD recovers a bit. Does the nice weather help her to clear it, or does it aggravate it? Poor thing. Big hug from the chocolate household.

bunny - your day sounded lovely yesterday. My DS would have been in his element as he is completely obsessed with farm and farm animals (particularly cows, as I posted earlier on this thread - a slight obsession!). Well done for managing to walk round as well. I felt totally wiped out by the heat yesterday.

llynnnn - Your day sounded blissful yesterday. Nothing like a lounge in the sun! Sorry to hear about the potential of a back-to-back baby. DS was OP and it made for a quite painful labour as all the contractions were in my back. I also had ventouse and forceps as that is quite common with OP babies as they can't make the turn as easily. I stupidly didn't take it seriously when the midwife told me he was OP a couple of weeks before I had him. Lots of scrubbing floors and leaning over a birthing ball is supposed to help.

MrsMcJnr, Tee and ermintrude - hello!

choccie - where are you based? I always assumed you were in the UK (pregnancy brain!). SO pleased that DH has got his arse in gear and realised that he needs to spend quality time with his boys. Glad to hear that you got some much-needed rest too.

blueberry - It must be so weird knowing you'll have the baby next week. At least you haven't got that waiting around thing that's frustrating most of us. Looks like you'll be the first to 'pop'

silk - You made me smile with your DH and the cricket. My DH is the same, I think he's watching DS and he'll just 'pop' somewhere and leave him. Grr..

Anyway, back off to bed as DH is supposed to get up with DS this morning. I couldn't sleep as I was so hungry so I should get a couple of hours now! Hooray!

Enjoy your BH Monday girls....xxxx

Hi all,

Upo early this mornings with pains, nothing like contractions yet but just due aches under the bump and in my lower back (haven't told dh yet) but I may have to revise my guesstimate . I don't know whether it's wishful thinking or things really are VERY SLOWLY beginning.

took some bach flower remedy as the impliocations began to hit home. Will keep you guys posted if anything develops fingers crossed!!!

bigcar · 25/05/2009 07:16

morning all

oooh, doris, will keep everything crossed for you!

Well, I can honestly say my brain has completely turned to mush now Just sat here and caught up with everyones days yesterday and can't remember a thing Thought I'd left my mobile at mils yesterday, later found it in my pocket in my trousers when I made dh ring it Totally absent minded Much more emotionally stable day though, no tears at all thankfully!

I'm going to take a wild guess that my lo will put in an appearance on the 28th May beds permitting of course!

Hope everyone has a good bank holiday monday and all dhs and mils are on best behaviour! Waves to all

Doris I shamely forgot about you in my post last night I hope DD is feeling better now, poor thing coughing so much. I remember having those cough attacks when little, you cough so much you end up being sick, poor thing.

And soooooo excited if things are actually happening now!!! Do keep us posted (if you can)

bigcar 28th! That's a nice AND CLOSE guess That's 3 days away!!! Oh I can't wait for Juners' LOs to start popping!!

ineed yesterday I told DH about your DS's "obsession" with cows (like me ) and he melted! I couldn't show him any pics because we were in bed about to go to sleep but he was quite curious about the breed of cows he liked, which I couldn't remember of course, so I'll show him today Hope you have a lovely BBQ. Do keep us posted on the cramps

Have a lovely sunny bank holiday, ladies!!!

Naat · 25/05/2009 07:49

See, bigar? You're not the only one with the mushy brain

gosh you lot are up and about and posting early.

I've had a lovely couple of hours with my little girl - leisurely breakfast, followed by a bit of a play and then she just 'helped' me sort some things out in the new nursery. (well she climbed in the baby bath and snuggled the teddies we've got for lo)

She's just gone back to bed as she's shattered (not normally up til 7.30/8am) and she didn't go to sleep again until 9pm last night (no munched books this time though)

I've crawled back into bed to contemplate whether I get up, have a shower and drive to boots to find some sort of cooling foot gel stuff (after yesterday's hideously swollen ankles) or snuggle back up and go to sleep

Doris - exciting stuff I hope
Ineed - have a great BBQ (weather permitting)
Bigcar - you may just get your brain back in a couple of weeks - lucky you
Naat - glad yr mum liked York (it's lovely) hope you have a nice day today

morning Ladies and thanks for all your comments regarding this being baby number 8.
It is a mad house often messy and noisy and always loads of washing lol. I am getting excited at the imminent arrival now as are the rest of the children. My partner finished painting the downstairs loo yesterday and I got lots of baby clothes washed and put away and set my gorgeous pink pram up. We had a bbq in the afternoon which was lovely too. Still lots of cleaning to do as usual but think we might take the younger children to the park this morning to make the most of the sunny weather. All that talk of food you have missed has made me really look forward to a special meal or three after babas birth As for guessing when she will be born Im hoping to at least get past june 6th as we are having my daughters 18th birthday party that evening but im hoping with all the running around and catering I will have to do for it I wont be much after that.
Hope everyone has a great bank holiday Monday will check in again later
