Naat · 19/05/2009 17:46

Oh mrsmc So sorry you're having to put up with this. Can't your MIL come and help a bit???

lauraloo09 · 19/05/2009 17:57

mrsmcjnr sorry your having troubles again like naat said cant your MIL help you out any?

daisy going to go into a bath and see if that helps any if things do continue will call midwife tonight, even if i need to travel the 30 miles to hospital just to get checked over it would ease my mind a lot. Baby has been pretty quiet today and bump has been tightening but putting that down to good old BH's

Naat · 19/05/2009 20:03

what is going on with MN??? Every single day it's down for some time in the morning, afternoon and evening!

Anyway...

laura I agree with daisy, if in doubt, call your MW, they've heard it all and know when how to help Keep us posted. xx

daisy5 · 19/05/2009 20:16

Yes, ring and talk it through laura. That will help. Please do, they would prefer that you did rather than sitting at home wondering. Midwives are usually really concerned when you are in the final stages and will ask all the right questions and it only takes 5-10 minutes.

llynnnn · 19/05/2009 20:19

mrsmcjnr - sorry to hear your dh is giving you a tough time, i really think they forget we are carrying an almost fully grown baby around the WHOLE time with us!! things dont change for them until the baby is born! grrrrr!

dreamy - my dd was a breech baby, i tried the ecv but it didnt work and was quite uncomfy as they have to press quite hard. i'm not trying to put u off, just wish I'd been aware what was coming before i had mine! I had a planned csection in the end as she refused to move! If it helps any though I wouldve tried ecv again this time if this one had been breech. i was also told to lean over a birthing/exercise ball to try to encourage her to move on her own too. Good luck!

Laura - hope you are feeling better. definitley worth getting checked out, if only to put your mind at rest

MrsMcJnr · 19/05/2009 20:47

Poor you Laura take care now and do call the MW if you are at all worried.

Sorry to hear that Dreamy they don't even try to turn them here. All the very best whatever you choose

Thank you all you lovely ladies for your support MIL comes to us tomorrow when her pals fly home so I will have some help from then on. DH is feeling better I think

llynnnn · 19/05/2009 20:49

pleased to hear you are getting some help tomorrow mrsmcjnr. as soon as dh is feeling better make sure you make the most of the last few weeks of pregnancy and lay it on thick!!

insywinsyspider · 19/05/2009 21:23

bigcar great day for a birthday it was rain here all day! that you?re being induced next week that?s great you have appointment ? can?t believe babies will be arriving soon

laura I?ll be 36 wks on Thurs but like said not expecting anything to happen, the contractions kick in when I?m running around after ds?s! but I?m only 1cm dilated ? apparently normal for 2nd/3rd preg and not moving so I think its just my bodies way of telling me to slow down, I?d like to get to at least 37 tho so I can have HB again
Did you call MW or go to hosp? don?t ever think you are wasting their time from my experience they are more than happy to monitor you just to make sure

june I have no idea how big baby is either, I?m assuming its head down due to no panicked looks at hosp ? birthing ball sounds like best way to get baby in correct position, I was told for first baby need to start thinking bout positioning and how you sit from 37wks so you are doing fine

silk sorry your not getting support from dh or mum, luckerly I had dh on side but can sympathise with mum ? mine still thinks you should go to hosp and stay for a wk so you ?get some rest and learn how to do things? ? she seems unable to accept that babies no longer get taken away to the nursery so the mothers can rest! And actually I want to be at home so dh makes me breakfast in bed

mrsmcj sorry to hear dh is being such hard work, they just don?t get it do they? Problem is they want to be babied when they are ill but glad you?re getting his mum in to do that and give you a break from it

Great day here ? painting mostly done, babies room is together and boys at nursery tomorrow ? my nesting instinct for cleaning has deserted me tho might do hosp bag instead tomorrow

Tee2072 · 19/05/2009 21:35

Evening all!

Here was my afternoon:

3:15 arrive at Antenatal Clinic.
3:45 had bloods taken for diabetes check
4:45 see Endo
4:50 see OB
5:05 done
5:20 had dinner at hospital
6:45 Antenatal class, held in same place as clinic
9:10 home.

Yes, I just spent 6ish hours at the Antenatal clinic. I may have to throw one of their chairs at them some day. They are so uncomfortable.

Anyway, baby measuring just over 90th centile. OB says 'come back in two weeks. We'll schedule you a CS for 10 days after that.'

GULP I'm going to have babe in arms in about 24 days. Suddenly it is all.too.real!!

lauraloo09 · 19/05/2009 21:40

thanks everyone for telling me to call midwife. i haven't done so yet but i will if feelins get any worse. still got the tightenings across belly and feeling like i constantly need the loo (been 4 times in the past hour) but think these are just normal BH's

in house all day tomorrow as cotbed from mothercare gets delivered and they could arrive anytime between 8am till 6pm. I can't believe the date for cot being delivered has came, i ordered this cot away back in october/november oh how time has flown in

insy good the painting is almost done the nesting feeling i had when i started mat leave has also left me, really need to start cleaning again

mrsmcjnr glad help is on the way hopefully you can relax for the remaining weeks

MrsMcJnr · 19/05/2009 22:20

Tee in 24 days I'll have had my baby too, hopefully without any help along the way! exciting times

Take it easy Insy

lauraloo09 · 19/05/2009 22:33

xpost tee what a long day you had but at least you now have a date for having your baby not long to go now take it easy x

LittleSarah · 19/05/2009 23:12

Oooh tee fun day for you!

MrsMcJnr - Sorry to hear things are still so tough for you, hopefully once dh is 100% you'll get some tlc.

Well, went to home birth group today; there are nine home births in my area in June! And three due dates really near me; I am the 6th, there are others on the 1st, 5th and 9th... we were talking about what they would do if two happened at once!

Again there were the warnings about fast second labours (especially if first been fast ish) which makes me either think great, an hour or two will do me, or s**t, what if midwife doesn't make it?

Of course, one woman there had had that happen too. Her first labour quite long, she thinks she has time, goes into bath alone (not really into having company in labour generally), suddenly contractions start coming very fast, stands up, head is coming out! Leaves bathroom minutes later to greet husband with baby in arms....

Madness I tell you!

Car seat dropped off tonight (given by a friend), slowly getting there!

LittleSarah · 19/05/2009 23:13

Laura - Sorry to miss you, hope you are okay and you get some rest.

silkcushion · 19/05/2009 23:17

it's all starting to feel awfully real isn't it?

Bigcar - I can't belive I read yr post and totally missed that you're booked for an induction next Thurs - sorry

Any news from Effie? (should check fb)

Saw the consultant his afternoon - lovely man. He asked why I was there as he could see no reason. I said I believed it was an arse covering exercise by the MW. As I wanted a hb (which she's known for ages) she suddenly thought I should be referred due to my BMI (which she has also known for ages - since booking in appointment)

he laughed and said he thought my bmi was fine given how tall I am (5ft 11). He said he didn't mind putting his name on the notes and taking the blame for making the decision. He then told me his dw wanted HB but he refused. That made me worried - he explained no medical reasons but he felt delivering his own children would have been a busman's holiday! He wanted to hold her hand and wipe her brow not stitch her up

So have told dh that HB is all go - now I need to organise it. Seeing mw next week to ask the specific gory details.

Hope you are all ok Juners

ps MRSM here is an for you to use on yr dh. Hope he's on the mend

bunnymother · 20/05/2009 07:42

Morning ladies!

I spent pretty much all of yesterday at the drs and then the hospital. The sugar in my urine taken at the drs set off a possible gestational diabetes alert in the GP, so off to hospital I go for tests. Hospital runs their own tests, and then send them off. Sounds simple? Well, all up took 7 hours (inc transport b/n dr and hospital) and I have to call back for the results. Hospital suggested I pop back if I like. I do not like. That would take another day! [annoyed emoticon].

Bigcar - how exciting that you are being induced in just over a week!! Wonder if you will be 1st or 2nd cab off the rank? Checked FB and no update from Effie, so fingers crossed her little one isn't so impatient anymore...

Silk - how rude of your DH and MIL to tease you about hypnobirthing. Would they prefer that you practice panicking instead? Keep on breathing in the golden light, girlfriend!

MrsMcJnr - your DH. I wonder whether a little conversation about his approach and contribution would help? I hope his enthusiasm for assisting and appreciating you returns w his health! And I also hope MIL gives you a hand, too. She's been there before w babies, so she should understand that you are more than working full time!

Dreamy - a lady I know's baby was breech and to be CS and then baby turned and decided she was on her way, so fingers crossed your little one decides breech is not the way and turns for you...

I just have to have another little moan - I thrust my (newly painted) swollen feet at Dr and apparently this can happen in late stage of pregnancy and nowt can be done. Yes, well, nowt of my shoes fit, except for fip flops! . Plus poor DH confessed that I snore most nights . I am now OVER being pregnant.

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 20/05/2009 08:01

Morning all. All good here, tho' still crampy... like you, bunny, I'm so OVER being pregnant.

I've now had two nights of good sleep (to make up for my five nights of no sleep in a row) and I feel a bit more physically able to cope with labour....

Going to try and catch up now....

Tee2072 · 20/05/2009 08:15

Morning all.

I am with ineed and bunny. Done with this! Almost there, ladies!

It finally happened...rings are now on a chain around my neck! I guess its good I got this far with them on my fingers!

I'm off to the Day Spa [brag emoticon]. Have a lovely day all!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 20/05/2009 08:15

insy - pre-labour..... that's really exciting! I hope your nesting instinct comes back for you.

bunny & Tee - Sorry to hear about your hospital visits. What a PITA!

Silk - I hope you get your HB. Not impressed with teasing about the hypnobirthing. It's you that's got to get through labour, not them!

LittleSarah - I've had two friends who've had speedy second deliveries recently (under an hour each). They just about managed to get to the hospital in time. My worry is that I won't be able to get DS to my IL's on time.

Dreamy - thinking good positive 'turning' thoughts for your LO.

Laura - Hope you feel better soon.

MrsMcJnr - Bloody hell. I hope DH starts being a bit more supportive once he feels better. He owes you BIG TIME!

Naat - Hello!

Hello to the rest of you. I hope you have a happy day.

Effie - Hope all's well.... thinking of you and your LO xx

lauraloo09 · 20/05/2009 08:29

morning all - will catch up at some point but just want to say tee of your day, enjoy yourself

had a rubbish nights sleep up around 10 times with toilet cramps and pain in lower back and hips kept poor DH up too makes a change tho that his snoring didn't keep me awake
Would be trying to sleep if i didn't need to be up so early for mothercare to deliver the cotbed i hate when companies tell you anytime between 8am and 6pm and they also told me they will not enter my home with the package so i'm on my own and have to try and get a cotbed and mattress upstairs on my own...might phone BIL and see if he can come over and help me

Naat · 20/05/2009 08:36

Morning Juners!!!

Tee enjoy your pampering session!! Do tell us about it later.

Ineed so glad to hear you've been able to sleep these last couple of nights... it's such a change, isn't it? I had a good one on Sun and last night so... Oh, your DS is LOVELY!!! Those pics are fantastic!

Bunny so sorry to hear about your day at the doc's yesterday 7hs!!! Did they tell you when the results will be back? Hope everything is OK, keep us posted.

Silk great news for you on the HB front, then!! Glad to hear you got a sensible doctor who saw things clearly.

littleS glad you have your car seat! Fingers crossed for a quick but not so quick labour

mrsmc hope things are better today. 24 days! You too, tee! laura the cot is coming today! Hope you're feeling better, if not, remember, call your MW!

insy glad to hear you had a productive day yesterday Good luck with the hosp bag today! How's your DS feeling?

Hi llynn daisy choccie ermin and the rest of the juners!

effie thinking of you and LO xx

Over here, as I said last night was not too bad, just one trip to the loo and I managed to go back to sleep, phew! Busy day today, paperwork to get out of the way and some more books to pack.

Hope you have a lovely day Juners!!!

(((waves)))

Naat · 20/05/2009 08:37

laura DO NOT under any circumstance try to take a cotbed upstairs or move it even! Please, I beg you! Call someone, please please please...

insywinsyspider · 20/05/2009 08:52

naat ds1 is fine, he had a lovely day at nursery yesterday, his face was a picture when they all sang happy birthday too him, I noticed last night that his ear was all sticky with loads of wax coming out but he didn't seem bothered when I cleaned it and didn't want any medicine so maybe he just got water in it?!?

laura ask the person delivering to bring cot in, they often say stupid things like that but then the lovely delivery person turns up and will take pity on heavily preg woman, or will be too embarassed to say no! take it easy today

silk at great consultants appointment - my best friends husband is a surgeon and she is worried he'll be down the other end offering to do stitches when she has baby

littlesarah 2nd labours usually are quicker but for me ds1 16 hours, ds2 8 hours, was more of a 'sh*t I know whats happening second time round' feeling but it might not be extremely quick like for some people - I also think 2nd time was quicker for me as I stayed on my feet more, if contractions slowed I went for a walk round block or up and down stairs

slept ok here, only one pee in night needed on a tmi point I have had the 'runs' since friday, I get cramps and then have to rush to loo, happens about 3-4 a day, apart from that I feel fine but its been 5 days now since I had a proper poo, I know diaoherea can be pre labour stuff but do you think its ok to have it for 5 days? never had anything like this

right back to painting the hall, today I'm painting over all the scuff marks and then up to the loft for baby clothes

lauraloo09 · 20/05/2009 09:08

called BIL and he is on his way over can't believe the nursery will be complete tonight
