The problem I find with baby beetroots, is as yummy as they are, when I eat them they make my wee pink, and then I get all worried about traces of blood - obsess much!

I'm in a very good mood - I've just been for my booking appt. with the midwife who saw me through the last pregnancy (unfortunately she's retiring in August so won't see me completely through this one). I also told work today, and my boss was very good about it (considering out of a team of four, three of us have had babies in the last year, and now I'm pregnant again!). So it's all beginning to feel quite real. Fingers crossed that everything progresses ok until 12 weeks now.

babygibbon · 19/05/2005 17:06

Food wise, I'm not being sick but a lot of food is now making me feel nauseous (although not ginger cake - yum).

I don't know if we're going to find out the sex of the baby. We did last time and it was great to be prepared, but this may well be my last baby, so I'd quite like the fun of finding out at the birth...

ninah · 19/05/2005 17:26

I'd love to find out! it's not policy here to tell either but if you are lucky they sometimes give you a subliminal hint
I'd love a girl to add to my household of boys (dp, dss, dss's mates, ds) it would be nice to have a pair of shoes lined up in the hall instead of Huge grass-stained trainers

ninah · 19/05/2005 17:30

I meant to ask you all - anyone else breathless? I find I get really out of breath a lot, esp at night, maybe I'm more pregant than I think!

dramaqueen72 · 19/05/2005 17:57

i wont be finding out, love the birth fidning out myself. not not breathless ninah, but read how usual that is, so worry not. just TIRED< worn out from doing one small job, feel feeble and weak! ugh!
nemo, think if its fresh and well cared for cream should be okay. if tis not sealed up properly sat about....well, then maybe not!

Bonkerz · 19/05/2005 18:13

dh and i were talking about asking the sex of the baby last night. I found out the sex with my ds (although at 20 wks was told GIRL and 23 weeks told BOY!!) I found it helped me bond with my son and helped giving him a name and decorating etc. DH didnt find out when he had dsd and said he liked the surprise! We havent come to a conclusion yet but i think i will win. I really want to find out the sex again, lots of reasons, boding and also i feel it will be good for ds and dsd to know what they are getting and then they can help organise and prepare for him/her. Will let you know if i win but honestly i think dh is learning not to argue with a pregnant lady!!

managed to eat some popadoms at lunch time today but have felt queasy all day. only been sick once! Honestly i need shooting cos when i do feel poorly i moan and when i feel not so queasy i get worried about the baby!!

hereshoping · 19/05/2005 19:04

Hi its me again - suffering extreme paranoia. i posted last week when had scan at 6+3 with heartbeat btu small bleed beside it. been feeling nicely pg - ie yeeucch but now today at 7+5 when lost first mc have decided i dont feel v pg anymore. cant enjoy the fact i feel a bit less sick and convinced its all going wrong again
got another scan aweek today
no pain/bleeding or anything
sorry to be so negative, just when everyones posting much more positive vibes but cant reveal true extent of paranoia to anyone in real world!

Nemo1977 · 19/05/2005 19:47

heres hun its completely normal. Last week when i knew i was going to see mw my sickness etc completely disappeared [also around 7+5ish]and it didnt come back until i had my scan. I know its hard to try to relax but am sure everything is fine.

scully · 20/05/2005 09:46

So how is everyone this morning? I could definitely do with more sleep, and running for my train most morning is not doing me any favours.....had a very nausaus afternoon yesterday but toast is trying to keep it at bay this morning.
So need a lie in tomorrow, anything is better than 6.00am

MINNIE1 · 20/05/2005 09:48

hereshoping,
I will join you on the paranoia trip, Was the same b4 scan and will stay that way until babs is born i think!!
All will be ok we have to stay positive (ya like i am doing a good job of that) please try not to worrie all will be ok.

DP doesnt want to know the sex of the baby but i am unsure! will have to wait and see.
Ribs were sore last night and i couldnt sleep again! grrrrrrrDP promised i could stay in bed all day tomor aghhhh bliss....

expatinscotland · 20/05/2005 09:50

Am missing coffee. I love the smell of it, but the thought of drinking it turns my stomach. Stick to herbal teas.

Had a rough evening and brought up tea, so just went to bed early to escape nausea.

MINNIE1 · 20/05/2005 12:21

I am going around the office with the botton and zip in my jeans open, With a jacket to cover! These jeans fit 2 weeks ago! i cannot close them as i would have to lie down aghhhhh

ninah · 20/05/2005 12:56

thanks dq, that's reassuring

beckymumof3 · 20/05/2005 14:01

Ooh, ooh, just booked my 'yoga for pregnancy and childbirth' course starting in Sept. woohoo.

MW phoned yesterday (nearly dropped the phone in surprise) but only to change booking in appt - nothing interesting..

Looked at the seraphina trousers and my jaw hit the floor...have casually started dropping hints because I will need to do a lot of persuading that its worth spending that much on mat. pants! DH said (through gritted teeth) "if it would make you feel better" but i'm going to see if I get a nice surprise first

I'm coming darn sarf this weekend for a drunken girlie weekend (haha) prearranged before this all happened. A weekend of watching drunken girlies for me then

beckymumof3 · 20/05/2005 15:36

Anyone else finding it difficult to cook dinner? I'm finding the thought of it increasingly difficult to stomach - my nausea seems to get worse throughout the day.

Had planned sweet and sour chicken tonight but feel ill thinking about the smell (don't know why). Cooked shep. pie yesterday and that was tricky enough! How housewifely!!

beckymumof3 · 20/05/2005 15:37

Its all so quiet [looking around]

MINNIE1 · 20/05/2005 15:40

beckymumof3,
Does the yoga help in the delivery?

Cooking is the same for me, garlic and chicken have been off the menu for a while now. Shepard pie is all i can stand at the mo and sandwichs. Gone off salad, love chips though.

dramaqueen72 · 20/05/2005 15:44

ugh hate cooking right now and normally i am the 'made from stratch' type of cook. food put in front of me is usually okay but its the preparing and the SMELL of ingredients that has been more than putting me off. i can not wait for this stage to end. honestly i want my life back, i'm sick, tired, not eating properly, feels like i am in limbo

MINNIE1 · 20/05/2005 15:53

dramaqueen72,
" i'm sick, tired, not eating properly" god thats me
I bet you would love to be ABLE to eat a nice meal.....

beckymumof3 · 20/05/2005 17:47

Does the yoga help in the delivery?

Dunno, I expect it won't hurt I am doing it mainly cos its a nice thing to do and will maybe meet other mums due round the same sort of time (though as will be teaching ANT classes, will meet mums through 2 courses I am running ending in Nov/Dec - but can't guarentee they'll want to be friends with the 'teacher' )

Food- can't eat it don't feel like cooking it. I seem to be able to occasionally tuck away some chips or a pizza - but totally gone off 'decent' food.

beckymumof3 · 20/05/2005 17:48

Also, (sorry to be going on so much today) I haven't had a nap today and am feeling so much worse. tiredness def. doesn't help!

george32 · 20/05/2005 20:53

It's definitely the sleepy dec thread here again today!!
Thought I'd drop in to say hi before curling up under a duvet on the sofa. I've packed DP & the kids off to the cinema so it's just me & some trashy telly tonight. I'm trying to see if I can make it 9.00pm before I nod off

Sorry you are feeling a bit paranoid about things Heres. I'm going through ups & downs of it too. We have decided to book another scan too, for when I am 10 weeks, to try to get some more peace of mind. We will get there....eventually.

Minnie, I'm about the same time gone as you I think & I'm certainly bursting out of my clothes now. Won't it be nice to be able to come clean at work & not have to skulk around with flies undone!

Right, off to doze, have a good evening all....zzzzzz.......zzzzz.......zzzzz

Nemo1977 · 20/05/2005 21:18

Bonkerz · 20/05/2005 22:11

ok paranoia here too! Was VERY sick this morning and had to ring a friend to take my son to school for me cos i was too dependant on the sink! Felt better by 10am and even managed a bread roll at lunch time. Slept on the sofa for an hour and felt queasy for about an hour but i have managed a small tea tonight and although i still feel queasy and my boobs are SO sore im still worrying that somethings wrong!! It dawned on me today that this is the most pregnant i have been since i had my son nearly 5 years ago!! Roll on 15th June when i will be 12 weeks and hopefully will completely relax!!

expatinscotland · 20/05/2005 22:15
