Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Jael · 30/04/2009 22:23

Evening ladies,

just to let you know baby Jacob was born at 01.44pm this afternoon weighing 7lb 3oz. CS went well, recovery took a bit longer.
Have had quite a stressful day as mummy can't keep even a glass of water down. Currently drip attached and jabs administered (was when i left @ 9 anyways)
Babys doing ok tho, been feeding n sleeping mostly
Thankyou for the txts, unfortunatly there is no orange signal in the new maternity hospital tho, so am sorting out a different sim so she can send me instruction on what to fetch her.. lol x

good luck to all dropping soon, n well done to those of you already dropped.

nite nite - Mr J xxx

Euromum - it's www.blottedcopybook.co.uk

Jennster I'm proud of you!

Grumpy No wonder DD's friend is jealous of you! My word, you're a superhero! Glad you all enjoyed the jaffa cakecakecakecake too. I really should get round to blogging more cake recipes shouldn't I?

Well tonight has been eventful. DS2 woke from his nap in tears, said his tummy was sore and I said to come to Mum for a hug. He dutifully did so and waited just until I cuddled in to give it the Lewie, Huey and Duey act all over me, my bed, my laptop, the floor, himself and his blankie. That was around 6ish and he's been vomiting spectacularly ever since. I actually can't believe that we have yet another bloody bug in the house.

Best part is that today has really been horrible - I was at the hospital with my Nana all day because she was booked in for laser eye surgery, except her surgeon changed his mind when she went in and decided to operate on her cataract instead. She had the other cataract done 4 years ago and was absolutely fine with it but decided to have a full-on meltdown about it today so me at 36w had to pretty much cart my sobbing 75 year old bag of bones Grandmother back to the car. Luckily she calmed down once we were away from the hospital but I have no idea why she freaked out like that.

Blottedcopybook · 30/04/2009 22:26

Hooray!! Congrats to Jael and Mr Jael - thanks for keeping us posted :D

Tummum · 30/04/2009 22:30

Congratulations Jael and Mr Jael. Really hope Jael feels better soon and that the horrible migraines finish now too.

Gosh we are getting loads of babies now... very exciting (although I am as I am due mine tomorrow and want mine NOW !

pulapula · 30/04/2009 23:11

Just a quick me post. My DH did all the unpacking from our hol at CenterParcs last week (i took DCs out to get food on return).

I'm seeing the consultant tomorrow re. my elcs and he doesn't recall seeing them on our return (not sure where i put them whilst away either as I just took them as a precaution. How serious is this? I assume the hospital have records of all my past history/appointments there, and it will just be my handwritten MW notes that are "lost".

Guess if they are lost then not much i can do- just a bit embarrassing...

detsy · 30/04/2009 23:12

llare baby George is really lovely and your other LO is gorgeous as well - what lovely looking kiddies you have x How old is your LO, he looks about the same age as Lotti (18 months)

Hope you are all sleeping well, catch you soon xx

Mr & Mrs Jael - congrats to you too on safe arrival of baby Jacob, hope Jael starts to feel better now the pregnancy is over x

Off to bed - nite all x

Oh ordered my jujube bag today - am v excited!!

pulapula · 30/04/2009 23:13

Oh and congrats Jael and Mr Jael- Jacob is a lovely name and although there were complications following the cs, hope everything is going OK now and that Jael is not feeling so rough.

Yes, sorry in a panic i didn't articulate myself very clearly. Yes, its my handheld notes.

Tricky bit about tomorrow is the appointment is at 9am so probably won't know before my appointment if they have been found at centerparcs. I will have another search now, and see if they turn up. Just would have thought CP would have been in touch if the cleaning staff had found them as they are obviously private and confidential (or maybe they are just waiting for me to call....)

Thanks dandy- when i think about things, i have a vague memomy of putting the notes in a drawer in our room there (as i didn't want my mum having a nosey!) but when we packed up, i didnt do a thorough check as we tended to keep everything on open shelves (and it was a rush to be packed and out by 10am).

So i will have to call lost property tomorrow (they don't open til 9am). My consultant did record my history on a dictaphone last time we met, so hoping at least he has that recorded. Might just say i have temporarily mislaid the notes tomorrow and hope CP have them.

DH is very good with paperwork so when he says he didnt see them on return, then i'm sure thats the case, so i'm not going to search too much more til i've spoken to CP.

llareggub · 01/05/2009 07:15

Morning!

pulapula I'm sure they'll turn up, don't worry. At the very least your blood results and scans will be on the NHS computer.

jael huge congratulations!

Detsy DS is 2.5 years, so a bit older than Lotti. He is very tall but looks pretty much the same as he did at 18 months, I think.

We had a good night, not much sleep but lots of feeding in the lying down position so I got quite a bit of rest. Sorry for way too much information, but I'm too scared to have a poo and I know I must! Any tips?

euromum · 01/05/2009 08:09

Congratulations jael! Jacob is a lovely name, would love to use it myself except that it is also dh's surname so won't work! Hope you are feeling ok.

llare re poo - a week after having dd my midwife gave me a homeopathic laxative which was either pretty effective or simply made me relax enough to get the job done - could you maybe send your dp to the chemist to see if they can give you something similar? I found it kind of took the pressure off me 'performing' (god that does sound silly doesn't it!).

flippineck · 01/05/2009 08:11

llaregub - deep breaths, relaxed face. Plenty of water to drink before hand, and warm water to pour on your bits as well if the stitches sting. And lactulose if you really can't do it. And well done on getting a bit of a rest last night!

jael - huge congratulations to you all.

pulapula - hope you manage to track down your notes.

Tummum · 01/05/2009 08:56

Morning all. My due date today - we are all expecting our babies this month... how did that happen then??

Llare my other top tip for poo-ing is hold a pad against your fanjo when going for additional "support". This is probably information you don't want to know, but I know of people that call the 1st poo the 4th stage of labour . Once it's out of the way (!) you will be well on the mend !

Pula sending finding vibes your way !

Reggiee · 01/05/2009 09:15

JAEL many congrats . Rest and enjoy. Thanks for the update Mr J - much appreciated.

Llare I totally understand re pooing. I was literally sh!tting it. Definitely loads of water helped. Also leaning slightly forward on the toilet and if you have a book / telephone directory to rest your feet on. Also, due to my piles, I didn't wipe but stepped straight in to the shower after my first poo which was nice and soothing. Good luck.

Thinking of chocolate and 1stMrsF .

Hope those of you with due dates today are relaxing.

CoteDAzur · 01/05/2009 09:21

Congratulations Jael & Mr Jael!

New babies every day. It's all very exciting.

We had a bit of a scare last night - I went to bed early (as usual these days) and had gradually worsening pain for a couple of hours. Baby wasn't moving much during this time and my tummy was rock hard. It felt like particularly bad period pains and was all over the tummy, not just below. Not contractions, though, as those would come and go while this was consistently hurting.

Can anyone say what it could be or if I should go & get checked out?

sausagenmash · 01/05/2009 09:49

Congrats to Jael!!

OMG. Its May. We're having babies this month! Can I change my mind, please? These stitching stories are scaring the bejesus out of me Maybe if I have a snooze and wake up it will all be a dream, and I can fit into proper jeans again and swig wine like theres no tomorrow......

Lovely day for Choc today - well, it is in London, so hopefully its lovely down in Devon too...

I have bump pics on FB - can't work out for the life of me how you put pics on here - was bad enough on FB! Off to look at George pics...!

flippineck · 01/05/2009 10:42

sausage - I'd forgotten it's now May. Eeek! And I'm due a week today. Double eeek! Don't be scared by stitching stories, lots of women don't have them. And even if you do, they're not terrible, just a small part of the whole thing.

Beautiful day here too, but today I would like my share of the World's Worst Mum prize please. DD is still ill (definitely a cold, but think there's some final molar action too) and woke at 5:30 this morning. She's obviously tired and not feeling well but does she really need to put that much effort into a tantrum?! Half an hour screaming, and do you know why? Because she wanted me to clean her teeth again - wtf is that all about? Normally she gets cross because she doesn't want her teeth cleaned. I did her teeth three times in the end, but didn't want to do them again in case it's not good for her. Anyway, the tantrum really wore her out and she's asleep again, so it looks like I'm stuck at home again this morning. I get cabin fever easily! Sorry, will stop feeling sorry for myself and feel more sorry for her, it's not her fault.

Oh, and morning everyone, hope you're all well, slept ok, feeling good etc.

flippineck · 01/05/2009 10:54

chocbunnies is probably married now! Wasn't it 10.30? Hope she's having a lovely day.

CoteDAzur · 01/05/2009 11:09

re stitches

I will be the voice of doom again and urge everyone to take their own painkillers to hospital in case they don't get offered anything other than paracetamol, one every four hours.

Hopefully, you won't even need them. But if you do, it's better to have them handy than not enjoy the precious first days of your baby because you are in so much pain.

And please please wash the area often with that red iodine antiseptic (called "Betadine" here in France).

flippineck · 01/05/2009 11:10

My turn to talk to myself . Guess you're all out enjoying the sunshine or enjoying your new babies!

Is it too early to sit in the garden and eat a Magnum? (well, Sainsburys copy of a Magnum, we're on a budget!)

sophietom · 01/05/2009 11:11

Hi everyone- hope you are all sharing the lovely weather we have here

Congratulations to Jael hope she is home soon as it seems she's had a horrible time of it lately

pulapula i'm sure you aren't the first to lose thier pg notes- what with the famous pregnancy brain!

Cote are you still getting pains? If you are worried phone your MW for advice, maybe it was strong BH?

Still have dodgy stomach today but looking back over the recent posts it seems I'm not the only IBS sufferer who's having problems (sorry can't remember who else had posted about it) so it is maybe just a late pg thing like others have suggested

Postie bought me double whammy of good news today- My HiP grant has been paid hooray! and my jury service has been deferred for a whole year (I was supposed to be doing it a week after giving birth ! )

pulapula · 01/05/2009 11:20

Morning all,

Phoned Centerparcs and notes haven't been handed in, so will do a quick search here later, but not sure where they will be . They weren't too fussed at the hospital today.

However, have more things to worry about [gulp emoticon]. Am due 25 May, and was expecting my cs to be on 19 May with the consultant i had last time (as he said he would do the op again with it being a Tues which is "his day"). However, he is fully booked so they gave me the Weds, Thurs or Fri that week instead. I asked if i could bring it forward a week. The doctor said they usually do sections at 39 weeks due to dates not being that accurate etc etc and a risk that LO will be too early, but there is availability on 12 May so i decided to go for that. I am confident on the dates as it fitted in with when i thought i was ovulating, and baby was measuring above average size at 31 weeks so still expecting around an 8lb baby. Not sure if i am being selfish by going for what it best for me rather than baby, but DH thinks if we delay it i may be more stressed which wouldnt be good for baby either....any views? Still got time to change my mind and go for a later date i guess so don't feel like you have to agree with my decision if you think it is a bit risky...i would really value your opinions. Thanks

runningmonkey · 01/05/2009 11:21

Morning all,
Just waiting for my dad and his gf to arrive for a visit so thought I should pop in and check for more babies... and sure enough YAY jael!!! sorry to hear you are suffering after the cs but good to hear Jacob is doing well. another lovely name btw. Thanks for updating us again Mr J.

llare just had a quick look at your pics. ooooh gorgeous, I love the one of your dh and B looking at G together, made me all teary

I have also been thinking about choc - might raise a cup of raspberry leaf tea to her and her new DH a bit later!

cote no idea what that could be sorry, I get a really tight bump when I walk to fast or do too much bending which will only go away when I lie down - am presuming this is bh contractions? (did ask on the last thread but think it got missed in the baby excitement!)

Good labour inducing vibes for all those due today - Mrs F and you tummum Hope I haven't missed anyone else!

DH and I went out for dinner last night and we decided from tomorrow (will be 37 weeks) we're implementing a 'get the baby out' campaign. Think he is looking forward to his bit of it esp since we got pg so quickly he didn't get much chance of action beforehand

Sun is also out here, hope all have a good day xx
