Pedal can't stop laughing at your post! I know it was serious but you have a good blog sense of humour re the baby dancing...

lissy your DP is adorable! what a lovely day for you all.

katster get a take away. your friends will appreciate that you are sick..that is what I would do..then everyone can have what they want.Poor you throwing up..When is this MS going to end for all of us sufferers...

DH just rang from NYC--he bought me 3 pairs of shoes (unprompted)..what a star!

Hi sparkly! welcome to NOV

pedalmonster · 27/05/2009 11:22

katster cannot believe this is your first filling ever! good for you, thats quite an achievement. The white ones are fine - its the metal (mercury) fillings which they say you shouldn't have. And yes, Dental work is free when you are preg. In the last 2 nonths I have had a filling (which had to be removed as I then developed an absess) a root canal and a crown - I think I have seen dentist more than DH lately. Dentist also assured me that baby will be fine. I swear pregnancy makes your teeth rot! (thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it). I also think the stress of the treatment may have added to your throwing up....
BBL yes the wrap does need practising, best to get a friend to help you out with it, DH will just say "it looks fine" even if you have got the dress on upside down with your bum hanging out! There are a couple of options with the wraps, depending on how big your bump is / looks / wants to look.
ursigurke i would love to be a SAHM but Dh will start to hyperventilate about not being able to re-mortgage if I am unemployed... still, we are not exactly living in a shoe box under a bridge.

pedalmonster · 27/05/2009 11:26

sleepless that made me smile, now I'm not so grumpy!
How lovely that DH is buying you shoes in NY - WOW you are so lucky!

lemontop · 27/05/2009 12:00

pedalmonster good news on the test results. Sorry to hear about your job but like you say it may turn out to be a blessing.

Just had my midwife appointment and heard baby's heartbeat for the first time. Yay! Sounded a bit like a horse galloping. I took DP with me so it was nice for him to hear it too. I got told my iron's a bit on the low side so have been told to eat more red meat & veggies. I guess if I just take my pregnacare vitamins everyday that'll help. I haven't really been taking them unless I've had a day of eating rubbish.

Also got told to take it easy at work. Easier said than done!

sleeplessinthecity · 27/05/2009 13:05

lemontop the gp should give you pregaday free so you don't have to fork out on pregnacare as all those boots vits are expensive. Its excellent for iron too. Made my low levels back to normal again. (makes the poop black tho - eioooo)

Had to have a medical for life assurance last week and my results show a high cholesterol level which really stressed me out. After some googling i found out that pregnant women and breastfeeding ladies have sky high levels..wierd or what.? I have been eating lots of choc but not enough to increase my cholesterol which has always been fine.

sleeplessinthecity · 27/05/2009 13:06

pedal its nice to have a laugh, I'd almost forgotten how!!!

pavlovthecat · 27/05/2009 13:59

Tamlin - you know, funnily enough, WoW has never got him. He has played Evercrackquest, Anarchy Online, Championship Manager, and now his latest is called Mountain Blade, its not new I don't think, but at least its not online either. Online was the worst ever as our friends who played it would talk about it all the time like it was real!!!!

pavlovthecat · 27/05/2009 14:05

pedal 32 and still not fillings and ALL my own teeth too!

katster37 · 27/05/2009 14:36

Sleepless - three pairs of shoes from your DH, without prompting?!?! Lucky you!! Also, how bizarre about cholesterol?? That shouldn't affect your life assurance though, should it? If it's only a pregnancy thing I mean?
The strange things it does to us...

Lemontop yay for galloping horse heart beat - how exciting!!

Also, I didn't know that the GP could give you pregaday vitamins for free - that's really good. WIll make enquiries when I am next there. (Although since mine apparently doesn't know about feeing faint in pregnancy, I doubt they will be on the ball with this!!)

Usigurke hope you have ordered that dress!!

Fruitpastels · 27/05/2009 14:44

I can join you Pavlov - 32 and no fillings!! Don't know how as drink far too many sugary drinks!

pedalmonster · 27/05/2009 15:28

pavlov and fruitpastels that is truely amazing. I actually think it is genetic... I have always brushed twice a day and floss every night, and not so many sweets as savory is my thing! sigh! luckily i dont look like Jaws from James Bond but I have 3 fillings and 2 crowns ( where the whole top of the tooth is replaced)
pav have you changed your name again? or do we have a couple of pavlovs hovering hte board?
lemontop oooh congratulations that is a lovely way to describe it! what did DP say?

Hmm I went to the GP yesterday about stress at work (not my usual lady GP, some bloke!) and he said its fine - stress will not affect the baby, and basically I should stop over reacting. He said that my baby was lucky in the scheme of things - that crack babys survive and babies in rural africa etc.

helips · 27/05/2009 15:29

Hello everyone! My internet died on me on Friday and is only just up and running, god I've missed mumsnet!! It's taken me a squillian years to catch up on everyones posts!

brighton baby not sure if you are still reading this thread but I am so so sorry to hear your news. Especially hard that you should be celebrating one of the happiest days of your life, I hope that once this is over you will go on to have a lovely wedding and a healthy happy baby or two. All the best to you and your dp, take care of yourselves.

My sil has taken ds out this afternoon and I am sitting on the sofa eating cake and drinking tea, it is heaven! Once I've caught up I might have to pop on the Isabelle Oliver sight and order a few bits!

pedal lol at your post about the baby dancing! dh and I haven't done the deed since finding out Im pregnant, in the first 12 weeks I felt quite up for it but wanted to wait till I'd had the scan and knew everYthing was alright. Now I'm just not in the mood, wonder if it's because I've gone so long without? Oh well, dh isn't too bothered at the mo so I won't mention it unless he does!

Right, mammoth post from me so will take myself off now! Hope everyone is well

turtle23 · 27/05/2009 15:59

This thread is too huge for mobiles!!!
here's a new one

ldeeanna · 31/05/2009 13:55

Hello, haven't been here for a while and really upset to hear such bad news with Brightonbaby, Laugs and Kasters friend-so sad.
Everyone alright? Cant beleive MS is still going for some of you! Hope it goes soon-you must be really thin now!! Im a whale! Noticed a bump now-its weird coz its different throughout the day-gets bigger and smaller!!
Any first timers felt any movement yet? Im eagerly awaiting mine!
Heard the babys heartbeat the other day-amazing!
Dont know whether to find out the sex of the baby???? DP is desperate to find out-so am I really but I also like the idea of anouncing whether its a boy or girl after the birth-makes it more exciting-maybe I should find out and then keep it a secret???!!!!

Anyone thinking of names yet-im struggling with girls names!! People are really unkind to your suggestions too-the misery who works for us was going on about our names being too old fashioned and we cant possibly call a child that! But the old fart doesn't seem to realise that old names are coming back!! My hormones were barely holding back towards her-wanted to tell her its because she is infact old and coz her grandmothers were possibly called names like that but as WE are YOUNG we dont associate the names with senior citizens!! Rant rant rant!!

Just to add-much calmer these days-thought I was going to give myself a heart attack in first trimester!!! Hope no one else is feeling worried?
