Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I bought a pair of isabella oliver trousers, very nice but too small and too long!!! damn! I got them in a sale so not decided if I should return them or sell on ebay, might make a fiver!

Bought a pair of maternity sweat pants, but am considering by waist expanders to keep wearing my trousers i already wear for a few more weeks, seeing as they fit well round the bum and thighs, just the bump at the front it too tight.

I have just spoken to midwife about vitamin b6, she said, preferable to keep down the pregnancy vitamins as they are designed for pregnant bodies, i am probably finding I need all the vits right now so see if I can keep these down again first. She also said Complan fine if I can tolerate the taste, but advised that I should eat whatever I can keep down, if that happens to be a highly calorific macdonalds milkshake, even at 3am, then eat it. She said pay not attention to if it is healthy at this stage, just eat it. Soooooo, I went to buy the complan, asked pharmacist if ok on advise of Dr, and she said 'NO' it has vit A in it so I cant have it, the proceeded to give me a lecture about 'grazing' little and often, eating only nutritionally efficient food, avoiding fatty and unhealthy food, and eat small meals constantly. Er, thanks luv think I have not tried it? Think I have not already eaten some healthy wholemeal toast this morning and chucked it up on the way to the shops already? Grrrrrrr. So, DH and I went and got a Mcdonalds. I had a cheeseburger and strawberry milkshake. I have never eaten a cheeseburger in my life (dont eat red meat) and felt rather violated. But it has stayed down so far Dh laughed and said ' i knew I would convert you eventually!!

Sorry for the long post, had a lot to say, clearly!!1

brightonbaby · 14/05/2009 13:02

Pedalmonstor, that's really worrying. Is it happening to you? You might find some useful info on the ACAS website: www.acas.org.uk

katster37 · 14/05/2009 13:04

Hi everyone,

Just popping in on my lunch time. Pavlov I took 60mg of B6 up until 12 weeks and am really missing it now. I had been taking 150mg when TTC.

Am soooooooooooo tired!!

pavlovthepregnantcat · 14/05/2009 13:05

Oh pedal sorry did not see that. Agree you need to talk to ACAS, they are FAB at independent advise, they will ensure you know where you stand, and what to do if you are being treated badly, or if someone you know is - as far as I know, they would have to evidence beyond reasonable doubt that it has nothing to do with your pregnancy, and that other people are being treated equally (ie other redundancies). It might be worth also posting on 'Employment' and ask Flowerybeanbag, she knows everything!!

pedalmonster · 14/05/2009 13:35

Thanks all - [sigh] yeah our whole department is at risk, but my colleagues and I have suspected it for months now due to bully boss tyrant - bet he has been waiting for an oportunity to get rid of us. To be honest I am waiting to see what they offer us - anything is better than reporting into this tosser!

thanks pavlov will give flowery bean bag a shout!

helips · 14/05/2009 14:37

pavlov I was 14 weeks on Monday but have felt movement for the past week and am pretty sure it is the baby. I've heard you feel movement earlier in subsequent pregnancies because you already know what it feels like. Hope you enjoyed your maccy d's!

pavlovthepregnantcat · 14/05/2009 14:40

oh well in that case I shall be pleased that I felt the baby moving!!!! YEY! Three of us feeling movement - anyone else?

The maccy Ds was, to be honest, pretty minging, the shake was ok, but the burger, BLEURGH. However apart from giving me the burps, it has stayed down completely and not made me feel sick, apart from the actual act of eating it that is!!!

browntrout · 14/05/2009 15:18

am 15 weeks today and felt baby movement for first time today whilst I was sitting at my desk. I was about 21 weeks with DD1 so either this one is a bit more active or I know more what I am feeling for (the latter I strongly suspect). A nice thing to happen though. Hope everyone else is feeling ok.

turtle23 · 14/05/2009 15:33

Pavlov- what size are the trousers?

Koumak · 14/05/2009 15:44

make it 5!
16 weeks here and suspected movement for couple of weeks.
Didn?t have a clue till week 20 with ds - and had to listen to MIL comments "you cannot possibly be that far along if you can?t feel the baby yet!" hello I think I know how pregnant I am thank you very much

Btw my SIL (dh's younger sis) is pregnant too and expecting at the same time! So on one hand she will be the one taking these comments (am too far for that luckily) but on the other hand my MIL hasn?t asked about the baby or me once...

pavlovthepregnantcat · 14/05/2009 17:34

what, my IO ones? they should have a 1(8) but they are so small, they might even be a 0, and they are 32 leg, and not really turnupable. Let me run and check the size.

pavlovthepregnantcat · 14/05/2009 17:35

yes, they are a (0) which I guess is a 6? No wonder they did not fit me! Either I did not put in the size right, or they did not...either way, if you are a size 6, i will sell them to you

pavlovthepregnantcat · 14/05/2009 17:39

Koumack [grr] at your MIL. You would think she could spread her interest?! When we had DD, BIL1's wife was expecting 3 months after us, and BIL2s wife 6 months after, but MIL, who lives in USA made sure she visited all the grandchildren with a few weeks of them being born. And took an active interest in all of them, they were all her 'firsts' and she was very excited. Not so excited now, seeing as she is mad as a hatter and just bought several acres of land in the desert so she can keep lamas (she is 75 ffs!)

brightonbaby · 14/05/2009 18:43

Heheheh! Llamas are great...such beautiful eye-lashes.

I'm envious of everyone feeling the baby already! Any first timers feeling it move yet??

turtle23 · 14/05/2009 19:12

Pavlov- Nevermind..
I have not been a size 6 for a while now. Thanks, though.

Fruitpastels · 14/05/2009 19:31

I have been feeling some movement for a couple of weeks, I'm 15 wks today and this is my second pg. Felt a huge jolt in my tummy when I was resting on the bed last night. It really took me by surprise . Well done Pavlov for getting some food to stay down. Shame about the Complan, but hopefully you'll be turning a corner with the sickness very soon.

Fruitpastels · 14/05/2009 19:59

Koumak I was browsing the TopShop website under maternity for summer skirts and came across a black pencil skirt, here's the link

pavlovthepregnantcat · 14/05/2009 19:59

Alas, no corner has been turned . DH is amused that maccy d's stayed down, said he would be happy with it fr tea! but i just cannot face another one. Had some quiche earlier and lemon squash, straight back up with considerable force. DH asked me what i wanted for tea. He will go out and buy and cook me anything i want. I don't want anything. He is buying vanilla ice cream and bananas and will make a home made milkshake with oats. I am like, yeah, whatever. He thinks i must eat something even if it comes back up. god he just has no idea what that is like. i just am not going to eat anything, just drink milk for a bit. .

For all those feeling the effects of ms, i am so sorry you got to go through it. its the pits.

Fruitpastels · 14/05/2009 20:10

I was just saying to DH that we have some ripe bananas that need to be used, and I'm going to make a milkshake out of them with vanilla ice-cream. If you can get things like that to stay down then you're getting some goodness. It's such a vicious circle for all those suffering this bad . Your DH sounds very supportive . I haven't felt sick for a couple of weeks, but I'm struggling with what I fancy eating. I've gone off red meat and poultry and wish I could hire a chef to come up with some wonderful ideas and put a meal in front of me each day - if only!

pavlovthepregnantcat · 14/05/2009 20:12

great minds eh fruit?

southernbelle77 · 15/05/2009 06:52

Good luck for everyone with scans today

I also hope that pavlov and the others with really bad MS start feeling better soon. I really feel for you although can't imagine how you must be feeling day in day out

ursigurke · 15/05/2009 08:01

Good luck for all the scans today!
pavlov - I agree with your midwife! Eat whatever stays down, even if it's not the healthiest food.
I really hope you will feel better soon!

BeckyBendyLegs · 15/05/2009 08:21

Pavlov big hugs to you xxx poor you I really hope you start to feel better soon.

PS I can't believe you are a size 6

I hope yesterday's scans went well. Good luck to anyone today!!!

I haven't felt any movement yet and even though I saw evidence on the screen two weeks ago I still don't feel properly pregnant yet. I have a bit of a belly but it just looks a bit more solid than normal.

DS1's cold still has me in it's grip. Sniff. Sniff. But it does mask any slight nausea I still have, which is a bonus.

Tabbykat · 15/05/2009 08:50

Morning all. Sorry some are still suffering with MS, especially poor Pavlov.

MIne has pretty much gone, although very nearly returned this week with an extremely nasty poo and sticklebrick incident by my own DD - caused much hilarity on the CM thread but made me think I don't always like my job.....!

Good luck to all those with scans today - hope you get good news. Off shopping today as weather foul and DH has gone into work on his day off.....need to find some sexy/flattering clothes (HAH!) as off to a wedding next week. Wouldn't bother but have just found out a friend who's also going is only 2 weeks less pregnant than me and has not a trace of tummy, whereas I look about 5 months gone . Hmm, must stop being so shallow....

have a good day all
xx

pavlovthepregnantcat · 15/05/2009 09:00

becky - I am not a size 6!!!! I ordered/they sent the wrong size! I am a size 8...was creeping into a 10, but now firmly in an 8 given my weight loss/lack of weight gain. I could not even get them over my hips .

And don't worry about not feeling baby kicking. before you know it s/he will be hanging off your ribcage doing somersaults!
