Here it is ladies. Shall we start with a roll call like the efficient ladies over on April 2005?

Hi it's me again - just had the weirdest night ever. About an hour ago I woke up when I heard a door closing - went into the kitchen and a man was standing there smoking. When I yelled at him he just stood there, obviously drunk, but started heading for our bedroom cursing my dh although I'm pretty sure in retrospect that he doesn't have a clue who my dh is. Luckily he then decided to just go when I kept yelling at him. Had police up with sniffer dogs the lot checking the outbuildings but they haven't found him yet. I recognised him but don't know where from, which is pretty scary - especially as we live about half a mile from a wee village so God knows what he was doing out here. Of course I got a big lecture about locking my doors - which is rotten because I've always felt so safe here. Lucky for him he didn't go into the bedroom (where Suzannah is asleep) cos I honestly think I would have killed him if he had woken her up. Of course now I can't sleep - so if I ever do see him again I'm going to punch him for ruining one of Suzannah's first nights at home. She screamed blue murder when I gave her her first bath tonight, but has been sleeping soundly since midnight. If she doesn't waken soon I'll probably have to wake her to give her a feed. Apologies for the verbal diahorrea, but it's made me feel better.

oh Cab that is awful. How upsetting that must have been so sortly after having ur dd. Hope your feeling ok now.

Glad your appointment went well Uwila, could sense your anxious vibes through the pc

fashill · 06/05/2005 10:03

OMG cab!! I thought you were going to say it was a dream too! It's a shame we can't feel safe in our own homes , I hope they catch the b*gger.

Congratulations Uwila Hope you've got the lift sorted too!!

Last day at work and now feeling a little sad...

uwila · 06/05/2005 10:04

Oh Cab, how horrible. Not really even sure what to say. It's so worrying just to have a wee little newborn in the house, and an intruder. Wow... Don't really know what to say, but glad everyone is okay.

uwila · 06/05/2005 10:07

Ah yes, Fashill. I have one brother-in-law resident in my house and added to my insurance in case of emergency. But, yesterday at the scan I asked about the status of my cervix, and it is still nicely closed up and baby is not engaged. So, hopefully I won't go into labour in the next couple of weeks.

Okay, I REALLY need to finish packing for the hospital, huh?!

logic · 06/05/2005 10:11

Hi SusiS - 7th May is a good date, my birthday too!
I'm just over the M4 from you btw, Wokingham district.

That is terrible Cab! Lock all the doors tonight! I'm glad that you are all ok. Little Suzannah sounds gorgeous though.

Wanted to have the baby yesterday and was having contractions every 30 minutes - but they stopped. Again. Claudi2 must have had her baby by now too...

Cab - what a horrible thing to happen. Love the name Suzannah.

Thought someting was going to happen last night. Had, what I consider to be, contractions last night. Really quite "Ow" at times, more than BH's. Wonder if it was teh anxiety of watching the election? More likely just needed a wee and couldn't be bothered to go...

Brighteyes · 06/05/2005 12:05

Logic I'm really starting to feel for you, you seemed to have had so many false starts. Hope you have a great birthday tomorrow though, rather than spending the day in labour, have you got anything nice planned?.

18mumtobe · 06/05/2005 15:01

congradulations cab and weezle on your bundles of joy. really pleased for you that all went well.

fisil · 06/05/2005 15:07

Tinker - me too. By the time I went I could barely stand. Good job I waited too - mine was one of the ones that changed hands and I thought the instant stats they were doing were really excellent. Just wish I had someone with me to keep an eye on the TV. Not too happy about our election results - there'd better still be some beds available in the hospital by Monday (lol)!

Belated congratulations to cab and Weezle!!

Am now feeling depressed as you have your babies and I still have a week of work to go before I can even start thinking about mine....hmph

uwila · 06/05/2005 16:09

Oh, nogger, join the club. Working through next Friday and enjoying it less and less every day. But, I just keep reminding myself that time at work now earns me time with baby later. In other words I'm saving my maternity leave for when I have a baby to enjoy. Besides, I've come this far, I can make it one more week.... I think.

logic · 06/05/2005 16:55

Thanks Brighteyes. I am hoping not to have the baby tomorrow, a bit selfish perhaps but it's my birthday mine mine mine Waaah. Haven't got anything planned though. We would normally go out for a nice meal but we are going to save up the outing for after the baby is born and I can stuff more food and alcohol in!

uwila · 06/05/2005 17:00

Logic, you could always go out for anice curry and have some pineapple for dessert. Although I'm convinced this will do nothing.

I wonder if anyone will have their baby on Friday the 13th.

logic · 06/05/2005 18:51

I don't think the curry/pineapple combination will work either, Uwila. I might try jumping up and down on ds' trampoline for a while though!

I am worried about the Friday 13th thing too which is ridiculous really! Seeing the Doc on Monday and will ask about an early induction. I have this funny feeling that I won't go into labour spontaneously anyway.

Maddison · 06/05/2005 18:57

Logic & Uwila - my due date is Friday 13th and I'm very superstitious , still this weekend I may try doing some starjumps to try and get things going . Saw the midwife yesterday and baby is 3/5 engaged, which he has been before and has disengaged so hopefully he will stay put this time

logic · 06/05/2005 20:19

Don't worry Maddison, hardly anyone has their baby on their due date! Your chances are much lower than ours!

northstar · 06/05/2005 21:01

Just popping in to introduce my beautiful dd Shannon Rose, born Wednesday at 15.00 and was 7lb14oz, we've just got home from hospital after a relaxing problem-free birth. I am rushing to spend some quality time with ds before his bedtime, will be back to catch up in the morning. I am the happiest person I know!CONGRATULATIONS ANYONE ELSE WHO'S POPPED! I havent read the thread yet, looking forward to tomorrow when I have time. xxxxxx good luck anyone in labour xxxxxxx

uwila · 06/05/2005 21:09

Congratulations Northstar.

logic · 06/05/2005 21:17

Congratulations Northstar! So glad you had a problem-free birth. Another beautiful name too.

cab · 06/05/2005 22:01

Well done and congratulations northstar - say hi to your new princess. Never heard childbirth described as 'relaxing' before so must have been a good one.

uwila · 06/05/2005 22:58

Weezle,
I've been meaning to ask you how your recovery is going? I keep thinking that the c-section recovery wasn't that bad last time and so it will be fine this time too. And then I think hmmm I wonder if I've just forgotten??? So how are you feeling? Did take Arnica? Did you have a local or a general?

Sorry, I like to know all about other people's c-section experiences just so I can remember clearly what it is I'm about to do.
