yes normal don't worry. Most likely just discharge too not show as thats very often tinged with blood or brownish and mines always been solidish a bit like really gunky snot.

When doing it if you can reach then try lifting your hips right up. It might just be toohigh up everyones different. I can only just reach mine and I have lanky fingers

soon2befamilyof4 · 12/04/2009 21:38

Is high good or bad? The discharge was like lumps though - that's what I thought was odd?

Does a nose bleed mean anything? I NEVER have nose bleeds? In fact, this might be my first one?

purlease · 12/04/2009 21:58

Nose bleed is a sign of high blood pressure - I had lots with first pregnancy. Have had a few in the last week too.

soon2befamilyof4 · 12/04/2009 22:13

I usually have low blood pressure if anything! Could it be caused by this? If I lie on my back my blood pressure usually drop right down and I often go VERY dizzy etc which is why I can't have my dental work that I desperately need done!

I am loosing some sort of fluid now. It is like my waters but there is only a TINY amount of it at a time? Might go and change my underwear now so I can keep track a bit. I can feel it come out (sort of) but my underwear isn't that wet? Def isn't wee.

surprisenumber3 · 12/04/2009 22:30

soon2be I had exactly the same as you when fiddling around for my cervix! can only just feel mine, it's nowhere near as easy to find as when I'm not pregnant so it must be much higher at the moment.

I have high BP (and even had pre-eclampsia) but have never had a nosebleed, I didn't realise the two were related but if you've never had one before, would it be worth asking someone about it?

mumblemumhome4lunch · 12/04/2009 22:37

Hello everyone - remember me

We have finally back in the land of the living with our internet restored and I can finally see just how many baby arrivals I missed !!

All very exciting, although I did feel guilty about que jumping when I noticed how many of you seem to be past your due date - sorry

Seems like Orson has been here for ages already, can't believe he was actually due today! He has been a bit slow on the feeding front - just a rather sleepy baby and going too long between feeds really. And I find it soo hard to wake him when he's sleeping so contentedly, he looks sooo cute. He's gaining weight but being a bit slow to get back to his birth weight......and I was out when the midwife came round on Friday as well so look like a really bad mother(took DD to get a birthday present for DS1 for like half an hour) - apparently the midwife was seriously miffed !!!

Quite happy to give a full account of the birth if anyone interested, not sure how much information first-timers want to have !!!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 12/04/2009 22:40

Mumble - yay nice to have you back!!! you know a full birth story is essential!!!!! tell us!!!

OP posts:
purlease · 12/04/2009 22:41

My waters didn't break until mid labour last time so no idea what to expect.

I was supposed to have a sweep on Friday (partly due to being overdue but also because of high blood pressure)but opted out of it as blood pressure was down and DD had also been late.

Still had to hang around hospital for 4 hours as doctors were called to an emergency - a baby delivered at 27 weeks - I think I would rather be overdue!

Anyway booked for induction on Tuesday unless something happens in the meantime.

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 12/04/2009 22:59

Hi everyone!

Just watched Titanic... have been blubbing like a baby for half an hour... so sad and beautiful!

No baby news yet - I've got the TENS machine on, timing the contractions but they're so irregular that this can't be it... some come every 20 mins, some come every hour, and last anything from 20 secs to a minute. Let's hope I can get a decent night's sleep tonight - i'll be needing it soon!

And YES to the birth stories please - we first timers need all the info we can get!

surprisenumber3 · 12/04/2009 23:06

Ah Kitty I love Titanic.

Help!! I just can't stop eating today. Have eaten so much junk food that even DH has noticed. He said I can't go two minutes without snacking!! I have terrible heartburn now but serves me right I suppose! This is the first time I have pigged like this, I really think I might have doubled my weight gain today!

SpringySponge · 12/04/2009 23:39

Firstly, congratulations to Rachel! Birthday buddy!

Sorry I've not been around much - I'm totally loved up & when I'm not having to be attached to George by the boob (most of the time) I'm choosing to be. Also, PIL came to visit earlier. MIL was actually civil, but made a couple of really bitchy comments - still, I can ignore those. At least she's giving me something to work with. Even if those things include 'what are you going to do when he goes back to uni?' & asking me how I am only to cut me off immediately to say 'oh look, he's stretching!' & then not bother giving me a chance to continue.

soon2befamilyof4 · 12/04/2009 23:49

Am I right in thinking that as long as waters are clear, I can ignore the slight leak and they can reseal themselves? It has only beeen a TINY bit and I am not 100% sure it was my waters anyway so don't want to make a big deal out of it.

My back is killing me tonight too . I haven't done anything particularly straining either. Oh well. Think I will take some painkillers and go to bed in a bit.

Sorry, must stop moaning!!!

Must go and get the moses basket tomorrow too.! STILL Haven't got round to picking it up from a friends house!!

SpringySponge · 13/04/2009 00:03

soon2be, it could just be discharge - but yeah, I think you can ignore it for the time being anyway if there's only a little bit. When are you next seeing your MW? You should perhaps mention it in case it's an infection of something making the discharge increase. Hopefully it is your waters & you're about to labour, though

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 13/04/2009 00:07

Kitty - goodness i havent seen titanic for ages, i would be a weepy mess lol

Purlease - good luck for tuesday!!! will be waving pom poms for you

Suprise - you must need it or you wouldnt be snacking! eat and be merry xx

Soon2Be - yes waters are clear and if its your hind waters they can reseal

Springy - awwwww so in love with george tis lovely not suprised though he's gorgeous!! xx ahh sod your MIL poor relegated sponge though

Electra- Huge Congratulations!!! xx

OP posts:
soon2befamilyof4 · 13/04/2009 00:30

I don't THINK it is discharge. It is completly clear and as runny as water and not at all sticky. Oh well. Just wait and see I guess!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 13/04/2009 00:31

Soon2Be - what does it smell like? if its sweet then tis possibly your waters

OP posts:
electra · 13/04/2009 00:32

soon2befamilyof4 · 13/04/2009 01:23

I can't smell anything from it - but I do have a cold so don't really know. There is such a tiny amount though, I don't see it being labour, even if it is a bit of water. I have just had a wii fit session to take my mind off things. I haven't used it since before i was pregnant. I have put on exactly 1 stone - is that a lot? That is in about 11 months? I wanted to weigh myself on there, mainly so I can monitor weight loss after baby is born! Did some minor activity on it. Mainly the free step while watching TV - I am hoping the movement will help baby engage.
