Whats this about feeling your own cervix? I think I missed something the other day when you were talking about it but it was the day I was quite about stuff in general - being hormonal and couldn't face going through all the pages to find it all. Have looked now but gave up trying to find it! How do you do it? Is it only useful during labour? I would have no idea what it feels like or what to do! If you can feel it yourself, does that mean that in effect, you could do a sweep sorta thing? Would that be safe?

I keep going from wanting baby here now so I have childcare (till 20th) and also means I can have my dental work done on 29 which will be cancelled if baby hasn't arrived and will have to wait, in pain till July as this is the only appointment they have. But on the other hand, if I went overdue, I would have more time to get house sorted and to sort out DDs sleep and generally mentally prepare.

Soon2Be - Mathsmummy is the cervix guru but from what I understand you can have a little feel and see how dilated / effaced you are... normally your cervix will feel like a doughnut with a tiny hole in the middle, when you're heading towards labour it'll start to thin out and open up. I couldn't find mine at all tonight - not sure what that means at all...

I know how you feel re baby!! I want mine now too because I'm soooo uncomfortable, and all this stop-starting is driving me bonkers... having said that, these are the last few days that DH and I get to spend together, just the two of us, and I'm enjoying them too... sigh, I'm really confused and hormonal right now...

Want an easter egg? I have Green & Black's butterscotch flavour... yum...

Happy Easter everyone! Just about to catch up. Typing one-handed whilst feeding, so may be a while xx

JuwEggsm · 12/04/2009 08:00

Hey Springy - you're up early ! How's iccle George?

Still no progress here. Some crampy lower back pains last night which I thought might develop into someting, but nothing now. They weren't at all 'timeable' really, and suspect they may have been to do with standing/ walking/ bouncing all day. Or possibly to do with LO playing at back-to-back. I'm not sure whether he's moved or not. I tried to stay on my left all night, with some success, but bump is just solid at the moment so I can't really tell.

Kitty - if you can feel head and no cervix, that must mean you are pretty effaced/ dilated, non? Go Kitty!!!

I am top of hatching list - I demand to go next!

Thanks for poms poms Marthasmama!

JuwEggsm · 12/04/2009 08:00

I think I am an irritable uterus.

SpringySponge · 12/04/2009 08:09

Ju, you have no idea how little sleep I've had recently DH is fast asleep in bed, because I gave up trying to keep George quiet last night & figured that one of us could rest, at least. & I'm the one with the boobs, so... In his defence, he's unaware that we're not there, I think. & his family are coming later so it'll be nice for him to have the energy to deal with them (especially as it'll mean that I don't really have to).

George is fine, though. Very cute when he's not screaming for no apparent reason. We're still getting to know each other, so it takes a while to figure out what he wants. Often it's that he's too cold - the boy is definitely made for sunnier climes than these.

Sorry to hear there's no progress for you yet. I really think that it'll just suddenly happen - I'm currently writing up my birth story which pretty much starts with me being 6-7cm dilated, so there's hope on the way

(I've not read anything else yet, so apologies to anyone for anything important I appear to be ignoring - I'll get there!)

JuwEggsm · 12/04/2009 08:09

My goodness. There are people who mop their kitchen floor every day!?!? Blimey!

brettgirl2 · 12/04/2009 08:25

Hi all - congrats to Rachel on your little boy.

How are you doing Ju? I've reached my due date today and am feeling incredibly pissed off, although I completely agree that you deserve to go next. The thing is that the way I see it is that I signed up for 40 weeks - I did not agree to unpaid overtime. I really don't know how I will cope with two more weeks if that's what happens. I'm being utterly horrible to everyone (especially DH) who is just being really nice to me!!!

It sounds like you're really doing well springy with your LO.

brettgirl2 · 12/04/2009 08:26

My cleaner mops my kitchen floor .

We are both so shite at housework/untidy it is the only way to avoid the place being a complete cesspit!

SpringySponge · 12/04/2009 08:31

I have baby sick in my cleavage - I'm officially a mummy

brettgirl2 · 12/04/2009 08:33

That's not a good look!

SpringySponge · 12/04/2009 08:36

Neither are the blood-stained jammie bottoms... I'm feeling like a right glamour puss right now, I can tell you

Schulte · 12/04/2009 08:49

Morning and Happy Easter everyone! And congratulations Rachel on little Clement - love the cow outfit! Well done for no tearing / grazing too!

Had another night of period pain and mild contractions - funny how it starts pretty much as soon as I lie down and then stops soon after breakfast I wish I could remember how long this went on for with DD but I can't. Have a feeling it was for a looooong time though.

So just waiting for DH to get up now so we can do a little Easter egg hunt with DD. Should be fun!

Right Springy where's that story then

Schulte · 12/04/2009 08:52

Oh and Brettgirl, happy due date day!

SpringySponge · 12/04/2009 09:21

Very long birth story here.

brettgirl2 · 12/04/2009 09:28

Thanks schulte, just wish it could be celebrated in the right way!

Great birth story springy.

PuzzleRocks · 12/04/2009 09:30

Good morning.

I have a Creme Egg easter egg and a Ferrero Rocher one. Who wants some?

Kalikaroo · 12/04/2009 09:34

Morning all and happy easter for those who celebrate it! Lovely to hear you and George are doing well Springy - will read your birth story in a mo'.

Still no joy at this end (literally speaking!!) , though I did have a big show last night and earlier this morning, so maybe something will happen soon? (Bloomin' heck, I hope so!). No contraction or anything though.

JuwEggsm, you must have patience of a saint!

Have now put my mobile on silent because I'm so fed up of people texting and phoning - someone actually texted me at 8.00 this morning!! Are they completely nuts???

DH is being very que sera sera about it all and not very sympathetic to my overdue suffering! Not surprised really since I've been a horrible whingy cow for the last couple of weeks...
