Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BoeuffinMum · 05/04/2009 11:54

I am feeling very wet. As I texted to Nutty, my fanjo is like a flipping rice paddy field.

I am also bored. I have read the whole of the Association of Radical Midwives' website, several research papers on membrane rupture before labour, dusted the living room, cleaned the kitchen and mopped the kitchen floor after a fashion, made scrambled eggs on toast for me and DH, cleaned my bathroom up a bit, made the kids' beds, and aired the house.

SpringySponge · 05/04/2009 11:57

My waters are intact & I've managed to eat cereal & wee a few times. That is all.

Do you have any instinctive feeling as to how long until it kicks off? How's your DH now?

BoeuffinMum · 05/04/2009 11:57

I am not sure how active to be from now on, given the SPD situation, tbh.

SpringySponge · 05/04/2009 11:59

I was thinking that maybe you should be resting? Considering how much strain your pelvis is about to be under...?

BoeuffinMum · 05/04/2009 11:59

DH is looking very perky actually and more his old self. I think we got off lightly there.

I think it's most impressive to eat a dodgy prawn, and then for your tummy to select it from the food filing system and reject it on an individual basis.

I think it might kick off this afternoon for some reason, But who knows?

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 05/04/2009 12:03

Yay for your DH's selective tummy

ITS AFTERNOON NOW!!!!!!!

re active, i dont really know what to suggest in one hand you want to move about to get things going on the other you cant really "walk" spd off so acive is a bit down the drain hard to know what to do for the best xx

it's funny i asked my MW the same question and she just shook her head solomnly and said "do you know what i really dont know how you will deal with it, best to go straight to hospital and get an epidural immediately in your case" LOL.

Nobody seems to know!! tis ridiculous!

is your MW there yet, hopefully she will have better advice xx

Nutty, I wish. I'm being such an awful bitch at the moment. I'm totally out of control hormonally. I've not been too bad for 8 months (in terms of grumpiness!) but the last few weeks... & the last couple of days especially have just been ridiculous. I can't even summon the enthusiasm to speak aloud. I just grunt & cry & stare blankly at DH like he's stupid, when it wouldn't be at all hard to smile along with whatever he's going on about.

On the plus side, you girls still make me smile Mostly because I'm not simmering with bitter resentment that you're able to swan around all happy with no pain or discomfort & an untouched body & no bomb ticking away in your uterus.

I like the idea of the food filing system - your DH is clearly an evolutionary step ahead of most of the rest of us, Boff

BoeuffinMum · 05/04/2009 12:11

Mw is not here yet - I thought she would be here an hour ago. Baby is very quiet so I would be grateful to hear the heartbeat.

BoeuffinMum · 05/04/2009 12:14

I have seen everything now. I want one of these!

Baby bath spa

SpringySponge · 05/04/2009 12:15

Babies do tend to go quiet just before labour though, don't they? I'm hardly the expert (& you've done this 3 times already!) but I'm fairly sure there's no need to worry?

Although obviously it's always nice to hear for certain that everything's okay.

SpringySponge · 05/04/2009 12:15

That is rather fabulous!

gingersarah · 05/04/2009 12:38

Hello!

Have been following the Boff story since 2.30 am - vaguely - with lots of sleep too.
Very pleased to hear from Barbarella!

Right off to learn some new songs with the uke... any requests?

WhatFreshEggIsThis · 05/04/2009 12:58

Go Boffin Mum, hooray for babies!

We went to the park yesterday and then to Waitrose to pick up some supplies. Waitrose on a Sat afternoon with toddler and new baby = not a good idea.

We did the scan your own shopping thing in Waitrose, managed not only to fail to scan the most expensive thing in the basket but also to leave a bag of Alpen in the middle of one of the aisles, abandoned like a tiny Swiss mountain.

We had scanned the Alpen, doesn't quite cover the cost of the other things, but it will go some way towards it. Am too to go back....

DS1 has gone to play with Grannie, Auntie and two cousins, and we are enjoying some peace and quiet with sleeping Orbit Buttonhole. Phew.

Orbit seems to have decided that between 10pm and 1am is play and continous feeding time. We're not sure we like this timetable. Ho hum.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 05/04/2009 13:07

OMG!!! look at that baby spa!! i want one adult one for me!!

Springy - ((hugs)) you're not alone in being moody i think we're all a bit of a time bomb bitch (in the nicest possible way!! obviously) at the moment xx

Boff - hope she gets there soon

WFH - ahhh dont worry about waitrose too much LOL at mini swiss mountain

PuzzleRocks · 05/04/2009 13:18

WFH - We regularly scatter blueberries in Waitrose. It's sort of a tradition.

I love the spa bath. I'm imagining the baby kicking back in there with a tiny champagne flute in hand.

PuzzleRocks · 05/04/2009 13:19

Boff has been gone for an hour.

BoeuffinMum · 05/04/2009 13:42

I am still here. Still wet. Have been seeing mw. Everything is fine, baby is completely engaged now, which is what probably happened with a clunk at 2am, causing the waters to break. He has gone quiet because there's nowhere for him to move, apparently, and because his environment has suddenly drained and this has probably freaked him out a bit.

Mw brought me a great prezzie of some Boots 'Stay Dry' pants which they recommend for waters situations and also for the immediate post partum period, as it's better than having a pad sliding around. I have some on as I type, and I must confess they really do hold a lot and leak less.

I share a lot with you girls, don't I?

BoeuffinMum · 05/04/2009 13:47

Oh my life.

DH has finally offered to shag me to speed things up.

I had to laugh. IT IS JUST A BIT TOO LATE NOW!!!!!! [bbgrin]

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 05/04/2009 13:51

Boffin at your dh LOL ah boff if the pants are good we're on a need to know basis xx
