Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
gingersarah · 02/04/2009 15:00

Reallytired - I am almost 38 weeks and haven't packed a bag. I am hoping for a hb but haven't got anything ready for that either. I am gradually pottering but I have to say feel no sense of urgency!

Boffin - I am mystified as to why your husband seems to be so protective of the ap. Why do you think it is - just general kindness / seeing-other-side-ness? I am very glad your son is not more badly hurt and maybe this will be a good learning experience for him?

Have applied for life assurance for me and DP now we have to be grown up and take care of lo. I answered hours' worth of health questions on the phone and was waiting for a result about whether we had been accepted or not, at what premium, and when I should pay. DP was vaguely aware of this going on, all in favour in principle but basically not really in on the details and letting me handle it. They phoned him to give him the health questionnaire on the phone but he also referred en passant to some other phone calls which I didn't qute get to the bottom of. Anyway it turns out that they have offered him the deal and asked him for his DD details - presumably because he is a Man! Being an easy going sort and just thinking that I was in control and had agreed all the terms, he gave them as well! I am not even sure we are getting the best deal. I am furious. I haven't signed anything anyway as my name is spelt wrongly on all the paperwork they have sent through - to him. GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRR

B52s · 02/04/2009 15:16

Thanks for the link Juw. Have looked there before and found no extra risks to birth or newborn. I will check to see if GP can do the checks - surgery is closer than hospital and they won't keep me waiting for hours. MW did say that the hospital births are now done in 3-6 hours though, so I suspect she was still trying to convince me to go in.

Ginger - your DP sounds like me - I'm a bit of a pushover until I think carefully about something. At least with DD you have that guarentee (sp?) whereby you can cancel it within a certain period. Shop around for your life assurance - it's a lot of arsing about but is worth it.

PuzzleRocks · 02/04/2009 15:25

No answers to my nightshirt question at the beginning of the thread? Don't make me go into the Mumsnet street!

AuldAlliance · 02/04/2009 15:31

I'd like to know about nightshirts, too, please.

Boff, your AP has gone a bit far, IMO. And your DH, for someone you describe as having a tendency to flap, is being remarkably laid back. If you explained to her how to do it, then there's no excuse for her not cycling the right way. But can you let her go right now as the baby is due?

Juwesm · 02/04/2009 15:31

Sorry Puzzle, no idea! How about an ancient t-shirt for labour, but get a nice soft button-down PJ top for snuggling and BFing afterwards?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/04/2009 15:52

Puzzle - having a look for you now

OP posts:
Juwesm · 02/04/2009 15:57

How many other threads come with a personal shopper? Nutty - you are brill

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/04/2009 16:02

Puzzle - is it an actual shirt you are looking?? for cos i have found bazillions of them just not a maternity nightwear type one??

if it is the actual shirt then do you want short or long sleves and was it red and black you wanted??

mathsmummy27 · 02/04/2009 16:04

okay - have a) bought larger more comfy car
b) fitted car seat base
c) practised clipping and unclipping car seat in base
d) got pushchair chassis down from loft and practised folding and unfolding
e) made sure said chassis fits in new boot (JUST - phew!)
f)just about got to grips with driving said new car ( I am the world's cr*ppest driver..)

Now to go outside and paint some pictures in the sun.....

I have a graph of babies born vs EDDs btw, willl post in a sec xx

checking in
no baby
busy sorting things with Dh who's using computer most of the time looking for jobs.

Will catch up with you later (I think DH needs a bike ride before I go insane with his nesting)

Hope you're all well x

mathsmummy27 · 02/04/2009 16:16

ooh hi Bleu! Thought you'd gone quiet...

Have a lovely afternoon

PuzzleRocks · 02/04/2009 16:18

Sorry I was playing Monopoly against the computer.

Nuts - Absolutely. I want something like a mans shirt that is comfy but covers my bum a bit and I can unbutton for first feed. Any colours other than white and perhaps lighter ones. Ta very much.

Juwesm · 02/04/2009 16:20

So almost 30% arrive on due date? Or is that within 'due week'?

PuzzleRocks · 02/04/2009 16:21

Ooh, I love the graph. Thanks MM.

BoffinMum · 02/04/2009 16:30

Hello again

Waiting for DH to come home to discuss bike thing further. Have bought DS1 a new bike helmet that is very cool looking, so he has a real incentive to wear it.

AP looking sad and contrite, like a puppy that has offended its master.

Well observed, Auld - DH is indeed a funny combination of scurrying in some contexts (not flapping, he doesn't flap, btw) and very tolerant and laid back, the latter being one of his charms, but he does seem to back APs up an awful lot. I get told off a lot for moaning about things she has done, and told how good she is . Makes me feel just great, that, like Polly Filla out of Private Eye. I do all the management of them and end up the wicked witch of the west. The big meanie.

MW came just now and agreed about helmet thing. She said she sacked one of her APs once for slapping her three-year-old across the face!!!! MW may be giving up private practice because credit cruch has hit so hard and I am their last booking.

Health is fine and SPD continues to improve. Have had two little walks without crutches! MW baby will be here in a week, not today.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/04/2009 16:42

many a lumberjack shirt

again here

sorry the above are all mens, i can fit into dh's shirts nicely and they cover my bum though so might be easier.

looking for other more female options....

Hello all, am going to go and catch up on the thread in a minute, but in the meantime, pics of the chunky boy are on my profile - he's had a bath today so is looking his best....

No name yet, might have to lurk on BabyNames threads for some inspiration.....

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/04/2009 16:51

gingersarah · 02/04/2009 16:52

PuzzleRocks · 02/04/2009 16:58

Nutty - You are a diamond, thanks very much.

WFH - He's adorable. He looks very alert already.

Schulte · 02/04/2009 17:02

WFH - congratulations, he's a cutie. Love the second photo!
