Throw it all away Bleu

Very therapeutic!

Do you have an attic where you could temporarily store stuff?

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 02/04/2009 20:05

Bleu - I have one word for you... EBAY.

Bleuravin · 02/04/2009 20:08

The attic is full already...
So much stuff... the thing is stuff is in good condition actually, it's just we've got so much... and people keep wanting to give me MORE babystuff! I cannot have anymore! I do not have the room!

Is it horrible of me not to want to give up my sewing and weaving and other crafting stuff? MIL implied that it was... Hurt my feelings rather alot. 'Must think of the baby and what space the baby needs' she said.
Nursery is FULL of baby stuff and then the extra futon/bed and 2 shelves with books on...KIDS books I might add, not grown up books...

Bleuravin · 02/04/2009 20:09

Could Ebay actually... but I'm a little uncertain about it...

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 02/04/2009 20:12

Ebay anything you haven't used in a year - that way you clear up much needed space for baby AND for your crafts...

and I'm at your MIL saying you should give up your hobbies!!! You don't dissolve into the background just cos you have a LO! How old fashioned...

Bleuravin · 02/04/2009 20:13

I've condensed all my crafting things down from filling one room to filling only half a room, I was really pleased... But MIL suggested the problems all lay in the fact that I have it in the actual spare room and so have no real room for anything because of all the clutter
Rather depressed about it actually...I have been thinking I've been a bit selfish...but DH has his bikes, which fill the garage, I thought I could keep the crafty bits...

Bleuravin · 02/04/2009 20:17

I could maybe ebay some shelves...I've been trying really hard to get things sorted so all the space is used really efficiently, but I'm struggling a bit... maybe I should get rid of some books...I do have an awful lot...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/04/2009 20:17

Bronze - you will be fine x

Bleu - ignore your MIL! rule number one! you need hobbies or you will go insane. charity shop or ebay the things you can and use the money for storage stuff/ shelves etc. garunteed the stuff in the attic will be forgotten about for years so have a big clearout.

OP posts:
Bleuravin · 02/04/2009 20:19

I think the other part of the problem is DH wants to keep 2 spare beds in the house...i'm not sure we truly have room for that. Might have to convince him we need to downsize...and since we're currently jobless the extra money could be helpful

PuzzleRocks · 02/04/2009 20:20

Not at all Lou. How are you this evening?

Bleu - You MUST NOT under any circumstances give up something you love so much. There's no need to and it was damn mean of MIL.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/04/2009 20:20

you need this in your life bleu i bet you could keep all your craft stuff in one handy place

trofast is the best!!

OP posts:
SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/04/2009 20:23

Bleu - like you said the books you have are mainly childrens so you may as well keep them cos you will only have to buy them again eventually!

Bleuravin · 02/04/2009 20:27

Nutty I have [http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10068122 this] with all my fabric/sewing and paper crafty bits on it. I've got my yarns/ threads on the highest shelves and a few other wall shelves we've put up over my little loom... Like I said I was really pleased to get it all in one place...AND I've not bought any new stuff in ages, trying to use up the things I have... BUT apparently some people think I've not done such a good job... hmmm not so easy for me to brush off in my hormonal state.

Bleuravin · 02/04/2009 20:27

meant this this link

lou031205 · 02/04/2009 20:28

Thanks puzzlerocks, I am ok, just itching to feel the twinges of labour. Not a patient patient, me.

Bleuravin · 02/04/2009 20:29

I think I will have another little chat with Dh and see if he's got some ideas... and maybe get rid of the things (as you ladies suggested)which haven't been used in a while.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/04/2009 20:30

there you go then, just ignore her.

OP posts:
PuzzleRocks · 02/04/2009 20:31

Me neither Lou, and especially not since my Mum has begun calling every day for updates.
There's bugger all to report.

PuzzleRocks · 02/04/2009 20:51

Nuts - Who is Oddeyes buddy?

mathsmummy27 · 02/04/2009 21:05

evening ladies am currently trying to persuade DH to persuade the baby out...

Problem is, my very amusing (noisy but not umpleasant-smelling) flatulence is apparently not helping...how dare he...

conkertree · 02/04/2009 21:10

me - i am - i'm oddeyes buddy. sorry have been catching up for the last hour or so - but unfortunately no news from oddeyes yet.

i have been checking my phone with bated breath all day - and nothing .

mathsmummy27 · 02/04/2009 21:17

come on OddEyes!

Seeing as my baby is staying put, time for some vicarious labouring....

and where is BB?

BoffinMum · 02/04/2009 21:19

It's a lot harder just having one than having lots, IME, Schulte, so I would go for eight as well if I were you.

Bleu. why not put the craft stuff in a self-storage unit for a couple of months while you get sorted out?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/04/2009 21:20

MM - Cheeky boy lol

for no word from oddeyes, maybe she's still in the throes of it all??

OP posts:
SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/04/2009 21:21

BB is probably putting up the walls in her bathroom!!!
