Here is another thread. Let?s hope it?s just not the tread that moves that fast - let the weeks fly!
I jsut have to work out how to link the old one now!

usigurke I too know a lot of women who have had a boy first - I'm not sure why. I guess it's coincidence but I hardly know anyone who has had a girl (first). Well, I'm not sure if the salt thing is true, or a bit of a myth, but people tend to say if you are craving salty things it is more likely to be a boy, and if you fancy sweet things esp fruit, then it's a girl. I expect there's not much truth in it, but you never know!! Ironically, two women at my work both had babies last year on 21st November (my due date!) AND they were both boys!

does anyone else get really cold, brrhh, esp 5-8pm??

funny ready some of the threads, like hearing myself.. i am only 8 weeks and already feel sick of being pregnant! its going sooo slow, i read my diary from last time and it was full of 'i love being pregnant' 'isn't it great i have no symptoms'..this must be payback...

BeckyBendyLegs · 06/04/2009 20:07

I've got two boys so would be delighted with a girl but then again I love the idea of my three little men! I just have a feeling though that I am bound to have all boys. I've had two MCs and I do wonder if they were girls perhaps. There is a theory that some people are only able to carry one gender full term. I don't know if it is true or not.

I'm craving salty things too and chocolate bleugh bleugh bleugh (great timing with Easter coming up, right!).

Belgiunbun so glad your one beanie is ok . You are just a couple of days behind me. I'm 7+5 today and counting.

weston I get the shivers too. I get them all day sometimes. I nearly put the heating on today.

Better go make some chilli and rice and I am sooo going to have half a pound of cheese on top! Yum. I can't eat enough cheese at the moment.

belgiumbun I'm so glad you said that about spitting into sink etc I am doing and if I don't I retch (sorry tmi)
great news about your 1 bean sorry about no.2 though

weston I am also getting the shivers, infact was wrapped in a blanet on the sofa until half an hour ago.

Infact I feel really rubbish this time around and I'm not enjoying it at all!

Joycey29 · 06/04/2009 21:02

I too could eat cheese forever. I even made dh go and make me some cheesen toast at 9.30 last night as really needed some!

LaraT · 06/04/2009 21:06

I am having a whole host of symptoms with this pregnancy that i didn't have last time, including shivering, extreme tiredness, bloatiness and generally feeling rubbish. However, i am suffering no MS, which was the only symptom i had last time!! weird!!

ninjacat my dd is nearly 8, so its been a while for me too. said i wasnt having any more, but i'm really happy about it now i've gotten over the shock lol

LaraT · 06/04/2009 21:10

And, although no MS, feeling very queasy at times. I wish people would stop cooking meat where i can smell it - I can smell steak frying downstairs, and i swear that no one cares how it makes me feel!!

ldeeanna · 06/04/2009 21:21

Hello!! I think im having a boy too! Just gut feeling-sure I heard once that gut instints with the gendre is usually right!! Kaster37 thats rubbish being locked out of your house-dont know about you but my temper is terrible at the moment and I would've been very upset! And feeling poorly too! At least you are in now! Give the bill to the stupid window fitters!!
I had a mad moment y'day-I've got a shop (clothes) and I was looking forward to shutting at 4.30 and at 4.20 one of our best customers came in and stayed trying on clothes till 6pm!!! I was soooo soooo hungry and tired-i honestly couldn't cope! And I knew dinner was waiting at home! After she went I was a witch-I just grabbed my dinner and scoffed-just couldnt be nice to poor boyfriend-especially when he was teasing me about its just my hormones! If Im ever moody he says-'Is it your pregnancy?' AAARRHH
Anyone else a moody old misery?!!

Tamlin · 06/04/2009 21:24

I'm due on the fifth of November - I didn't want to jump in until I was sure that this one was going to stick (I had a missed miscarriage at nearly ten weeks just before the New Year). Went for a scan on Friday after a bit of a fright, and everything was fine, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Lovely to see such a busy thread, but also a bit nervewracking - there were loads of women giving birth on the night I had DS (now 17 months) and you could hear the overworked and understaffed midwives audibly panicking in the corridors. REALLY hope that there won't be some sort of birthing bonanza in November!

scarlotti · 06/04/2009 21:35

Hi tamlin nice to see you on this thread too

Ideeanna am a right moody witch too so you're not alone!

Hope everyone else is doing well. Congrats on good scans/mw appts - sorry for not being more specific but I've read all the messages and then promptly forgotten them! Pregnancy brain!

As to the sex - I've had a girl then a boy. Knew with ds he was a boy and I think I thought dd was a girl (it was 15 years ago!!) - I think this one's a girl but that might just be wishful thinking! We'll find out at 20 weeks this time

pinkfizzle · 06/04/2009 21:37

Welcome Tamlin and all the other new joiners!

Such a busy thread, so will take some reading to catch up
I've been sick sick sick, no housework for me but very lucky that dh has been so supportive - I managed 3 hours up and about on Sunday and nearly created a pizza pavement - too much information i know!

Anyway I know I may be getting ahead of myself with nursery thoughts so I might need to call the pregnancy police but this funky nursery cheered me up - and easy to do and cheap - just get some tester paints and paint some circles!

pavlovthepregnantcat · 06/04/2009 21:46

Girl or boy? well, i have sweet cravings, fruit, lollipops, yoghurt, orange juice, squash. But i conceived on day of ovulation/day before ovulation, so how about that then??? .

I also heard severe ms can mean a girl - midwife said it is to do with body reacting to higher amounts of oestrogen in the body produced by a girl, side effects of too much oestrogen can be sickness. I had horrendous ms all through last pg and serious sweet tooth and had a girl!

pavlovthepregnantcat · 06/04/2009 21:47

sorry welcome all the newbies. Midwives are going to be very busy in november!!!

Tamlin · 06/04/2009 21:53

Ha, I heard that the androgens circulating during BOY pregnancies lead to excessive morning sickness. I had nasty hyperemesis with ds and just average vomity goodness with this one, so I'm wondering if it's a girl...

pavlovthepregnantcat · 06/04/2009 21:59

Tamlin - lol, severe ms, not quite as bad as hyperemesis with DD , guess it proves it is all a load of bollox to keep us entertained while we suffer?

Laugs · 06/04/2009 22:07

Just popping in to say, Iggypiggy, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and keeping everything crossed.

Hope everyone's well. I've eaten a load of chocolate AND cheese (must be boy-and-girl twins?) and am off to bed.

helips · 07/04/2009 07:22

Morning everyone and welcome Tamlin!

Well I had my scan yesterday and all is well, saw my little bean, heart beating and it's the right size for my dates. The sonographer even pointed out where the yolk sac was and the placenta, it was amazing! Am so excited now and can't stop looking at the picture

I don't mind if this one is a boy or girl. When I was pregnant with ds I craved sweet food and fruit but this time I crave savoury (although am still loving chocolate and cake!) I think there are so many old wives tales about cravings, bumpsize and shape and whether you have ms or not, still it's good fun speculating!

pinkfizzle · 07/04/2009 07:38

Let's hope it is not too testing of a tuesday for all those suffering MS.

Someone told me to consult a chinese horoscope chart - which says mine is a girl but it could be codswallup!

Belgian bun - I've just finished a session hugging my sink!

I am having vivid dreams - last night I dreamed that I had to make Rod Stewart redundant and told my DH and he has been singing - the first cut is the deepest all morning!

Great news helips - good stuff! I used to be a chocoholic but currently can not bear chocolate.

Iggy Piggy - I know everyone will be thinking of you today - take care.

tigger32 · 07/04/2009 08:24

Morning, just popping in to say I too will be thinking about you iggypiggy

cupofteaplease · 07/04/2009 08:32

Good luck iggypiggy thinking of you.

katster37 · 07/04/2009 08:35

IggyPiggy will be thinking of you today.

Helips and belgianbun great news about scans!! Wow, belgianbun can't believe you were having twins! Helips am jealous that you got a picture - I want one!

DH is finishing at lunchtime today and am meeting him at his work and we are going for a lovely lunch/nice walk this afternoon if it's sunny, then tomorrow we are going to Penzance until Monday. Have never been to Cornwall so feel free to tell me any tips! I can't wait - I am really looking forward to leaving London and breathing in some fresher air. Every time I go anywhere I feel like I need a gas mask at the minute, it really bothers me!

Ideanna yes I was quite hysterical on the phone to the locksmiths!! And poor you having to stay late when your dinner was ready. I can't cope if my stomach is empty, it makes me retch constantly, yuck.

Pinkfizzle love the nursery idea - v easy. Although I would probably manage to make a mess of it!

Right - hope symptoms not too bad today and everyone has a happy Tuesday.
