Here is another thread. Let?s hope it?s just not the tread that moves that fast - let the weeks fly!
I jsut have to work out how to link the old one now!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BeckyBendyLegs · 07/04/2009 08:39

Tamlin 'birthing bonanza in November' that'll be Valentine's Day lurrrvve for you. My DS1 was conceived on Valentine's Day six years ago and his due date was 4 November (he didn't meet the world until 16 Nov though).

This baby was conceived a couple of weeks after Valentine's Day as I had my AF on the day itself!

Do you know what we should do? Around 20 weeks all write down on a piece of paper what we think we might be having and then see if we are right or not at the end! It'd be interesting to see how many of us get it right!!! I thought DS1 was definitely a boy (no MS at all, bump totally up front, extreme indigestion). DS2 I wasn't so sure about but my bump was also up front and again indigestion but felt more sick. This time? Too early to tell but who knows?

My heart goes out to all of you feeling and being really sick. If men got pregnant the world would come to a halt.

katster37 · 07/04/2009 09:02

BeckyBL I thought that - it would be interesting to see if instinct actually bears any truth, wouldn't it?!
I just ate a big bowl of fruit and now I feel so sick I daren't leave the sofa. Thank goodness it's the Easter holidays!

iggypiggy · 07/04/2009 09:18

Thanks all - appointment isn't till 5.30pm - so today is going to drag! Will let you all know tho xx

lemontop · 07/04/2009 09:31

Morning all

Well my nausea seems to have finally stopped but I'm feeling v cold at night (have been sleeping in pjs, jumpers & socks!), still have yukky taste in my mouth and am so terribly constipated it's not funny If anyone has any miracle cures please let me know! I'm off to hunt out some prune juice today-the glamour!

Got my booking in appointment with the midwife tomorrow and will be ten weeks on Thursday. yay!

I'm worried about gaining a lot of weight as I'm quite large already so might head off to the gym today. I went on Saturday and found it quite relaxing. I'm paranoid the midwife is going to tell me off. .

Hope everyone's feeling ok

katster37 · 07/04/2009 09:36

Lemontop I think as long as you don't get so out of breath that you can't hold a conversation then you're OK. I quite like the idea of exercise but am so blinking knackered I don't think I could at the minute - going up the stairs makes me out of breath!
In fact I think I might have to go back to bed for an hour... Is that ridiculously lazy??

lemontop · 07/04/2009 09:50

katster sorry i meant she was going to tell me off for being overweight. the doc said exercise was really good for you as long as i didn't play rugby or go horseriding!

iggypiggy · 07/04/2009 09:55

Really lemontop? I go horseriding alot.. as have own horse.. I wonder if I shouldn't have

ursigurke · 07/04/2009 10:06

Morning all, had a long and busy day at work yesterday and went to bed with a terrible headache at 8pm. Luckily I found a colleague to take my shift today.
iggypiggy - good luck for today, I hope everything will be fine.
lemontop - I finally had time to look through my bridal magazines. Check out www.expectantbride.com, they seem to have a large collection and very different styles of maternity dresses.

pedalmonster · 07/04/2009 10:09

Morning All - yes Iggypiggy, you should really not be horse riding - or snow boarding / skiing / trampolining / scuba diving for that matter!

I have an early scan today too - 3.30 - and have been barely able to keep down anything all morning - since i woke up at 6.30.

can't stand any tight clothing, especially accross tummy, so here I am wearing these maternity trousers (with a hollow bump!).
Have been called in to a review with my boss at 11 - he is a real bully, have not told him about pg yet as waiting for HR lady to get back from her holiday, and I dont like to see him without HR around if possible. If he upsets me I shall have to vomit on him! Ha! That would be brilliant.

Ninjacat · 07/04/2009 10:09

Just back from my third early scan. The first suggested something in my ovary, the second located the egg sack in my uterus and today I'm pleased to say everything is as it should be for 7+1/2 weeks. Was lovely for us to see that little heart beat, I feel I can finally get on and enjoy this pg.

Just in case this is of any comfort to any of you I bled lightly for two weeks (4+5) then had another small bleed last week. There's been no explanation but it does prove that a shaky start doesn't always mean the worst.

Keeping my fingers crossed until week 12 but think you have to look on the positive side.

Hope you all enjoy the sunshine.

IggyPiggy will thinking of you this afternoon.

lemontop · 07/04/2009 10:18

iggypiggy No the doctor told me it's fine to do exercise you are already used to but should not take up anything new or too strenuous. It's more the risk of falling off and pulling ligaments when you're bigger

From NHS website

'You can continue to take part in most activities during the first trimester of your pregnancy (months 1-3) but you may need to stop vigorous exercise as your pregnancy continues.
Potentially dangerous activities
Due to the risk of serious injury caused by falling off, you should only continue horse riding during pregnancy if you are an experienced rider with a horse that you know and trust.'

Hope things go ok today. x

mangolassi · 07/04/2009 10:18

This thread is hilarious, there's about 10 million people on it. Have checked in a few times, but only have time to lurk - can't possibly keep up with everything.

I too can't eat enough cheese. Was eating loads of fruit and veg before I got pregnant, now I only want cheese and carbs.

Iggypiggy - clearly I'm not a doctor, but I think the important thing is not to take up new sports when you're pg - if you've always ridden horses a lot, your body's going to be used to the bumping around.

lemontop · 07/04/2009 10:20

ursigurke thank you! I'd found that website but lost it. They must have something that I can wear.

mangolassi · 07/04/2009 10:21

xpost with loads of people

iggypiggy · 07/04/2009 10:27

Thanks all - am just so worried is something I've done - sorry ignore me! Is ok - I haven't fallen off.

I got insane advice re: exercise when i went to the Nurse practitioner who refered me to the hosp. She basically had no idea - had to ask someone else and came back saying you can do whatever you like but don't do sit ups... I got more useful advice online!

pedalmonster · 07/04/2009 11:01

Sorry Iggypiggy - didn't mean to imply that you had put bean at risk!! It is the risk of falling that is the main reason you should not do these things, i'm sure your own horse does not throw you off routinely? Now, if I were to go horse riding, that would be another kettle of fish! (have never really got on with horses..they smell my fear!)

ursigurke · 07/04/2009 11:01

I just got my letter from the hospital. As I thought the appointment I will have in 10 days (last day of week 12) is only with the midwife and without scan. So I am really happy that I will have a private scan on Friday. Otherwise I would have needed to wait an other couple of weeks.

pedalmonster · 07/04/2009 11:10

well that was good planning, ursigurke , well done. I'm sure you will feel more at ease now knowing that you are getting your scan soon!

iggypiggy · 07/04/2009 11:12

I know pedalmonster - ignore me!

pedalmonster · 07/04/2009 12:15

well meeting with boss over - and i didnt have to vomit on him so that was good.

Sneaking out of the office shortly to go for scan - yikes! DH was meant to come with me but he can't get away from work this afternoon, sigh, but I guess I can cope by myself. (such a wimp).

BeckyBendyLegs · 07/04/2009 12:22

Wow you guys. I go off to Sainsbury's for a family trip out with the DSs and come back and there's hundreds more messages here! I had a wobbly moment at the check out and nearly opened the packet of cheese and took a big bite there and then (I didn't). Cheese is the only thing that helps me when I have one of those 'I feel really sick' moments.

BeckyBendyLegs · 07/04/2009 12:23

Glad you didn't vom on your boss pedalmonster! Good luck for your scan

katster37 · 07/04/2009 12:24

pedalmonster glad you didn't have to puke on your boss.... Good luck with scan!!

usigurke how ridiculous - does it say when the NHS scan will be? At least you are going in Austria, not that you should have to pay for that yourself.

IggyPiggy try not to panic about this afternoon. Easier said than done I know. I really hope it's all good news. And the horse riding won't have done a thing!

I went back to bed for two hours. Still feel sick, but was just lying in the dark praying I wouldn't throw up all over bed! I am such a wimp with actually being sick, I hate it so much. Meant to be meeting DH for lunch in half an hour - haven't even managed to get dressed yet! And this is with going to bed at 8 last night, and not really moving since then - god I am lazy!!

brightonbaby · 07/04/2009 12:35

Hi! I've been a bit quiet recently. I still don't have any real symptoms to complain of, so guess (hope) I am lucky there, but have had a stinking head cold and cough, so have been in bed a lot these last few days.

It's been great reading everyone's msgs. I'm sorry to hear some of the bad news. I hope everyone has all the support and love they need.

I've got a bit of a dilemma I'd like to ask what your opinions are, please. I moved back to the UK about three months ago and straightaway started looking for work. It's a pretty scary market out there at the moment! Then I found out I was pg and think I am about 7 weeks now. I'm still submitting job applications but feel very guilty about this now...like I'll be fooling/cheating any new employer. Am I right to feel so wrong? Am I right to carry on applying for jobs knowing I'm pg?

scarlotti · 07/04/2009 12:36

Wow, so many messages to catch up on!

Kaster hope you feel better soon. Have you thought of acupuncture again since we mentioned it? Only ask as it's an absolute godsend for me. I was so nauseous all the time, leaving work early and going home to bed. Now I get the odd pang if I'm not eating enough (which means almost constantly!) but nothing like it was before. I also find fizzy drinks help - the burping seems to relieve some of the pressure

iggypiggy good luck for this afternoon.

pedalmonster hope you feel less pukey soon.
