Ladies, it seems that we do not know when to stop!
Here is another thread. Let?s hope it?s just not the tread that moves that fast - let the weeks fly!
I jsut have to work out how to link the old one now!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
eeyore2 · 21/04/2009 22:27

oh - one quick question for all you experienced ladies. When did you start to need maternity clothes? It is my first pregnancy and I am looking forward to buying some new clothes soon, just wondering when people typically start to grow out of their jeans etc. I am 11+3 today and lost a bit of weight so far due to all the puking but imagine I will start putting on weight pretty soon.

LissyGlitter · 21/04/2009 22:46

eeyore I'm already in maternity jeans, I went into them last time at about 8 weeks, but only because i couldn't stand anything tight round my belly. Beofre I got pg this time I still had a baby belly so was sqeezing into my normal jeans anyway, so a relief to be able to relax in maternity clothes!

katster37 · 21/04/2009 23:04

Hey everyone
Just back from meeting a friend - my latest night in weeks! Will catch up properly tomorrow but wanted to say good luck cupoftea tomorrow xxx

BeckyBendyLegs · 22/04/2009 08:15

Morning all!

DS2 starts nursery today so I am feeling all emotional and strange at the moment. My little baby I will miss him so much. I know it is only 2 1/2 hours a day but still... the house will be soooo quiet without him in it this morning.

I will be thinking of you today cupoftea. The best of luck to you.

The Apprentice is on tonight and each week that marks my weeks in pregnancy: ten weeks today! Yeah!

Ninjacat · 22/04/2009 08:31

Cupoftea Thinking of you today.

BBLegs I'm glad our dates go by last period and not conception or I'd never be able to look at Alan Sugar in the same way.

turtle23 · 22/04/2009 08:34

cupoftea- good luck today, will be thinking of you.

scarlotti · 22/04/2009 08:34

Cupoftea and belgianbun good luck with your scans today (belgianbun I think it was you but I've had to go to the next page and now forgotten!!)

Becky hope your ds has a great time at nursery and you manage to cope without him there

eeyore if this is your first pg and you're still in your clothes comfortably now, then it might well be another 10 weeks before you need maternity stuff. I've bought some belly belts - basically strips of elastic with buttons and a button hole on. You use your normal jeans etc. and just use the elastic to give you extra waist circumference. Nice thing is that they then still fit ok around the bum and legs, so you don't feel like you're in baggy stuff and just fat. Works for me.

at the head who told you off for sleeping on a break!

My nausea seems to have made a reappearance but now in the evening, strange.

eeyore2 · 22/04/2009 08:54

Hi everyone, good luck for all the scans!! Scarlotti, thanks so much for the clothes advice, that is really helpful. I wanted to tell you the most bizarre comment we received when telling our friends about the pregnancy - "can they tell on the scans whether it will be ginger?" (DH is a redhead). Ninjacat - I have never heard of an early pregnancy class, let us know what you learn if you go along! Easyeggs, I can't believe you delivered your baby yourself! Wow! Must have been scary but what a story.

Laugs · 22/04/2009 09:18

Becky I'm sure your DS will love nursery. It's hard though, isn't it? Mine started when she was 2 and never looked back. It was much more difficult for me! If you haven't got work to do today though, it's 2.5 hours of rest that I'm sure you can do with!

eeyore With my first pregnancy I didn't really fit maternity clothes until around 6 months, although my normal clothes became too tight from probably about 12 weeks-ish.
Fo me the indispensible items for those few months were: bump bands (which you wear under your normal tops, to cover the gap as they ride up over your tummy), maternity jeans with adjustable buttons (I bought maternity trousers with stretch panels but these were too big for ages, I only really needed the extra button-size on the jeans), and a couple of jersey wrap dresses in my normal size.

Laugs · 22/04/2009 09:20

cupoftea, will be thinking of you today x

pavlovthepregnantcat · 22/04/2009 09:30

Just popping in quickly to say good luck cupoftea and anyone else with scans today x

ursigurke · 22/04/2009 09:37

cupoftea - good luck for today! I am really hoping for you that everything will be fine.
Good luck to anybody else with a scan today.
Becky - poor you, just try to take a rest as Laugs suggested.

BeckyBendyLegs · 22/04/2009 09:37

I've just got home and DS2 is not here The house is horrible without him!!! I do have work to do though so better get on with it and next thing I know it'll be time to get him hopefully. I know he'll have a great time as he was so excited this morning but I will miss him hugely.

As for maternity clothes: I lived in my maternity jeans from Top Shop and random empire style tops which were very fashionable when I was pregnant last time. I didn't need maternity clothes until about 5 months though. I just wore bigger clothes, the next size up, until then.

Laugs · 22/04/2009 09:55

Becky I remember that feeling exactly! I think I cried because I went to shut the stairgate at the top of the stairs and then realised it was only me here and I didn't have to. Work is a good distraction though. Speaking of which, I really need to get on myself as have a deadline today and still can't motivate myself at all.

See you all later - hope all the scans go well x

sleeplessinthecity · 22/04/2009 10:37

ooooh can't wait to hear all the news..Hope all the scans go well today...everything crosses for all..

Maternity clothes, I remember being so excited last time too..I started about 5 months as i lost weight due to the throwing up..H&M and Gap were excellent. They are all waiting for me downstairs in the basement...sigh..I did like the empire cut tops tho..they hide a multitude of sins even post pregnancy.

Nursery is harder for mummies then the little ones. Hang in there and enjoy the time off. It's excellent for them.

Anyone having erotic dreams?? having loads every night!! very vivid too.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Munchies37 · 22/04/2009 10:57

cupoftea hope your scan goes well for you today - will be thinking of you.

sleepless I've had one erotic dream and the alarm went off at just the wrong moment... was very annoyed! Last night I kept dreaming about my scan as I've got it tomorrow and I think it's playing on my mind a bit - keep going excited/nervous/excited... XX

helips · 22/04/2009 13:02

Good luck with your scan cupoftea, we are all thinking of you.

I am already in my maternity jeans but when I was pregnant with ds I didn't start wearing them till I was about 4 months. Think I'm going to be huge this time round!

I had a cs with ds but am still hoping for a home vbac. I'm using independant midwives who are experienced with this so hopefully this time I will get my homebirth! They did say that because my body has been in labour before it will know what to do so hopefully this one will be quicker. I was in labour for 38 hours with ds before having the cs!

Ive just eaten my lunch and i'm still starving, think I might have to raid ds' easter egg!!

Hope everyone has a fun day in the sun!

BeckyBendyLegs · 22/04/2009 13:10

Helips I've just had a chunk of DS2's Easter Egg! They have so many eggs to eat that it'll be Christmas before they finish without my help...at least that's how I justify it! I have been massively off chocolate but just now fancied a bit.

Not much sun here at the moment. It looks a bit cloudy.

tigger32 · 22/04/2009 13:24

Hi all, just popping in to say I've been for my scan and am pleased to say I have 1 healthy baby bouncy around in there

cupoftea hope it is good news for you today too, I've thinking about you.

Good luck to everyone else having scans today

cupofteaplease · 22/04/2009 13:40

Hi all- last post from me. My baby was curled up in the corner, no bigger than last week, fast asleep.

I began bleeding on Monday night, not a lot but spotting brown blood when I go to the loo, so the doctor thinks I will pass the baby naturally over the weekend. I have a scan on Monday to check progress.

Thanks again for all the support. I doubt I will post on this thread again as it's just a little bit too hard at the moment. But please know that I wish you all the very best of luck.

I will let you know if I manage to get to 12 weeks before November- that's my next goal

katster37 · 22/04/2009 13:46

Cupoftea I am so sorry. It has been a long and emotional rollercoaster for you, hasn't it? I am sure you will get to 12 weeks before Nov and it would be great if you could come on and let us know how you are getting on, once you feel ready to do so. Best wishes.

brightonbaby · 22/04/2009 14:17

I'm so, so sorry cupoftea. I really feel for you. Take care of yourself.

Tabbykat · 22/04/2009 14:34

cupoftea - so sorry to hear your news. Please take care of yourself and hope you are back around soon, x

Sleepless I too am having v vivid dreams - lovely one the other night with the guy from The Mentalist - until DH woke me up snoring - grrrr

EasyEggs - I am v local to Pembury - about 5 mins away! Shame the new one not built in time - apparently everyone will have their own room.....! Are you near?

Hope everyone well and enjoying the lovely sunshine, x

EasyEggs · 22/04/2009 14:34
