Ladies, it seems that we do not know when to stop!
Here is another thread. Let?s hope it?s just not the tread that moves that fast - let the weeks fly!
I jsut have to work out how to link the old one now!

Hello - could I add myself to this list? Just found out we are pg with number 3 (huge shock). Have DD age 4 and DS age 2 so am hovering between panic & denial at the mo.

Also we are living in the US at the moment until July and they are making a huge fuss about my 'advanced maternal age' (I'm 35) and have referred me to a specialist in miscarriage and birth defects already so am now terrified. Due date is November 15th all being well.

A bit sick and extremely grumpy, agree with the poster that said it would be better to just throw up & be done with it rather than stupid queasy feeling all day!

Gizboss · 15/04/2009 17:34

Hello,
I'm due on the 4th November so am supposedly entering 12th week now. It's my first pregnancy and I'm petrified. Have been very sick so am looking forward to the second trimester!
Gizboss

pedalmonster · 15/04/2009 17:39

Welcome deathbydora, I will add you on to the evergrowing list. I would not panic too much about your "advanced maternal age" I am 39 and I'm pretty sure there are a bunch of us over 35

Please can I jsut confirm to those who are just "feeling" sick and not actually "being sick" that you are on a false promise - the "being sick" does not actually mean that you feel less sick - it just means that you throw up and STILL feel sick. TMI warning: ant then you have nothing left to throw up so you just retch and retch until your eye lids get little blood vessel spots from straining. But yes, you still feel sick.

may I also jsut ask if my DH is the only one who thinks that "sore boobs and not for touching" is an invitation to grope randomly at will? Sorry for the grumpy post but I have not had a great day

Laugs · 15/04/2009 17:54

Hi DeathbyDora and Gizboss welcome to the thread. Things move quickly around here!

Dora, that's just the way they are in the US isn't it? At least you are being well looked after. Whereabouts in US are you? FWIW I had DD at 25 and didn't meet anyone who wasn't in their 30s, so I'd say that's a pretty average age. I know I felt like I was really underage!

Gizbos, don't be petrified. Things should start looking up in your second trimester. Soon you'll be blooming!

pedalmonster my DH finds it highly amusing to tweak my nipples and hear me roar! [angry}

BTW pavlov where abouts are you - we are looking for a reliable estimate for loft conversion too!

pavlovthepregnantcat · 15/04/2009 18:13

we are in Plymouth and can't seem to get one for less than £20k .

tiddelypom · 15/04/2009 18:37

Can I join in too? I think I'm due the 9th November, but this is to be confirmed! This is pregnancy number 2, we have a DD of 14 months who is a being a bit of a handful at the moment. We live in France and I'm finding the wait until the scan unending - its not until the 5th May!

BeckyBendyLegs · 15/04/2009 18:55

Hello! Welcome all your international newbies! I am 'maternally challenged' to or whatever the phrase is, as I am 37. I think there are quite a few of us oldies here.

We've had a lovely afternoon digging on the beach. Bliss. I love the great British seaside. It is bloody cold and windy though!

BeckyBendyLegs · 15/04/2009 18:56

That is 'too'. You can't tell that I work in book publishing so ergo should be able to spell.

HomeintheSun · 15/04/2009 19:03

Hi all,

Cupoftea my fingers are crossed and I really hope your bean clings on with all his/her might.

I've done nothing really all day and I still fell drained, DS threw a massive tantrum in a diy shop cause I wouldn't buy him chocolate, he was on the floor screaming the lot, if I wasn't so used to it I'd be embarrassed.

CassORole · 15/04/2009 19:06

Hey there,
Can you add me to 11th Nov please?

ooh just read your news, every so sorry to read that. Thinking of you.
x

pavlovthepregnantcat · 15/04/2009 19:19

Anyone else feeling completely angsty at everything? I have had a day from hell, crabby, snappy, I just want to be left the hell alone, I just want to tell everyone to fuck off go away. I have in fact pretty much done that. DH has just said, so what you mean is 'go away until food is ready then I can disturb you again?' you got it!

I feel like I want to kick something, have a pounding headache and feel sick. I don't really want anything and that is pissing DH off. As he has to eat on his own. Again. He is sick of it, I am sick of it.

Oh and I have a scan tomorrow to check all is ok, first thing in the morning. Maybe that is not helping, but it feels more like an out of control rage brewing!

becks130 · 15/04/2009 19:55

pavlovthepregnantcat you are not alone, I felt like that ALL weekend! At one point I locked myself in the bedroom and only let DH in when he had food for me! Apparently I was like this when pregnant with ds

pavlovthepregnantcat · 15/04/2009 19:58

becks glad it is not just me! DH came in with a chip butty, and said not one word. I asked if he was not speaking to me, and he said he did not dare . I wolfed down the fab chip butty and told him it was delicious, he is a tad happier now. He then told our cat she was sitting in a dangerous place (at the end of the bed) and it would be wise to move if she did not want to be in the firing line for breathing wrong!!!!!

HomeintheSun · 15/04/2009 20:16

pavlovthepregnantcat That's pregnancy for you, I was like that, my DH said to me that we didn't need to do a test he knew I was pregnant just by my foul mood cause it was way worse that just pmt, maybe we should design something for pregnant women to kick the crap out of when we feel like that.

scarlotti · 15/04/2009 21:39

pavlov ditto here, have been in a foul mood off and on over the last few weeks although I am now starting to see a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Think the placenta takes over hormone production around the 12 week mark and then the rages subside (or at least I bloody hope so!) Up until then your body produces them but not in the right amount

We've had 2 loft conversions done within the last 3 years so I know a fair bit about them! Feel free to ask any questions

For me, the nausea is easing but being replaced with a dry heartburn sort of feeling. Nice. Not.

scarlotti · 15/04/2009 21:40

Oops, sorry, forgot to say welcome to the newbies

LaraT · 15/04/2009 21:55

I have been reliably informed ( both by my mother and several people at work) that my lovely nature is significantly less lovely than usual. One woman at work actually said to me that she was just going to stay out of my way on saturday as i was clearly not in a good mood!
Might have had something to do with the fact that she was trying to clean everything with white vinegar and the smell was making me retch!!!
How can i be happy about that??

pinkfizzle · 15/04/2009 23:00

Cup of Tea - Wow!

What a difference a day makes.

I don't know who said that miracles are not contrary to nature, but only contrary to what we know about nature.

Hoping that your miracle bean continues to grow and has a heart beat that stays strong. Rest up and my thoughts are with you and your DH.

Welcomes to all the newbies. What an international bunch we have on this fast moving scan.
I'm over 35 too.

p.s scan for me turned out aok.

turtle23 · 16/04/2009 07:20

Goodness, what a lot to catch up on!
cupoftea- Fantastic news!! You must be in such astate of shock. I hope that you are being looked after as it sometimes takes a while for the shock to set in when you've had bad news and then good!
I am finally home from a marathon birth...I won't tell you all about it except to say that it was a lovely baby girl called Lilah and that I am defo not having an epidural next time.

Laugs · 16/04/2009 09:15

Ooh turtle you can't tease us like that. I keep wondering whether I should have an epidural this time actually, so maybe you've put me off.

pavlov hope your scan goes well. That is probably making you feel worse as it's a stressful time. Hopefully by this afternoon you will be on top of the world!

cupoftea make sure you're getting loads of rest and relaxation. Do ou work or at you at home with DC? If you're at home, embrace the power of CBeebies for a few days and put your feet up.

Was it you who's DD was really sweet when you were sick? Last night my MS was back with a vengeance and as I was leaning over the toilet DD's little head was between me and the toilet, looking up at me and taking it all in! I told her it might be more helpful if she stroked my hair, so she obliged.

Laugs · 16/04/2009 09:21

Oh, meant to ask, is anyone actually managing to eat healthily? I'm not too bad during the day, but by the evening I just can't face cooking and DH gets back a bit late to cook.

We've been eating loads of crap - pizza, fish fingers, basically anything I can fling from freezer to oven without having any involvement. I do probably still get 5 fruit and veg a day, so hopefully I'm not doing any damage.

Every day I tell myself I am going to cook something proper but then every day I can't bring myself to. I did cook a big roast on Sunday, which took me 2 hours, and then I was sick ten minutes after eating it! I haven't even been to the supermarket for 2 weeks - can't face that either.

barnowl · 16/04/2009 09:22

Just catching up with the chat.

cupoftea-What a time you're having, hope things continue to be positive after all the up's and downs, thinking of you.

I am so glad it's been the holidays this week and I have my scan tommorrow it is getting almost impossible to hide my bump especially in the evening when I'm so bloated. So long as things are ok at the scan I should be able to start telling.
