Iggypiggy I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. Take good care of yourself and make sure everyone around you takes good care of you too. Hugs. XX

Fruitpastels · 08/04/2009 09:27

All the best iggypiggy

lemontop · 08/04/2009 10:03

Last night I had a tiny tiny bit of spotting again that was browny/pink (sorry if tmi). I had convinced myself that it was bad news but it's totally stopped now. I've got my appointment with my midwife today so will ask her what she thinks. Fingers crossed.

I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and I had a scan at 7+4 which showed a very healthy baby with strong heartbeat but my 12 week scan's not till 27th which seems like forever.

ButtercupWafflehead · 08/04/2009 10:34

Iggypiggy I am sorry to hear your news, and send you best wishes for the future,

Well Monday night I started to bleed, so had a scan yesterday and they found a perfect wriggly bean, no apparent reason for the bleed and the right size etc for dates.

We have kept our date for 12wk scan anyway and hope all will be well - will start to tell people after that assuming everything's still going well.

It was nice to see the scan! I felt strangely proud,

To those who are eating cheese - earrrughgh! I'm not really sick, but still all I want is nice plain things like cadbury's cream eggs cereal.

scarlotti · 08/04/2009 10:53

Fattipuffs I had continual nausea and have had acupuncture - it's worked a treat as it's pretty much gone. Mine was literally from morning to night but I really do feel so much better now. Might be worth a shot.

tigger sorry to hear about your friends mum. Am sure if you're just there for her (crying or not) that will be what she needs.

lemontop to be honest it sounds fine. Could be cervical erosion maybe but doesn't sound anything to worry about. At least you can ask your midwife and get reassured.

buttercup great news on your scan

helips · 08/04/2009 14:01

tigger that's very sad about your friends mum. Go and see her and give her a big hug, I'm sure she won't mind your tears and you can have a big cry together.

lemontop hope everything is ok, sure it is if your scan showed a healthy bean, a friend of mine had several big bleeds but still had a lovely healthy baby.

Congrats on the scan buttercup

Well after 9 weeks of no ms I finally started feeling very queasy yesterday! feel a bit better today but hope this is not a taster of things to come!

Am definately going to have to dig my maternity jeans out as this morning I put on my jeans and couldn't do the button up! I am holding it together with a hair band until dh gets home when I can send him up in the loft to retrieve my old clothes!

southernbelle77 · 08/04/2009 14:24

tigger sorry to hear about your friends mum. I'm sure she would like you there, crying or not. I know when my mum passed away it was comforting to have my friends around.

I had a really vivid and strange dream last night. It started off with my going to see my dad but my mum answering the door (she passed away almost 5 years ago, when dd was born) and her being very real (made a cat sit on her to make sure she wasn't a ghost ) but then it went on to me having another mc. Woke up and it felt VERY real, was horrible . Keep telling myself it's fine as I also had a dream that I was having twins but my scan showed only one!

Flumpity · 08/04/2009 14:33

Sorry aabout the me me me post but a bit in shock. 7 week scan revealed momo or mcma identical twins. Now adjusting to having the highest risk pregnancy type going. The babies are in one sac as well as sharing a placenta like most Identical twins, but it means their cords get tangled up which brings high risk of sudden fetal death. Best case is intensive monitoring fro 24 weeks if you get there and then c sec at 32 weeks. Trying to be positive - 80% of momo twins are fine with the correct monitoring by that means 20% die in the womb, and all end up in nicu because they have to deliver prematurely. So all in all quite a shock and lots to deal with. Just needed to let you know.

Tabbykat · 08/04/2009 14:38

Sorry to hear your sad news Iggypiggy and Tigger - hope you are both feeling better soon.

Starting to feel less sick, which is good, but have already had to go into a pair of maternity trousers as can only get in one pair of jeans at the mo.

V stressed with work as well - have had the dreaded call Southernbelle77 ! eek! and am getting a visit next Wednesday - typical as have only one part-timer for 2 days next week and was looking forward to a bit of time off......

Hope everyone else well,x

cupofteaplease · 08/04/2009 14:44

Wow Flumpity- what a shock. 80% is good odds though. Have the midwives/doctors given you lots of information?

I got my scan date through this morning- 5th May, which according to my MW's dates will make me 14 weeks. Not very happy because that seems late, and also, they've booked me in for a nuchal despite telling them that I do not want a nuchal scan. For this reason, my MW thought I'd be booked in earlier for my dating scan. Thankfully I've booked my follow-up reassurance scan privately for Tuesday as I could not wait until 5th May after my scan last week gave me very different dates.

Told a pregnant friend today, but swore her to secrecy- was lovely to be able to talk about it. I'm feeling quite ill today- really nauseous and exhausted. I really feel like I need a sleep, but obviously I can't. I've been out all day so far and have hours left til the girls' bedtime- argh!

scarlotti · 08/04/2009 14:45

Flumpity heavens, what news to digest. I hope you're ok and managing to come to terms with the added considerations your pregnancy will now bring. The odds are good for you and the advances in medical science in this country will mean you will get plenty of monitoring and care, so the best chance for you and your babies.
Hang in there

lemontop · 08/04/2009 14:54

flumpity wow what a shock. the odds are well in your favour but obviously it's going to involve a lot of monitoring.

I've had a bit of a morning. Went for my booking in appointment with midwife. First I was told that she was running 45mins late, which was no problem but then the receptionist came to see me to say the midwife wouldn't have time to see me and she'd ring me this afternoon or tomorrow. I explained I wanted to see someone as had had some bleeding. The receptionist proceeded to shout 'BLEEDING, OH HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BLEEDING' so I had a reception full of heavily pregnant women all staring at me.

They gave me an appointment with the doc who wrote me a referral form to the EPU at Mayday for a scan. I'm not sure if I have to ring the hospital or they have to ring me. I asked about my booking in appointment and they said 'oh maybe you can ring us after you've been to the hospital to make another appointment'.

I'm so annoyed as this will probably mean taking a day off work. My GP made my midwife appointment over 5 weeks ago. All I wanted to do was see the midwife at my allotted time and get a bit of reassuranc about the spotting. grrrrr

southernbelle77 · 08/04/2009 16:11

flumpity That is some news to digest isn't it. Hopefully with all the monitoring everything will work out ok for you.

Tabbykat - oh no, poor you! I know we all have to go through it, but it's still stressful isn't it! I haven't got mine due until next August so hoping to get everything up to date while on maternity leave!!! I know I should already be up to date and all, but well, since EYFS I've got really got my act together too well . Good luck with it all and I am sure it will go well.

Is anyone else suffering from lack of patience?! I've not been too bad (well, dh might disagree) but today it feels like I am at the end of my tehter! I've had children arguing for no reason, three toilet accidents (by one child) and just toys and mess everywhere! I've not lost it (yet ) but could do with hiding under the duvet!!!

southernbelle77 · 08/04/2009 16:13

And I can't spell either!! tether not tehter !!

ldeeanna · 08/04/2009 16:15

So sorry iggypiggy wishing you all the best xx
Thats terrible Tigger32 im sure she wouldn't mind tears -might make it easier for her to let it out.

Got my scan date through today 5/05/09 im scared but excited. Got to remember to bring coins for the photograph-cannot forget!27 days to go! This whole thing has just been me counting down-its really bad because it is wishing your life away and a time that should be special-but i just want to get to 12 weeks and be ok!!
Furious last night, DP woke me up at 2am to tell me he cant sleep!!! So I couldn't either-selfish!! He put the TV on-in the bedroom and fell asleep!! and I was still awake at 4am!! And today he furious that I AM TIRED and not working as well!! grrrr!!
Hope everyone else is ok?!!

ldeeanna · 08/04/2009 17:30

Scarlotti Thank you! 4 months-my goodness-I thought maybe 2 weeks!!! My partner is going to go ape! Oh good anyway!! he can use my MA to get a part timer in my place! oh ive just told him and he's furious! W**er!! Excuse my language-sometimes it is necessary!!
Flumpity Terrible Twins!!! Exciting-did you suspect?!!!

ursigurke · 08/04/2009 18:00

Flumpity - try to focus on the 80%. I really hope you and both your babies will be fine.

helips · 08/04/2009 18:10

flumpity wow that is some news, like the others said you will be well monitored so try to think positively. Gosh twins, how exciting!

I too am lacking in patience, poor dh has felt my wrath on a number of occasions!

Booked my 12 week scan for the 1st May, seems ages away but at least I have 1 scan picture to keep me going till then!

beckynbump · 08/04/2009 18:17

Thought I would update me on here as I had my 12 week scan today. 11 weeks exactly as I suspected and thankfully only 1 wriggly one in there. Big smiles all round

[Flumpity] do all you can to stay positive after all the glass is 3/4 full

scarlotti · 08/04/2009 19:14

Ideeanna 2 weeks?!?! Are you planning to bf? If so, it will take a good 4 weeks to establish a decent routine that will give you more than 2 hours without feeding. Hopefully your dp will get used to the idea over the next 7 months!!

BeckyBendyLegs · 08/04/2009 20:11

Ideeanna two weeks is very ambitious. I think your DP needs a reality check and needs to visit someone who has just had a new baby and then he'll see how it is and be a bit more sympathetic. I didn't even leave the house with DS1 on my own for three weeks except down the local shops or for a walk around the block! I think it is only high-earning lawyers who take two weeks off work (DH works for a law firm so I know this to be true!).

Laugs · 08/04/2009 20:39

I thought there was a minimum you had to take off - 6 weeks or something. Or did I just make that up?

Your DP would probably find it easier to employ someone part-time for a bit longer anyway.

HomeintheSun · 08/04/2009 20:41

Hi all,
Iggypiggy I'm so sorry to hear your sad news, sending you and your OH hugs and kisses, look after yourself and take all the help offered.
scarlotti my DS is 2.4 months and today has been a moaner, from the moment he got up until he thankfully went to bed and I've been really narky all day.
Joyce29 when I was expecting DS I found out at about 35 weeks that DH had been posted to another country, I had written to work saying I intended to return to work after my maternity leave, I called the personnel dept at our head office and was told I'd get a letter about maternity pay and that I shouldn't sign it or send it back cause if I did and then didn't go back to work then my work would ask for some of the money back, you might want to check this out with the CAB cause you don't wanna be out of pocket.
I'm 10 weeks today, I remember at 10 weeks with DS I was up in the night having to pee every few hours but I haven't got that this time do you think it's a bad sign, and I have a horrible taste in my mouth that I can't get rid of and it's been there for weeks, ms (in the evening) wasn't as bad today. I hope everything is ok with everyone, oh and I too have started wearing maternity trousers, my jeans were really uncomfy about a weeks ago, with DS I wasn't into maternity clothes until at least 4 months.

travellinglight · 08/04/2009 21:01

I'm afraid I'm taking myself off the list. Had a miscarriage over last few days. Particularly hard because we'd had a scan at 7 weeks which showed heartbeat and normal development so we were hopeful all would be well. Coming to terms with it gradually and expecting to feel sad for a while.

Sorry to bring bad news. Good luck to all of you.
