BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 09:43

Mine either!!!

She is NOT my mw but we do hate her and her stupid mw friends in that skanky hospital.

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 09:43

Biatches!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 09:45

Juw - ahh fab ok i have solpadol (codine and paracetamol in one tablet) so will take that today then. i take the morphine at 8 and 12 so will that still be ok??

OP posts:
Juwesm · 01/04/2009 09:45

My groinular/ pelvis area is very achey - like I've tried to do the splits but couldn't quite manage it . I thought it was to do with sitting on ball too much, but I suppose actually it is the pressure of the head engaging?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 09:48

Juw - sounds like it keep bouncing!!

OP posts:
BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 09:49

I want an easter egg....

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 09:49

8pm and 12 midnight?

So do Solpadol at something like 0600, 1200, 1600
Paracetamol plus morph at 2000
Morph at 2400

As long as you have at least a 4 hour gap between your codeine/ paracetamol doses.

So today maybe Solpadol 1000, 1400, 1800
Paracetamol 2200
Morph 2000 2400

Whatever floats your boat really! I only tend to think in terms of times like that because of administration times on hospital drug charts! Codeine ideally after food, so possibly that second regime better, but leaves you a bit short in the early AM!

AuldAlliance · 01/04/2009 09:50

BB, sorry to hear about the rubbish treatment you had. I can imagine how frustrated you must be.

I don't know if DH's cunning plan is one, but it sounds quite good.
It involves our settling 20 mins North of here, where this lovely stuff is made. It's a nice town, definitely not Marseille, with an international school opening for the kids of all the foreign engineers coming to work on the big thermonuclear fusion project, where I could maybe wangle a place for DS in the future. Professionally, it's a different bar, so Le Gros Wanker would have little chance of badmouthing DH, and there are far fewer advocates than in Marseille so more work going for the ones who are registered there. But it's probably fairly competitive, with the established advocates guarding work jealously for themselves, and DH would need to build up a client base. We have few friends or contacts there, though DH does know a lawyer who'll be taking over his father's practice soon and may look for a partner. DH says he could also build up his own practice v slowly over the next few years and therefore be available to see the kids and help lighten the juggling load I do with housekeeping/shopping/childcare and work .
It would increase my car commute by 20 mins, but I don't go in to work every day, and there's a train, so who cares?

Definitely worth looking into...

Anyway, back to this waiting for babies game!

brettgirl2 · 01/04/2009 09:50

Juwes - I have the same achey pain.

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 09:51

Hmmmm, think I still have a packet of mini eggs somewhere.

brettgirl2 · 01/04/2009 09:52

Easter eggs were bogof in Sainsbury's yesterday, only prob is that it seemed rather greedy to buy two!

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 09:53

I bought a pack for the chocolate cake I am supposed to be making, they are now half finished - anyone want one before I finish them off?

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 09:54

not when you are eating for two...

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 09:54

Yes please!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 09:54

Juw - yep 8 & 12pm, ok second one it is then the solpadol only gives me 30 mins to an hour pain relief (better than nothing though) so missing out the morning wont be too bad anyway (plus i havent been getting up very early lately )

OP posts:
brettgirl2 · 01/04/2009 09:55

Haha, would love a mini egg

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 01/04/2009 09:57

Auld - ooohhhh does sound suspiciously like a cunning plan!!!

BB - yes please!!

OP posts:
SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 09:57

BB & Trista - you think you two are bad? I had to stop myself coming on to check up on you all at about 3am because I was wide awake & didn't want to be missing out on any baby action

purple, about MIL's dog. Very sad. There are loads of threads about explaining death to young children if you do need inspiration - one of the phrases I liked when I was reading was that 'death is when you're finished living', or something like that. Apparently most small kids accept that without too much question.

frekkles, my ol' buddy, ol' pal! You're back! & having a show! & looking forward to the baby! I'm looking forward to you having your baby too - I can't wait to break your exciting news

Boffin, I know what you mean about not feeling pregnant anymore. I'm uncomfortable & often in pain, I'm fat & grumpy, BUT I'm so used to all of those things that they're not enough to balance out the mental block I have with the pregnancy. I'm not kidding when I say that I've given up on having my baby - it's stopped being real to me!

Nutty, that you're still in so much pain. Just think, though - it's April now. It really can't be much longer.

Auld, YANBU. You are very pregnant & people viewing your house are very annoying. It makes sense to ignore the agents, if you ask me! So, was it a cunning plan?

BB, what IS that community MW place? Your hospital always sounds fab, but I don't know what's going on there! Perhaps it is just that they're only really interested in post-birth stuff & when you see them post-birth they'll be a whole different kettle of fish? They do sound awful, though... & don't worry, lovely. You're well on your way. It's going to be tomorrow, remember?

Swaliswan, it is really frustrating. At this point though, it could easily kick off very quickly & become real - without any need to worry about LO. Just get some rest & try to keep your mind off it, I guess

I'm not sure about the RLT thing - about it not being effective. I mean I don't think that it's an absolute cure-all, but surely it says something that miscarriages have been quite frequently linked to early RLT consumption?

I think that if you're expecting it to induce labour, you'll be disappointed. If you're expecting it to make your second stage labour more effective (more powerful contractions) then you may be in luck Of course, there's no way of telling what kind of labour you'd have anyway, so you'll just have to take it on faith...

surprisenumber3 · 01/04/2009 09:58

morning all. BB - sorry you had a horrible time with the MW

Still feel a bit sick this morning but I find if I sniff the black school pumps it goes off a bit!

Anyone elses belly button hurt? Mine looks like it's going to pop and feels bruised.

SpringySponge · 01/04/2009 09:59

Ooh, Auld, that does sound like it could be cunning.

I ate a whole bag of Mini Eggs yesterday & will have to go & buy some more to replace them before DH realises that I've had 4 bags in 3 days...

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 09:59

how is your sponge this morning springy?

Did you and DH have the chat last night?

BabyBolat · 01/04/2009 10:00

The mini eggs are gone and it did not cure my unhappiness...

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 10:01

My belly button hurts too, Surprise. It has almost become an outy. It is really sore and battered looking where I left it a bit late to take the ring out. I also discovered I have a mole in there!

surprisenumber3 · 01/04/2009 10:02

lol Juw, mine is usually really deep but it actually an outy now!

Juwesm · 01/04/2009 10:04

Don't be sad BB! Why don't you vent a bit by writing to the Supervisor of Midwives, explaining that you have not received the standard of care you expect from your community team, and request/ demand that your post-natal care is done by the other team.
