SarahL2 - my second pregnancy was completely different to my 1st..I craved completely opposite things - 1st pregnancy I couldn't eat enough crisps and curries, 2nd pregnancy all I wanted was chocolate and it was only after birth that I could eat curry again. I also looked a completely different shape (maybe due to all the chocolate )...I was convinced I was having a boy - completely different labours.....both were girls.

I don't mind either way cazzybabs so I won't be disappointed if we have another boy - just wondering cause everything feels so different.

I'm terrible at suprises which is why we'll be hoping to find out the sex at 20 weeks!!

Good Morning all!

I weighed myself this morning to find a weight gain of hallf a pound which I was a bit disappointed in tbh as I'd started to think that I had a little bump but now I think it's just the thickened skin around my c.section scar. My boobs are def bigger though, I'll be needing new bras soon .

well this is my last chance to produce to boy, although chances are slim slim slim with 3 girls already...

sigh my dream of standing up a rugby pitch watching my son play are fading fast

Hi everyone, just checking in after my scan yesterday. Saw baby wriggling away and dates confirmed. Have just told work so I can finally talk about it in public now
Now debating with DH whether or not to find out the sex at 21 week scan - we didn't with DS, so I sort of feel it's unfair to find out this time. Still, plenty of time to think about it.

I had my nuchal fold scan today & everything looked fine not to mention amazingly detailed. I also discovered that we're having another boy. ds will be chuffed as he's been convinced it was a boy ever since we told him I was pregnant. Just been looking at boys bedding, clothes etc in the Babiesrus catalogue. Very excited.

Anyone else feel like it's a long time until 20 week scan? My husband didn't want to find out the sex originally but I sort of did. He's decided he now wants to so very excited to find out! Am too impatient so not great with surprises - especially when I know I can find out.

I know there are lots of us and it's probablly been done already but where is everyone based? Am in London.

Nice to hear all the scan stories, mine is not for another 2 weeks, cannot wait. Claire236 - were you able to find out the sex at your 12(ish) week scan? I am half thinking I shouldn't find out this time (I did with ds/dd) but know I won't be able to resist when the time comes.

Woo hoo. Finally got my scan date through - next Friday afternoon. Don't think I'll cope with the waiting for another week though

Thanks Clare236. Comments like that off my grandmother are like water off a ducks back unfortunately, she has been telling me im fat since I was 10, wouldnt mind but I was literally skin and bone right until I had DS!! She is almost 90 so I just bite my tongue when she says stupid things!

Yippee! Scan date arrived in the post this morning. Scan on 24th June then clinic appointment with consultant afterwards. I can't wait.

Might have to tell work though as my appointment is early afternoon and I'm in the middle of a set of nights so unless I can change the appointment I will need the night before off. Will try to change the appointment to Thuirsday 25th.

Sooo excited but also terrified that I'll have had a mmc.

Quick question re scan dates. I'm outside the UK at present but won't arrive back until I'm 17 1/2 weeks so trying to get registered with a GP and get my 20 week scan organised is going to be a squeeze as it is. In fact I've got a temporary job lined up which I have done since Jan so I'll even be restricted to the days that I can go for a scan.

I've never had any scans or investigations done at a hospital before. Are they reasonably flexible about dates or is it more, this is your scan date, either take it or leave it? Also how far in advance are people getting their 20 week scans booked? Am worried that I'll be leaving it late to get it sorted but I've got no choice.

hello - I think it depends upon your hospital...ours has just changed its system so you phone up and book when you have a referral from the midwife...however it is a still a case of you fitting in with them than the other way round

I can't remember from last time when I got my 20 week scan date. I do remember changing appointments around a little bit for work reasons and my hospital was very accommodating (though I did work for them just around the corner from the mat. unit).

You are entitled to time off from work for you appointments but I can appreciate that you might not want to do this. I'm going to be in a right pickle as my midwife only does an antenatal clinic at the GP surgery on a Monday afternoon and I have an outpatient clinic that I run every Monday afternoon booked up until God knows when. I will struggle to get clinics covered so will somehow have to sort out midwife stuff on other days, maybe home visits or at another practice.

Sounds as though you and I may be in similar jobs! It's a nightmare when thing are fixed for the one day that you really can't do aren't they. Unfortunately I'll be self-employed so any time off work is effectively unfunded, and I won't be entitled to SMP or whatever the self-employed equivalent is as I won't have been back in the UK for long enough.

Still, at least we'll be saving a lot on the social and holiday side of things for the foreseeable future!

Hi everyone, I've just had my letter from the hospital with a scan date of 22nd June, this means I'm not having my first scan until I'm nearly 15 weeks. Is this a bit late? It's my first baby and the midwife said I'd be scanned at 12 weeks. Should I try to get it changed?

I haven't posted for a while, as I have spent the last few weeks with various relatives staying and it's all been rather hectic. I hope you're all doing well and the babies are growing as they should be!

Where I live (northern Greece, so no point in adding postcode) you see a gynaecologist all the way through pregnancy, and I also have to contend with the fact that my gynaecologist has received a transfer and is moving to another hospital in another city, so I have to find another one. Bit of a nuisance.

Has anyone ever had a craving for pickled onions? I can't seem to get enough of them, I've just polished off a jarful!

Also, has anyone else NOT put any weight on, or is it just me? I'm starting to get worried about it. I put on loads with both my previous pregnancies, but I weighed myself this morning and I'm the same weight as 2 months ago. Please come and tell me this is normal!
