off to the shops - brb!

SpringySunshine · 28/03/2009 14:34

My hair's its natural colour, which I don't mind - I like having it all freshly dyed, or highlighted or whatever - but it very quickly looks terrible when it grows out & I can never afford to keep on top of it

It does need a good cut, though.

Kitty, I am quite in love with your DH. Good for him wanting to do a thread!

bronze · 28/03/2009 14:47

I like my natural colour just don't like the greys that dd gave me

that 3/3 thread is a bad influence I'm in the middle of baking again

SpringySunshine · 28/03/2009 14:48

Yes, I'm staying off the 3/3 thread for that reason

PuzzleRocks · 28/03/2009 15:10

Hello there

We have been into town thiis morning for some bits from Habitat and some new bath crayons for DD. We also had our eye tests and did a massive shop at Waitrose and now I am shattered.
DH has just buttered me some lovely hot cross buns, would anyone like?
Was served by a slightly batty woman in the opticians. When I explained that I need narrow frames because I have a slim face she replied "Yes, but you have a very fat belly"

Off for a catch up now.

BabyBolat · 28/03/2009 15:23

Puzzle - I can't believe she said that!! Glad you had a productive morning!!

Would love a hcb but am so full I can't move!!!

DH and I have just had a massive lunch and have pilled all our sofa cushions on the floor in a bed-like pile and are curled up watching DVDs - well I am, he is sleeping / snoring!!

I am actually debating whether or not to grow the colour out of mine at the moment - can't really decide!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 28/03/2009 15:39

Afternoon everyone! Not checked in for a while - sorry! Still no baby here - my 2nd was already born by this stage. Hope I'll not go late! (not yet been late with either of my 2 children). Then again, the 12w dating scan moved my date a full week earlier in the first place, so who knows when this baby will arrive!

Starting to feel a bit anxious for it to be born - know what's happening etc. Though to take my mind off it, I really should be cleaning my bedroom and putting away about 3 loads of clothes! Enough to keep me busy - not to mention lots of lack of sleep, due to 2yo son having bad eczema! We were up from 2-4am on Thursday night with him scratching like mad! And last night he insisted he was sleeping in our bed (only a double bed - and sizable 2yo in the middle!). He wouldn't stop scratching and cried every time he was put back to his bed, but was fast asleep the second he was lying in our bed....and I was tooooo tired to argue at midnight! However, I was nearly in the floor by 5am! LOL He'd gone sideways across the bed and I was soooo sore! OK, enough moaning!

Hope everyone else is enjoying their Saturday! Lovely and sunny here - but cold too, and lots of snow flurries too! brrrr

AuldAlliance · 28/03/2009 15:40

Hello, everyone, it's quiet around here after the crazy rush to complete the previous thread.

Mathsmummy, I am overwhelmed at your appreciation of my Latin skills

I have just had a fabulous 2hr nap, during which time DH and DS built amazing things out of Kapla (do they exist in the UK?). They have now gone swimming together, which will doubtless do DS's cough the power of good, but I kept schtumm about that.

Am now having a nice quiet cuppa before heading off to the baker's; this business of buying a baguette every day is charming at times, and a PITA at others, especially when it's raining like today. It was 21° yesterday, so I blithely washed the sheets overnight. They have now been mouldering in the machine for hours as I didn't want to drape them around the kitchen until today's lot of viewers had gone. Only an hour to go, now...
God, my life is exciting!

Hope everyone is OK, looking forward to an update from Clairey.

Bleuravin · 28/03/2009 15:46

UPDATE FROM CLAIREY: 14:53 (I was napping)
I have just had my waters broken and am about to get a Syntosin drip set up. This baby is finally on its way. Hopefully tonight!

BabyBolat · 28/03/2009 15:57

YAY FOR CLAIREY -we WILL have a baby on this thread!!!

Bless you DS rachel - what has he been given for his skin?

Auld nice nap - shame about the weather - how are the viewings going?

PuzzleRocks · 28/03/2009 16:08

OOh Kitty, do you think he's getting an eternity ring for you?
This is an F1 household too. DD loves watching with DH. Isn't it brilliant about Button!

BB - I can't believe you ddn't need to pee all night. I am so jealous.

Purple - Sorry to hear you have been under the weather.

Nutty - What was the cd?

Boff - That's reassuring that DH's employers are taking his health seriously.
Hooray for John Lewis.
How can you hate SuDoku? I find the standard version a bit boring but Killer Sudoku is ace. What about KenKen?

Fingers crossed for our Clairey. I hope she isn't too fed up, and things start progressing soon.

PuzzleRocks · 28/03/2009 16:18

Springy - Trust me, it may take a while, but you will definitely have filthy sex again. [Puzzle wonders if there is any other kind. Perhaps it's that making love business that other people seem to refer to.]

I am now eating strawberry cheesecake and OMG it is good.

Bleuravin · 28/03/2009 16:23

Oh Puzzle...Strawberry cheesecake and talking about sex... good combo

surprisenumber3 · 28/03/2009 16:24

Hi all - going to catch up in a sec.

Nothing happened here on my part back pain gone, tightenings still regular and V uncomfortable.

Just read a bit about Clairey, great to see a baby is on the way but why has she been induced?

Have picked up pram/car seat so am ready on that front!

PuzzleRocks · 28/03/2009 16:25

BB - Which dvd's?

Rachel - Poor DS. And you. Snow flurries sounds lovely, we just have miserable rain.

BoffinMum · 28/03/2009 16:31

Washing machine plumbing has a leak. Getting too late to go out for parts. DH doesn't know how to plumb in the tumble dryer either and thinks it may need a special kit, so we are going to have to empty it manually. Starting to think I shouldn't have cancelled the installation engineer today after all. DH busy installing some electrical refinement to bathroom extractor fan in loft instead of sorting out laundry issue. Has been fiddling about with it all for hours. I don't know about his BP but mine is rising ....

PuzzleRocks · 28/03/2009 16:33

Oh hell Boff, it was all going so well.

BoffinMum · 28/03/2009 16:34

But he has saved us £30 by fucking up the plumbing. Look on the bright side.

BabyBolat · 28/03/2009 16:35

Surprise's baby was breach so they turned it to come out - was either that or CS. Tightenings are a good sign still - maybe we will have TWO babies on this thread!!!

Puzzle - watching Walk the Line at the moment and just started reading a chick lit book while DH snores away!

Boffin - poo re appliances, hopefully they can all be fitted soon [crossed fingers emoticon]

Bleuravin · 28/03/2009 16:40

Oh dear Boff
Equally annoying things here.
Cot bed painting really not going smoothly (literally and figuratively). Paint seems to scratch off despite doing everythings correctly and 'by the book.'
Computer bits for desktop computer not installing correctly; computer keeps crashing. DH is constantly swearing at 'other programmers' and companies who make you buy all sorts of software for things that ought to be included with the hardware automatically.
Bike shock broke on final put together after hours of taking apart and cleaning and fixing and putting all together again...
MY DHs BP has definitely risen...

Bleuravin · 28/03/2009 16:47

On a fun note I straddled Dh's lap to snuggle close to him and Sprite kicked him in the groin. (perhaps it's a girl)

Bleuravin · 28/03/2009 16:47

i guess punched him would be more accurate considering the baby's position...

Bleuravin · 28/03/2009 16:50

BB which chick lit book you reading? I'm reading Harry Potter in french currently...my french has definitely deteriorated in the last 4 years

tristaleejac · 28/03/2009 16:50

ha ha nice, sounds like a girl alright!
mine always kicks DP in the back while he's sleeping. He never seems to notice though

Bleuravin · 28/03/2009 16:56

I also said that it seemed to stretch certain 'areas'
he said 'maybe it will make the plug come out.'
I said 'you wouldn't really like that right now that I'm on your lap.'
'no... but I am wearing my old work jeans...'
