I think DH has already announced that there will be no presents for me this time round but it's fair enough, last time I got some lovely sapphire earrings. And I never get a chance to wear them.

SpringySunshine · 28/03/2009 11:47

I know. Puzzle may be back yet, anyway

So, what's everyone planning for the day?

bronze · 28/03/2009 11:50

will add that idea to my thought process nutty- maybe the stone for our anniversary month

Bleuravin · 28/03/2009 11:50

Should I text Clairey? She's my buddy...don't want to interrupt her life though if she's busy...

SpringySunshine · 28/03/2009 11:50

I won't get any presents either. He just won't think of it

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 28/03/2009 11:51

DH is picking up some lunch for us, we have Pride & Prejudice on DVD and some hot choc with my name on it... so we're going to be snuggling all day!

How about you all?

Tomorrow is the first Formula 1 race and I'm soooo excited... I met Jenson Button when he was in Cape Town many moons ago and he's lovely, I'm so pleased he's on pole position! (Plus, he's rather easy on the eye... makes all that driving around in circles MUCH more exciting... )

SpringySunshine · 28/03/2009 11:53

Kitty Your DH is soooo good [envy

BoffinMum · 28/03/2009 11:53

Hello everyone

Calm in the household this morning after an initially stressful start. Kids out at choir, and I have done menu planning and grocery order for next Saturday already. I am feeling very organised.

Replacement washing machine and tumble dryer came at 7am (!) from John Lewis, with their apologies for the old ones being so troublesome. I really do like that shop. The washing machine is a little bigger than its predecessor, and has a better lingerie and fast wash programme, so I think we have done quite well out of this. They also come with brand new guarantees, so I get three years' warranty from today. I think I may just have to become a poster girl for JL.

Ocado order came 15 minutes later with things including all the stuff I told Bleu to buy the other day - fat olives, breadsticks, proper mozarella, parma ham and so on. Num num. It has almost made up for the fact that DD has apparently stolen my bag of chocolate mini eggs I was saving from last Saturday. I think I may put her up for adoption after that, if it's not too late.

DH is going to plumb the new machines in for me, thank god. He is in better form today, with slightly lower BP and feeling a bit more relaxed and cheerful, which I am sure is helping. He has told his boss he was nearly hospitalised with this and the boss went a bit white and will now have to start being a bit more accommodating than previously (DH's department have really been pushed too hard over the last year and sick leave is now an epidemic there, which is always a warning sign). I have put him on a BP lowering diet again and I am trying to be as cheerful and chilled as I can because that also has a beneficial effect - we do pick upon each others' moods a lot. Hopefully there will also be some nookie later which will be good for morale purposes and also birth induction (although all is very quiet indeed on that front today).

Currently trying to make arrangements to disconnect passenger airbag in car so a baby seat can go there, and also find a tutor for DS1 so he can have a bit of revision in his SATS subjects. I normally do this sort of thing for the kids but frankly at the moment I feel the need to have the whole thing over.

Anyway, hope you're all having a lovely Saturday so far.

Bleuravin · 28/03/2009 11:53

Asked DH if I was to expect a gift and he looked flabberghasted/scared. 'why would I get you a gift? Should I be? Are you expecting one?' Laughed so hard I cried...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/03/2009 11:55

Bleu - yeah give her a text, i'm sure she wont mind.

Springy - you have to have a little something to mark the occasion even if its a bear!!

Bronze - yep that would work

not up to much, dd is at stagecoach till 2 dh is out driving so i have the morning free and then snuggles and messing about with dd, though i dh did say he might take her to the park so she can have a scoot? so not sure .

Springy, I am currently eating an olive so plump and luscious it is practically a form of erotica in its own right.

SpringySunshine · 28/03/2009 11:59

BOFFIN! Why did you bring up that meal again? WHY?

Also, as if DD would steal your Mini Eggs! Outrageous!

BoffinMum · 28/03/2009 12:00

Oh baby you are so damn juicy.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/03/2009 12:00

bronze - if you can find a tiny piece of a crystal called lapis lazuli, it bonds relationships in love and friendship. Sounds like a nice centre piece to 'tie' all the birth stones together.

Schulte · 28/03/2009 12:05

Oh, olives... dribble... My Ocado man forgot the ciabatta and made a massive dent in the golden syrup tin. How did that song go again? I am the Ocado man, I break everything I can...

Off to make some sticky syrup sponge pudding thingy for later...

Bleuravin · 28/03/2009 12:05

lol you guys are a hoot.

tristaleejac · 28/03/2009 12:05

formula 1 starts tomorrow?
hell yeah, bring it on

BoffinMum · 28/03/2009 12:07

God, it's now dribbling down my chin, it's so juicy. Let me cram another one of these gorgeous little creatures into my mouth. I just can't help myself.

Bleuravin · 28/03/2009 12:07

So instead of working on anything productive (besides growing a beautiful baby) I've been practising my cryptic crossword solving skills... I managed to get 4 clues on two different puzzles new record for me Dh is quite impressed

BoffinMum · 28/03/2009 12:09

I hate crosswords, quizzes and Sudoku.
Am I normal?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/03/2009 12:09

Boffin

Trista - oooohhhh Lapis Lazuli is lush!!!

SpringySunshine · 28/03/2009 12:09

Boffin, you're such a cow! I was on the phone to my mum & refreshed the page & started laughing for no apparent reason

But seriously, stop it! It's torture! TORTURE! I don't even know where I'd get really nice olives from around here, short of going to a restaurant I wish DH wasn't doing uni work - I'd make him take me out on an olive hunt
