Swaliswan - oh no!! how dare they make refreshers all natural!! tis a crime though parma violets for me mmmm yummy

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 21:37

That is indeed a major crisis, Swali. Can you get some imported from a distant country where they still have the old sort? Like when they carried on making VW Beetles in Brazil?

Swaliswan · 30/03/2009 21:39

Ah well, if I spend as much time throwing up during labour this time as I did last time, I won't want to eat the refreshers.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 21:40

Swali - how about love hearts as an alternative?? not quite the same but....

Boffin - 3 more weeks!!!

Swaliswan · 30/03/2009 21:50

Nutty, you don't want to know what I said to DH in Tesco when he suggested that love hearts would be a good alternative

Thanks for the text earlier, BTW

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 21:55

Swali - you have intrigued me now!!! no problem

OP posts:
Swaliswan · 30/03/2009 22:06

I wasn't very polite about his suggestion.

Anyway, I'm off to bed as DH deems it bedtime and I have a really annoying headache.

Night All x

conkertree · 30/03/2009 22:08

hmm the natural colours etc - same thing happened with smarties - they've never been the same since.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 22:08

Night Swali xx

CONGRATULATIONS CLAIERY!!!!!!!! It's all popping away. Can't wait to see pics of the two latest arrivals.

TOO EXCITED!!!!

erm anyway about my attention-seeking norks:
The GP says there is no reason for a referral as the change in shape is external not internal. There were two of them prodding me for bit which was not nice but it makes me think at least they were making an effort. They asked me a lot of general questions about feelings and well being so I think they think I am neurotic, perhaps because I went to the out of hours doctor yesterday. (They also are very exercised that DP is not registered and has not been to a doc for years, perhaps they think I made him up!)

Where's frekkles?

BB, driving isn't great but I am hanging on to that last little bit of freedom. I have paid more for parking in the last few weeks - to avoid walking some very small distances - than I probably have the rest of the time since I got my car.

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 22:37

Just lost a post, but GingerSarah, I am not convinced about this - did you not report they had swabbed blood from your nipple, which is highly irregular at this stage? And external changes such as puckering are indeed a common sign of problems further afoot. If it was my norks I would still consider getting a second opinion, even if they were discouraging me, tbh. Apart from anything else it might bring peace of mind.

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 22:38

Also Ginger what pg woman isn't a bit neurotic???? It's for a reason, so we look after ourselves.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 22:40

Ginger - glad they were at least a little more attentive and taking it a bit more seriously xx

OP posts:
SpringySunshine · 30/03/2009 22:43

frekkles is my buddy - we were in touch yesterday (she was telling me about a birthing book she was reading), but still no baby. She's fine though

Boff, it's so frustrating like that - but you're getting to the point where you're so close that your contractions may suddenly come to something. I hope so. Although you'll be too busy to talk us through the ends of our pregnancies, so you can hold on.

BB, I had a dream last night that you gave birth on Thursday - could it be a premonition?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 22:48

Springy - glad frekkles is ok

Have now discussed new school situation with DH and we are a lot happier. Plan to tell DS2 on Wednesday after giving the transfer form in to the current school. We reckon it's worth a shot and if it doesn't work out we'll have a go at something else.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 22:51

Boffin - good luck for wednesday

OP posts:
gingersarah · 30/03/2009 22:53

but boffin, how do you get to see someone without a gp's referral?

SpringySunshine · 30/03/2009 22:54

I hope he takes it well, Boff

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 22:56

i'm going to hit the hay methinks

Night Nutty xx

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 23:07

Ginger, you book a private appointment (if you can't get an NHS one) and then force your GP to write you a brief referral letter for the sake of formality, blaming your own need for peace of mind, and politely asking to be humoured on this one occasion.

Alternatively go up to the hospital ante-natal clinic and share your concerns with one of the consultants up there, and get him/her to do a tertiary referral. Even more clout.

But only if you are still feeling worried, of course. I am assuming you do, because I would be. But I may be projecting this onto you.

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 23:09

Cheers for good luck wishes, Nutty. I think to have the summer term at this new school will be very nice for him, actually.

We are going to buy him some Big Lego. That should sort it. He is addicted to Lego on a very fundamantal level.

Anyway off to bed now to read my Barbara Vine book because Auld is waiting for it. Night night, people. xx

mathsmummy27 · 30/03/2009 23:13

I am cross because I have finished my book and it was quite good.

And DH is kindly painting the bedroom..but it means i can't sleep in it right now...

but the lovely evening primrose vibes are keeping me going..that and the three helpings of leftover curry

mathsmummy27 · 30/03/2009 23:15

I can sort of understand the Lego Boff..but there's something I like even more: rawl plugs.(did I spell that right? don't think I've ever confessed in writing before..) Yummy!
