Ooooooo, how rude of me! HUGE CONGRATS to WFH and Clairey! Bring on the rest of the April babies

conkertree · 30/03/2009 21:04

you sound very chirpy nutty - are you feeling better in the pain department or are you being nice but still feeling a bit rotten yourself?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 21:07

still in pain (more so recently) but i am in a much better mood than i have been for a few days , which helps

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 21:10

Still no baby here! I was sure I'd at least be as early as last time (5 days) but my due date is Wednesday already! Though I do feel as if things are happening/changing inside, so hoping it won't be tooo much longer. Been having the occasional painful BHs since Friday or so - quite a few today and lower back pain too. Seems this 3rd pregnancy is just rather different to the previous ones. Never had any painful contractions with 1st until they hooked me up to drip for induction (2 days after waters breaking!) and then didn't get any painful ones with 2nd baby until 2 days after waters broke (again!) and within hours of him being born! Sooo, has seemed odd to get painful ones here and there for a few days. Hoping (or wishfully thinking!) that maybe my body is getting all the hard work done here & there and then baby will just come all at once, without too much time involved! LOL

Bleuravin · 30/03/2009 21:12

babies can do that can't they?

BabyBolat · 30/03/2009 21:12

Evening all

Very quick catch up

yay for Clairey - lovely name Did I miss WFH's baby name as I was catching up?

Boff, from my experience with various cousins and friends the more you fret about telling him, the worse he will take it - you have to make it seem like the greatest thing in the world, like it's a big surprise and will make him really happy and even if he is a bit gutted, he is likely to get caught up in your excitement - for example, will he need to go out and buy some new sports / science equipment for the school that you could do together. Also, tis up to you but I would tell him BEFORE the baby comes as if he takes it badly he might associate those bad feelings with the LO.

I think Nutty is just pleased the babies have started!!!

Do you know I am just too lazy for this self-induction stuff, I can't bounce for more than 10 mins without getting board, I have given up RLT and nipple stimulation for an hour - bopp that!!!!

LOL at your princess story Bleu xx

My day has gone so fast, went to my parents house, went for a walk, did some shopping (got the baby monitors) and saw my granddad for a couple of hours and then back home, dinner and lovely bath with DH who is now making me tea and painting my toenails!!!

BabyBolat · 30/03/2009 21:16

Anyone else finding it more difficult to drive? Think it is something to do with the position but get constant back and period pain when I am driving - grrr. Refuse to be stuck at home unable to drive myself places!!!!

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 21:16

BB that is actually very wise. I will talk it all up and make it exciting. Have you thought of going into education for a living????

Bleuravin · 30/03/2009 21:17

Oooh yes BB! I found picking up/driving DH rather difficult.

Bleuravin · 30/03/2009 21:20

anyway, going to bed...

BabyBolat · 30/03/2009 21:21

My mum is a nursery / special needs teacher and my sister a child minder so I get lots of tips and experience with kids and I come from a huge family so lots of people around - and have seen (especially with one particular member of my family) how NOT to do it!!!

My mum always says that kids take change better if they think they are involved and in control of it (as much as they ever can be!!!)

BabyBolat · 30/03/2009 21:22

Night Bleu xx Happy princess dreams...

Swaliswan · 30/03/2009 21:23

I haven't been able to reach the pedals for weeks so driving is out for me. It was bad enough before I was pregnant, it really is impossible now. Even if it was an emergency, I would not physically be able to drive.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 21:25

Rachel - your baby must be comfy but fingers crossed that yup it will come quickly for you after you getting some preparation in

BB - Glad you had a lovely day sweety xx

Hey smutts - thanks for the updates today!! Day was just very chilled - am off shopping for bathroom tiles tomorrow (going to make at least some plans every day so I am not waiting around for this LO to arrive!!!)

DH's manicuring skills have improved, still not quite there but wouldn't be embarrassed to take my shoes and socks off now!!

Tonight's pre-labour frustrating and apparently unproductive contractions. Contractionmaster seems to be new and improved.

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 21:31

Your mum sounds brill, BB. I did prime him a bit at bathtime and I'm going to discuss tactics with DH right now after he has microwaved his curry.

Swaliswan · 30/03/2009 21:33

I'm having a crisis. I bought a packet of refreshers for my labour bag as I always loved them as a child (and an adult ) and they seemed like a nice alternative to glucose tablets to keep me going. Not only has the packaging changed, but the refreshers are completely different as well. Bring back the old ones that weren't all natural colours and flavours!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 21:35

BB - no probs oohhh have fun tile shopping, probably a good idea to get out and take your mind off it

Boffin - wow they're very close and still nothing??? xx

Story of my life, Nutty. I could have 3 more weeks of this. Even you will have given birth before me!!
