I know Nutty - I think it's very selfish of Springy to deprive us of our easter eggs!!!

Kitty, am OK, going a bit insane inside now so me an DH are about to go for a walk along the beach to get some air and make room for the yummy carte d'or ice cream I bought today

Kitty - am glad he won - I thought Hamilton did very well to get up from the back but I am a bit over him to be fair!!

boffin, I had a quick look too, there are lots out there but all fairly expensive - It's not ideal with your pain but might be worth a trip to TK Max who often have some throws for good prices - it's a bit hit and miss. I usually hate the shop as it's like a jumble sale but their home range is a bit more organised!! Other than that JL and Debenhams normally have a fairly big range.

Still no news from Clairey and I don't really want to bother her if she's cuddling her baby or not feeling well...

I've had a dull day today 'waiting' for Dh to go out biking then waiting for him to come home again. Was about to paint the cot some more, but realised DH hadn't finished cleaning the brushes when he said he would and so they were still soaking... Ah well. I've been eating junk food all day and feel like crap. I really ought to know better.
Dh asked me to please have the baby on Saturday because everything should be ready by then and he'll then get the latter part of this week to relax and bike and finish the little projects he has to do yet...
If babies were so obliging BB would have her's by now as would some of you others I'm sure...

surprisenumber3 · 29/03/2009 19:02

oh BB, a walk along the beach would be so nice, am so

Bleuravin · 29/03/2009 19:03

Swali, I'm glad your PE symptoms have disappeared

purplemonkeydishwasher · 29/03/2009 19:35

bah
pbttttt
meh

i'm in a mood. just restless and bored and so very very uncomfortable. i have a million things that need doing and can't be bothered to do anything.

Swali - so glad that everything is ok!

while you are on the look out for throws for Boffin, can you recommend a good (cheap) place to get curtains and blinds? DS is getting up earlier and earlier and he's just not falling for the 'it's not morning time yet go back to sleep' line anymore.

we need 2 curtains 5' x 6' - room is soft sage colour, not bothered about colours and for DS's room we need a blackout blind that's 23" x 26" i think. his room is a pale lime.

i'm just having a quick look right now and i refuse to pay £30 for a little blind.

oh i've been meaning to ask...does anyone know how long it should take for the HIP money to come through? i think i put mine in at 28 weeks. surely if it's Health in pregnancy we should get the money while we're still pregnant

Juwesm · 29/03/2009 19:36

Things I have learned on MN today:

  1. 'Space Docking' - Urban Dictionary at your peril. It's not big and its not clever.

  2. If you are fasting for Lent it doesn't count on Sundays. Apparently.

Disappointing lack of baby action, except for Clairey, probably. The due dates are going to start rolling by very soon!

Swali - glad your symptoms have all resolved. Now get busy relaxing!

Yay! DH has just presented me with Creme Eggs! And he made french toast this morning. Lovely man!

surprisenumber3 · 29/03/2009 19:41

purple, I need blackout blinds too - curtains have blackout lining but isn't very good. My DS's don't believe me it's bed time now as 'it's still sunny!'.

the HiP they are starting giving out from 6th April so hopefully, as we were the first ones to get it in, we should be the first batch!

conkertree · 29/03/2009 19:42

hi just popping on to see if there are any babies - i see from juwesm's summary that there arent.

had a ve3ry busy weekend here so will try and catch up tomorrow or tuesday (or else my average posting statistics will go down).

hope everyone is well. dont know about anyone else but i really feel like this baby could just pop out at any time - feels so low and heavy. but i doubt it will be as easy as that

Juwesm · 29/03/2009 19:47

And now he has made me bowl of 'nanas and custard! Brownie points are piling up!

Bleuravin · 29/03/2009 19:47

I was told they wouldn't start handing out the HIP until May...

Bleuravin · 29/03/2009 19:49

mmmm Juw...can I have some too? Pleeeeese! Pleeeeeease! Pretty please with a cherry on top? mmmmm

gingersarah · 29/03/2009 19:55

Hello

Any news from Frekkles?
Glad Swali is ok.

Feeling super crap today. Have just been really horrible to DP about dinner. I am starving and just want him to make something. I don't want to say what, I don't want to discuss what ingredients we have, I don't want him to look up recipes on the internet, I want food. I am a bitch. He made my lunch to order.

Can't stop crying today. Can't read, can't think, can't watch DVDs. yuk.

Right sorry to moan I am sure tomorrow will be better.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 29/03/2009 19:57

Hi everyone.
Swali - so glad you're ok. It's a scary thing, PE. Just take it easy that's all you have to do. You'll be fine, and it's great they're watching you so closely.
I'm loving that it's 8pm and it's still light outside. Hooray for daylight! I'm one of these people who is just a whole new person when the sun shines and the nights get lighter. Rest of the time I'm a grumpy bitch.
ALTHOUGH..........major rant alert.
Took my spanking gorgeous new camera out today to show my brother just how amazing it is and the bloody thing is faulty. It would show me the pics I have taken but it won't turn on the actual camera part. I was fuming. I've only had it a month and it's a bloody expensive camera, took me a while to save up for it.
Anyway it's cool, the shop will take it back (or I'll shove it up their arse) and probably send it away for repair. But of course that'll probably take a few weeks and I have a very important event coming up which requires a good camera (or any bloody camera at this rate!) to take baby's first pics.
Anyway thankfully my dad (professional photographer) has a spare digital camera so he's going to get it to me hopefully within the next week.
It left me in some mood though, I was stomping around in a grump for ages!

tristaleejac · 29/03/2009 20:01

think we all need some of these

mumblemumhome4lunch · 29/03/2009 20:06

eveing ladies,

No news on Clairy yet - the suspense is a killer !! When I last saw the consultant he said that when they try to turn baby they only do it if they have room to take you in as some babies can get a bit distressed and it can herefore sometimes be necessary to induce/section you straight away . Also that if they think baby will just flip back - how they would be able to judge this I have no idea. Suspect this explains why she's been induced today. Hope alls going well for her....my SIL took about 4 days for her induction to get a result - no specific problems just crap hospital staff getting their timings all wrong.

Swali - just read your post. So glad things have settled down for you and will kepp fingers crossed on the PE front. At least we're near the end so baby can come out without it being too much of a concern, if need be.

Boff - really good news that boffinDad is getting more relaxed, sounds like you've had a lovely weekend.

I get a bit of people having in laws close by (except when hearing of those of you with horrid ones, of course !). Mine are pretty much all ok but none of them, or my own, less than 2.5 - 3 hrs travel away

Got a bit more catching up to do and need to go feed DH - he's been working my veggie beds over & planting out this afternoon whilst I sat and gave orders so he's knackered - bless

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 29/03/2009 20:08

more green curtains not b/o though

Schulte - I just absolutely cannot believe you can possibly reach your toenails sufficiently well enough to paint them !!

tristaleejac · 29/03/2009 20:17

you're welcome nutty, here have another...

mumblemumhome4lunch · 29/03/2009 20:20

Bronze - sorry I had you worried Buddy

Nothing really happening here appart from quite a few BH and a seemingly gradually increasing level of discharge. Def doesn't feel like waters 'tho but have been told to keep an eye on it in case I get an infection.

Appart from computer troubles was also up at the Assessment unit Friday afternoon/eve and Sat morning.........baby decided to sleep for 48 hrs !!
Was fine on monitor of course, aren't they always.

Now I don't know about anyone else but I'm convinced those automatic machines they use to do your BP always make it higher than normal. Mine was up to 135/80, no spectacular but hasn't been over 110/65 so far this pregnancy so very def up !! And I had to take paracetamol for headache fri and sat night - am presuming a conincidence and just from the stress !

Have been arranging DS birthday party for next weekend so have decided I now don't want baby to come early, at least not til after next weekend.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 29/03/2009 20:20

thanks
