jollyjoanne

You sound the same as me and been like it since last monday.

Millie26

Your right this is my 3rd pregnancy and the head never engaged and stayed there in any of them untill i have been in actual labour.

Madigan · 09/03/2009 07:41

Thanks Millie for explanation!! Joanne- any developments?
MY bh seem to have stopped for now. I just WISH I knew whether this baby is coming early, or whether I will not see him/her until c section on 20 March. This waiting about is a nightmare ........... think you will all agree???

Boobz · 09/03/2009 08:34

No signs here - nada, zip, zilch. Never had a Braxton Hicks so wouldn't know what it was anyway I don't think, no period pain, no shows, no leaky waters. Just HUGE with poorly ribs in the evening and eating like a horse still. 38+4 today so still AGES to go - ugh. BABY OUT NOW PLEASE!

xxx

Oh dear, HW. Sounds like you've had a miserable weekend. Hope things get going properly for you soon.

DP being away yesterday failed to work. Am now going to start embarking on big jobs - cot has finally arrived and needs stripping and repainting - to try and tempt fate that way...

twocutedarlings · 09/03/2009 09:10

Again this is all getting so exciting!!

jollyjoanne I started with the runs on my due date (no pains though) sounds to me like your body is getting ready try and rest

Fab name goldmother chuffed your induction went so well for you

boobz dont worry about the lack of BHs, i didnt have any BHs with DD1, and i only have a couple with DD2. Infact with both my girls i didnt get any clues at all. With DD1 i started with regular contraction and with DD2 i had a bloody show followed by regular contractions half an hour later.

twocutedarlings · 09/03/2009 09:12

Chin up Hedgewitch!!

Can anyone take your DS for few hours so that you can try and rest ?

Boobz · 09/03/2009 09:16

That makes me feel a bit better Twocute... thanks

Off to baby sit a friend's baby for a while now (lots of smelling a newborn me thinks) and then MW appointment. Pretty sure the baby has moved to Left Occipital Anterior (from the Left last week) so that's a good sign. Unless the MW says it has gone transverse or something.

And then nothing planned all day! DH out drinking with mates tonight and I'm just planning to read book, watch Sky Plus and take dog for fast paced walk to try and dislodge bambino. HURRY UP!

Boobz · 09/03/2009 09:17

Er, I mean from the Right last week...

oooh that sounds promising hedgewitch! good luck! keep us posted! hey boobz, i am 38 wks today am so fed up!! my food consumption has taken on epic proportions and keep getting cramps/runs for a bit then sod all! gah! had horrible tantrumy row with my 3 yr old getting ready for nursery this a.m just want to be nice smiley mummy again, when will this be. and one of the nursery ladies said "oooh, you look so big today, and you haven't dropped at all have you?" arhghghhgh!! got a check up tomorrow, think i will sob all over the midwife! feel like i have been preggers for 20 years!

Sunshinesmith · 09/03/2009 11:28

Hi girls,

Nothing to report here. Due date today.

Really enjoying the calm before the storm. We had a full house this weekend- my mad family descended as a surprise ( i think the plan was to induce my labour on time- but it failed miserably]

We had a jolly time ; all the men got truly trollied on saturday night- hubby was truly apologetic on Sunday am. Thank god that my sis and mum could have taken me to hospital in case of an emergency - that would have been hillarious.

Seen midwife tomorrow to assess the situation and then will see.

I think my BH have stopped now and keep feeling some action in the fangita area but I always dismiss them until I get the real thing.

Not feeling desperado yet which i think it is keeping me sane.

We have all placed bets and my bet is that baby will come on FRI 13th ...

Will keep you posted. Big love! x

Hi all congrats jolly j, and welcome to little baby Mae . Has anyone been trying any thing to try and kick start things? I am tempted but don't want to disappoint my self! Tried nipple stim with ds and my waters broke in the process! Hello all, congrats on another baby, Mae is a lovely name.
Well I'm now 8 (yes 8) days overdue & I'm raelly fed up. Have tried everything to get things going, the only thing left is castor oil. My sister swears by it but says it is truly foul! Does anyone have any experience of it? I think I'm just going to have to go for it as it's my last chance for a HB.

meep · 09/03/2009 13:04

sunshine your story made me laugh. With dd my dh was banned from drinking for around 3 weeks before my due date - this time I had to remind him on the phone on Friday night that there was the possibility that this baby could be early so her really shouldn't get totally plastered .

I think because I have my date for my c-section I have just relaxed into thinking that will be the day and just don't think this one will be early. Saying that my bump definitely dropped yesterday and I can feel it resting on my thighs as I type!

I didn't really have any warnings last time. I even drove to Boots to pick uip a TENS machine on my due date. Then the next day had a teeny bloody show with mild contractions - fell asleep for a few hours then it all kicked off. I didn't have any BH either last time. My MW could feel them happening when she examined me but I felt nothing. Saying that my placenta was at the front last time and dd was back to back so I don't know if that made a difference?

Well I thought I was finally getting stress free sleep now that I've finished work. Oh no - 3am and I woke up in tears about going into hospital and leaving my current baby (okay she's a toddler but she's still my baby) for 3 nights. It took all my strength not to go through to her room to give her a cuddle!

My dh left for work this morning muttering "hormones....!" under his breath !

Boobz · 09/03/2009 13:05

Congrats Jolly!

Back from MW -- now 2/5 engaged and has moved to the left as suspected so now nestling in the right place which is good! She's really pleased with everything so hopefully this means at least I won't go overdue, if not early.

Next appointment not until due date!

Boobz · 09/03/2009 13:11

Oh Honey! I feel for you! You still have time though, so don't give up on idea of HB. You could still do daily monitoring for a week after 42 weeks or so, so you could still have another 13 days to encourage LO out! Have more sex.

Congrats Joanne and jollybaby!

I've just discovered the hidden expense of breastfeeding - I need more bras!

Ooh and anyone with stitches/bruising, definitely try arnica pilules (you can get them from Holland and Barrett and Boots) and take at least 2 shallow baths a day with 2 handfuls of salt and 6 drops of lavender oil in, I did both and am good as new after 14 days (much to DH's delight last night when I insisted he tested the new-look fanjo).
