swaliswan is spot on with the ditching of books btw no time or energy for that you will be a bit busy

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 14:23

Oh, and maybe money for the carpark, a shawl to put over baby when leaving and if you want to be organised, a list of names and numbers to give to your DH when you want him to announce the birth (complete with your buddy's number if you have one ).

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 14:26

Swaliswan - loving the buddy plug keep it up lol

also from here on in keep your mobile fully charged bleu!!!

Bleu dont forget your carseat!!

Bleuravin · 06/03/2009 14:27

I have 2 packs of maternity pads (20 total), I forgot to put down the lansinoh.
What's magicool spray?
My pjs are flannel..but I think you must mean something else...
Towel is a good idea. I forgot about 'spit up' cloths I shall put those in the baby's bag too.
Dh is supposed to handle the camera duties, but I guess if I put the little one in if he forgets the big one it'll still be ok.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 14:27

duh!!! already been mentioned

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 14:28

I also have a CD of hypnobirthing music and my TENS machine (with extra battery). Some women may also pack things like arnica and raspberry leaf tablets, massage oil, clary sage oil etc etc It depends on what sort of birth you are planning on.

Bleuravin · 06/03/2009 14:29

Babies have shawls?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 14:31

blankets/shawls whatever you prefer

Bleuravin · 06/03/2009 14:31

Ha! You have no idea how lost I can get in a book... and once I start one I hardly want to put them down. DH has joked that the MWs will be telling me to PUSH! and I'll be like...'just wait until I finish this chapter...it's just getting good'... But we shall see.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 14:31

flannel is a washcloth (instead of a sponge)

Bleuravin · 06/03/2009 14:32

Oh dear, I'm not sure my bag is big enough...

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 14:32

I feel a little bit proud that I can remember all of that stuff! I haven't packed all of it though. I've just packed an emergency bag that will suffice for a prem delivery given my history. I'll add a few more bits soon to make it a proper bag complete with baby clothes and going home clothes. I figured that if anything happens like last time, they will not care if I don't have clothes that are small enough for the baby as the NNU provide clothes in this case.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 14:32

hahahahhahahah if you can read a book during labour bleu i will eat my babies placenta!

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 14:33

Bean has hiccups...again.

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 14:34

Mmmmmmmmmmm, placenta curry, anyone?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 14:36

i'm fairly confident i wont have to do this (tis why i said it lol )!!!! yuk!

Bleuravin · 06/03/2009 14:36

How far into labor?

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 14:37

IMHO, if you can read a book whilst you are in labour, then you should still be at home. In which case, you don't need to pack the book in your hospital bag.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 14:38

i mean proper contraction type labour 5 mins apart and dilation is happening 3cms or more

Bleuravin · 06/03/2009 14:40

Ok it's a challenge ladies Maybe it'll help me get through it (But you won't have to eat placenta one way or another Nutty...that's just plain gross)

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 14:40

there is you challenge Bleu if you should choose to accept

Bleuravin · 06/03/2009 14:42

Now people will be telling me to 'put the book down!' and I'll say 'NO, I've got to keep it up until I'm 3cm or more'

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 14:43

oh and if you do manage it, photographic evidence will be required!! so pack the camera

Bleuravin · 06/03/2009 14:43

my mantra between sentences and clenched teeth will be '5min apart 3cm or more' lol (as if!)

Bleuravin · 06/03/2009 14:44

How will you truly know? 'Beautifulcervix' like picture with my clenched teeth and book in the background? Lol
