DD likes having a good look at the washing machine she also changes the settings though which I guess your cat can't do!

Juwesm · 04/03/2009 20:49

Thanks Conkertree - I'm drawn to the stretchy ones. Maybe I'll start with that and get a non-stretchy gauze later if I get on well with the whole wrapping thing. Think I saw something on here about a sling meet so may try and hunt that down.

Cat is probably planning world domination and needs parts from washing machine for fiendish plan.

Swaliswan · 04/03/2009 20:49

Evening All.

Good to see you on here Nutty even if you are using a rubbish patientline machine.

My DD likes trying to change the setting on the washing machine as well, but, we bought one that has a child lock on it. Our washing machine is by far one of our best purchases.

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 20:52

juwesm I think you may be onto something there. The cat is looking particularly evil right now.

Schulte DD does that to the washing machine too. She added a really long drying cycle to my delicates wash as my mother's machine is a washer / dryer combo. Now one of my favourite maternity tops is like a doll's dress .

Anyway I must log off as DH is due back from work v.v. soon and I promised him I would be cooking something tasty.

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 20:53

Swali - quickly before I go - what is your washing machine? Didn't know child locks were possible.

mumblemumhome4lunch · 04/03/2009 20:54

Not as bad as I thought....she's been sick all day from about half hour after getting up, about every hour. Ran out of clothes and she was wearing DS's stuff by midafternoon, luckily he's a smallish almost 4 and she's a big just over 2 and his stuff pretty much okay on her . Poor mite hasn't been able to keep anything down, throwing up about 15-20 mins after any liquid or food. She kept wanting to drink and eat which I suppose is a good sign so I was letting her, working on basis that some of it might well be getting into her.

So hope it's just something she ate and not a viral thing as she's been sick on me 4 or 5 times today. Just wish the wedding wasn't this weekend as now having visions of hugging the toilet bowl in my finery on Saturday !!!

And all my RL girlfriends are round tomorrow night for my Hen Pamper Party - should I cancel or risk infecting everyone, just don't know. Maybe I should just make it a virtual one and have all you guys over for facials/manicures/pedicures/massage, anyone interested

Swaliswan · 04/03/2009 20:56

We have a hotpoint Aqualtis.

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 04/03/2009 21:01

Yes please MM! Tesco are having a sale on those mud pack facial things, four for 3 pounds, we could all put one on and have a glass of alc-free bubbly with you!

Anyone want to borrow my cherry red nailpolish for their toes??

mumblemumhome4lunch · 04/03/2009 21:05

Schulte/LuLU - I went to my BIL wedding with DD 3months old. If BF it's no real hassle so long as your outfit is suitable. ANd given they will tend to sleep anytime/anywhere at that age it was a breeze. DS much more difficult, was a week or so before his 2nd bday. Mind you watch where you sit at the reception as I suddebly realised that because they had round tables I had wopped me boobie out during the speaches without realising that I was effectively immediately in front of the top table facing the rest of the hall - biggest audience I ever "performed" for

SLings - I favour wrap slings but it did take a while to get the knack and get comfortable. Also, depends what you want to do in them, for example, will you be BF in it ?? Wrap slings great for this.

PuzzleRocks · 04/03/2009 21:06

Mumble - poor DD, has she been unwell recently?

Schulte - Can you let the other adults do all the running around so you don't exhaust youself at DD's party?

Lulu - Obviously not suggesting for a funeral, but Coat Of Many Colours always gets me blubbing.

mumblemumhome4lunch · 04/03/2009 21:08

I'm having a manicure and pedicure KittyCat. Hopeing the pedicure will last in a decent state till baby comes. I had one just before DS was born and it was great. Can remember one of the hospital midwives being very impressed with my perfect shocking pick toe nails

mumblemumhome4lunch · 04/03/2009 21:12

Thanks Puzzle - just started today. She's had a snotty nose the last two days but nothing else. Most of this morning she was being fine inbetween bouts but got steadily more unhappy as the day wore on. Just getting fed-up, tired out by it and hungry I think. She cried loads when I wouldn't give her any bedtime milk but seeing as NOTHING else had stayed down I couldn't face dealing with vile curdled milk vomit half hour after getting her into bed. Broke my heart 'tho

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 04/03/2009 21:14

I'm off to bed - see you all tomorrow!

mumblemumhome4lunch · 04/03/2009 21:18

Just noticed the time - best go get some supper sorted and do some of the things I couldn't do this morning (DD and DS should have gone to preschool but didn't, obviously) like finish the orders of service and DD dress.

Not sure when I'll next be on as Mum comes tomorrow and DP has tomorrow/friday off for last min wedding panick stuff and in laws to be here on Fri too, I think. So I may well be a respectable woman by time I next post

OddEyes · 04/03/2009 21:56

hello! just caught up and posting so i can find you all aqain!
Am very itchy so off to bed to sleep despite ocado delivery due later.

BoffinMum · 04/03/2009 22:04

Nutty: You have to get a dr to write up a prescription for codeine and morphine on your chart. Tell them it's important this is done asap, because you have been working really hard on keeping your pain gates closed as much as possible, and if they only give you paracetemol, you will be back to square one undoing all your good work.

PuzzleRocks · 04/03/2009 22:04

Surprise / Bronze - Down there feels the same for me too. I occasionally find myself walking like John Wayne.

Ju - That "recipe" is cringesome. I used a babasling for DD which was fine.
Gina Ford, hmm, not for me personally, I preferred DD to find her own routines and that certainly worked for us.

Swaliswan · 04/03/2009 22:06

I am exhausted but I think that I should try and do some washing up before I go to bed. Have just had my chilli and a bottle of Corona. I thought that maybe a little drink may relax me and try to ease my BH. I had 1.5 hours of having painful BH that were ten minutes apart earlier. I was having to think about relaxing and slowing my breathing down through them. All has gone quiet now. I'm going to speak to my MIL (a midwife) and see if she thinks that this is typical of BH for a second baby or if she thinks that I'm brewing another premmie. I've packed an emergency bag for the hospital. I'll make it into a proper hospital bag by adding baby clothes when they are dry. I can't believe that DD ever fitted into tiny baby clothes. They are soooooooooooooo titchy tiny and she is now a chunky toddler!

BoffinMum · 04/03/2009 22:07

Lulu it is surely your cat cursing my appliances.

I told you all I didn't like cats!! Now you know why!!

BoffinMum · 04/03/2009 22:13

By the way, I have been to heaps of things with small bf babies and it was absolutely fine. I have even bf standing outside the registry office in Istanbul, a place where mums never seem to go out with small children, and it worked well. I have been to weddings and posh dos galore whilst bf, and also big social occasions like Cartier Day at the polo, and never batted an eyelid. I say go for it, they are really portable, and they won't be by the time they are toddlers!!

SpringySunshine · 04/03/2009 22:13

surprise, your DS1 sounds like such an amazing little boy! It is strange to see how much things can affect us that they completely shrug off as if it's nothing. They're deceptively tough little things, babies?

frekkles, your mirror idea sounds fab - make sure you take lots of pictures when it's done, I bet you make it look really beautiful.

Boffin, what are you doing to your technology? Impressive! I'm glad the OT ladies & physio were useful, though.

Swaliswan, your description of the joys of motherhood almost made me have a little cry - how lovely (Haha, I see I'm not the only one )

Boffin & purple, thanks for the BF guidance - I think I shall be referring back to those tips a lot when I'm tempted to just give up!

LuLu, I love your DD's outburst of 'boobies', but even more so her 'papa-juice'

BB, your thread titles are ace! You're obviously in the right business.

Ooh, mumblemum! Wedding time soon! Exciting We'll be wanting photos!

Good to see Nutty posting - hopefully she'll be on proper pain meds again soon! How stupid to refuse them.

Swali, I hope your BH go away & you don't have to rush off to hospital as well! It's not a good week for us April ladies!

Apart from barbarelly - yeeeee, babies!

PuzzleRocks · 04/03/2009 22:24

Lulu / Swali / Schulte - DD loves to surreptitiously change the setting on the washing machine mid cycle. I had no idea you cold get child lock ones. Must look into that, sometimes the damn thing is on for hours.

Mumble - Oh bless her, and poor you!
As for your big day, I hope you have a wonderful time and everything runs smoothly for you. How exciting.

Bicnod · 04/03/2009 22:26

Evening April mums-to-be just checking in...

Nutty - what happened? Hope you're ok... I missed the whole of the last thread, you lot are so quick! Sending lots of get well soon hugs...

I had my 32 week GP antenatal appointment today - baby is head down, hurrah!

Finished painting the nursery yellow this evening all by myself as DH was working late. It's a bit patchy but fine as long as you don't look toooooooo closely... done with lots of love anyway

PuzzleRocks · 04/03/2009 22:29

Hi Bicnod - Hooray for baby being head down. And well done on finishing the nursery.

Hey Springy.

Wow, that took all evening to catch up.

Goodnight ladies.

Bicnod · 04/03/2009 22:31

Thanks Puzzle

Right - I'm off to bed too...

night night x
