enjoy your sleep

BoffinMum · 05/03/2009 23:34

I am OK thanks, and the pain has settled down a lot now. DH massaged my glutes for me, which was good as well. That was why he had decided to come home early, apparently, and he has promised to massage them every night. I am please because it makes such a difference to my mobility.

Anyway, night night all. xx

BabyBolat · 06/03/2009 07:34

Wow you all had a chatty night yesterday - has taken me ages to catch up!

Ah Boffin - you are mrs over-due - you can't break your pattern - no early babies!!!

I really can't even attempt to catch up on everything that was said.

Smutts, glad you are home and hope you had a lovely sleep

OK couple of things I have been meaning to ask for aged but keep forgetting:

Springy - how have things with MIL post wedding?
Schultes - Is DD OK? know you were worried about her getting sick?
Mumble - Good luck this weekend - have a wonderful day (if you log on!) and please don't worry about anything - enjoy every minute of it!
Smutty - was it DD's birthday this week - is it the party this weekend?

My MW says that 4/5 means that there are still 4/5 out so 1/5 is almost fully engaged - that is what it says in my green notes too but again no expert!!

ages even!

Good morning. Today is zoo day, hooray. I hope you are all well this fine morning.
DD slept for 11 hours so i'm on cloud nine today. Dare I say she may have cracked this sleeping lark just in time?
Leave your cervixes alone you crazy bunch. You're like vaginal David Bellamies.

Kitty - How did the reflexology go?

BoffinMum · 06/03/2009 08:03

LOL at the Devid Bellamy reference!!

I didn't sleep that well for no obvious reason. I had nightmares about APs trashing a septic tank we don't have with sanitary towels, and a random guy being raped up his nose by the man from the banking adverts where he refuses to let people have good interest rates. Really I think my hormones must be all over the place. I would much prefer having cute pre-baby dreams like the rest of you.

PuzzleRocks · 06/03/2009 08:10

Hmm, septic tank. I tend to have dreams involving overflowing or dirty toilets when I am stressed. I think they represent purging toxic thoughts and emotions. [pseudo babble alert]
Heaven knows, or nose , what nasal rape suggests?

BoffinMum · 06/03/2009 08:15

I know, nasal rape is really sick probably. I must be very disturbed! Actually my nose is terribly stuffy at night due to pg, so perhaps it's no more dark than that ...

Nutty: On every AN ward there is someone who snores loudly. I fear that was me, as I woke up with my mouth all dry.

PuzzleRocks · 06/03/2009 08:17

I'm stuffy too. Won't be shoving a phallus up there to alleviate though.

Right, must go. Animals to see.

BoffinMum · 06/03/2009 08:18

Prefer a Vicks inhaler myself.

BoffinMum · 06/03/2009 08:19

You realise of course that nasal rape will probably have to feature in the next thread title??? Won't that be gross???

bronze · 06/03/2009 08:29

please can'r we have a nice one about twins and triplets.

Boff I don't get cute baby dreams either I get chased by people trying to kill us and the like.

BoffinMum · 06/03/2009 08:33

Ah that is comforting indeed Bronze.

My main stress dream is that I am driving very fast and never getting where I want to go.

Twins and triplets is a lot more tasteful IMO.

BabyBolat · 06/03/2009 08:36

But let's not mix the two up hey, think we would get reported if we started talking about twins, triplets and nasal rape...

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 08:39

I vote for a nice thread title as well.

I'm running a bath atm so that I can try and relax and soothe my skin. Does anyone else have very sore red patches on their bump? I know that it's probably where I'm going to get new stretch marks but it is really sore I keep rubbing bio-oil and E45 itch relief in to try and keep the skin as supple as possible but it's over an area where Bean keeps on poking and prodding me so it gets very sore. I think that I started to get stretch marks at 32 weeks last time as well. Although asI haven't put on loads of weight around my hips, bottom and thighs this time I only seem to be stretching the skin on the front of my bump, not the bit that goes from the side of my bump over my hip - that's where I got my worst stretchmarks last time.

Also, is anyone else suffering from extreme tiredness that is very similar to the first trimester? My bloods show that I'm not anaemic so it's not that. I think it's supposed to be normal for late pregnancy but it is so hard having a toddler to look after whilst being so heavily pregnant. I need a morning nap these days. Waiting for DD's afternoon nap seems like waiting a lifetime for more sleep!

bronze · 06/03/2009 08:41

I still have all my stretch marks so they're just opening out again.

Boff- I hate those frustrating dreams. For some reason in my dreams where I'm trying to escape I always have to climb the fence at the end of my parent sold garden. I did it at least three times in last nights dream.

BB- can you imagine it... that april lot are a right sick lot

BoffinMum · 06/03/2009 08:44

Swali, feeling knackered is normal IME.

BB, you are right, people just wouldn't understand about the thread title as an allegorical statement.

bronze · 06/03/2009 08:44

Swali- yes to tiredness. I fell asleep yesterday while listening to ds1 read (and hes not that boring). Its exhausting just being awake.

Bleuravin · 06/03/2009 08:45

Good morning!

So what do people think about Zurich? Dh has had some interesting conversations last night with a bloke about a possible job. Anyone know any pros or cons about the place?

I'll catch up with you all later.

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 08:46

Probably because it is rather disturbing, Boff.

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 08:47

Bleu, for a moment I thought that you were talking about Zurich insurance, not the place. You've got to love pregnancy brain!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 06/03/2009 09:09

Morning everyone!

I;d say 'Good' morning but frankly after a THIRD night of getting about 3 hours sleep i am anything but good.

on a more positive note I have an appointment with the GP at 10:35 and I'm going to BEG for something stronger than paracetemol so that I can sleep a bit. when i'm this over tired I cry a lot and that's not cool.

I have a meeting this afternoon in Stirling about the BF peer supprt work that I do and I really really dont want to cry there!

Nutty - that you are home! and that they lost your scan pics!! could you see much? we havea scan in 2 weeks and i'm worried that we'll be able to see waht flavour it is and i don't want to know!

Boffin - taht is possibly the weirdest dream I have ever heard!! lol

and after reading everyone's comments about the lotus birth thing I have decided to NOT look.

BoffinMum · 06/03/2009 09:23

I've been to Zurich a few times:

Attractive city with some cobblestoned areas
Floating 'beach' on the river in summer
Conservative people and attitudes
Good cake
Access to the Alps, so good mountain biking, skiing and hiking.
Sedate pace of life so probably good wiht small kids.

Go for it, I say.

Juwesm · 06/03/2009 09:26

Morning all, hope its nice and sunny where y'all are!

Nothing much to report.

I am 4/5 engaged - which is why I can still feel the little terror trying to shove its way under my ribs.

My cervix remains unmolested.

Can't remember last night's dreams - think possibly something about work, but not nasal rape.

Today I shall do more baby-stuff washing. Bit disappointed to find out my nappies are not quite as quick-drying as was led to believe.

Our antenatal teacher has a baby doll complete with fabric umbilcal cord and cuddly placenta attached - did not realise it was lotus birthing though!

Plans for the day also include eating fairy cakes, finding out if I can play Guitar Hero with bump in the way, and possibly painting nursery door.

BoffinMum · 06/03/2009 09:32

I still feel sick at the thought of the lotus birth thing. It is bizarre and WRONG! In nature these things are meant to be eaten, and fresh at that.
